Copyrighting photos in PhotoshopElements 9

Wondering if anyone has discovered a simple way of copyrighting photos in PS Elements 9.  When I went to HELP it mentions "set advanced photo downloading options."  Then it gives steps for automatically fixing red eyes, suggesting photo stacks making group custom names a tag and importing into album.  At the very bottom all it says is "Copyright:  Specifies the date and other relevant information to protect your photos.  Information typed into this field overwrites any data already in te copyright metadata in the file."

Yes you can use the fields in the photo downloader. Type your name as author and add a web site URL etc.
Everything you upload photos from your camera this information will be automatically embedded in the file.
You can also add a watermark, but take care with this. Always use copy photos unless you want to permanently overwrite your originals.

  • How do i copyright my photos on my iPhoto on a macbook pro i bought in 2011?

My question is how i copyright my photos in iPhoto? I bought my mackbook pro in december of 2011. I need help please.

Copyrighting photos is done by registering them with the Copyright office.  If you are asking how you flag them in iPhone that is a different story.  Just tagging them in iPhoto does not automatically make them fall under copyright laws, you need to register them for that "protection".

  • Protecting web page photos from being copied

Is there a way to insure the photos on a webpage gallery in iweb cannot be copied? For example like a photographer site who doesn't want copyright photos copied.
    Thank you!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions,
If you can see it on the web it can be copied.
    You have 3 options:
1.) Password protect your site so only those that you provide access to can see the photos. (Doesn't prevent copying, it just limits the pool of people that have access to it.)
2.) Add a watermark to the images (This is what many professional photographers do. It doesn't prevent copying, but it makes it very obvious where the photo came from. Programs like Aperture have watermarking features built in.)
3.) Don't put it online if you don't want it copied.

  • How to preset copyright default in iphone camera

I would like to be able to preset the following information on my iphone 5 camera metadata settings so that they automatically appear on each photos' metadata no matter which app is in use:
Photographer name, copyright information, terms of use
I am looking to set this as a default, not to set it after the photo is taken (or make a copy with new metadata for export) as is currently offered by so many apps. Considering the ongoing hot debates about copyright infringement and photo sharing, one would think this would be available as a set-up screen under settings/privacy/camera... If it does not currently exist is there a work-around to do this?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

I am well aware that there is no such option and we are not talking about the "average user"... I am posing this question to address the current problem of professional (and amateur) photographers who use their iphone cameras for work/assignments/dissemination (some taking thousands of photographs a month) and have a great need to protect their copyright and intellectual property once it leaves their iphones. This is a huge issue being debated everywhere (have a look at the facebook/instagram debates over photo copyright) - There are many apps available to batch copyright photos retroactively but that is NOT my question either.  There should be an option to format this type of info from the start or per project before you take the picture to cut down on post-processing time...

  • While image searching on google, "save image" only pops up occasionally while trying to save pictures

Any of you have an issue when image searching on google and holding down on the image and "save image" option doesn's show up? Only the options for "Open", Open in Background", Add to reading list", and "Copy" pop up from the bottom of the screen. Some work but many do not give the option. Can anyone help?

The website may be coded to prevent copying the photo. Many sites do this to prevent unauthorized copying of a copyright photo.

  • When I bought Elements & Premiere 12, Adobe told me I was victimized by an ID Thief.  Now I can't use my own expensive software!

I have been trying since October 18, 2013, to install & activate both programs, but all 8 of my PC's have been hacked by this thief.  Even the Adobe technicians can't help me.  I have lost 14,000 professional copyrighted photos.  I am ruined.  I have lost over $500,000 to bank fraud.  Can't I at least get a refund of the money I paid for the software I can't use?

If your computer has been hacked and the serial numbers stolen, chances are that it is distributed (for money) by pirates.  Which means Adobe is losing money by these events too.
Best contact the police about the matter.

Some online photo companies are claiming rights to your copyrighted photos in their terms of service even if you never publish the photos online.
Beware if you use Gmail, Picasa Web Albums, Photobucket, and maybe more.

  • OK. I have a copyright question. Do I have to put a copyright symbol on each of my photos to protect them from being stolen ? I'm referring to photos of paintings  here. What is to stop readers of the iBook from using the photos?

Ok, I have a question concerning copright. Do I have to put a copyright symbol on every image I use- I'm refering to photos of paintings here. What is to stop readers of the ibook from using my images? They are all my own photos.

You do not HAVE to put a © symbol on each photo. If you own the photos, you hold the copyright. However, nothing stops a viewer from downloading the photo and using it without your permission.
To protect yourself there are alternatives: put a ©2013 by ME in the description of each photo. Always add your copyright notice to the metadata in every photo.
I once had several of my photos taken off the internet and then used in a commercial catalog without my permission. I was outraged, the catalog company was naive, and in the end I received $100 compensation and an apology. - Fabini

  • How do I add print onto a photo?  I'd like to put a copyright on some of my pictures

I would like to add my name or a copyright on a few of my photos before sharing.  How do I do that in iPhoto?  I want it to show up on the photo itself.

Adding text to a photo is not a feature of iPhoto.
    You can do it with
Preview - already on your machine
    BorderFX - a free plug-in. (http://www.iborderfx.com/iborderfx/)
    or an external editor.
In order of price here are some suggestions:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate.
You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.
    Watermarks:
It can be done in Aperture or with an app like these
    Impression
    iWatermark
There are others. Search on Macupdate or the App Store

  • How can you Copyright your photos in iWeb

Does anyone know how to copyright your photos in iWeb so that others can download your images and claim them as their own?? thanks

Press: Option+"G" and you will have this "©" after it put your name as:
    ©Fito Pardo 2007
In photoshop or a program like this put your copyright notice on top of your photos like I did it:
    http://www.cinematograf.com/Links/Clientes/Pages/Belinda.html
If you like no one to download your pictures I recomend to you to put your images like here:
    http://www.cinematograf.com/Media/StillPortfolio/StillPortfolio.html
So is more dificult for others to use them as their own as this pictures are in way less resolution than prints and is very difficult to use video images on a catalog, it look like crap.
    And there is another way
Put your images like I did in video, then place a box layer on top of the video and make that box transparent:
Under the "Inspector" window, go to "Graphic", then go to "Opacity" and make the square "0%", make shure is on top of your whole video so no one can download your video.
This is actually the best way, but then again if you don't put a copyright notice like the "Belinda" pictures I did (she is a Latin Pop Star, That is why I put that copyright notice on top of every shot, there is a lot of fans who like to have some of those pictures) you will still have to worry about:
    "Shift" + "Command" (Or Apple) + "4"
That one is the command to copy what ever you want on the screen
I hope this works for you

  • How do I remove my own copyright from a photo

How do i remove my own copyright and or watermark from a photo please

dj_paige answered for watermark, I will do for copyright:
Go to library, metadata panel, and remove your copy-right entries. You might also set the status to unknown.
Then LR has no source any more to grab copyright data from, no matter if you display this in a watermark or in (exported) metadata.

  • How to add a copyright to a photo in Aperture?

I just downloaded the trial version of Aperture 2, to get a feel for it. I do a lot of photography, and need a simple way to add a copyright mark on the photo itself, i.e., my name, the year, and the copyright symbol.
Under metadata, I typed in "©2008 My name here" in the "Copyright notice" box. However, it did not appear on the photo. How exactly do I do this? I have several photos I need to print and send off in a couple of days, so a quick response would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!!

    Hi
I was wondering the same thing myself after buying aperture. I still haven't figured out a way to do it... I think adding a copyright just attaches it electronically in the metadata. I know Adobe Light room 2 has a text adding feature. Try downloading that trial. And if anyone knows a good way to do it in aperture 2 please let us know!

  • In Photo Booth are the video back drops copyrighted?

I am creating a DVD for my students and would like to use the Yosemite waterfall clip in a relaxation segment
    of the production.
    Is it copyrighted by Apple?
If it is, then I won't use it.
If this is not the best community for this question, could someone please point me in the right direction?

I am not a lawyer, and I do not know the answer to your question.
However, if I were contemplating doing what you describe, I or my attorney would make initial inquiry beginning at Apple's media.help email address shown in this Apple Legal page: http://www.apple.com/legal/trademark/copyright.html
Photo Booth and its components are part of your Mac OS, so your attorney may be able to determine whether the End User Software License Agreement for your Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) software is relevant to your questions about the Yosemite waterfall clip.

  • ITunes U photo copyright

The iTunes U Assessment Support Project's web site has a photo of students sitting in a classroom and using their iPods. I would like to use this photo in the banner on our iTunes U site. Who should I contact about copyright permission for this photo?
    It is located at http://edcommunity.apple.com/ali/story.php?itemID=9591&version=753&pageID=2895
TI 99/4A     Cassette Drive, 300 Baud Modem, Speech Synthesizer

I don't want to give you too hard a time here ... but you say you have plenty of photos of students using Zunes and such ... you have Microsoft's approval to post them on sites managed by you? I wouldn't judge Apple too harshly until you can say, "but Microsoft lets us use its artwork." I bet if you wanted to do so, you could take loads of pics of people using iPods at your campus and put them on your iTunes U site. If Apple gave you a hard time about that, I'd probably be as frustrated as you.
To be honest, I am not 100% sure why there is no way for us to obtain promotional images that we can use on our sites (I have a couple of guesses however). It might be wise, perhpas, if Apple granted us access to stock photos (I imagine we'd have to sign something ... somethng restricting how we use them ... and that would have to go past our respective legal counsels).
I know that, ultimately, Apple is a business and that iTunes U is a way to get more students buying iPods. Still, Apple didn't have to do iTunes U ... I don't think we have to kiss their butts or anyting ... but I'm not sure it's cool to use the Z-word either. With a 70% market share and a lot of university karma on their side, dunno how it would motivate them.

    Yes, it is.
The easiest way for me is access the custom shape tool,  and within that the Symbols library. You will find the copy right sign. Just drag it out. It will be on its own layer. Enter the rest of the info with the Type tool.
The symbol can also be found in the character map on a Windows system.
If you have multiple photos that you wish to mark, it is very efficient to make a copyright brush and apply  with a  click of the mouse.
