Core Center 2.0.0.7 problems?

Just updated to Core Center 2.0.0.7, but its causing problems.  For some odd reason Core Center won’t release so the system can shut down when asked
to…  Couldn’t find 2.0.0.6, but did find 2.0.0.4 and installed it, no more problems shutting down.... hummmm.

That's interesting, since the s3 sleep mode don't work on my system,it just locks up.
I don't know why, since at first it did work, however,it's not that important to me.
I do have installed back and forth the nvidia driver series for my mainboard to no avail.
So i can't say if i can produce the same error.

  • MSI Core Center Problem with the software

    Hello all
Just wanted to let you know about a problem i had the other night. You will see my specs below but i recently installed core center and all was running well until 2 nights ago when the pc would start up into windows load up core center and then re-boot. The problem was core center it's self when windows was starting it up for some reason core center decided to overclock my pc i only realised this when i saw a brief glimpse of the CPU speed as core center started it was over 2.6 GHZ no wonder the machine shutdown i eventually got it to boot up and get into core center where i found that this time it was trying to run my machine at a FSB of 215 i reset this back to 200 and the re-booting stopped i decided to just un-install core center to save any further problem.
Have any of you guys had this problem and how many are having a similiar problem but don't realise it thinking it is the cpu or heat related just thought i would let you know about this in case anyone does have a similiar problem
    Cheers everyone

i didn't even install it to tweak or overclock i was only using it to monitor my temps etc. seeing as it came on the installation disk did look at the overclocking features of it but after looking at them  i returned to the default settings prefering if and when i try overclocking to do it through the bios. I was surprised as anyone that core center decided it was going to overclock my system on it's own,  Maybe it's become self aware LOL
I just put this thread up in case anyone else has it installed and has similiar problems as i did so they can check to see if this is their problem thought it might be helpful as i know lots of people do have problems and find there way here looking for help

  • Core center problem at startup

I recently installed a new soundcard (Audigy2ZS) and it's been causing problems with core center i guess?  When ever windows starts up it says "Servive has not been started"  followed by "No Hardware Monitors".  But when I load Corecenter individually it's fine.  Any ideas?

its a common software conflict ... to solve
run msconfig ... go to the startup tab .. disable the sbdrvdet ... (i think its called that) ... to stop it loading ... i believe its to do with firwire .. so not really required ... msi software should then run ok

  • Problems with Live Update 3 and Core Center

    Hi All
I have just put together the system listed below. On the first boot-up screen "Live Update 2" is displayed on the top right of screen. I installed "Live Update 3"  from the Drivers & Utilities  CD supplied with the Mobo. On rebooting, the computer crashes straight after loading Windows. The problem occurs even after I downloaded the latest version.
I also installed Core Center from the same CD. This works fine until I try to switch user. It then comes up with the error "No Hardware Monitor Found" and crashes. The same thing happens after downloading the latest version.
    What could be causing this?
    Many thanks.

Upgrade BIOS and see what happens...

  • Core Center Problems & General Questions added

On boot up after installing core center on my PC, I get warning messages telling me that core center doesnt have the correct drivers installed, and that core center is not compatable with my motherboard.
I just bought a MSI K8N Neo4-F ... any suggestions?  This doesn't seem to be a common problem and I can't get any answers anywhere :(

After the proper bios adjustments and correct settings i can use corecenter to reach the maximium overclocking setting for this tool.
In bios i do have to set vcore at 1.45 and HT at 4x , disable agressive timings.
This way will lead to a fsb of 222, for my memory also without changing the timings leading to a 6600 score in sandra for memory.
My cpu will clock 2666 then.
Also i have to overvolt through corecenter for cpu and memory, both maxed out giving 2.85 for mem and 1.58 for vcore total.
Now i'm not running this since i don't need the extra heat and my games don't require it either, yet.
And i can run my cpu higher also, but that's not the issue.
It's a way to see with which settings you get more performance without messing up the bios.
Finding your way through it you can then set it in bios and forget about corecenter.
See it as a first step, because after that you can adjust memory timings to get more fsb over the 200mhz. thus finding a balanced setting that will give the most speed, because setting timings too loose will not always result in faster performance even if you can clock the mem higher.
Finally, you can also use clockgen to find your limits. This tool let me set the multiplier also to max out the cpu without compromising the memory. Also keep in mind that different cpu cores will give different results, you can't compare settings with different hardware after all.The venice core is a nice cpu for adjusting fsb settings which is for me a simple multiplier, also the memory divider on my board let me set a very high fsb if needed.Again, this is now a simple multiplier,it means nothing if i have it set at 230 or 340,i only have to bring down the cpu multiplier then to stay in spec and use the proper mem divider.

  • Core center problems

    HI
I have an MSI 865PE neo2 motherboard witch comes with the dinamic overcolocking technology (D.O.T)
but when i install core center the red button to activate DOT does not apear.
I wold like to know if there is any way to fix this
because i know someone ho bought a motherboard similar to mine exept his board had gigabit lan. and he didn´t have the same problem his core center works perfectly.
i wowld be grateful if you coud help me

The first generation boards only had dynamic overclocking in the FIS2R model, which was the one with gigabit lan. I thought all the rev 2 boards had the feature. The revision (ver) number is shown between the PCI slots.
If your board has this feature, the settings will be found in the bios. They use the army ranks to adjust the level.

  • P6N SLI V2 problem with "dual core center"

I have the P6N SLI  V2 with E4400 and 7600gt running XP pro sp 2.
after installing and running MSI's "dual core center" (including .Net framework) I only have the "VGA" option enabled, the "MB" option is disabled as well as the D.O.T option. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well as downloading the latest version, but I have the same problem. I get no MB options at all (like no cpu temp, fan speed, core speed etc.). I didn't make any changes to the BIOS yet (other than changing the boot sequence), and ideas?

  • MSI Core Center problem!!!

I´ve just updated the MSI Core Center to ver 1.6.2.0 because 1.6.1.0 kept increasing and decreasing CPU fan speed all the time, got a bit annoying.
After the install and restart of PC, when Core Center started, the PC automaticly restarted. Only way I can use my PC now is by dissabling Core Center, or going to older ver. but thats not the best solution.
I have passiv coling on NB, but this havent caused problems before, and keeps a normal temp.
MSI, i think u should look tthe Core Center program over, somethings wrong.
Pardon my english (I´m from Sweden).

    hi khinax,
Please give your signature (computer spec).
Why you adjust the fan speed doesn't it run automatically with 3 pin?
Use CC with not much problem.
I use it for DOT with ver.1.6.1.0 which quit better than 1.6.2.0, this is the only software that can communicate with the COreCell.
    Work fine right now.

  • [Athlon64] ATA HD, Core Center and Drivers problems...

My first problem is about my hard drive. I just recently build a new system and this is my first S-ATA Drive. It is a Seagate 160 gigs (ST3160827AS) and everything works fine... But my hard drive appears in the icon that said "Safely remove hardware". I know this is not an external HD, is internal, and I tried to install it on a Dell computer (Dimension 4700) and it was installed as an internal drive, the way it should be, not like a USB one... so does anyone know how to fix this? I'm not having any performances problems that I'm aware of... but I know this is not right...
My other problem is with tha Core Center, Digicell software... Everynow and then I get the following 4 messages, and both softwares failed to run from the start:
Core Center (Failed to load hardware monitor driver)
    Digicell (Failed to load!)
    Core Center (No Hardware Monitor)
Core Center does not support your motherboard!
I don't know what is the problem... I have a K8N NEO4 Platinum SLI so it is impossible that my MB is not supported... any clues about this?
My last problem is about some devices that are not correctly installed that appear in my device manager...One appear as a Other PCI Bridge Device and the other in the Raid controllers section as Mass Storage Controller. I tried to install the two floppy's that came with my MB but they don't seem to work...I also have this option in Windows update to install the Silicon Image Silicon Image SiI 3132 SATALink Controller... but Everytime I try, I get an error message... If anyone any solutions for this problems, please help me.... thank you in advance...

Press Start...then right click up at the top, pick Properties, then choose Task Bar....choose Customize...then look for the Safely Remove Hardware listing...then pick Always Hide!
Go to Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel, and delete CoreCenter and DigiCell. Then, try re-loading those programs form your MSI CD.
Personally...I don't use any of those, and find SpeedFan a much more accurate utility. You can download it from www.majorgeeks.com
If you are not using a RAID system...you don't need Silicon Image Controller.
Load your MSI CD, and go to Device Manager, and right-click on Other PCI Bridge Device, and choose Update Drivers from a specific location. It should find the application on your CD, then load.

Installed the dotnetfix again but no avail, still doesn't work.
And i know that happened after installed the VGA, so i believe that must be part of the problem.
    Thanks!

  • Core Center Pro Problems w/MSI-9620v1 (K8N Master2-FAR)

-Running XP as shown in sig,
---My issue is Core Center running on two User accounts, causes instabilities or maybe just false readings, resulting in Alarm/Shut Down. Shutting down and then jumping to BIOS's H/W Monitor shows it's not even close to my alarm settings, let alone critical. With the system temporarily being at the tattoo shop while sending his MoBo out for repairs, the two User accounts must be accessed on a regular basis, so fast switching/switch users is the preferred method log logging on.
---Originally I had issues with Core Center showing in Taskbar on all accounts other than mine/Admin, though it was a running process. Added. When I thought it wasn't loading, I started it (clickity-click on icon) and it automatically would say CPUs were overheated.
---Is there a fix that can allow the Core Center to run on two profiles, or am I going to have to shut it down when switching to another profile and open it when the other profile logs in? That would be a bit of a hassle for the other user. He's computer illiterate & would be happier jumping on the computer, searching craig's list or whatever, and then getting off the computer without having to click this, click that and click that before he logs on/off.

Quote from: Bas on 16-January-12, 04:42:17
I do not know many people that use CoreCenter.
I stopped using it myself in the beginning, as you can simply set the fans in the BIOS.
And the over-temp-shutdown is done by the BIOS automaticly so no reason to set in CC either.
    -Thanks Bas,
---I can't adjust anything but alarms in CC anyway, so I just use it for the advanced warning. Maybe it was a conflict between BIOS & CC that caused it, never checked to see if the settings were the same between the two User Profiles, but again the 2nd User profile is gone, so it won't be a problem for me any longer.
---So to me, your response sums it up. Wanted to do this first thing, but wanted to test them first and see if the fuss about OEM coolers was justified. Time to upgrade the CPU coolers; Well, at least the one for CPU2, nearest PCI-E1 (which is always 4°C-8°C higher than CPU1). I've notice temps have gone up 9°C on all (system, CPU1 & CPU2) since I first built the machine, but just wrote that off in thought as "the new BeQuiet! PSU is single fan where the Ultra was dual". Though they're clean to the eye (system is cleaned of all dust, what little there is due to intake filter) and they still show a steady 5900RPM, the CP1 fan shows intermittent (false I would imagine) report of 11k every great once in a while (not in BIOS though).
---In the good name of forum etiquette, I will search for recent cooler alternative topics and jump in. If none found, I will add to an old, unlocked thread... and if still none found, I will start anew.
    ---Thanks again,

  • DKA790GX Platinum, have problem with changing FSB in Dual Core Center

    Hello guys, freshblood is here,
I change fsb in Dual core center, but unfort.  core temp and CPUZ don't reflect any changes.

I agree.  The BIOS gives you better control with better options.

Dumb MSI Dual Core Center.  It is not the best tool ever developed.  Use the BIOS for overclocking your system.

  • Core Center & Temperature problems

    Hello!
I've noticed, that in Core Center, there are only two readings; the CPU temperature and the Northbridge temperature.
In the BIOS I see those readings too. But in Core Center, the temperature of the Nortbridge is 'N/A'.
It's strange, because in Core Center the 'Case temperature' IS the Northbridge temperature, and definitly not the Case temp.
If I start Speedfan or Aida32, I see a strange third temperature reading; it's only 6 degrees Celsius. What the ...???
Ok, Bios 1.4 corrected my CPU temperature, but where's my case reading? ...
Here, a picture of my Core Center...
    Hope you can help!

An integrated memory controller removes one of the major roles of the external North Bridge. The main function of the Northbridge is to handle the memory, CPU, and AGP data-transfer duties and to make the most efficient use of available resources as well as the data link to the Southbridge functions. Keeping all these components supplied with data is the core duty of the Northbridge, and its performance is a factor of its timings, buffers, and memory clock speeds.
Compared to the Northbridge, the chipset's Southbridge component provides support for a wide variety of devices with many differing bus speeds and designs. Control over secondary buses (USB, IDE, PS/2, Ethernet) is the Southbridge's domain.
AMD took the step and integrated a North Bridge on the CPU die . The only thing that remains of the conventional external North Bridge is an AGP controller.
So in my definition it is wrong to call the nvidia chipset for northbridge.
