Core Center crash - standby/hibernate

When returning from standby or hibernate Core Center (2.0.0.5) crashes. Is this usual behaviour?
Thanks in advance

Is the system overclocked ?
Is it running CnQ enabled ?
If yes to any of theese i recommend stop using S3 .
Could also try a newer BIOS version of course to see if it fixes the S3 resume .
The system no, the graphics card, yes.
Yes.

  • Core Center causes crash with XP SP2

I've recently configured a non-admin account on my P4 XP Pro computer, and encountered a problem that is well described back in October of 2004, where core center causes the computer to crash.  See this link for details . . .
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=65349.0
Given these problems, and nothing in that thread suggesting a resolution, I'm thinking of maybe just turning off Core center with Hijack This.  Do I really need Core Center or something like it to safely operate?  I'm not overclocking, and I have an extra fan in my case.

No you absolutely do not need CoreCenter at all.
CC is only meant for layman o/c'ing and this software does too many funny stances than what we could handle so try to get rid of it asap.

  • Media center crashing during recorded tv playback

In the last month or so my Windows 7 Media center started crashing during Media Playback (Unhandled ExceptioN).  I've been using media center on this system and others for years and have never seen this type of crashing (expecially on Win7).  While
I initially presumed that the issue was with a single system within a day or two I started to see the IDENTICAL issue on a SECOND system that I have that is also running Windows 7 x64.  They run with completely different types of Motherboards, cpu's (both
are Intel but one is a Core i7-4770k and the other i7-2600k), both have different types of display adapter and displays (Display adapter on system 1 is NVidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti the display adapter on System 2 is NVidia GeForce GTS 450).
However given the fact that they BOTH regularly crash 2-3 times per hour I'm suspecting a recent update, both systems are set to download and apply all critical system updates.  One system is playing back from local disk array (Raid), the other is playing
back over the network. Both have failed when payback is of local content the second system has also failed when playback originates from the first system (via network share).
System frequently has other applications tasks running so there could be conflicting tasks that influence, however system 2 is a dedicated system for recording and playback and runs little else besides Windows Media center.
Given the only STRONG commonality between the two systems is:
    Version of Windows
    NVidia Drivers
And given the fact that it's Unlikely that Microsoft is making any tweaks to Media Center on Win7.  I'm STRONGLY suspicious of the update that landed on my machines in Late Oct/Early Nov.  IS ANYONE
ELSE SEEING ISSUES with Windows media center crashing on Windows 7 immediately following an Update from NVidia?  Details of my update are below.
nVidia - Graphics Adapter WDDM1.1, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.2, Graphics Adapter WDDM1.3 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling graphic card or rollback?
I shall suggest you to update the driver from Nvidia's site instead of Windows Update.
You shall also look at the media center error logs to find out possible causes behind this issue.

  • Core Center freezes after 15 seconds

I dont know if its MOBO related or if its Core Center thats the problem.
When I start Core Center its ok but if i leave it running for more than about 15 seconds, the entire pc freezes and i have to reboot.
Regrdless of weather it is in the sys tray or maximised.
This problem also happens with PC Alert 4 (which I see has now been removed from the MSI download site)
    I am running Core Center v 1.7.2.0
    any ideas ?
    thanks
    Bubba

I haven't used CoreCenter in a long time, but if I remember correctly there is an Auto button that will overclock the computer until it crashes.
You should try to configure a utility like SpeedFan instead. CoreCenter seems to cause problems for the vast majority of users. It's a piece of software that seems to be worth exactly what you paid for it.

  • Problems with Live Update 3 and Core Center

    Hi All
I have just put together the system listed below. On the first boot-up screen "Live Update 2" is displayed on the top right of screen. I installed "Live Update 3"  from the Drivers & Utilities  CD supplied with the Mobo. On rebooting, the computer crashes straight after loading Windows. The problem occurs even after I downloaded the latest version.
I also installed Core Center from the same CD. This works fine until I try to switch user. It then comes up with the error "No Hardware Monitor Found" and crashes. The same thing happens after downloading the latest version.
    What could be causing this?
    Many thanks.

Upgrade BIOS and see what happens...

  • Having trouble with voltage alarm in core center

I hadn't used this comp for about a year, just put it back together and added the kingston ram to it that a buddy gave to me. Just found Core Center online and installed it. The problem i'm having is that the alarm is going crazy. Don't have alot of experience overclocking, and i'm not actaually trying to at all. I've been having programs close and games freeze up because of overheating. This is what I see when I look at the core center.
    on the left
    1.39 v
      Vcore
    2.72-82 v (flashing red)
     3.3V
    4.97 v
     +5v
    11.84-90v
     +12V
If I open the tab, the FBS says 200mhz and is flashing blue to black
doesn't look like i'm having any problems with cpu temp. 35 'C
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

do you know how to enter into bios if so then click on default save and exit then see what happens, somehow it looks the voltage for memory has been set 2.7 or 2.8 volt which is too high it should be 1.8 or 2.5 volt
Yea its at 2.5 i beleive. I reset everything to default, and it has been since i put everything back together. Before i had core center installed it was crashing guild wars, and wow consistantly because of overheating. I'll unistall core center and get a monitering app instead.

  • Core Center Causing reboot!!!!

I seem to be having an issue with Core Center, every time I load it my system crashes.  I have all the latest drivers installed, I even tried the Omega drivers for the video card.  A little help from anyone trying the same setup would be greatly appreciated:help:

Tried the website download, no good ran the memtest and found 1 stick of bad Mushkin ram, RMA'ing that.
I guess this will be the second bad board, if I don't install Core center she runs and posts fine, but once I reboot after install I can get to the welcome screen then it dies with a stop error0x0000008e and lists rushtop.sys which I found is in the Core Center file.
Maybew someone can give me a better idea of what I did wrong, I think I'm wearing out my XP install disc.

  • Dual Core Center hates me

My MSI P965 Platinum woes continue
Firstly, my DVD burner wouldn't work properly until I flashed the BIOS. How can you ship a motherboard where something a simple as the IDE channel doesn't work properly. Looking at the number of threads here where the JMicron chip was the issue I'm surprised it hasn't been banned yet.
Secondly, I finally got my HHD speeds back to normal after installing my system with my SATA ports set to RAID and the RAID drivers (even though I'm not using RAID). Today though I am experiencing random system freezing and even a reboot.
Now my latest headache is with the Dual Core Center that just won't work. And I do have the .NET 3 Framework installed. It installs fine, but when I try run it crashes and says DCC has encountered an error and needs to shutdown.

BTW - why does the DCC want to install itself in my ATI driver folder ?
This IS the most frustrating motherboard I've ever used. And I've used a lot

My question would be why are you using Dual Core Centre at all?
          * it is well know that it is a poor utility
          * Overclocking better off done in the bios.
          * Use Coretemp or SIV 3.14 for monitoring temps, and CPU-Z.

Sorry, but I do not own your motherboard so I am not that familiar with the ins and outs of it, just offering some general information.

  • Notification center crashes - the possible fix for me - remove Twitter.

I recently updated to a new Mac, and the only issue I was having intially was Notification Center hanging and crashing the computer when I slid it over.
I don't know if others were having this problem, or just me; most of the threads I had seen about the issue were dealing with older versions of OS X (Mountain Lion or Lion)  When this hang occurred, the only way around it I had was to hard-reboot the computer, or use the "KillNotificationCenter.app" I downloaded from an older post in this forum.  The computer basically became entirely unresponsive, and often the Notification Center was half slid out when this happened.
It appeared at first to be more frequently an issue if I started the Notification Center right after waking up, but that ended up not being the case.
After experimenting a bit, I think I've figured out the problem (for me, at least), after playing around with things a bit.  I have not had a single Notification Center crash.  There may be something else at play, so I can't confirm this, but for me, all the Notification Center crashes stopped after I removed Twitter from the Notification Center.   This is the default, built in Twitter from OS X, not any Twitter applications.  I have not tried any of those.   It was not incredibly useful for me, since it only returned a minimal amount of information, and I don't in general receive a lot of DMs or mentions, etc.
I believe what originally drove me to try this was something I saw in the crash logs, but I can't find my notes.  But I can say I haven't had any problems since doing this.
Again, maybe I'm the only one, but I thought I'd pass this along in case anyone else was still having problems with Notification Center crashing.

If you literally "checked" them, meaning the checkboxes, that only affects their visibility. To remove them, select one and then click on the "minus" part of the "plus minus" at lower left.

  • Dual Core Center working in Vista but not XP on a dual boot system?

    Hi All.
    My system specs are:
Dual Boot Windows XP Pro SP2 and Windows Vista Ultimate
Temps for CPU in Vista averaging at 43 - 45 degrees in XP averaging at 38 to 42 degrees.  It never seems to go much higher than 53 on Load.
    Thermaltake Soprano tower
    MSI K9N Diamond Motherboard
    Hiper 580watt Modular PSU
    4GB OCZ Gold 6400
    AMD X2 6000+
    2 X 300gb diamond maxtor 10 HDD
    MSI Geforce 7800gt
    DVD Rom
    LG Dual Layer DVDRW+/-
I am running a dual boot system with Windows XP Pro SP2 on one partition and Windows Vista Ultimate on the other.  Both operating systems seem to be operating properly except for an odd situation with Dual Core Center.  In Windows XP Dual Core Center only indicates the Mainboard properties - No VGA, whereas on Windows Vista Ultimate Dual Core Center indicates both VGA & Motherboard properties.  I have installed MSI Nvidia drivers for the Graphics card & also tried straight Nvidia drivers for the card but it has made no difference VGA will not show up in XP.  Yet on installing Dual Core Center on the Vista partition VGA showed up immediately.  Can anyone help.
If anyone can come up with an answer to this it would be a real help.
    Many Thanks in advance.

have you try to update/install the dual core driver from amd?

  • NX7600GT Diamond Plus and fan speed with Dual Core Center

I just got a NX 7600GT Diamond Plus for my HTPC. I noted that Riva Tuner and other utilities are not able to control the fan speed of the video card. The only way one can control the fan speed is via Dual Core Center and 3D Core Cell. The problem is that the default setting for fan speed on Dual Core Center is too high and clearly audible. How can I get Dual Core Center to start with user defined presets during windows start-up/boot-up ?
What I want to do is to put the fan into 'SILENT' mode automatically during Dual Core Center start-up. Any ideas / suggestions ?

Quote from: BOSSKILLER on 17-January-07, 00:44:11
well no need to edit manually, MSI provided everythink in easy way from core center.
select advanced mode, create your custom profile pickup your desired settings,(setup maximum FAN RPM via buttons) and save it to custom profile.
suggest you to read help section from program.
So the custom profile is automatically loaded every time DualCoreCenter starts up ? Maybe there is something wrong with my install of DCC, I cannot get it to load custom profiles automatically upon startup. I can save the changes to say "User Profile 1" but the profile active on startup always is the "default" profile ...

  • Cool-n-quit/core-center

in CnQ my cpu fan gives me an alarm above 3000 rpm's. Whatever I change in the setup, this won't stop. The fan speed alarm in set to 10.000
Temperature is just 36 degr for CPU and 37 for system
    Any thoughts?

Hi everyone. As you can see I'm kind of a newb and I have some related questions. First off some background. I've done hardware installs, harddrive clean formats and swaps, etc. I was planning on building my own computer, but order one from cyberpowerinc.com. I haven't done a profile yet but will after this post so by the time you read this my system should be listed below. Anyway, in the BIOS I had cool and quiet disabled because in the manual it says to check serial numbers of chips before running it, and I didn't want to mess with pulling the heat sink , etc. to check my serial number. This morning while investigating a noise issue (high, varying frequency, buzz) I noticed in Core Center that it was related to CPU fan RPM (low RPM). I then found the program called speedfan, which allowed me to varify this, as Core Center wasn't real accurate. Using speed fan I was able to run the fan at 100% and got no buzzing. Below 70-80% I did though. I then found this thread and realized Core Center could do this (by clicking on Core Center) in another thread. So is the Cool and Quiet mode in Core Center the same as in the BIOS, because I thought if I disabled in the BIOS it would be disable, come to find out Core Center was running it (and causing the bad noise when the fan cycled to low RPM), it wasn't however slowing the CPU speed.
So basically, I hate the buzz at low fan speed, can I just run my fan at max through Core Center? Is there another program that will allow me to run a min fan speed, but cycle say from 100% to 80%? Is it even worth that cycling if only down to 80%? Should I just set it to max or 7/8 manually? Are the BIOS and Core Center Cool and Quiet settings related?
Any info you think will be useful to me, please let me have it. Thanks.

  • Alarm going off in core center

I have an alarm going off in core center Theres a red arrow next to wherer it says 12 v. then in the white box it says 10.95 v  any one know what it means and what I could do about it I don't know whats normal for the readings I get in core center. My pc has been locking up and certian games wont load unless it's really cool in the room.

Good questions! Some folks have acceptable readings with CoreCenter, by verifying them with the Hardware Monitor (in BIOS). I compared them with my SpeedFan program, and as far as temps go..I use a laser temp gun to check CPU, case, and video card temps. Voltages on the PSU can be verified with a voltmeter of course. The specifications on your NB fan should be in your manual. Or you can check out this thread at Anandtech:

  • Core Center Related

    I am getting:
    1st Line: Vcore 1.49V
    2nd Line: 2.91V
    3.3V under line 2
    3rd Line 5.03
    5V under line 3
    4th Line 12.08v
    12 under line 4
and the alarm goes off, I am very new and would be most thankful for any help.

First off if the computer is working and stable you don't want to change any of those. Second Core Center is the wrong place to change any of those values unl;ess it is for a specific test. I don't ever recommend making any changes with Core Center for any reason. In fact I don't recommend Core Center at all.
Best to restart with Stock values and if you are looking to play around ask first so that you knopw what changes to try and make and how to test it to see if any changes have the correct affects.
LOL Now I sound like I am talkking down to you. I know that but I can not know what level of knowledge you have. If what I said offends you please forgive me. I am just trying to help someone I don't know and over the internet to boot. That is never really that easy to do.
