Core differences between Asset intelligence and Software Metering

Hello all,
A small doubt,
What all are the core differences between Asset intelligence and Software Metering.
I am asked to implement License management for certain software in my environment using SCCM 2012 R2, where I should get the report on number of licenses of one particular software used during particular timing. Will this be possible using Software metering
alone.
Is there any extra cost involved in for software metering or asset intelligence?

Vishnu

Hi,
1. Software metering allows you to create a rule and meter application usage very granular, when it is started, how many times , how long it has been used e.t.c, Asset intellegence doesn't require you to create any rules it will only inventory start/stop
so you can get reports like "all computers that hasn't started a application in x days".
2.It depends on the license agreement for that application, but yes you can get how many has started a specific application within a timeframe.
3.No

  • Difference between Asset Intelligence 09A report and reports in the Software Metering folder

    Dear all,
I can not seem to grasp the difference between Asset Intelligence 09x reports and reports in the Software Metering folder. Do they extract conclusions based on the same data and which data are those? I also have come to notice that there are occasional dicrepancies
between them. Why would this be?

  • Differences between  hardware thread and software thread?

    Hi ,all!
The Instructions of SPARC V9 have nothing about thread ID. And there are two bits of CCX packets indicating thread ID.
Does it mean that CCX generates the thread ID of SPARC core?
And, what are the differences between hardware thread and software thread?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi ,all!
The Instructions of SPARC V9 have nothing about
thread ID. And there are two bits of CCX packets
    indicating thread ID.
Does it mean that CCX generates the thread ID
of SPARC core? Each SPARC core has one unique ID to identify itself when it receives packets, such as CCX packets, interupt packets and so on. Such ID is defined in the Hyperprivileged register. Maybe you can see UA2005-current-draft-HP-EXT.pdf for more information.
And, what are the differences between hardware
    thread and software thread?
Thanks in advance!Software thread runs on the hardware thread (or strand).

Older iPads got 3G service and were called Wi-Fi + 3G. Newer iPads can connect to faster cellular networks and those are given different names by the major carrier so to simplify things Apple calls the newer models Wi-Fi + Cellular.
iPads with 3G or Cellular are NOT used like a mobile phone. They do not make phone calls or send SMS or MMS text messages, They do connect to the data network and can connect to the web.

  • What is the difference between, Configuration Components and Software Comp?

    Experts,
Can somebody tell me, What is the difference between, Configuration Components and Software Components?

    Hi,
    Configuration Objects:
You use configuration objects to help you to structure and organize your configuration data in the Integration Directory
You can group configuration objects by using configuration scenarios.
    The following configuration objects exist:
    1) Collaboration profile objects
        -Communication Party
       -Service
       -Communication Channel
    2)  Logical routing objects
      - Receiver determination
      - Interface determination
    3)  Collaboration agreement objects
       -   Sender Agreement
       -  Receiver Agreement

  • Difference between Asset Register and Trial Balance

    Hai Guys,
Our client went live in the year 1999. At present they are in Ver. 6.0 but New GL is not activated.
There is a situation where some of the Asset accounts have a difference between the amounts shown by the Asset Register and the amounts shown by the Trial Balance.
The issue was written to SAP support team. I was told about a special T code (ABF1) which is not available through the standard menu. But the same can be used only if we need to change the GL in line with the Asset accounting and that too if the GL balance is less than the Asset accounting balance. But, in our case, the situation is such that the GL figures have been freezed for the year end and cannot be changed.
In such a situation, SAP support replied me about a program RACORR05 which will give the missing line items in asset accounting. If I run the same, it is giving a output of some document numbers and I am not exactly understanding the same.
The balance has been carried over for quiet some years and it is of no used to go into those years and find out the reason for the difference. Now, the Asset accounting is to be set in line with the GL balances and that too without hitting the GL balances by any way. I know that the same is difficult.
But will any of you be able to help me in this regard as I have tried all ways out but could not find a solution.

    Hai Paul,
Thanks for your reply. I have already gone through the note 69225. In our case, the requirement is to align the Asset Accounting without hitting the GL balances of the concerned assets which is a difficult situation. When contacted, the SAP Support team has given a program RACORR05, which outputs some list of documents which are existing both in GL and AA. I do not understand the output. I have seen all the related notes in this regard. The difference has been carried over for quiet some years and there is no use in going into the details of the reason for the difference as the years are already closed.
The total difference as between asset Register and GL is around 55 lacs (GL balance is less than asset register balance) and the difference in accum. depreciation is around 43 Crores (!!!!!!!!) (Balance as per Asset Register is less than the GL balance).
Is there any way out to resolve this. can I handle this using AS92 (Legacy asset transfer values). But I need to change the Legacy asset transfer date for this. I hope the same is not advisable in a live company code. Please comment on the same as to whether it can be done.
    THanks again for your reply.

  • Difference between Asset Cost and Sum of Cost of Source Lines

    Dear Members,
I have an asset for which the cost is shown as 1,672.696 at header level in Source Lines window.
But when I summed up the cost of the source lines of the same asset it is coming as 3345.392 (which is double of the amount shown at the header level).
Can any one please tell me why there is a difference.
    Steps I Followed:
The navigation I followed is as follows:
    FA Super User-->Asset Workbench.
In the find screen I have entered the asset number and clicked on Find button.
Once I clicked on the Find button ,I can see the 'Assets' scrren on which I clicked on the 'Source Lines' button.
Now Iam in Sourcelines window and here I can see the difference.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Diference Between Web Intelligence and Web Intelligence Rich Client?

    Hey Guys,
Do you know the difference between Web Intelligence and Web Intelligence Rich Client?
I was asked about that but i couldnt help. And i need to make a decision about a Web Intelligence training. I need to decide using one or another.
    Thanks
    Vegas

    Hi Vegas,
The Webintelligence Rich Client (WRC) has all the features of the thin webintelligence client. But WRC makes use of the client processor and memory to do all post query processing while Infoview Webi sends every request to the server for processing.
Thus you won't find any difference between the time taken to retrieve data from the database between these two clients. But there would be huge difference in performance while doing further analysis, formatting  with the data. Also you will not need connectivity to the network to do analysis and formatting using the WRC client.
WRC client will help you to just retrieve the data on the fly and let you play around with it while you are traveling with no network connectivity.
    Thanks

  • ABST2 - Differences between Assets and G/L accts

    Hi Experts
We are working on ECC 6.0 and INR is our local currency.
At the end of FY 2007 by mistake direct postings were made to Dep Fund Account which is a Recon a/c and FY 2007 was closed
And because of which FI-GL and FI-AA doesnt match by INR 37353.71 (amt posted in above doc) as shown in ABST2
I've referred SAP notes 104567 & 69225 and found the note 69225 relevant to follow as the difference has not resulted in the current or open years.
So we have passed direct entry which is exactly the reversal of entry posted above using ABF1 (INR -37353.71)
After posting the 2nd document, in ABST2 another line has appeared of INR -37353.71. Although the sum for my recon GL is now zero.
The output of ABST2 is as below now -
Sc  Acct no.   BusA  Year  SG  1st local difference  LCurr  Doc.no.    Period
    AS  31100                2009               37,353.71-        INR     W004
    AS  31100                2009               37,353.71         INR     W004       999
When I come out of ABST2 , addition to 1st, error no 2 is also coming which I thought would disappear.
1.Differences between assets and G/L accts in the balance carried forward
         Message no. MQ555
2.Differences between assets and G/L accounts at the key date
         Message no. MQ557
Is still something else needs to be done?
Or can I move ahead as the summation of the difference is now zero?
    Please suggest.
    Kapil

We referred to SAP and they suggeted that the tagging of W004 in both the lines means that now there is no error even system prompts it as error.
So we continued with the transactions and after closing the FY 2009, today when we run ABST2, we dont get any error messages as there is no difference left between Assets & GL.

  • Difference between post-capitalization and write-up of an asset

    Dear Experts,
Kindly explain the difference between post-capitalization and write-up of an asset in SAP.
    Regards
    Komal

    Hi Komal,
Post Capitalization means correction of the value of an asset, which is either set too low due to not carrying out a capitalization in the past, or which is treated entirely as expense.
where as Write up is the reversal of past depreciation and write-up is necessary either when the depreciation posted was too high or when the reasons for unplanned depreciation no longer exist.

  • Asset Intelligence Installed Software class vs Win32Reg_AddRemovePrograms and Win32Reg_AddRemovePrograms64 classes

I am working on a script and I have read that using the Asset Intelligence Installed Software class would be more practical than using the Win32Reg_AddRemovePrograms and Win32Reg_AddRemovePrograms64 classes on a 64-bit system, because I would only have
to query just one class to get both 32-bit and 64-bit programs on a 64-bit OS.
    Is this true?
    Thanks

    Yes, true.

  • Differences between assets and G/L accts

Differences between assets and G/L accts in the balance carried forward
    Message no. MQ 555
    Diagnosis
Differences occurred in the balance carried forward when comparing asset summary records and G/L accounts.
    Procedure
Using program RFEWSBAL, select the accounts for which differences occurred. To do this, proceed as follows:
    1. Changeover package: Active package
    Phase: ANALYZE
    Origin of change: AS
    Proceed
    1. Analyze the accounts containing errors using note 104567.
If the document number field contains the entry "W004", this means that although a difference exists in the balance carried forward, this difference was charged off at the key date. Following local currency changeover, the system adjusts the currency differences at the key date only, but not in the balance carried forward.
If the entry "W004" exists for all affected accounts, the status is set to warning instead of error. If the correction at key date described above proves sufficient, you can continue changing over the local currency without additional adjustments in the previous year.
However, SAP does recommend that you make corrections in the previous year in line with note 104567 since this ensures that the balance carried forward is also reconciled.

    Hello,
    There 2 t codes ABST and ABST2.
You have issue if ABST does not match.
ABST2 is as of today t code. Ideally they will match.
    To fix the issue
    execute AFAR
then execute AFAB repeat run dep.
Normally your will asset balance will match with GL

  • Difference between Asset and Equipment

    Hi All,
Can someone tell me the difference between Asset (Created using AS01) and Equipment (Created using IE01).
    Thanks,
    Rock

    Dear Rock,
Asset is a financial entity managed by SAP-AA (Asset Accounting) component. Though, it has some logistic data to manage (and one can always add user-defined fields) its main purpose is to manage fixed assets as a part of the company's financial statement by applying different tools like depreciation, capitalization, retirement etc. Equipment, however, is a logistic entity which allows you to manage the logistic flow for your assets, by tracing the place of installation, managing repair/service orders, parts of equipment, etc. An equipment (or several equipments) could be linked to a financial asset. It's important to emphasize that not every equipment is a financial asset, and not every financial assets is an equipment even if you are about to implement both AA and PM in your SAP project.

    Eli

  • What is the difference between /assets/account/import and /data/account ?

Does anybody knows what is the use of /assets/account/import and /data/account.
What is the difference between these two and their functional use.
    thanks

/assets/account/import is used in the context of performing account file uploads through the E10 UI. If you navigate to Contacts > Accounts > and click Upload in the top right corner (above search), you'll get the upload wizard:
The moment you click the cloud icon and select a file, two actions take place:
    1) POST to /assets/account/import is made, where you are passing the name, import source and purpose of the import. The response includes the id of the new import object you created
    2) Another POST to /assets/account/import/{id}/csv is made, which includes the data in your chosen file
Afterwards, you perform the mappings and go to step 4 of the wizard. When you click Finish, another two actions take place:
    1) PUT /assets/account/import/{id} to update the import definition with your mappings from Step 3
    2) POST to /assets/account/import/{id}/queue to send this import into the import/upload queue. At this point it becomes visible from Setup > Integration > Inbound > Reporting > Upload History
Note that this workflow is not meant for client use, but rather helps facilitate UI functionality for marketing users. You should be using Bulk API to add or update records, which also confers other advantages such as the ability to use syncActions. The only functionality not available in Bulk API which is available through this workflow is the ability to delete Accounts. For obvious reasons, its recommend that you do NOT automate the deletion of any records. Accounts especially are not subject to any band limits or rates, so its best to have Marketers remove them as needed.
Regarding the second part of your question, the /data/accounts endpoint will provide you with up to 1000 account records when using GET. A POST can also be made to create a new account record (company) within Eloqua. Otherwise, GET /data/account/{id} will retrieve the details of a particular record and PUT /data/account{id} will update a particular.
    Best regards,
    Bojan

  • HT1463 what is the difference between intel inside and intel core

What is the difference between intel inside and intel core?

Those two terms are not directly related.  "Intel Inside" is a marketing phrase that just means that the computer that displays that phrase in advertisements has an Intel CPU inside, as opposed to an AMD processor, for instance.  That's all.  Intel core is not precisely a phrase I've seen; but it would simply refer to the central processing area (the "Core") inside an Intel processor.
    Hope this helps
