Core Image and Intel GMA950 graphics processor

Does the Intel GMA950 graphics processor support Core Image?
Mac Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

And it's fast! (contrary to lots of the bad hype about integrated graphics sucking.) Intel and Apple did their homework on these minis.

Why is the build to order 12 core processor limited to 2.66 GHz Intel Xeon "Westmere" processor?

if you look at apples online store; you'll see there is no options to buy / upgrade the CPU at a later date. The online store dose offer: RAM, Graphic Cards, Hard Drives, Raid Cards, Fiber Cards.
The 12 core machine is two 6-Core "Westmere" processors
The 8 core machine is two 4-core "Westmere" processors
The 4 core machine is one 4-core "Nehalem"
The Westmere is a improved variation of the nehalem. With great price performance ratio.
Westmare allow for 12 cores. The Westmere has 3 times faster AES, pages up to 1GB, and improved VMX. (better encryption and virtualization)
With two more cores, there is one third more heat. To compensate for more heat the processor runs at a slightly slower speed. You still get better performance; because you have more cores. When not all cores are in use, the other cores can actually run faster then the chip is rated.

  • Core image and acd compatible cards for cube

I recently bought a second hand G4 Cube online and I am going to update it to Tiger. Now I haven't received the cube yet, but I was thinking along with the OS update, to change the graphics card too with something better. The cube has the Apple Cinema Display along and Tiger have core image. I can find a list with the core image compatible cards on this site, but I cannot find anywhere a list with all the cards that support both acd and core image and are agp x2 compatible. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks
    Christos

For a Cube, I think there is only one possibility for both ADC and Core Image.
The Radeon 9700 which shipped with G4 MDDs.
    Here is one, priced insanely...
    Link
From the picture, it looks like this particular one is 4x/8x AGP only (the AGP connector is shown with only one notch instead of 2).
One other possibility would be to use a compatible Radeon 9800 or Geforce 6200 and an (expensive) ADC adapter like this one.

  • T530 with 2 display adapters - NVIDIA NVS 5400M and Intel HD Graphics 4000 Drivers not loading

Both the Nvidia and Intel graphic drivers show in device manager that they have problem and can't load properly. I have tried uninstalling both they both reinstalled on a reboot with same issues. Is this hardware or corrupt drivers?? Or?

Failure progressed to a point where I could login remotely (GoToAssist) and see the screen but the LCD and External Monitor both were black.
Called tech support, they dispatched a tech (after 3 days, and a bunch of phone calls).  They replaced the system board and display board?  same problem.  Their answer was I needed to reimage the machine.
I found out that Windows had done an update.  We did a system restore to before the update (30 some updates) and restored the local displays.
BUT....both the NVidia and Intel HP Graphics devices in Device Manager indicate problems.  And this was after reinstalling the video drivers I pulled down from Lenovo.
Any thoughts on where I go next??  Lenovo has washed their hands of this problem....
I am about to wash my hands of Lenovo as a vendor for PCs.

  • Difference between Intel Core Duo and Intel Core 2 Duo

I bought my MBP in November of last year, before the update on the Pros. However, it says about the new Pros that they have Intel Core 2 Duo processors, which are faster than the Intel Core Duos of previous MBPs. I know I bought mine before they updated them, but my "About This Mac" says that mine has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. So, did they update the processors before this latest update, or do have one of the new Macbooks somehow, or what happened? And, is there any difference between my 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, and a 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo?

Only the original Intel machines came with Core Duo processors. The principal difference is that Core Duos are 32-bit and Core 2 Duos are 64-bit processors. There were also increases in available clock speed, L2 cache, and frontside bus speed. The first models only addressed 2 GBs of RAM. Later models had a different memory controller that enabled 3 GBs of user accessible RAM (4 GBs installed) and even later models such as yours had a memory controller that enabled accessing 4 GBs of RAM (4 GBs installed.)
The first Intel Minis came with a Core Solo processor which had only one core instead of two.

  • Adobe CS4 OpenGL issues with 10.6.2 and Intel GMA950 video card

I just upgraded to Adobe CS4 and in PS I cannot enable OpenGL. I'm running 10.6.2 on a Macbook with the Intel GMA950 video card.
I was wondering if 10.6.2 does not have the relevant drivers for CS4 to recognize this chipset or that since the video card is integrated (as opposed to a stand alone with the newer Macbooks) that Intel has not update the drivers? It ***** since I cannot use some functions inside PS without OpenGL.

Hello blue20 & welcome to discussions
1.) You can search these forums for the topic of:
    Adobe CS4 GMA950
As an example, if you haven't already, in an effort to parse what's already been discussed.
2.) Have you looked at any of the Adobe forums:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2356530
3.) How many fonts are you working with?
The general approach at this time is to ask if you've checked for any problematic fonts (all languages) with Apple's Font Book (look in the Applications folder). Find and remove all duplicates also.
Start there to be sure all fonts that are in play come out with a clean bill of health.
Don't hesisate to perform wholesale deletion of old and/or little used fonts - be skeptical of anything that has come from Office 2008, including those related to an Equation Editor installation.
By all means be sure any 3rd party apps AND plug-ins are Snow Leopard compatible.
An additional measure is to clear the existing font caches:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/139383/2009/03/fontcacheclear.html
That said, 10.6.2 release notes have this to say about fonts:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3874
    Fonts fixes provided for:
    • an issue with font spacing
    • an issue in which some Fonts are missing
    • font duplication issues
    • an issue with some PostScript Type 1 fonts not working properly
    Good luck in any case.

  • Mac book Pro and Intel Iris Graphics 6100 compatible with Adobe CC?

I did not see it on this list: https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/kb/gpu-performance-preview-improvements.html

  • Image crashed due to Graphic Processor Acceleration

Please take a look at the toy's wheel behind the baby. It appears when I turn on the "Graphic Processor Acceleration". Yet the exported image is absolutely fine.
It looks fine when I turn it off or switch to basic mode(sometimes).
FYI, I'm using ATI Radeon HD 7770. Would you provide a fix?

when you turn on your PC, press & tap f10 key to go in BIOS setting,.
do a self test memory check & also H.D.D self test
if every thing is oki, do wht service center ppl will do
Install Windows 7 & check if it works Fine (as windows 7 does not need any additional driver to be installed after, it will be installed automatically)
Note:- make shur if you have Recovery Disk Created be4 Clean installation.
anyway if your PC is infected with any virus this could happen,. virus can be removed by only two ways
by Antivirus or Destroying every single partition (Destructive Installation)

  • CS6 and Intel HD Graphics 2000?

    Hi there,
I've recently had CS6 installed on my PC at work by my IT department and had issues with video playback. Simple transitions between clips or video titles appearing can make performance pretty sluggish.
My PC is running Intel HD Graphics 2000 intergrated GPU. These are the specs listed within the adapter settings:
Total Available Graphics Memory: 1760 MB
    Dedicated Video Memory: 128 MB
    System Video Memory: 0 MB
    Shared System Memory: 1632 MB
Would this explain the poor performance?
The rest of the PC specs are adequate: Windows 7, 64bit, i5-2400S Quad 2.5Ghz, 8GB RAM
    Any help would be appreciated!

Hmmm good point. One project I'm currently editing is using a bunch of .MOV files shot with a Canon 550d. 25fps 1920x1080. This is the one I'm having playback issues with.
I just loaded up another project with test footage shot on a Panasonic HC-X900 (MPEG-4 AVC/ H.264) - http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Products/Camcorders/Expert+HD+Camcorders/HC-X900/Ove rview/8535400/index.html - It's only a few short clips but playback was heaps better, even when cranked up to full quality.
Prehaps this is the issue? The project using the .MOV files didn't have any issues when editing on my personal laptop, however I do have a dedicated graphics card.

  • Core image and the Nvidia Geforce 4 4600 ti

Hi, have a G4 dp 1.25 m8570 os 10.5.8 ,just installed a used ti 4600 which should support core image
but in the about this mac the card shows up as device id 0x0250, rev id 0x00a3, rom1105 , but it says core image is software based, it is connected to apple studio display 17" crt with ADC connector, 1280
x 1024 at 75 hz. the card seems to work fine , so how do I get the core image to work?

IN a perfect world, you would get an OEM Radeon 9700 and it would give you Core Image while maintaining ADC connection.
But you may find thast card nearly impossible to find. Aside from which, having your G4 use it's power supply to run an Apple CRT is probably not best solution.
A flashed Radeon 9800 or better coupled with a an ADC to DVI connector would relieve your G4 of powering the display AND give you Core Image.

  • Systemd multiseat with NVidia card and Intel integrated graphics

I'm trying to set up multiseat Gnome 3 on a system running the nvidia proprietary drivers. The first seat on the nvidia GPU is working fine. For the second seat I'm trying to use an integrated Intel GPU, but all I get is the GDM "Oh no, something has gone wrong" screen. I'm not sure why, but I suspect it could be because the intel driver is also trying to load nvidia's libglx.so:

Unfortunately the config file for the second X server is /run/systemd/multi-session-x/seat1, which is not persistent. Is there any other way to get a different config file to the second X server, so I can force it to load the default libglx.so?
For completeness, output of seat-status is as follows:
    seat1
    Sessions: *c1
    Devices:
    ├─/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/drm/card0

    └─/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:02.0/graphics/fb1

One thing you can do to ensure highest perfomance on games is go to the Nvidia Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings, Programs, then find the game you want and set it to use only NVIDIA High Performance (or Discrete) graphics. You can't use both cards at the same time as of writing this (DirectX 11), but with the arrival of Windows 10 and DirectX 12 on July 29 you will be able to use both at once to increase performance. Until then, though, it is simply not possible to use both at once. The best option is to just use the GTX 860M.

  • System Imaging and Intel Minis

I have been stryggling for the last week to try to figure out why the 21 Intel Minis I purchased for our classroom did not NetBoot from my XServer (which I also purchased as part of the upgrade of this room). I finally traced this down to the System Image Utility which does not appear to be able to build a NetBoot image for an Intel Mini. Just to make sure that I knew what I was doing and the server was working properly, I build an image for a PPC Mini and this machine booted right away from the XServe. System Image Utility does not allow you to select an Intel Mini as the architecture (the Minis listed in the list do not specify PPC or Intel, but it clearly must be the PPC mini). What is the easiest way to build an image for the Intel Minis that will work with NetBoot?

Thanks for the feedback. I tried to do this. Although the Utility creates a boot folder that looks OK as far as the files that are supposed to be present, the log is filled with pages and pages of errors like this:
/Volumes/NetBootSP0/Image1107280801.nbi/mnt/System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Pl ugIns/Apple_DEC21x4Ethernet.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleDEC21x4Ethernet doesn't contain code for the architecture specified; skipping the kext that contains it
The Intel Minis are able to boot from the image. Maybe these errors indicate that there is no code for PPC in the image.

  • Macbook Pro i7-- GT330M and Intel HD Graphics are not swtiching

AS title, my newly bought macbook pro i7 15inch, not switching the graphic card, no matter what I. I can run iMovie and render Aperture files and MS office..all at one time, though slow, not switching. I had to download gfxCard application to FORCE it. I think mine is faulty--this is the 4th computer I exchanged within 5 days, as the last ones all have defects. I wonder if this is a defect as well??

Are you using gmail account under Apple Mail?
Reportedly Mavericks Apple Mail does not play well with gmail.  It will download all your emails which can be a lot of email.  It reportedly can take a few days to get it all.
Another issue with MAcbook Pro Early 2008 is they do not handle hard drive upgrades well. Mine cannot * reliably * operate at SATA II.

  • Snow Leopard and Intel 3.06gz processor

I wanted to know why the Macbook Pro models with the upgraded processor to 3.06ghz are not considered for the Snow Leopard upgrade $9.95 discount?

What makes you think it's not covered? Yes, I know the 3.06 GHz processor is not listed in the Description column. That's because that model is simply a CTO upgrade option to the 2.8 GHz base model. If you go into the online store and add a 17" MBP with the 3.06 GHz CPU to your cart, you'll see it listed as "Part number: Z0GW" - you'll see that listed as one of the qualifying Apple Store Family Part Numbers in the table.
Essentially, any new Mac bought after June 8th that does not come with Snow Leopard is eligible. Just place the order online using the appropriate link from the up-to-date program page, or fill out the pdf form and snail mail it in.
