Core Image Fun House stopped working
I installed the developer tools so I could change the parameters of the harddrive spindown.
An added bonus was core image fun house, which is indeed fun.
Or more accurately was fun because now its stopped working. It loads fine but nothing works within the application, I have not experienced crashes or anything so its most odd.
I repaired permissions, optimised the system, re-installed the developer tool kit, removed the folder from Application support and deleted the plist file. Then after all that I restarted the mac and still nothing.
When you try to apply effects you get this in the console, regarding any effect you are trying to do:

Any ideas?
I made the tests on a Core Image enabled eMac G4 (at least this is what is reported by System Profiler.app).
I had a confirm that the software is broken from a friend of mine and I found this archived thread that reported the same error in console.log.
Any idea of what's going on?

Core Image Fun House - STILL doesn't work!
Hello,
I have been trying to get Core Image Fun House to work on my G5, and I have only able to get it to work once or twice, even my own custom-compiled version.
I use Fast User Switching on my machine, and it appears that once you have used FUS once after a boot, you never get CIFH to work again. The program loads, but no effects work.
I thought by 10.4.6, Apple might have fixed this, but no dice.
Evidence of a problem is always in console.log, and it looks like this:
2006-04-04 17:38:43.015 Core Image Fun House[2378] CIGlassDistortion: glassDistort: nil value for argument #0 (tex0)
Can anyone else corroborate?
Thanks, because I am getting tired of this and really want to program with Core Image....
DrewI just tried it for the first time (amusing program!), and it works OK with fast user switching for me. I had it running under two users, one an admin user, the other a normal user, switched back and forth a couple times, worked under both worlds. Quit the program and restarted, kept working.

"Adobe Media Core CS5.5 has stopped working"
Whenever I try to encode using the Quicktime-H.264 codec in Adobe Media Encoder, I get a crash that states "Adobe Media Core CS5.5 has stopped working". Also I have tried to encode using this codec directly within Premiere Pro with the "Export" button instead of the "Queue" button, but the encode doesn't progress and eventually locks up the application. I have downloaded the most current version of Quicktime, and have made sure that all of my Adobe products are up-to-date. Encoding with other Quicktime codecs such as "Animation" work, but the h.264 just will not.
What has me confused is that we just upgraded to new computers and did a clean install of CS5.5. Encoding with this codec works just fine on the old machines. Below you will see my system info as well as the error "Problem Signature". Any help to resolve this issue?

Image resize function stopped working
I have been using Elements for quite a few years and have had no problem in resizing images until last week. I often use the option of resizing using the cm measurements I want. When I tried this on my laptop last week the programme would not allow me to change any of the figures in the resizing dialog box. I tried cm, pixels and percentage and none of them would work.
I tried a number of different images from one file but could not resize any of them however I opened an image from another file which I know i have resi9zed in the past and this time the function worked fine.
I copied the image I couldn't resize to my main computer which also has Photoshop Elements and the resize function worked fine on this computer.
I uninstalled Elements and then re-installed it on my laptop but still have the same problem. I also have Photosphop Cs4 on my laptop and the resize function has stopped working in this programme as well.
Hope someone can help. The editor saved prefs often get corrupted. You may need to rebuild the editor preferences to resolve any conflicts.
Hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously click on the Edit button on the welcome screen. Release the three keys and look behind the welcome screen by closing it. Or hold down the keys whilst clicking on the desktop icon for the Editor or PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Programs folder. Keep holding down all three keys until you get the settings option.
You should see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes
Then wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences.

All image editing software stopped working in 10.5
While performing a file transfer from my camera the program I was using, PictureProject unexpectedly quit. Following that it quit immediately upon every re-launch, however all the files had been transferred. The next day I attempted to launch Picture Project again and it quit while unresponsive. After that I tried Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Fireworks, both bounced in the dock as if to launch, then would stop and on the control-click said "Application Not Responding." After that I tried PictureProject again, now it failed to launch without an error message and would not force quit. I restarted several times with "P" "R". Then I tried using the disk utility from the start-up disk, a "volume mounting(?)" damage was repaired. I also repaired permissions, then restarted. The problem was not fixed. Then I tried accessing the applications from a guest account rather than my user account, nothing worked, I also discoverd that iPhoto is unresponsive.
I am now downloading the 10.5.8 Combo Update to see if that fixes the problem.
This is my first time posting to the forums so I apologize if I posted in the wrong section.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with their raster-based image editors? Preview continues to function normally, as does Adobe Illustrator. Any tips on fixing this issue? It sounds like your hard drive is dying. Make sure you have a good backup.

The image sequence function stopped working correctly after recent update?
I have been using this function in quicktime 7 pro several times a week on a large project for over a year. After the most recent update to mavericks, the DSLR and gopro jpegs now open in digitized chunks of random colours. I have not changed my workflow or the gear in any way. I used the exact same files on my macbook air, without the recent OS update and was able to open and export the files like normal.
The updated machine is an iMac running OS X 10.9.2 with 3.4GHz i7 and 32gbI'm still experiencing this problem. Is there anyone else who uses this function and has recently run into trouble?
What image resolution(s) are you using for your image sequences? -
Ok, I've been searching for over an hour now, so I've come here. My roomate has a macbook pro, I just bought a new macbook, so its about a year newer than his. he has an app on his mac called CORE IMAGE FUNHOUSE. this app looks like something I want but my mac doesnt seem to have it and I cant find anywhere I can download it, I read all the posts about Core image stuff, I dont really care about that, I just want to have access to this program. can someone help me out??
It's part of your Xcode 2.2 developer tools. You should find them on your install DVD.

Tools for Exploration
Tiger comes with two tools that are extremely useful for exploring the capabilities of Core Image. The first is Core Image Fun House, pictured to the right. Core Image Fun House is a simple test bed application that allows you to get started and experiment with Image Units. You can start out with a base image, apply a color control filter, an exposure adjust filter, white point adjust filter, and a color blend mode filter—all the while watching the filters being applied to the source image in real time. By using Core Image Fun House and seeing how Image Units work, you can get a feel for how Image Units could be used in your own applications.

Can't Find Core Image on Computer
I have installed Developer on my harddrive, gone to applications and find Core Audio and Core Foundation but I can't find Core Image at all. I'm wanting to experiment with it's editing features on digital images.
I have Tiger 10.4.6 and I assume I had the correct version of Developer Tools.
Need some advice.
BillCore Image is part of Quartz. It's a collection of programming APIs, not a separate application.
However, my Dev Tools installation includes a pre-built sample app called "Core Image Fun House" found in "Developer -> Applications -> Graphics Tools". There area also several Core Image example programs found in "Developer -> Examples -> Quartz -> Core Image".
If you're interested in examining the Core Image header files they can be found in "System -> Library -> Frameworks -> QuartzCore.framework -> Headers".
You might also want to experiment with "Quartz Composer" (also found in "Developer -> Applications -> Graphics Tools".
Reference documentation for all this stuff should have been installed with your copy of Xcode Tools (current version is 2.3).

Adobe Photoshop CC Has Stopped Working
This discussion is similar in title to another one except that the other was specific to getting the subject message when trying to save a file. After trying many things, I discovered something that might be help in discovering the underlying reason.
Increasingly, I've been getting the message when doing a wide variety of things within Photoshop CC. This morning, it's happened nearly every time I try doing anything. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. My video card is an Nvidia Quadro FX 3800, and I downloaded the latest driver in hopes that would solve the problem, but it didn't (I made sure there weren't any Photoshop CC updates, too.). I'd managed to plow my way through with many shutdowns and restarts. Finally, I was trying to add text. All went okay with that until I tried clicking the check mark to complete the operation. At that point, I'd get closely spaced red lines over part of the image and the stopped-working message (the same thing that had been happening all morning). I work on two monitors with the image being on a Wacom Cintiq 21UX. I'd been using the mouse to choose the check mark. When I tried using the stylus, instead, it made no difference. In addition, I uninstalled two trial font management programs, but that didn't help, either.
Part way through all this, Bridge CC stopped displaying the psd image and substituted a file icon. When I finally switched to Bridge for CS 6, the image was shown instead of the icon. That was encouraging, but the default had become Photoshop CC, and I continued with the same stopped-working problem when I opened it. Finally, I opened the file from Windows Explorer using Photoshop CS 6. This time, I was able to add the text with no problem. I'd been concerned that there might be a problem with my system, but it appears it's with Photoshop CC.Thanks, Noel. Here's what I get from Help>System Info

Scrubby Zoom and hand tool stop working out of the blue?
I checked my preferences and OpenGL is enabled, so I don't understand why it randomly stops working when I'm trying to get work done. Been working for less than four hours today and have had to restart Photoshop CS5.5 6 times. It starts working for a little while, then the "Scrubby Zoom" box becomes greyed out and the shortcut doesn't work as well. Also when I hit space (hand tool) to drag the image around, that stops working at the same time as the zoom. I'm using an Intuos4 with this, haven't had problems with it until recently but there haven't been any significant changes in my machine (PC), which has a nice graphics card, processor, etc. I'm using Google Chrome, maybe it has something to do with my browser being open at the same time as PS?
Any opinions on this are appreciated, thanks.Did you do a forum search on the word chrome? It finds this: Re: Space Bar Hand Move & CMD-Space Zoom Not Working—CS5

Ps keeps crashing after shortcuts stop working and image get screwed up when using the hand tool
Hi, ive been having problems with Photoshop Cs4 for a while.
I work with big photo files and when i have alot of layers and use the hand tool to move throughout the image this happens:
http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l114/cogubr/Screenshot2010-04-27at42352PM.png
Alot of times PS shortcut's stop working and eventually PS crashes.
I have an 27 imac 3.33 GHZ Core Duo/8GB DDR3/256MB ATI Radeon HD 4670
When im using photoshop, even if i have other softwares open at the same time I still have 5gb of ram available.
Any suggestions to solve this?I tried everything and the issues are still there.
My PS just crashed, this is the crash report:

I have an iMac version 10.6.8/2.66 GHz Intel Processor and 4 GB memory, with Safari 5.1.10. I had used Office for Mac 2008 but had to upgrade for work. The download (from Amazon) went swiftly, but when I started Word, it did not function too well. Then about an hour later I noticed that my Yahoo email site stopped working, it lost all images and the text just jumbled up on the left side of the screen. No amount of emptying caches or resets/quits/restarts did anything. I called the Internet support, and they just said it was my iMac that had the problem. I have been reduced to using MacMail as my email, but this is tenuous, as my Yahoo account keeps holding things up and constantly asking me for my password (and sometimes it does not accept it). How can I get my computer back?
The path may be long and tedious, grasshopper.
Actually, the download of Office 2011 for Mac probably was not legal and may have contained bugs or other things meant to make it unstable, or invite a host of issues. The usual path would be Office 2011 for Mac on DVD so you could reinstall it and add the extras from the disc as needed; or fix the installation later on. The updates for security were downloads from Microsoft servers. You'd need a legitmate version with pass code.
Options for Mac and office-like application suites include Libre Office, NeoOffice, and these run free. The latter supports up to Mavericks. 10.9.1 now. They have a word, excel, and other parts a lot like the real office.
If you have a working clone of the system prior to installing the Office 2011 for Mac download and any subsequent and perhaps unseen extras, you could revert to it simply by restarting the computer from the clone, where it resides in externally enclosed self-powered hard disk drive, of a type known to support OS X clones... With ports to help work with most modern Macs. FireWire + USB. Then, clone it back w/ carbon copy cloner.
Short of that, perhaps someone will see your post and offer some indepth method of hunting down bugs via use of Console logs; and maybe booting into Terminal utility to use unix code. It can be rather involved. Maybe Linc Davis will offer some detailed reply that will invite you to read carefully and try it.
I've given up using computers long ago.

After taking days to upload elements 13 I am now having trouble even trying to import my images and videos into the program for editing. Each time I IMPORT files an error message comes up that says " ....has stopped working, we are looking for a solution to the problem and will notify you if a solution is found" I have not been able to edit ANYTHING or even drag files/images to the time line.... is it me? is my computer too slow? surely if it was, then Adobe elements 13 would not have installed in the first place? please someone help me sort this out as I have a deadline to make for a docco! thanks in advance Lyddy
From the Premiere Elements Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1042180
•You MUST use an account with Administrator Privileges to run Premiere Elements
•(Doing Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 [says Encore and also for "All" versions of Premiere] will sometimes fix "odd" errors)
•What version of Premiere Elements? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Elements 12 with the 12.1 update)
•What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.9.4"---not just "Mac"
•Has this ever worked before? If so, do you recall any changes you made to Premiere Elements, such as adding Plug-ins, brushes, etc.? Did you make any changes to your system, such as updating hardware, printers or drivers; or installing/uninstalling any programs?
•Have you installed any recent program or OS updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
•What kind(s) of image file(s)? When talking about camera raw files, include the model of camera.
•If you are getting error message(s), what is the full text of the error message(s)?
•What were you doing when the problem occurred?
•What other software are you running?
•Tell us about your computer hardware. How much RAM is installed? How much free space is on your system (C:) drive?
•How many and what speed are your hard drive(s)... ie 5400rpm or 7200rpm or?
And some other questions...
•What are you editing, and does your video have an orange line over it BEFORE you do any work?
•Which version of Quicktime do you have installed?
•What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
•What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
•Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
•For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
•-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself
•nVidia Driver Downloads http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

I have a MacBook Pro 13inch 2.4GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo, 4Gb RAM, 250Gb HDD, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, SD card slot, up to 10 hour battery life) bought in October 2010. The charger has been playing up for a while now - the light going out but coming back on when I move the cable a bit - faulty connection it seems. It has now stopped working at all.
Apple UK charge a whopping £65 for a replacement - and the reviews are AWFUL for it!
I need to know which one I need - 45w, 60w and 80w are listed - can someone tell me please? If I'm going to pay this price I want to make sure I get the right one!
Also, is a genuine Apple one available on Amazon UK, does anyone know please?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Meanwhile my battery is going down.....Thanks for that wjosten. Much appreciated.
I've read here on Apple's site that the 85W version will work, as you say, and that it would run cooler with a 13" Macbook - I have a 13" MBP of course but assume this would be the same with mine. I wonder if running cooler is a good thing (it sounds as if it is) and it would be better for me to get the 85W version than the 60W one?
Then I have to decide whether to pay the (extortionate as it seems to me, though I may be wrong) £65 from Apple (bearing in mind the rotten reviews here of the Apple product), or risk a cheaper alternative from Amazon UK, at around £20 (also with various rotten reviews)... Any suggestions? Please? :-)
