Corp Time Outlook Connector

Is there any news on better sync between Corp Time and Outlook? Our company uses the old Outlook Connector tool.
Is there a newer version of Outlook Connector? I am on V3.3. I heard that there was V3.4 or V4 that has reduced many of the bugs.
Also, any news on accessing the web based Corp Time site from the new Cell Phones? I have web access on my Samsung A500 but it is only usefull on websites that have "mobile" version.
Our company also uses the old CT&S tool for accessing our Corp Time Server from outside the firewall. Kind of webmail way of getting to the calendar.
Does anyone know if there is a "mobile" version of this site tool?
The ideal solution would be a way to sync Corp Time with the calendar that is built into a cell phone, without requiring the bulk and overhead of the Palm or Windows CE OS.
Short of that, I'm open to suggestions.

Upon taking over Steltor, Oracle released new versions of most CorporateTime components (client and server), which mostly consisted of them sticking their name on the Steltor products. More significant updates have occurred since then, especially with the release of 9.0.4. Outlook Connector was initially bumped to v3.4 and Oracle released a few point releases. Functionally, versions 3.3 and 3.4 are very similar. The latest release, called Oracle Connector for Outlook 9.0.4, looks and feels much the same as well, though there are some additional features and enhancements. See the release notes:
http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/html/B12029_02/calendar.htm#1006785
Collaboration Suite includes a wireless server that might address your mobile needs, though I haven't worked with it.

  • Install error for Corporate time Outlook Connector

    I have tried installing the outlook connector to Corporate Time but it fails. I have attached the install log. While installing outlook there was no Corporate or Workgroup option. Any Ideas?

    You have installed Microsoft Outlook with an unsupported option.
    Rerun the Microsoft Outlook Setup and in Service Support page, choose Corporate or Workgroup option.
    Setup cannot continue.
    Exit CheckOutlookVersion

    To switch your Outlook client to Corporate/Workgroup mode, go to Tools -> Options.., select the "Mail Services" tab, then press the "Reconfigure Mail Support" button. You should then be presented with a wizard that will take you through the process. You may have to have the Outlook install media handy. I'm not sure. Once Outlook is in Corporate/Workgroup mode, try installing the Outlook Connector again.

  • Outlook Connector Missing/Wrong Time Appts

    I'm trying really hard to make Outlook Connector work for our organization with no success. Here are my issues ... hopefully someone else has come across them and found solutions:
    1) Some appointments aren't imported into Outlook.
    2) Those that are appear an hour earlier than the ones in Oracle.
    3) I'm not notified when a new appointment comes in (no ability to accept, reject, or make tentative.
    TIA!!
    Rick

    I had the problem of Outlook appointments showing an hour earlier than they were on the calendar server. I just fouind that by checking the automatically adjust for daylight savings time box this problem was corrected. Go to Start - Control Panel - Date and Time - Time Zone tab - check box = Automatically adjust clock for daylight savings changes.
    I just thought I was going nuts...

  • Bug in Oracle Outlook Connector 10,1,1,0,2 (1431) and Oracle Forms 6i Rel 2

    Hello,
    I installed Oracle Outlook Connector. 10,1,1,0,2 (1431)
    We are using Oracle Collaboration Suite on a 10g database.
    On the Desktop.
    I am using.
    a) MS/OFFICE Outlook 2003.
    b) Oracle Forms and Reports 6i Release 2.
    c) Oracle instance client 10.1
    d) Windows XP HOME SP2.
    What happens?
    1) Oracle Run Time Forms 6i and Oracle/MS Outlook 2003 run fine(Work) when I run them ONE AT A TIME!
    2) When I run them together(At the same time) I receive this error message. FRM-40735 ORA-06508.
    I have narrowed it down to an Oracle Connector 10g problem.
    How did I do that?
    In XP Home you can create multi-user accounts.
    I created a new user account this time I connected to Microsoft Exchange Server 2000.
    Results. Oracle runtime 6i works at the same time as MS Outlook 2003.
    I am able to use both Programs at the same time. Without any error messages.
    Next Step.
    I created a new user account and this time I used an Oracle Connector 10.1g for MS Outlook 2003.
    Results: Same error message as before. Ran the application(s) at the same time. FRM-40735 and ORA-06508
    Please help with any ideas.
    Thank you
    Dennis

    The product managers look through the forum threads periodically. Some more regularly than others. Since I only look at the forum about once a week, I'm probably the least regular of the PMs. Development also scans the forum, but less regularly.
    If you have urgent issues that requires action/response from Oracle, it is better to open an SR with Oracle Support.
    Hope that helps,

  • Oracle Outlook Connector - 3.4 works, 9.0.4.* doesn't?

    Hi,
    My company uses Oracle Corporate Time Server (not sure which version). Our accounts use LDAP to authenticate. When I use Outlook 2002 with Outlook Connector 3.4, everything works. However - when I use it with Oracle Connector 9.0.4.* or later I fail to connect to the calendar server - it tells me username is not recognized. The same username (I checked) works with version 3.4.
    Anyone seen this problem?
    Anxious to use Outlook 2003 - which is why I tried upgrading to Outlook Connector 9.0.4.11 as it supports Outlook 2003.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Dennis,
    Thanks very much.. I will try that today. I've found so many sites adverstising the use of 3.4 for calendar configuration - and have to guess that this problem with 9.0.4.* may be the problem. Will let you know.
    Cheers,

  • Outlook Connector and shared calendar

    Hi.
    Looking for some help troubleshooting an issue with shared calendar functionality from Outlook using the Connector.
    All server bits are JES-R2. Connector version is 6.0.129.
    Connector is working for the most part, but when I try to subscribe to another users calendar from Outlook it is failing. Even when I do a search, and pick the user from the list, the lookup fails to return the user and I get "User not found. Either enter the email id of the user OR click on Search and then click Find to locate the user."
    The ldap search I'm seeing in the access logs is curious in the sense that it seems to binding with dn="".
    [23/Jun/2004:15:18:54 -0400] conn=346 op=0 msgId=1 - BIND dn="" method=128 versi
    on=2

    egration.com,dc=msgdemo,dc=isdintegration,dc=com" scope=2 filter="(uid=test1@msg

    [23/Jun/2004:15:18:54 -0400] conn=346 op=1 msgId=2 - RESULT err=0 tag=101 nentri

    [23/Jun/2004:15:18:55 -0400] conn=346 op=-1 msgId=-1 - closed.
    This is returning 0 entries, and I believe this is why it is failing. I believe the connector is probably using this search to retrieve the users calendar_id.
    If I type the uid into the dialog box (to subscribe) I get this in the ldap:

    Thanks,

    If someone is still following this thread:
    The problem seems to stem from the fact that the subscribe to calendar function from the connector (outlook) is searching ldap on uid, but using an email address as a value:

  • Outlook Connector 7.3 Outlook fails to sync with folders

    Hi all,
    I know this is a somewhat older product - we are running Sun Java System Communications Express. We are using Outlook 2003 as the e-mail client with Outlook connector 7.3 installed. For the vast majority of staff the connector is working fine, however, with have a few users whose subfolders will not sync up with the server. I have tried the following solution:
    Right Click “Folders – User Name” and select “Properties for Folders - Username”
    Click the “Advanced” button (bottom right)
    Select “Advanced” Tab
    Click “Synchronize All” button
    Tick the box for “Empty all the Mail, Calendar, Task and contact items”
    Click “Yes” button
    Click Ok, OK and Ok to return to Outlook
    Close Outlook
    Open Outlook and select a sub folder - it should then synchronise with the server.
    This has not worked in fact the user who tested this for me reported back saying that even more folders where not syncing that previously were.
    Does anyone know of any work arounds / Solutions to this issue? I do not wish to spend too much time on the problem as we are currently looking to migrate to a new mail system and the Outlook connector is only a stop gap solution.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards
    Phil

    FYI;
    It appears that a combination of anonymous binding and the search filter caused this issue

  • Outlook connector crashes with Office 2007 SP2

    Hello. Microsoft has started pushing out Office 2007 SP2, resulting in Outlook crashes for Connector users who apply the patch. The only workaround we've found is to restore the users's system with Windows Restore, and then hide SP2 with Windows Update. A Connector uninstall restores normal Outlook operation. A reinstall of the Connector does not fix the problem.

    Is there a solution? Will a patch will be issued for Connector 7.2? I haven't tried Connector 7.3 because our messaging and calendar servers don't meet its version requirements.
    David.

    We're seeing the same issue with Office 2007 SP2 and Connector 7.3 Update1. We're running JCS 5 (roughly Update 1 patches on top of it).
    Here's the MS error each time. I can click on Calendar, Contacts, and Tasks. As soon as I click on any email folder, crash.

    I also tried this with the Office 2007 Outlook Feature pack (also contained within SP2) that was released early for various performance fixes. Same error issue. I resolved by uninstalling the Feature Pack. I tried uninstalling SP2, no luck. I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling the SJ Connector, no luck.
    I will check desktop search, see if I can turn it off for Outlook and see what occurs.

    My outlook connector has been having issues since yesterday.
    Outlook 2007 - connector ver 14.0.6123.5001
    I can get in to my online email but Outlook 2007 will not connect.
    Here's what Outlook says in the detailed description;

    The network connection was interrupted. Make sure your network cable is  attached properly to your computer. If you still cannot connect, try again later.

    Hi,
    As Diane suggested, you can restore to a point to verify whether it's caused by an update. But before this, please let me know your current Office and Outlook build number so that I can take further action if you can confirm it's an update problem.

  • Outlook Connector update issue

    Hello everyone.
    I have noticed that on several of my users computers an Outlook Connector update 7.1.xxx to 7.1.xx1 causes the computer to reboot without warning after the successful update.
    It is not everyone but seems to be isolated to the original testers we established some time ago.
    Has anyone else seen this behavior?
    Can anyone recommend a solution or a way to debug further?
    Computer info.
    Windows XP SP2
    Outlook 2003
    Cheers,
    joe.

    No clue, unfortunately. I installed a new USB card reader, and that makes my windows box blue-screen randomly. I'm trying to get off windows. ..

  • Sharing Address Books in Outlook Connector

    Hi All,
    My apologies if this matter has already been dealt with before, but after trying 3 times to make a support call (and being cut-off each time) I have given up in frustration and am asking for help from the group.
    We are using JES 2005Q4 and Outlook Connector 7.3.
    Some of our users like to share their contacts, and while this is possible using the Connector, I have discovered that if the user is in a different OrgUnit (ie ou=) they dont seem to be able to do this.
    I have set up the Directory ACI's and VLV indexes as per the instructions.
    Is this possible in this version of JES or is there something else I am missing?

    Bruggy wrote:

    Also I should point out that OC7.3 is not supported with JES 4. You need to be running Comm-Suite-5 and above components as per:
    http://wikis.sun.com/display/CommSuite6/Communications+Suite+6+Component+Products+Release+Notes#CommunicationsSuite6ComponentProductsReleaseNotes-RequirementsforOC7.3

    Is this possible in this version of JES or is there something else I am missing?RFE #6540097 - "get_subscribable_books.wabp does not account for multiple containers".
    The following is from the RFE comments however from memory this was also included in the UWC/CE patch readme:
    <snip>
    A new property is introduced in this fix called "db.sharePabContacts" and it has to be enabled
    in the following properties file:
    /var/opt/SUNWuwc/WEB-INF/domain/personalstore.properties
    By default, this property is set to false. Customers who want to avail this functionality have to
    enable this feature by setting it to "true" in the above mentioned properties file:
    E.g: db.sharePabContacts = true
    With this fix, it is now possible to share the Personal Addressbook with users across different
    organizational units but within the same domain and with users whose dn does not begin with uid.
    For eg:
    A user with a "dn" value :
    uid=foo,ou=people,o=domain.com,dc=sun,dc=com
    can share his Personal Address Book with a user who has a dn (NOTE: dn is not of the form "uid=..."):
    cn=bar,ou=people,o=domain.com,dc=sun,dc=com
    Also, users in one organizational unit within the same domain can now share their
    Personal Addressbook with users in other organizational units:
    For e.g.:
    A user in one organizational unit (e.g. ou=employees) in a domain with dn such as mentioned below:
    uid=foo,ou=employees,o=domain.com,dc=sun,dc=com
    can now share his contacts with a user in another organizational unit (e.g. ou=contractors) within
    the same domain such as follows:
    uid=bar,ou=contractors,o=domain.com,dc=sun,dc=com
    </snip>
    This RFE was implemented in UWC6.2 point-patch 125819-09 and above and also in UWC6.3 patch 122793-18 and above. You will still need to log a support-case (use the online method to avoid having to make a phone call) to get a copy of the UWC6.2 point-patch (125819-14 is the latest).

  • Adb sync not working for commsync and outlook connector after Patch 122793-

    Hello,
    I have opened the case 71038740 for this problem.
    We have upgraded communication express:
    v6.3-4.01 (Patch 122793-17,) ==> v6.3-11.01 (Patch 122793-24)
    Communication Express seems to work fine but the adb
    synchronisation for outlook connector and commsync does not work anymore.
    The errors that we have are:

    Looking at a specific session we also have:

    It looks like it is trying to opening
    domain/unige.ch/personalstore.properties instead of
    domain/personalstore.properties.
    From what I see, we did not have this error in the previous version.
    What is weird, that adb seems to work fine in uwc web interface.
    I add the http dialog for the ones who may help me to debug:

  • Microsoft Outlook truncates messagies before sending (Outlook Connector)

    Using Outlook Connector, connectod to SUN messaging server, when new message or REPLY is composed, and SENT, outlook sends just a part of a message - last edited lines just disappears. receiver receives truncated message, and truncated message appears in SENT folder.
    It seems to be "Autosave problem". That Outlook sends LAST DRAFT auto saved message version?
    When Outlook autosave is set OFF, composing and sending works fine.
    Problem appears on different workstations: Windows XP, Windows VISTA, Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007....
    Does anybody knows solution for this? Or this is server configuration problem?

    >
    In future please provide the exact version of Outlook Connector that you are running.
    Using Outlook Connector, connectod to SUN messaging server, when new message or REPLY is composed, and SENT, outlook sends just a part of a message - last edited lines just disappears. receiver receives truncated message, and truncated message appears in SENT folder.This sounds like a known issue that was fixed some time ago:
    bug #6441043 - "after autosave and continue to edit text is lost".
    Can you reproduce this problem with the latest version of Outlook Connector (OC7.3 - 139162-01) which can be downloaded via sunsolve.sun.com?
