Corporate Directory not working

We recently changed our DNS servers and the domain suffix used in our environment. We updated the new DNS suffix everywhere we found it.
The problem that we have had since we made that change is that the Corporate directory won't come up on the phones.

Sorry after posting this message I realized that the phones hadn't been reset since the change was made so they were using an old DNS server.

  • Corporate connectivity not working for some users

    Hi,
    I'm having an issue that started about a month ago but is getting worse.  A select group of users are no longer able to connect using DirectAccess, even though these users have been using their computers for a few months without issue.
    BACKGROUND:
    -Windows 2008 R2 DirectAccess server
    -Windows 7 x64 enterprise clients
    -Most clients experiencing the issue have a newer laptop (Lenovo T440 with Intel 7260AC wireless), but the issue is not limited to this model. Also, I have 25+ other Lenovo T440 units that connect without issue to this day.
    TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS:
    I have tried disabling the various interfaces used for directaccess on these problem machines and have not been able to narrow it down.  Essentially- I've noticed the IP-HTTPS interface shows deactivated, so I'll disable Teredo.  This
    usually allows the IP-HTTPS to show activated, and connectivity is restored.  However, after 30 seconds to a few minutes, connectivity will once again drop.  So I'll re-enable teredo (default,client, or enterprise client) and connectivity will kick
    on for another brief period, but drops again shortly after.
    I have confirmed that during these short periods of connectivity working, the wf.msc shows connectivity using NTLM and Kerberos, but the clients just can't seem to stay connected on any interface.
    However, in the wf.msc when the clients are not functioning, I only ever see one NTLM entry.

    LOGS:
    Below is a directaccess client log pulled from a non-functioning client before making any changes or any testing.  Feel free to ask for the rest of the log if needed-- I have put in place holders for information that may be sensitive.  Thank you!!
    RED: Corporate connectivity is not working.
    Windows is unable to relocationve corporate network names. Please contact your administrator if this problem persists.

  • Absolute links on hml page in local directory not working

    All the absolute links on my html pages (which are on my hardrive) are being treated as local links and are therefore not working - i.e. Firefox is adding the local file path before the url. For example, the original link is: http://www.insidehousing.co.uk/legal/criminal-conviction-for-illegally-subletting-tenant/6518844.article
    But Firefox is adding the directory path so the url string becomes: /www.insidehousing.co.uk/legal/criminal-conviction-for-illegally-subletting-tenant/6518844.article%E2%80%9D
    It is also being appended with: %E2%80%9D (which, when tested from a Word page, leads to site but generates page not found error).
    For testing purposes, is there any way I can reconfigure Firefox to parse my links as absolute?
    Many thanks

    Thanks, both. I have carried out cor-el's suggestion of replacing the smart quotes with dumb quotes, then tried viewing link on file again using different encoading, including UTF-16 - same result as before.
    Below I've set the HTML of the whole page, as per yalam96's request (it includes cor-el's suggested fix to the "prosecute" link):
    <pre><nowiki><h3>Who do you need to inform (in the UK)?</h3>
    <p>If you have a mortgage, you will need to inform your provider (with most lenders this shouldn't be an issue – you do not need “consent to let” as you would if you were letting out the whole property) but you do still need to inform them; why? This is partly for the protection of your lodger, if you should default on the mortgage or die, but mostly for your own protection – if the property was destroyed or badly damaged because of the negligence of your lodger.</p>
    <p>If own your property and it's leasehold, check the lease – you may need permission from the freeholder.</p>
    <p>If you rent your property, you will need to firstly check with your landlord (this applies whether you rent privately or from a public landlord – Local Authority or Housing Association), and get their permission in writing, just as you would with a mortgage provider. Incidently, in the UK, a public landlord is only likely to object to the let if moving a lodger in would mean your home becomes over crowded (e.g. you have a two bed flat and your children would have to share your bedroom). They will also object – they might even <a href=&#x201d;http://www.insidehousing.co.uk/legal/criminal-conviction-for-illegally-subletting-tenant/6518844.article&#x22;>prosecute</a> - if you move out and let the whole property to the “lodger” (who wouldn't be a lodger in that case, but a full tenant, with full tenant's rights).</p>
    <p>You may also need to cancel any existing residential home insurance and take out <a href=”http://www.landlordinsurance.biz/landlord-insurance-guides/landlord-insurance-faq/”>landlord insurance</a>. A few residential policies will, however, allow lodgers. Landlord insurance will not cover the lodger's possessions, they will need to get their own insurance, known as Tenant Insurance – policies can be compared on sites such as <a href=”http://www.confused.com/campaign/home-insurance/tenants-content-insurance?MediaCode=1054&kw=lodger+contents+insurance+broad&gclid=CPbbn9-Nj7MCFanItAod3GAAog”>confused.com</a></p>
    <p>If you get a single occupier's discount on your council tax, you will need to inform your local authority, unless your lodger is <a href=”https://www.gov.uk/council-tax/council-tax-exemptions”>exempt</a> from paying council tax (e.g. they're a university student).</p>
    <p>NB People claiming Jobseeker's Allowance and most other benefit claimants are <b>not</b> exempt – they are, however, usually entitled to Council Tax Benefit to help with some or all the cost of their council tax.</p>
    <p>If you're letting on a Monday – Friday basis (to someone who only needs a week night let), this person would not normally pay council tax at your property, as they already pay against their main (family) home. However, if for whatever reason you and your Monday – Friday lodger decided that they would use your address as their main home, they would then become liable to pay council tax at your address and you would lose any single occupier's discount.</p>
    <p>If you claim any kind of means tested benefit (such as job seeker's allowance, housing benefit or council tax benefit) as benefit rules currently stand (January 2013) your rental income will affect this. <b>Contribution</b> based Job Seeker's allowance (JSA(C)) will be affected if your weekly rental income exceeds £50. If you're on income based jobseeker's allowance (JSA(I)), it's very likely to be affected; however, to what extent will depend on your rental earnings and circumstances and a DWP adjudicator will decide this.</p>
    <p>However, from October 2013, when Universal Credit takes effect in the UK, <a href=”http://www.insidehousing.co.uk/tenancies/lodger-rules-to-ease-impact-of-bedroom-tax/6522846.article?MsgId=57059”>a <b>public housing</b> tenant's income from renting a room will no longer affect their benefit entitlement.</a></p></nowiki></pre>

  • Leopard Client Tiger server mobile home directory not working... hmmm

    Mobile home directory is not working for my leopard clients with my tiger server.
    I can log in via the Apple server account that is set for mobile.
    On my tiger clients it prompts me to confirm my mobile account on log in and everything works fine if i unplug the network cable.
    on my leopard clients no prompt at log in. so i go to account under system prefs and see that the account says mobile..and i click on make mobile account in the account pane in system prefs says will reboot and make account.. prompts for password for mobile account i put it in and then it says there was an error in making mobile account and then it takes me back to the main log in window.
    every client i have on leopard does this...
    am i missing something?
    thanks in advance,
    Jesse

    Tiger server can control mobile account syncing and other features present on Tiger clients.

  • Screen sharing mobile account (open directory) not working

    Can anybody else verify that screen sharing, through Remote Management, does not work when trying to connect to mobile accounts on 10.7 Lion?
    Please note, when I say through Remote Management, I mean that under System Prefs->Sharing->Screen Sharing is disabled but Remote Management is enabled. (Remote Management being able to provide it's own screen sharing)
    Also I dont mean VNC... please make sure the "VNC viewers may control my screen with password" option is turned off under System Prefs->Sharing->Remote Management->Computer Settings

    I can confirm this. Same experience here on a 10.7.2 Mac.
    I get a "Please verify you have entered the correct name and password".
    Does this work on 10.6? I'm unable to check at the moment.

  • Active Directory and Open Directory not working

    I am experiencing an issue, or several issues that I can't figure out how to resolve.
    I have an Active Directory domain set up (running 2003 server R2) and it is humming along quite nicely.
    A few weeks ago I got a new XServe running 10.5.4. Booted it up, bound it to AD, and then set up and OD Master on it so that I could manage some new Macs that we have.
    The Macs are bound to both directories.
    The issue I have comes in when using Workgroup Manager, and trying to add AD user to OD groups. The groups drawer is open, but the little directory menu at the top of the drawer does not include the entry for Active Directory. I see Local, Search Policy, and /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1...
    If I try to pull down the directory menu above the user list, I see the following: Loca, Search Policy, Other..., /Active Directory/All Domains, and /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1.
    If I select /Active Directory/All Domains from that list I get the following error.
    +Unable to open the requested node.+
    +The node /Active Directory/All Domains couldn’t be opened because an unexpected error of type -14002 occurred.+
    I think these issues are related, but I can find no help on the first item (AD not showing up in the groups menu)
    and a search for the second item only reveals the following page form Apple, which means absolutely nothing to me.
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Networking/Reference/OpenDirectoryRef/Reference/reference.html
    The killer is that this all worked at one point. I had an Apple Tech out here and he helped me set up this 'Golden Triangle" method of authenticating against both directories. And it works... sort of... I can create groups in OD and add OD machine accounts to the group to enforce some settings. But I can't bring in AD users, cause I can't see the AD user list.
    I hear that this is supposed to work... I can't figure it out.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks for your time.
    Bill

    Hi
    Can you access Active Directory from the command line using dscl?
    In what order are the LDAP directories listed in Directory Utility on the Server?
    Is Kerberos running on the OD Master?
    If you issue klist from the command line on the server itself - what is the result?
    Or don't bother with any of the above and start again. You've nothing to lose anyway apart from some managed preferences which you can redo in little time. Scrub the configuration in the AD plug-in and demote to Standalone. Restart and go for an AD rebind. Make sure the edu.mit.Kerberos file is created in /Library/Preferences. Launch WGM and you should see AD Users and Groups this time, If you do go for promotion again. What you want to see in the OD Overview pane is everything running apart from Kerberos and the search base reflecting the FQDN of the OD Master. Make sure there is the loopback entry (127.0.0.1) in the LDAPv3 plug in. Finally make sure the OD Master lists itself first in the Directory Search Order.
    I'm assuming the Server is configured as Advanced and is updated to 10.5.4.

  • Moving itunes directory not working

    HI, I have tried  moving my music to new directory hasn't worked. I went to preferences - Advanced- changed the location of my Itunes media folder to the new drive and yet every time I play a song I have to locate it, it doesn't play automatically. Can you help?

    When I want to move an e-mail from Trash to any other folder, it won't work.  When I select the 'To' folder in the drop-down list, the blue check mark moves briefly from the current folder to the target oen, but then it goes back to the current folder.  The e-mail will not move to the new folder.  I am using the built-in e-mail software on OS version 1.3.5.1.  Does anyone have the same problem or know how to fix it?

  • Active Directory not working Windows Server 2003 R2

    Hi,
    Like the subject said my root problem is either my Active Directory or DSN server. In order to properly explain the situation I will have to make the full Story. I was contacted by a family member to help
    out a Non profit organisation with there server problem. Their current config is Windows Server 2003 R2 Running DC,AD,DNS,DCHP,File Services( i know is not efficient).
    Here is how I come in to play, prior of me helping the had another server running same spec started having hardware failure and the invested in a new server. The person that set it up did replicate the server
    on the new one as far as AC and Domain controller but nothing else. We ll now the DC01 failed and no user cannot login into a new computer
    or if a new employee will try to added the changes don't take effect. Seeing the situation I went for the basic and seize fsmo roles to the new server. Perform Metadata clean up. Configure the DC02 as Master Domain Controller. Now everything
    is set up and running but still No new user can be added or any exiting can log in
    a different computer. At this point am out of answer I try everything I found in the forum. Am almost to the verge of deleting all and start
    from scratch me knowing all config. Sorry for the long story am not good on resuming stuff. Please let me know If I need to add any other detail
    I repeat DC01 is DEAD...
    Also when a new user try to login or an existing user try to loging they get the system cannot log you on now because the domain is not available

    Not Sure if this is the info requested but I ran the commands

  • Password reset with external directory not working in realm mode

    I am using SUn acess manager 7 2005 @4 patch 5
    I have configured a realm to point to external directory .I am able to create the user in the subject tab. Able to authenticate to the user in realm and set its security question.
    But when i try to reset the password using /ampassowrd?relam=realmname
    I get an error message Error
    The password cannot be reset for this user.
    1) When i check the logs i find that user is being searched in amconfig direcectory and not the external directory which the realm points to?
    2) Also if i create add in datastrore the amsdk as well and create the user reset it get created in both external directory and amconfig directory?Then i am able to reset the password but it changes only in amconfig directory and not in external directory?
    Can some tell how to make sure that password reset looks at right directory based on relam

    have you had any breakthrough? I am in same situation here

  • File.openWithDefaultApplication()  to open directory not working from release build

    Hi,
    I'm trying to use the File.openWithDefaultApplication() method to open a directory location.  I'm running on Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, but have also tested on Windows XP Professional 32-bit with the same result.
    The method works fine if I run the app from Flash Builder 4 (either run or debug), but when I try it from a release build it doesn't work.  I've exported the release build as a native installer, and I updated the <supportedProfiles> tag in the app's XML to only support "extendedDesktop".  That hasn't changed the behavior, however.
    Here's an example of how I'm calling the method:
            var thedir:File = File.applicationStorageDirectory;
            thedir = thedir.resolvePath("the_directory");
            if (!thedir.exists)
              thedir.createDirectory();
            thedir.openWithDefaultApplication();
    Any idea what's going on?
    As an aside, if I try to open individual files in the release build, it works fine.  So far only opening a directory is a problem.  And, I verified the directory exists before trying to open it.
    Thanks for any insight you can offer...
    Best,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    Instead of using openWithDefaultApplication(), try using native process and calling "explorer" on windows, and "open" on mac, then pass the folder path as an argument.  Something like this windows example:
    private function openWindowsFolder():void
         var explorer:File = new File("C:\\Windows\\explorer.exe");
         if (explorer.exists)
              var nativeProcessStartupInfo:NativeProcessStartupInfo = new NativeProcessStartupInfo();
              nativeProcessStartupInfo.executable = explorer;
              var args:Vector.<String> = new Vector.<String>();
              args.push("C:\\Windows");
              nativeProcessStartupInfo.arguments = args;
              process = new NativeProcess();
              process.start(nativeProcessStartupInfo);
    Hope this helps,
    Chris

  • Delete all files in a directory not working for some files

    I have a requirement like wants to delete all the files in a directory. (These files got generated through some other program.)
    Problem is file.delete() is returning false for some of the files..
    (donno the reason .. could be bcoz of file closing issues/locking issues.)
    Looking for a solution where i can delete a file forcefully irrespective of whether the file is opened or not.
    Thanks
    Srini

    are you on windows? if so, it's almost impossible to delete something another process has open.

  • Open Directory not working for AFP authentication

    Scenario:
    - Running OS X Server (10.9) using FileSharing with AFP to share to multiple users.
    - Currently the users login with local user accounts to gain access.  I'd like to use our Open Directory server to authenticate instead (save me maintaining local users).
    Issue:
    - I added the OD server to Apple > System Prefs > Users > Login Options but when users attempt to login with their OD name/password, it doesn't recognize their credentials.  Their local user accounts work fine and I've added their OD names to the access list for the various directories on the server.
    I'm assuming I need to add the OD server somewhere else on the computer to get OS X to bind to it.  Appreciate any input here.

  • Returning list of files in directory not working.

    Gidday
    I'm using the following code to try to put a listing of files in a dir into an array.
    I created a dir call myDir in the same place as my .swf and .air, and placed a file in it.  But I get error messages telling me the File or directory does not exist.
    Why would this be?
    var dir:File = File.desktopDirectory.resolvePath("myDir");
    var files:Array = dir.getDirectoryListing();
    Thanks for taking a look.

    OK (still trying to get my head around the folder structure)
    Say my project exe is called test.exe, and  I also have a folder called image_files and another called text_files - how do I access the image_files folder, and how do I write txt documents to the text_files folder?  In other words, I don't want to access the user's folder, or the application storage folder, just specific folders that I have set up in my Flash as3 project.
    Or does security prevent accessing and writing to such folders?
    So how would I alter the following code to write to the text_files folder?
    function saveHandler(event:Event):void {
    var file:File = File.applicationStorageDirectory.resolvePath( "myjot.txt" );
    var jot:String = taEditor.text;
    var stream:FileStream = new FileStream();
    stream.open( file, FileMode.WRITE );
    stream.writeMultiByte( jot, File.systemCharset );
    stream.close();
    I want the user to be able to copy image and video files to the image_files folder, and then I have access to these in the air app.  So I don't want to put them in the application Storage Directory because A) like you said, it's not designed for large amounts of data, and B) I don't want the user to have to navigate to the app data folder - I want to keep navigation simple - so program files/my app/image_files (or preferably give them the option of choosing the folder where they copy their image and video files to - so it could be on d) drive for example).
    Thanks for your time and help
    Shaun
