Corporate email - gateway for ISA Server or PPTP or equivalent needed.

My IT guy told me that our companys VPN uses ISA Server and/or PPTP for the gateway. I haven't been able to set up my corporate email because none of the gateways on my 8520 seem to work. All I do on my PC is provide an IP address, domainname, user and password and I'm in. How can I configure this on my Curve 8520? Is there a "generic" gateway available to download?

Thanks, now I understand why the wifi keeps dropping. On my personal wireless network, it also seems the distance from the access point is not good compared to my laptop. At work our network & exchange teams don't seem to have the desire to struggle with this "toy" until customers start forcing its adoption. I am using OWA and it works fine over EDGE. According to the [url http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/collateral/papers/11/certification/index.html]certification page, JDev 11.1.1.3 is certified against Windows 2008 server, so I'd start by downloading the Windows version from there (even though they didn't update the description to say "for windows 2008")

I agree with Bistesh. But after Outgoing e-mail settings are configured properly, if the issue still exists,
It may result from your Anti-Virus. Please refer to the following steps:
Open MCAfee Console and go to Access Protection window.
Click Anti-Virus Standard Protection and edit “prevent mass mailing
worms from sending emails” rule.
Now we need to know which processes are being blocked therefore we need to check the MCAfee Log located at
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\DesktopProtection\AccessProtectionLog.txt
you may find entries of DtExec , DtExecUI and DatabaseMail90, now these processes need to be entered in the exclusion list of selected rule .
Reset the IIS And SharePoint Timer service to check if this works for you.

Free download of transparent gateway for SQL Server

Can anyone give me the URL where I can download the transparent gateway for SQL Server.. I searched OTN but couldn't find it. I just want to try it out..

The indicated URL also shows the zip for the 10gR2 gateways for Windows software: 10201_gateways_win32.zip
To use a gateway you also have to use an Oracle database as a so-called integrating kernel. In this Oracle database you define the database link to the gateway to be able to connect to SQL Server.
But TG4MSQL 10gR2 has been desupported, which means that bugfixing has been stopped. Also just to make clear, allthough the software can be freely downloaded the product itself requires a license when you decide to use it after testing it.
And I recommend to try the DG4MSQL 11gR1 software instead, it can also be found at Oracle Technet:

When using a 11gR1 database gateway the Oracle database you use with the gateway must be 10.2.0.4.0 or higher. Or have a closer look at Metalink document: 457808.1 - Database Patch 5965763 Required For Pre-11g Databases Using 11g Database Gateways

Oracle 9i on LINUX Transparent Gateway for SQL Server

Does anybody know if there is a Transparent Gateway available for Oracle 9i on LINUX to connect to SQL Server? I have run the installer and cannot seem to find the install options for any Transparent Gateways. I am familiar with their location in the universal installer as I have installed the Oracle/SQL Server Transparent Gateway with Oracle in WinNT. Perhaps Transparent Gateways for Oracle/LINUX are not available?

Email Alert for Specific Server Groups

We are using SCOM 2012 R2. We have windows server 2003 and 2012 servers.
I configured email alerts for this servers.
Criteria:
Notfiy on alerts
of a critical severity.
and of a high priority
and with New(0) resolution state.
I succesfully recieve alerts and emails from this configuration.
But i want to recieve email alerts from specific Windows Server 2003 servers or Windows Server 2012 servers.
I create a server 2003 and server 2008 group in scom.
I use "raised by any instance in a specific group" OR "raised by any instance of a specific class". I shutdown one of the servers. I can see alerts in scom active alerts section (hearthbeat alerts) but i cannot recieve emails about
this alerts.
If i use monitor rule (for example printer spool service rule) , I can recieve emails but it does not for work hearthbeats alerts.
I recently install Windows Server MP and Active Directory MP .

Create a group containing watchers/watcher groups for your servers and use this group in subscription filter. See this

I'm deploying (wish me luck!) my JSC application with JavaMail on a MS Server 2000 box. A little googling led me to Pegasus Mail's Mercury which I've tested and Apache James which I haven't.

Check with your company or email provider for the server. If you use a webmail, the server is also hidden sometimes in the advanced options. Are you using Outlook Web Access or some other email service that you use with the outlook application?

Download Manager with Microsoft ISA Server

Hello forum, I need help with the connection of program SAP DOWNLOAD MANAGER with ISA Server 2004
I've installed JAVA 1_4_2_13 and Download Manager, I configured the setting with the proxy connection (server ISA, user and pass)
but an error appears:
The basket content could not be read. The following exception occurred:
Unable to read data from the Service Marketplace: Check your settings and try again
In my ISA server I declared the form my IP to Internet permit all traffic out.
Somebody help me ??? what do I have to configure in my ISA Server to permit the connection?

Hi Ram, I solved the problem with download manager.
First my PC don't use as default gateway the ISA Server, I've another default gateway for my LAN.
Is it the problem because my PC never contact directly to SAP, I could solved this problem if my PC can contact directly the IP of SAP.
You will can set in your PC the gateway of ISA server and public DNS to contact SAP directly
For example:
I've default gateway 192.168.0.1 for my LAN
My ISA server to internet is 192.168.0.9
Public DNS : (My ISP) 200.0.1.1
In your ISA server you can set a policy from your PC to External for all user with all traffic permit.
You try set in your PC the following:
Default gateway: 192.168.0.9
DNS: 200.0.1.1

I have external proxy that is used to get intranet access . i just want to filter some sites from this proxy , the best solution to get this approach is installing ISA server.
according to my communications with Microsoft people here in Egypt , there is no support for ISA server from MS any more and MS do not sell ISA server.
my question , what is the best solution for my issue to prevent some sites from access on some clients?
is ISA server no more supported from MS?
