Corporate Sync on Droid 3 will not connect to my exchange server

My previous phone (droid x with 2.3.3) connected to exchange.  new droid 3 (with version 2.3.4) will not connect to exchange. anyone know if a fix is in the works?

Hello!
Your problem is perhaps is being caused by your Exchanges SSL certificate being "self-signed".  Droid version 2.3.4 does not play nice with email servers that do not have third party certificates installed and if your Excvhange server is Exchange 2010 then this will be especially true. I had this problem with my phone and if spilled over into issues connecting not just with ActiveSync but with IMAP and POP regarding the Exchange server in question. I run my own Exchange so I went ahead and purchased a third party cert, installed it and all was well.  I wrote a shor blog about it here: http://sharkpc.blogspot.com/2011/08/fyi-microsoft-exchange-activesync-imap.html
If you are not in control administrativly of your messaging environment then I would say that your only current work around would be to use an app like "Touchdown". You can get it free in the Android market for a 30 day trial and then you would have to pay after that. It has a pretty decent feel to it. However If in a corporate environment, the 3rd party SSL is the way to go!  Hope this helps and enjoy your Droid 3!

  • 10.3 will not connect to 10.4 Server

    Hi all,
We have installed a Mac Pro running 10.4.7 Server in our Art Studio for use as a small file server.
The machine has a static IP address and is running as a standalone server.
We want to connect to the server using samba on our mac desktops. The problem I am having is that the machines running Panther will not connect to the server. The Tiger machines connect no problem.
Has anyone had this problem before?

  • Droid will not connect with USB to Windows 7?

    Hello Everyone,
I recently upgraded to a RAZR M and can not connect to my PC with the USB cable. I have tried cable that came with phone and others and get the same message that USB driver did not install correctly. The phone did an update of the operating system less than a week after getting it so I am not sure what is up.
Also tried the MTP and PTP settings to see if that made any difference without help. I know my last phone had a setting for mass storage USB and I do not see that on the Droid.
Anyone else have this problem and been able to fix it?

Not an answer for you, yet I had this issue on my new Razr HD. The SD card was sort of accessible, I could transfer one file and then the directory info and transfer would get all goofy... However, on the HD there is an option for mass storage. It just needs to be set. Refer to the manual. Out of the box mine was set for MTP. Once it is set to mass storage it is not accessible by the phone (to find the stuff you transferred as mass storage) until you go back to the same menu and set it back to MTP.

  • Iphone 4S with iOS5 not connecting to our Exchange server.

Help!! i have upgraded to the new iphone with the ios5 and it will not sync with my exchange server! All other iphones in the office are iphone 4 and on the older os and they work fine.  is there some magic settings that our IT guys need to change?  the iphone 4s on AT&T works just fine!

I've found a fairly straight forward fix if you're having this problem, I'm sure it won't work for all but it will work for some.  This is easier to try than restting your network settings and deleting your iCloud account, so try it first.
If you've already got an Exchange account set up but not working - you get the "Password Incorrect" message then;  1) delete the Exchange account. 2) set up a new Exchange account. 3) enter your Domain name. 4) continue set up as usual.  My iPad 2 wifi/3G is connected to iCloud and my company Exchange server, I get the full Outlook suite email/contacts/calendar/etc.
I found that for some reason omitting the domain name during set up, even though Apple says it's optional, really isn't so that your device recognizes your Exchange server.  Here's a quick tutorial I slapped up on You Tube.  If this doesn't work then try the other methods.
    Good luck.

  • Will not connect to software update server

I am trying to update 3 iPhones and an iPad 2 to IOS 5.1. Each time that I open iTunes and select upgrade, I get a message that says Contacting the iPhone (or iPad) software update server. It never goes any farther.
I did try to update each device using WiFi by going to Settings>General>Software Update, but that did not work either.
I was able to update my iPad 2 using the WiFi network at my work.
So something on my home network, iTunes and/or WiFi is not working. I turned off the firewall.
What do I need to do to get this to work correctly?
    Thank you.

Try going to recovery mode as described here.  You may have to try this more than once to succeed.
Use the original iTunes that the iPhone synced with.

  • RSS sync on iPad 3 not working with my exchange server.

I have had two successful syncs with my RSS feeds. most of the time I get nothing. I have the folders checked to push the contents to me. Mail works fine.

    1. close iBooks on iPad (also close the file you were working on on iBooks Author)
    2. double click on the home button (or user four finger swipe up) to bring out the multitasking menu
    3. press iBooks icon and don't let go until the icons in the multitasking bar jiggles
    4. delete iBooks icon from multitasking bar (this gets rid of the memory).
Now, restart ibooks on iPad, and reopen the file on iBooks Author.  Try the Preview function again.
This worked for me.  I hope it will work on you as well.

  • HT1386 For some reason my iTunes will not connect to the internet even though the computer is connected. Any ideas?

Unable to start sync because iTunes will not connect to internet.  Computer is connected but iTunes will not connect.  I even deleted iTunes and downloaded again.  Will not connect still.

I am experiencing this problem as well.
I have access to the internet and can download songs from the music store but iTunes is being its usual pain in the rear and says I do not have an internet connection when I try to download any updates.
This does not seem to be a firewall issue, at least as far as I can tell, as I have McAfee and both iTunes and iTunes Helper have Full Access in my firewall settings.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • OSX Mail will not connect to iCloud server?

    Hi all,
I realise that this has been asked before but nothing suggested seems to work for me? Basically the Mail app will not connect to the icloud server? I use a @me.com email address. The error I get is:
The server returned the error: The connection to the server “p01-imap.mail.me.com” on port 993 timed out.
I cannot for the life of me change this server address. I think I need to lose the p01 part? I have tried deleting account and adding it back but still the same. The strange thing is that the settings on my home iMac seem to be the same but it is my Macbook pro with retina that will not connect. I am completely up to date with latest software on Mavericks. Mail is working for my work email on an exchange server so I know that app iteslef is working. Its been like this for a few weeks now but I thought it was just my work network blocking it but only just realised it is happening at home as well where it used to work.
    Any advice gratfully received.
    Thanks
    Chris

the 'p01......' is correct, so is the port 993. I would recomend opening mail and selecting Mail>Preferences>Accounts and then highlighting your icloud account and delete it by clicking the "minus" button, then add it back again.

  • Mac computers in the office are not able to connect to our exchange server.

We started facing this problem about a month ago in our office where the apple computers can not connect to the exchange server via outlook or applemail or anything for that matter. All the other computers can connect to the exchange server with no problems
and the apple computers can even access the exchange server via OWA but the outlook and applemail apps would not connect to exchange. We have tried even deleting and re-creating some accounts on the apps but they still would not connect. At this point I am
at a complete loss and I looked everywhere through google to find out if anyone else has faced this problem but to no avail.
A little background information. This specific problem started happening after there was an un-expected series of power outages to the servers and they were shut down un-expectedly. I personally restored the servers and turned on all the services and made
sure everything was up and running after the power outages and everything was working fine. Also the first instance of the problem with the mac computers only happened two days after the servers were back up and running again and they had no issues in those
    two days.
Right now we do not have that many mac users in our offices (only 3-4 users) and I have instructed them to use the OWA in the meanwhile but it is however an inconvenience to them. By now you may have realized that I am not a very experienced server admin
and I would really really appreciate any help. I extend my thanks in advance for any insight.

    Hi Martin,
    Thanks for the reply.
Right now I have Apple mail and Outlook installed on my mac laptop and both the applications do not connect to the exchange server. Apple Mail simply does a long process when I give my credentials to create my account and then it gives an error saying it
could not find the server while outlook quickly tells me that either the username or password is incorrect. At the same time I can connect to the server through outlook on my windows computer without any problems whatsoever.
From your reply, I gather that the VIA headers only affect Apple mail and should not affect Outlook app on the mac but right now, neither apps are connecting to the exchange server.
Either way I am trying to find out how to remove the VIA headers because it does not seem that we are using Kemp on the exchange server. Right now I do not have the in depth knowledge that I need because I was not involved in the implementation of our server
system, that was taken care of by a service provider and I was put in charge of mostly simple admin work. Now we are out of contract with the service provider so  pretty much everything has fallen onto my shoulders.
If possible, would you mind pointing me in the right direction to finding out if I am using a L7 load balancer and how I would go about removing the VIA headers?

  • Can't connect to the exchange server

I'm having trouble geting Mail to work with the exchange server here at work. any ideas?

I tried Mick's suggestions but they don't help. One problem seems to be that my boxname on the exchange server unfortunately has a space in it ("firstname lastname", windows style). Upon initial setup the configurator won't allow this, but even if I set up a dummy username (without spaces) and then add the space into the account information afterward, I still see "could not connect to this exchange server" when I click on "Check Again" in the Mail Connection Doctor.
The outgoing SMTP server is configured as servername.companyname.local, port 25, no SSL, and no authentication, and outgoing mail works fine... so it's not a routing or DNS lookup issue on the local side.
The other annoying thing is that the instructions at
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mail/2.0/en/ml1098.html
say that the "Assist me..." button should bring up something called Network Diagnostics. But that button is always greyed out, and spotlight doesn't turn up any apps by that name anywhere on the system.
Can anyone suggest a way of troubleshooting just where things are breaking down? I looked at the most obvious console logs and didn't see anything.
    Thanks in advance!
    /H

  • New iPhone 5 will not connect to sync

I have a new iPhone 5 I got a couple days ago and it will not connect to sync in my car. I have a Ford Fusion 2012, and I had a 3GS that I used with it, and it worked perfectly for the few months I've had the car. I've tried everything with my iPhone 5 but it will not connect. It doesn't even ask me to put in the PIN. Sync shows the PIN and then I click on sync on my phone and it just sits there for a minute until eventually it says to make sure sync is on, in range and ready to pair. Any suggestions?
