Correct installation of Audigy 2 ZS- beta dri

Hi, everyone,
I noticed that a lot of people complain about beta drivers disfunctioning with the applications, deli'vered with the CREATIVE- CD. First I installed the Audigy 2 ZS- beta driver (02.08.0002) and then everything, except the old driver from the CREATIVE- CD.
Audigy 2 ZS works now fine in games (OpenAI- support, baby!), the driver is WHQL- certified, but the speaker calibration crashes. What am I doing wrong ? Is there a way to resolve my problem, WITHOUT LOOONG auto updates (I only have a lousy 56k- modem) ?
I'd be nice, if you drop me a line !
Thanks in advance !

I also have bad audio when playing music through WINAMP and surfing the internet. I have no IRQ conflicts and have the beta drivers for the Audigy installed. No it does not, as long as you do as follows: (Instructions are copied over from my previous posts on the subject)
How to manually change the Windows HAL:
Use the following command: "expand d:\i386\halacpi.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll"
Whereas: <EM>d:</EM> is your CD-ROM letter, or where you Windows XP Installation resides.
halacpi.dl_ can be any of the following depending on what you want to install:
"Standard PC", Non-ACPI PIC HAL (<EM>Hal.dll</EM>)</LI>
"MPS Uniprocessor PC", Non-ACPI APIC UP HAL (<EM>Halapic.dl_</EM>)</LI>
"MPS Multiprocessor PC", Non-ACPI APIC MP HAL (<EM>Halm
    ps.
    dl_</EM>)</LI>
"Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC", ACPI PIC HAL (<EM>Halacpi.dl_</EM>)</LI>
"ACPI Uniprocessor PC", ACPI APIC UP HAL (<EM>Halaacpi.dl_</EM>)</LI>
"ACPI Multiprocessor PC", ACPI APIC MP HAL (<EM>Halmacpi.dl_</EM>)
    </LI>
Offcourse, the HAL you should change to is Standard PC. You will lose Dual Core or HT support in the process, but I strongly believe it can help. As per above, you can switch back to your previous HAL without reinstalling. You will be most prolably asked for the drivers of your devices, but on my setup, it didn't, as they were already stored in Windows' System Folders.

  • What is the correct installation sequence for my ATI Radeon 9800 PRO MAC AGP 128MB into my Quicksilver 867 G4?

    Hi.
I just got my used ATI Radeon 9800 PRO MAC AGP 128MB card.
What is the correct installation sequence into my Quicksilver 867 G4 running 10.4.11 on one drive 10.5 on another?
The original NVIDIA GeForce2 MX - 32MB SDRAM went bust.
Is the driver build in 10.4?
Do I remove the old driver?
If I need to install the driver that came with it, (10.3.6) should the card be installed first?
    What about firmware updates?
Thank you for all your time and patience.

  • Audigy 2 ZS beta drivers a step backwar

OK. My Audigy 2 ZS was working fine with the previous Beta drivers.
I was then forced to upgrade to the latest ones, and now Vista won't start up. It goes through the bootup process but instead of displaying the round Vista logo, it resets and goes back to the checking memory bit.
I have had to uninstall them via Safe-mode to get my OS to work.
While I'm not against upgrading to the latest drivers, Creative should at least allow the previous ones to work until rather than completely disabling them after a certain date.
I have logged the issue with Creative but just received the standard "we are too busy to respond individually" reply.
Has anyone else experienced this Vista problem or know of any workarounds?

  • Audigy platinum pinouts for dri

I have an original Audigy platinum with the connections for a dri've bay - which I did not purchase. My new case allows for a front panel microphone and headphone (as well as other connections) in addition to the back panel ones. After installing the audigy card in it - these connections no longer work =(
Since the dri've bay comes with mircorphoone and headphone outputs - I assume there are appropriate pins on the dri've bay connection that (if identified) - could be connected to my computers froont panel enabeling the use of these with the audigy card and not just the sound system proved with the mobo. Does someone have accurate information about the pinouts for the dri'vebay that are on the Audigy card? And, would you be gracious enough to supply me with this information.
    Thanks,
    Jim

Greetings again and thank you Jeremy for the fast response - FYI I did look for this information on the web before coming here to post. Based on what I gathered from the article you attached was that: . I could connect my front panel headset connections to pins 0, and 2 ( General purpose output , general purpose output 2 and ground) (or should they go to the ones labeled spdif?) 2. I could connect the microphone connections to pins 5 and 6 (spdif input signal and ground) I hate to be a pain but I really don't feel like messing up anything either and maybe a moment of your time can save me a lot of issues later. • How I got sound out of my Audigy 2 in Bet

We all know how there's no drivers out yet for Vista Beta 2...so people are suggesting all kinds of things to try to get our SB cards to work... I have Vista Beta 2 Build 5384 installed and I have an Audigy 2 ZS card...and no matter what Audigy drivers I tried...no love. I decided to do a clean install of Vista this time and try something out...AND IT WORKS! Maybe you guys can try this out too and see if it works for you.
    Here's the steps I took:
. I downloaded the latest Vista 32-bit drivers for my Audigy 2 ZS from Creative's site...the one that's November '05 and named SBAX_PCDVTBETA_US_2_08_0002.exe
    2. I downloaded the latest Realtek AC'97 Vista Beta drivers from http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/dlac97-2.aspx?series=8&Software=True
    3. Install the Sound Blaster driver, you'll have to reboot...once you reboot it should try to install the drivers but will fail...atleast with me, I kept getting a time out error saying its failed.
    4. Now I don't have onboard soundon my Dell..just the SB card so I figured let me try Realtek drivers anyway... Install the Realtek driver, reboot, you should be prompted to install your soundcard driver.. I selected to let it show me the available drivers list and my Audigy was in the list...hit install and it installed the Audigy drivers for me! What the Realtek drivers have to do with anything, I don't know...but it worked for me so I'm happy
The only thing is that after testing all the speaker set ups up to 5.....5. didn't 00&#37; work...my rear speakers and sub wouldn't produce a sound while testing while the rest of the speakers did...and then they would get distored...so I have to keep it in STEREO mode int he configuration. Doesn't matter to me since I just put my Logitech Z5500 speakers in "stereo X2" mode so sound comes out all the speakers...and the sub still will pound.
Hopefully this works for you guys who are having problems getting sound out in Beta 2...lemme know how it works!Message Edited by vice86 on 06-30-2006 07:53 PM

. The beta driver is flakey, use the XP driver
    2. there is no consistant way to install the driver, upon various OS reinstalls (I have installed at least a dozen times at this point, I am testing a variety of stuff under the covers) I have gotten things to work as easy as slick install upon OS install completion... to haveing to fight tooth and nail in safe mode (on the same machine)
    3. The Vista release was not a surprise, the number of major hardware vendors that have their ducks in a row with drivers is greater then those that do not. However, this is beta people, if you expect a finished product use XP... wait XP is a mismash of patchs and updates just like every other MS OS.
    4. if you want perfection and things to work right out of the box, get a MAC

  • Error message when trying to installl an Audigy

I have a problem when trying to install Audigy SE,Error message saying "can't detect a supported product" , my motherboard ASUS P4P800 deluxe has an integrated soundcard /realtek AC97/ and the sound doesn?t work. Waht shall I do, it is umpossible to physicalt remove the soundcard, can I just remove the software or do I have to do something in the BIOS?
I hope someone has a solution for me.

Can you post up some details of which card you have? The model number for instance and perhaps the first few digits of the serial number. That'll give a full picture of which card/model you should have.
Also, are you installing a driver update or an installation CD? Did you use a CD you got with the card? It could be you're using an install that isn't meant for that card.

  • Solaris installation of 10.1.2 beta 3

I want to install 10.1.2 beta 3 on solaris but am having issues with the install and inadequate documentation.
The oracle universal installer complains that you can't be root to run the the installer yet it asked about installing patches to the OS. When not run as root we can't write to the oracle database directory (/opt/oracle/oraInventory on our system). Ultimately we want to install in a location only root can write to.
We've got the database ready and that is pretty much all that the README_FIRST.txt file identifies as pre-reqs.
What do we have to do to get the installation to run through to completion?

Make sure you(as non-root user) have permission to write into required oraInventory directory. You may do this by temporarily login as root and run:
    e.g.
    #chmod -R 777 /opt/oracle/oraInventory
    #exit

I've used Beta 3 & 4 of Lightroom for several months and d/l the Version 1.0 today. Although I uninstalled the Beta (from Add/Remove in Windows Control Panel), I continue to get an error message "Another version of this product is already installed. Installation of this version cannot continue." I've gone through the registry removing any residual lightroom references.
Obviously the installer is seeing something it doesn't like but there is no more uninstalling I can think of. Anyone else have this problem, and could you fix it?
    D. C. Elliott

    Hello Cool Guy,
In order to resolve the issue, please remove the corrupted client installation in the workstation by using the following steps:
                                                                                    1. Try to uninstall SAP Business One Client from Add and Remove Program
If you are unable uninstall SAP Business Client then, perform the below steps:
    A.  Go to Start --> Run --> %temp% and delete all the files present in the temporary folder.
                                                                                    B. Go to [http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q290301|http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q290301]/.
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility and install it. Ensure on the same page that you understand how it works. Finally delete the SAP Business One Client entry with that tool.
    C. Install the new SAP Business One client as you would do on a brand-new PC.
    hope it helps,

  • Correct installation of BDB XML on Mac OS X, and use with XCode

I downloaded the tarball, compiled the whole thing without a problem, and then copied the contents of the install directory to /usr/ (trying to change the prefix on the configure script stopped it from compiling, for some reason) because I didn't want to add stuff to my path (and the contents looked like they belonged in /usr anyway)
But now I'm not sure how to get XCode to find the search paths and libraries. Does anyone who has a working installation of BDB XML on mac os feel like giving me some pointers as to how they did it?
    Thanks,
    Daniel Peebles

I don't know the exact answer to your question, but you can probably figure it out on your own like:
    1) Create a File object that represents an existing file. Play around with the path until the file can be found.
    2) Now that you have a File object representing a valid, existing path, use MyFile.getAbsolutePath() to see what the full path string is. MyFile.getCanonicalPath() might provide some answers as well.
Whatever getAbsolutePath() returns is the correct format for the file path string.

I tried to install the windows version of Photoshop CS6 Public Beta, the 64bit version failed to install said that it failed to locate folder tokens. I uninstalled it and restart my computer. I tried to reinstall but I still get the same error.
What I have tried, was turn off all none windows services incase there were conflicts, and truned of my virus checker(norton contant guard). I've also tried to created another admin account incase there were some corrupt certificates or permissions. Nothing has worked for me.
I'm running on a upgrade version of Windows 7 Ultimate (originally on home premium) on a HP Pavilion Elite e9180f.

Thanks for your response.  I only find one folder in the Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Installers folder. It is AdobeInDesign7xIconHandler64 and the file is mod-mul.key so probably doesn't apply.

  • Installation Help  - From 1.3 Beta to 2.0 to 2.1

    MacBook Pro under Leopard (10.5.2)
I had installed BootCamp beta while running Leopard and am currently at 1.3 Beta.
I am unable to install the 2.1 update (and have read the long thread also on this board).
I have been running Parallels as well which I installed after I had installed Bootcamp allowing me either to boot into Boot Camp or run Parallels.
Documentation indicates that I could insert my Leopard disk to update to Boot Camp 2.0 but after booting in XP SP2, the Boot Camp driver installation does not start automatically nor can Windows find the setup.exe file on the Leopard disk.
I obviously cannot update to Boot Camp 2.1 without 2.0 and just am stymied at this point. Would rather not have to delete the partition and start all over again with the installation of my Windows apps and data.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. MacDrive was the issue. All updated first to 2.0 and then to 2.1
I'm embarrassed because as a columnist I don't usually miss these things. That one went totally by me.

  • Question about the new beta dri

Yesterday I installed the new beta driver from the download page for my Audigy. When installing it I got an error message telling me to insert my XP CD to restore a file called wdmaud.drv (windows fileprotection in the works). This happened in the end of the driver install and it then rebooted. Is this because I haven't got SP2 installed or something else? Why does it need SP2?
I can't really tell if the sound has improved, stayed the same or gotten worse. Also, what CMSS mode should I run to get the best quality with my 4. speakers when the sound isn't in that format? Before I could only select CMSS I think (never saw the setting) and now I can select CMSS, CMSS2 and Stereo Surround.

Noone? Is it needed to reinstall the drivers after installing SP2 (installed them first without it)?
