Correct permanent location for java library folders currently on desktop?

I've got two "Library" folders which contain Java Apps which include: wotaskd.woa and JavaMonitor.woa. When I attempt to launch either, the "A" icon flashes briefly in the dock, then dissapears.
I don't know if the current desktop location of these folders has anything to do with the problem or not. I know that there is a more proper permanent location for these library folders but I don't know where to put them.
Advice?

Place those items in the folder /System/Library/WebObjects/JavaApplications/ if it exists on your hard disk.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
    Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps youshouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
    See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
    When you get it all working make a backup!

  • Best Location for iTunes Library Files

    Greetings:
    Ive moved all of my iTunes media to NAS.  Is it best to have the iTunes library files on the NAS or should I leave on PC.  What are the considerations?   thanks in advance.  John

    It depends a bit on the size of the library. Each action with iTunes causes the database to be updated and there can be some detectable overhead if the library files are stored remotely. On the other hand it is then much easier to backup and restore or migrate the library to a new system if everything is located in a portable layout on that NAS. See Make a split library portable for some background. In practice it may be best to move the library files to local storage for performance but be prepared to move them to the correct path to make the library portable when the need arises.

  • Best location for iTunes Library

    Just trying to figure out where the best location is to put the iTunes Library to improve streaming to the AppleTV.
    I have an AirPort-n that acts as a remote hub for my Tivo, PS3, and now AppleTV (all three are hard-wired to the AirPort-n). Since there’s the ability to connect a USB drive to the AirPort-n, would it make sense to co-locate the iTunes library on a drive connected to the AirPort-n with the wired AppleTV (that is, if it gets the data directly from the Library), or, does the streaming video actually have to flow through (processed by) the host computer (Mac) that ‘owns’ the iTunes Library?
    Making sense???
    THX!

    does the streaming video actually have to flow through (processed by) the host computer (Mac) that ‘owns’ the iTunes Library?
    Correct. There must be a copy of iTunes with the library you wish to sync/stream on the host computer, and iTunes must be running for the Apple TV to connect to it (the Apple TV does not pull directly from the library). So from that standpoint, it really doesn't matter where you keep the library, as long as iTunes on the host computer can find it.
    I'm sure others will express opinions, but I'm uncomfortable with the reliablity and performance of drives connected to a wireless base station (remember that if your Apple TV is connecting wirelessly, you'd essentially be doubling the wireless bandwidth you use any time the Apple TV syncs or streams), so unless you have a good reason (use with other computers, for instance) to have the drive connected to the Airport base station, you might just want to connect it to your host computer.
    Hope this helps.

  • Weblogic9: Location for application library jars

    Hi,
    The installation of weblogic 9 creates two lib directories:
    1. user_projects/domains/base_domain/config/lib
    2. user_projects/domains/base_domain/lib
    Both are for application libraries. What are the differences
    between the two?
    Any information would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    1)user_projects/domains/base_domain/config/lib
    This directory holds jar files that are added to the system classpath of the server, when the server’s Java virtual machine starts.
    2)user_projects/domains/base_domain/lib
    This is the domain library directory and is usually located at $DOMAIN_DIR/lib.
    The jars located in this directory will be picked up and added dynamically to the end of the server classpath at server startup. The jars will be ordered lexically in the classpath. The domain library directory is one mechanism that can be used for adding application libraries to the server classpath.
    It is possible to override the $DOMAIN_DIR/lib directory using the -Dweblogic.ext.dirs system property during startup. This property specifies a list of directories to pick up jars from and dynamically append to the end of the server classpath using java.io.File.pathSeparator as the delimiter between path entries

  • Correct Download Location for WL Server 9.2 MP3 for windows 64-bit

    Can someone provide the correct location to get the installation media for 9.2.3?
    When I look at edelivery all I see are jar files, and I'm looking for an exe (for example server923_winX64.exe.zip)
    When I use KB 763603.1 BEA Release Archive to navigate to the patch p8211264_923_MSWIN-x86-64 indicates what I'm looking for, but the file in the zip file is server923_winia64.exe.
    thanks

    I know, what can try to do is contact Oracle support to see if there is a generic version available.
    What you also can try is download 64bit JDK (for example JRockit: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/jrockit/downloads/index.html)
    Install the JDK and then install weblogic, choose custom install type and after a couple of nexts you get the JDK selection screen in which
    you can add a local JDK. When you configure your domain you can select the 64bit JDK. Not sure if this is going to work!

    thanks in advance

    Hi Maya,
    BEx Web Analyzer requires Portal and is basically a Web template called 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN.
    Is Portal configured in your system landscape? If yes try to see if its configured probably using transaction RSPOR_CUST01.
    If you have access to SM59, you can test the RFC connection to the portal by running the Test Connection for the corresponding RFC destination ID that you see in RSPOR_CUST01 transaction.

    If you have no tool, you can write your own tool:
    import java.util.zip.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class ZipTest {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              if(args.length != 2) {

              new ZipTest().unzip(sourceFilename, targetDirectory);
         public void unzip(String sourceFilename, String targetDirectory) {
              String fileSeparator = System.getProperty("file.separator");
              if(! targetDirectory.endsWith(fileSeparator)) {
                   targetDirectory += fileSeparator;

                        System.out.println(name);

  • Error "no ocijdbc11 in java.library.path" in SQL Developer 4

    Hi!
    I have just installed the latest version of Oracle 12c and the latest SQL Developer (4.0.0.12). I have also JDK 7u25 installed. I run everything on Windows 7 64bit. When I create a local connection in SQL Developer and test or try to connect I get the error: no ocijdbc11 in java.library.path
    If I try the exact same thing in SQL Developer 3.2.2 (the one bundled with the latest Oracle 12c) it works fine. In both versions of SQL Developer I have done no configuration and all the settings are the defaults.
    I have read all the posts that relate to this error message, but they are all based on older versions or other platforms.
    Is there a problem in the default configuration of SQL Developer 4 or a compatibility problem with Oracle 12c? Any ideas of how to fix this?
    When I compare the properties of the two versions of SQL Developer I see that most of them are identical, but the java.library.path points to the sqldeveloper/bin directory in v4 and to the sqldeveloper root folder in v3. I don't know if that is significant.
    Also the setting "Use OCI/Thick Driver"  under "Database: Advanced" is unchecked, so it seems strange that it tries to use it anyway.
    /nikos

    Nikos:
    You should search that ocijdbc11 is installed in a path similar to C:\Oracle32bit\product\11.2.0\client32bit\bin and that this path (or C:\Oracle32bit\product\11.2.0\client32bit) is in your java.library.path.
    If you click on Help|About and the Extensions tab you will see a list of some of these.
    Click on the Export button and copy the contents to a file or clipboard.  Open the file (or Ctrl/V) in an editor and search for java.library.path.  This is the list of ;-separated folders that SQL looks in. Ensure that this list includes the one where your ocijdbc11 was found.

    Hi,
    I'm searching for a guide to set up EWAs for Java only instances. Currently I have my Java instances in SMSY as system components, but how do I set up the EWAs as only ABAP instances are selectable. I'm using the latest SP, so this functionality should be available finally. I can't find a document about that anywhere, just some very bad documented snippets in SPRO...
    Regards,
    Pascal

    Hi Pascal,
    EWA for Java systems is currently in a pilot phase. It will be released with the note 976054, which is currently still being processed internally.
    Note 976054 contains a setup instruction for EWA for non-ABAP-components.
    Technically, for pure Java systems the "Central SDCCN" of the Solution Manager is used as indeed pure Java systems do not have a SDCCN.
    Double stack installations do not make use of the Central SDCCN, using their local SDCCN to obtain the non-ABAP data that is collected by the Diagnostics part of the Solution Manager.
    The note will be released in the very near future.

  • J2EE BluePrints: correct location for common Java source files

    I have a set of Java source files that are common between multiple J2EE applications.
    Within the J2EE package hierarchy, what is the correct location for these files?
    Also, is there a typical package name that common Java source files are grouped under?

    HI,
    There is no standard place. In the blueprints project conventons
    http://java.sun.com/blueprints/code/projectconventions.html it has a place called components/ which would contain shared components like EJBs and other components that could be shared across applications. the package naming would be reflected in that, like com.sun.blueprints.application1. and com.sun.blueprints.application2. and com.sun.blueprints.common.*
    Generally you could put a directory at the same level as the apps (not inside an app's directory structure) and maybe called common/ or shared/ . This common code could be built separtely and into a binary library or jar that you just include in the other applicatons, in the same way you would include some external library jar that you got somewhere and keep in your workspace and your apps use. The packaging of common code is similiar to the packaging of different applications and shared components.
