Corrected amd web site on new heat sink with pipes

http://forums.amd.com/index.php?showtopic=30520 foudn by doing yahoo search. amd + heat pipes.
and cant get the following to work, yet that was up for a while.
could be because it is a protected website. no idea what that means.
http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ComputingSolutions/0,,30_288_13265_13295^13332,00.html
i found this and am curious it this will be available for amd processors that we have already purchased? Would be worth while if using amd parts would not void warrenty.

It isn't gone, the link was just wrong.  It ships with FX processors only if you read further down.  Probably with the newer ones that are running warmer.
As for warranty, you do not have to remain with the Stock Heat Sink to retain warranty, although if the heatsink goes bad and causes a CPU failure using a non-stock heatsink that will void warranty. :-/

Look in settings, safari.  There are two setting that might help, depending on how the website wants to see you.  If they are using cookies, make sure your accept cookies switch is on.
Then look at the autofill setting.  You can turn names and passwords on or off.

  • Retrieving uploaded web site to new iWeb 08

I recently did a clean install of my iBook G4 (for various reasons). I now have Leopard on both eMac and iBook. Before I did this I backed (using Backup) up my iLife 06 folder to .Mac. I have reinstalled iLife 06 and on my iBook and recently purchased iLife 08 for my eMac.
But, how do I get my web site back for editing? I've tried several ways on both computers with no luck. I want to redo the site anyway but would like to be able to use parts of the old site in the new site. The old site is still posted and working fine at .Mac.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The file you needed to backup was the domain.sites2 file that resides in your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. If you don't have a copy of that file you'll need to reconstruct your site from scratch. iWeb cannot read or import html files, only create them.
This site has some tips in 2.3 on how you can use some of the file in the published site to rebuild the site: http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWebBackupretrieve.html

  • Can I still get Firefox 2.0 so I can access my savings plan web site? (newer versions are not supported)

I have only Apple computers. My corporation's savings plan web site primarily supports Windows and just barely supports Macs with Firefox 2.0 and Mac OSX 9 or 10. I currently have OSX 10.5.8 and Firefox 5.0. Is there a place to download this older version of Firefox (or am I limited forever to only doing my money management by phone during regular business hours?). It is not likely that ING Corp. is going to upgrade their support for Macs.

Your Mac is a PPC Mac, correct? If so, there is no way you can use Firefox 5 on it. You could try TenFourFox.

  • Dancing pixels, new heat sink, then no video at all

I have an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro video card with a 23" Cinema Display and a 15" Cinema display running from a Geffen ADC/VGA adapter. I'm have a dual 500MGHz G4 running OS 10.4. It started off as the dancing pixels on the screen. A few green spots here and there, then it got worse. Then there were green and red bands up and down my monitors. I opened up the case and saw that the fan on the heat sink had broken off. I bought an aftermarket fan and heat sink and installed it with no problems. When I booted up the computer there was an ATI icon on the main display where the apple logo usually is. There was also a part of the logo that was blinking red. Maybe it meant that the power supply was inadequate but I don't know. Then the computer froze on that logo. I tried to reboot a couple more times but then the computer just wouldn't boot at all. Anyone else have this problem?

It's OK- happens to the best!
Unfortunately, the continuing screen artifacts could be caused by heat damage to the GPU done while the old fan was down. Heat damage to the chip is usually irreversible.
As for the second monitor, it also could be a victim of heat damage to the card. Does the monitor show when you "detect monitors", either in System Preferences/Displays, or the ATI Control panel?
And, you have verified that all your connections are secure?

The red logo means you didn't connect the auxiliary power cable to the graphics board.

I have inserted a java script web wiget on my web site by copy and paste. It works fine in IE (shows, updates data etc). In FFox it does not even show up and no error messages are given. If I look at the code in FFox, it is shown. Is there a problem with my web site or am I short something in FFox?

  • How can I see Web sites using Adobe Flash Player with my IPad?

I've realised that it's not possible to visit web sites using Adobe Flash Player.
Is There a program by which Apple allows you to solve this problem?

Not from Apple, no, and probably never will be. You can try one of the third-party app/service combinations for playing Flash such as Skyfire , Puffin, or iSwifter. One of those might work for you, though they all have limitations and do not work with all Flash-based sites and services. You may find other suggestions for apps in the many other threads on Flash in this forum.

  • Migrating web sites to new server

    Hello all,
just got a new Mac Mini Server edition with the latest Snow Leopard etc. I am migrating all my various sites from the old server which was just running standard Leopard. I am having a hard time finding where everything goes. If anyone can point me to some good tutorials on setting of web hosting using Snow Leopard I'd really appreciate it.
For example, we use the server for local testing only, not public serving so on the old server we'd just go to http://192.168.1.5/sitename and that worked great. So where the heck is htdocs located on Server? Most of are sites are PHP/MySQL stuff like Wordpress and Joomla etc. So I'm guessing I'll need to enabled PHP 5 and MySQL and all that. I've got a few good tutorials bookmarked for that, but if anyone has a great Server specific one, let me know. I'll be porting everything using phpMyAdmin.
Looking at the help info for the Web Server Preferences, it says adding sites is for static HTML sites of which I have basically none.
I'm going through the Server booklet that came with the Mini, but I could really use some tips on where to put things like our shared project folders etc. I'm new to this server configuration stuff. Thanks a ton for any tips!

I am trying to do the same thing. I have an old Leopard server that has some internal websites on it. I am planning to migrate them over to a new Snow Leopard server this summer. I am just now starting to play with it. I wave been able to successfully move over wikis, but am having trouble with the user blogs.
To move the wikis, I found them in /Library/Collaborarion/Groups. Each wiki was listed as a separate directory. I moved the contents of the groups folder over to the new server in the same directory, and changed the permissions to those directories to match what they should be. To do this, I went into Server Admin and file sharing and browsed to the Groups folder (no further in) and propogated the permissions (owner and group names) down to the contents of the Group folder fo that each user and group was _teamserver. Shop and restart web server and the wikis were back.
I tried to do the same for the users, but that does not seem to work. Still trying some things there. I did not do any of the things that power mac suggested with php or mysql.
Hopefully, this works for you. I will try to post if I can figure out the user blogs. I would have thought they would have worked the same way as the wikis, but they were in the users folder instead of the groups folder. They are all listed there in the finder, but they do not show up in the web interface when I list the user websites in snow leopard.

  • Every time I try to go to my home page, any web site, a "new tab" comes up and nothing happens. It's been doing this for about a month now.

I try to go into ANY website and that comes up and it never does anything. I don't know how to fix this. I can't upgrade to 6 because one of my toolbar things won't work with it, besides I just upgraded to 5. I just want to be able to go to my home page or any website without waiting or trying to do it over and over again.

  • Create public facing web site of SharePoint intranet portal with Public IP Address

    Hi,
I did below steps to create public facing URL and to access outside domain network (Internet).
    1. Got a public IP Address.
    2. Created an extending web application to existing Web Application (default zone - intranet) and Zone selected to Internet and host header given test.contoso.com.
    3. Went to IIS and edit binding of Internet site. Provided public IP Address in 'IP Address' textbox and given host name as test.contoso.com.
Above are the 3 steps used to get access http://test.contoso.com in internet. But unable to access it and not seen any relavant message.
Please help me and provide me steps to achieve.

Did you actually register the contoso.com address on the Internet?  And is it associated with the public IP Address?  To access SharePoint from the Internet you are going to use http://test.contoso.com.  The Internet DNS servers need to be
able to resolve that to your Public IP in order to find the SharePoint server.
Second, did you bind your external IP address to one of the network cards on your SharePoint server?  Or is your Firewall or other gateway device forwarding traffic to the SharePoint server at that address?
Another problem you may have is whether that Internet IP address is even reachable on your internal network from the Internet.  Most companies have Firewalls inplace to keep external users from accessing addresses inside your network.
It sounds like you've done all the SharePoint configuration correctly, but you also need to make sure that TCP/IP is correctly configured.

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting here.
    Upgrading Web and Business Databases
Upgrading Web or Business databases to a new service tier/performance level does not take the database offline. The database will continue to work through the upgrade operation. At the time of the actual transition to the new performance level temporary
dropping of the connections to the database can happen for a very small duration (typically measured in seconds). If an application has transient fault handling for connection terminations then it is sufficient to protect against dropped connections at the
    end of the upgrade.
Upgrading a Web or Business database to a new service tier involves the following steps:
Determine service tier based on feature capability
Determine an acceptable performance level based on historical resource usage
Why does existing performance for my Web or Business database map to the higher Premium levels?
Tuning your workload to fit a lower performance level
Upgrade to the new service tier/performance level
Monitor the upgrade to the new service tier/performance level
Monitor the database after the upgrade

  • I am running mac osx 10.5.8, but FireFox is giving me a message that it is not compatible with my version of osx and will not let me install. The web site says it is compatible with osx 10.5. Am I missing something?

I was able to download the current version of FireFox but when I tried to install, I got a message that FireFox is not compatible with my current os. What else should I consider or try doing to get FireFox to work?

Beginning with Firefox 4, Macs must have an Intel x86 processor (which you do NOT have; yours is a PPC Mac) '''''<u>and</u>''''' OSX 10.5 or higher.

'''''The good news''''' is that Firefox 3.6.24 still supports OSX 10.4 and Macs with the PPC Mac architecture. '''''The bad news''''' is that support for the Firefox 3.6.x series is likely to end in the first quarter of 2012.
