Corresponding Logic 16 Midi channels to Korg Triton 16 midi channels

Heyyy---- I use to use protools, but I switched over to Logic. What I do is, I recorded all my beats inside my triton., using all 16 tracks in my triton. When I finish I would then slave my triton to pro tools. Then I would create 16 midi channels in pro tools. I would then arm all 16 channels(Channel 1 in protools reads only what is in track 1 one on the triton, Channel 2 in PT only reads track 2 in the triton and so on till 16). Since my triton is now using protool's midi clock---When I hit record on Pro Tools..it then records midi data from the triton onto the Pro tools midi channels, each unique to the tritons specifications datawise.(1to1,2to2,3to3....). hahaha its a funny way to make beats, but yeah...I still like to make beats inside the keyboard. My question is, In Logic how do you set this up in the environment with one keyboard--- like I previously did in protools! Million Dollar Question. Thank you very much!!!

Okay, thank you very much Bee Jay. my ID seems to have switched on me. Heres the thing...Where do I find the Multiplayer Record mode button. Not only that. By multi instrument.... do you mean mult-timberal external midi????? also...Do I need to change my environment??? Thank you very much, how do I name a whole group to be triton...so when ever i am opening a new session...there is automatically 16 tracks for triton...and 16 for something else...you know..all midi...thank you veryyy much

  • Setting Midi to recognize sustain pedal info, connected to Korg Triton

My Problem.... I am using Korg Triton thru Focusrite Saffire LE and sustain pedal works fine with Pro 53 plug in, but is not recognized with other plug ins such as EXSP 24 ! can anyone help please ? Thanks Jeff

    Hi
MIDI CC 64 is a standard 'sustain' MIDI message which should always be supported within Logic provided that the Instrument plug/patch is programmed to act appropriately.
There is no need to get involved with "Preferences:Control Surfaces" for this function, so you should remove any info that you have entered here (or Trash the .cs preferences).
You should check that the Korg is correctly configured to transmit CC messages: check the Korg manual for more info: (<The type of message and values sent depend on the function you assign to the pedal in GLOBAL Mode, Page 4, Line 3 and/or 4. >)

    MIDI is MIDI.
if the keyboard has MIDI-OUT, and the MIDI interface you buy is Mac compatible, it will work

  • How to record multiple midi channel data to multiple midi tracks in Logic?

    Dear All,
I have an electric organ from Yamaha, and it has 3 keyboards, upper keyboard, lower keyboard, and pedal keyboard. They are all running in different midi channels:
i.e. upper keyboard: midi channel 1
    lower keyboard: midi channel 2
    pedal keyboard: midi channel 3
When I try to create 3 midi tracks in Logic to listen to the 3 keyboards, I found that their midi signal just mixed together. Meaning, all 3 midi tracks can listen to all 3 keyboards...
Please noted that I am using a single USB Midi interface (1-in, 1-out) to connect the electric organ with macbook.
Can someone give me a help here? I suppose I can setup 3 midi tracks in logic to listen to 3 keyboards signal separately.
    Thanks,
    Eric

I had a similar situation when I first got LS and received this useful reply from Apple-
in Settings>Recording, check the box for "Auto demix by channel if multitrack recording".
Be aware that the Settings are song specific, compared to Preferences, which apply
to all songs. Set your controllers to send on specific MIDI channels and set the same channels in the inspector of your tracks.
I have a 2x2 midisport however, so I don't know if you will have an issue because you have only 1 I/O.
If so, you might have to learn about 'Multi instruments", I haven't had the need.
Yes, this is correct. We have two recording stations with ESI M4U 4x4 midi interfaces. We are recording 4 instruments at the same time and they all send their data on a different channel. I created midi instruments for all of them in Environment just to have them more easily available in the Arrange window. Also make sure you have the correct midi channel set per track in Logic.
When the option to "auto demix by channel" is set and you are recording, it may seem that Logic is recording only on one channel (only one region being created). But as soon as you hit stop, it will expand to multiple channels.

  • Korg Triton Rack and Logic

Is it possible to connect my Korg Triton Rack to Logic such that when I select a synth (like ES 24) from the drop menu, I can choose the Triton?
I am a bit of a midi ludite and have my Roland Fantom daisy chained to the Korg via an Edirol UM-2 into my Mac. But I'm not realizing the full potential of my gear.
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance,
    Chris

    ok there is two ways!
    1. on the input slot where you would select a logic instrument, selct the external instrument (then put in the midi port and audio input that corresponds to you setup for the triton)
    2. from the arrange page select the triton on an audio instrument track
    somethings to note:
    a. you need to create a multi-instrument in the environment that corresponds to the triton or neither of the above two methods will work.
    b. there is advantages and drawbacks to both.
    1. if you choose the first method you can use the effects in logic to process the triton(advantage)....drawback you can only use the external instrument 1x per piece of midi hardware.
    2. The second method has the advantage of allowing you to use all 16 midi channels on the triton (so you can have 16 dif. patches playing), but you can't process them with logics plugins
Also, if you want to bounce the midi instruments with your song:
It is very easy with the external instrument, but with the other method you will have to record the midi data on an audio track, by selecting the inout of your Triton in the input window of the track and pressing record.....this will give you an audio track of the midi arrangement!
    Hope That Helps!

  • Logic pro 7 & Korg Triton Pro

    Hi
I have a Korg Triton Pro and I am trying to find out how I can configure Logic to see all the sound banks correctly?
For the older version of Logic, I downloaded an environment from the Korg website but there is nothing there for Logic Pro 7 and the Triton so I imagine Logic has the presets somewhere in the program?
    Any ideas?
    Cheers!

    Hey there,
SoundDiver is an application, after downloading the app,you should be able to run it by clicking on the file you just downloaded.I don't remember if it is as a .dmg file,i have installed this ages ago,if it is you have to open it to find there the app and drug it to your desktop.
If it is a .dmg and your system doesn't recognise the file that's another issue!
''SoundDiver is a universal, MIDI device editor and librarian program. It supports a huge list of devices, has a user-friendly interface, and integration with Logic.
Graphic editors allow you to edit every aspect of your setup with just a few mouse clicks. You can freely organize and catalog your patches in searchable libraries and define shortcut keys to speed up your work. ''
    Try downloading the file again.
When you do and let's say that this time you will be able to see the file,
Open first logic and the the SoundDiver.
Follow the instructions that the startup window will give you, make sure all your midi devices are on and let it scan your system
I think you have to dump data from triton to soundDiver for it to see the banks name list.
Go to install under windows, add device triton pro, then open setup <windows> and under new >build library>select all entries or memory,
you have to do a data dump of everything from triton.
You will see a moving bar saying receiving(data from triton)when you press ok on Triton's screen to send the data to SD.
After doing that you will be able to see the banks and the names.
Let me know if that worked.

  • Filtering Midi from All to one specific channel

    Hi!
I have a midi device that sends midi to all midi channels without any possibility to change this setting on the device, and there is no software or driver to it either. I want to make the midi end up in one specific channel only.
I'm running a system with three different USB-midi devices so a global setting wouldn't work. Logic recognizes all devices separately, so there should be some way to transform all midi-messeges from just this device to one channel, but my question is: how do i do that?
    Logic X (10.0.4)
    Mac OSX 10.8.5
    Thanks!
    /Joel

This is a bit embarrassing, but i just found that my device does not at all send to all midi channels, but just to nr 10. So I guess i don't really have a problem anymore... The questing remains unaswered, how ever.

  • How can I get Logic to remember my settings and midi environmentds.

I am new to logic and my set up assistant doesn't seem to be having any effect.
Each time I open Logic I have to reconfigure me Midi environment, its driving me nuts!

Save your configured environment as a template. If you want it to be the default, save it in your templates folder as your Autoload song.

  • Notes sticking with KORG K61P MIDI Keyboard

    Hey guys and gals:
i finally got my KORG K61P MIDI Keyboard working in Garageband. Only thing is, a lot of times wheni play notes, they stick or hang. Now, i've noticed with some looking on other forums that people are having similar problems, but i haven't really found any solutions, so i thought i'd ask here.
i have the keyboard hooked up straight to the MacBook Pro with a USB cable. Everything seems fine except for this sticking. If you need any other info that i'm missing, please ask. Desperation! LOL

  • Korg Triton versus Logic-Pro 7

Genklag

I can't answer the question, but I will take a stab at the translation. Genklag, mon francais n'est plus parfait, alors, je vous donne mes excuses en avance...
Just bought a G5 dual 2 g proc. with Logic Audio Pro 7 and an RME Fireface 800. My Korg Triton Pro X isn't recognized by Logic (at least it doesn't show up in the logic [startup?] menu). What do I need to do to use the [internal?] sounds in my Korg Tri.Pro X? Do I need to download something or get another driver? I'm inclined to keep both Logic and the Korg, but if they are incompatible (or if one way or another everything will just crash every two seconds) I will need to get rid of one or the other... And apparently the manufacturer of each unit is at odds with the other as usual (now that I have bought everything...! including two 23" mac dislplays etc...) Does someone have and answer or have I just made a big mistake?

  • Logic 9 is not recognizing my midi control surface.

hi, i am currently running logic pro 9 on os 10.6.8 and i have an m audio oxygen 49 controller. i deleted this by mistake in logic. it is seen in my midi/audio setup but i cannot install it in logic again because it is not being recognized. it is usb and tried shutting it off and disconnecting it but still nothing.
can some one please help before i rip all the hair out of my head?

First thing to do is quit Logic and delete the control surfaces preference file, it will be rebuilt next time Logic starts.
In the Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder from the menu.
Type ~/Library/Preferences in the "Go to the folder" field.
    Press the Go button.
If you are having trouble with a control surface in Logic Pro.
then delete the com.apple.logic.pro.cs file from the preferences folder.
    In this order:
    1. Delete the control surface preference file, be sure and include the tilde ~ in the path name just as it's written above.
    2. Unplug the Oxy49
    3. Reboot the computer, let it settle.
    4. Plug in the Oxy49, wait 30 seconds
    5.Start Logic

  • Send midi from software sequencer to midi out

I am quite new to logic and sometimes am confused about the midi routing...
I have a sequencer (Reaktor) in a software instrument track, from wich I want to send midi to my hardware synthesiser. (sometimes maby recording the midi coming out from reaktor to a midi track)
I have the output channel in Reaktor set to the same as the receive channel of my synthesiser. (everything works fine in Reaktor standalone)
But I was not able to do it from logic ...
I tried option-clic on the triangle in the track in the environnement, to draw a beautiful cable to the corresponding midi channel of my instrument track...
    And a few other things...
    My synthesiser still recieve nothing.
If anyone can show me the road, i will be very grateful.
    Thanks

  • Where can I find a SP/DIF cable for my Korg Triton and new iMac?

    Hello,
I have a SP/DIF audio out that is a FIBER OPTICAL connection, and I need to plug it into the back of my iMac in the audio-in connection, however the back of my iMac is a 3.5 mm stereo plug (I think).
I want to use the sounds from my Korg Triton Extreme and record them into Garageband 08.
Can someone provide me a link to buy this cable? (The sales help at Sam Ash Music are worthless)
    Thanks so much!

I bought one for my output a few months ago, they are fairly common. I bought it from Amazon do a search for Toslink mini.

  • How do I configure 128 channels of DIO and 128 channels of Analog output with the availability of 3 pci slots

I have only 3 slots of PCI or 4 slots of ISA bus, I want to configure with the minimum possible modules to attain 128 channels of DIO and 128 channels of analog output. This is inturn fed to the PCM (Pulse code Modulator). The cards will be placed in industrial PC.

    Associate Engineer-Marketing,
Using just those 3 PCI slots you're not going to be able to get the 128 analog output channels. You will probably want to go either the MXI-3 (PCI bus extender) to a PXI chassis or E Series DAQ card to a SCXI chassis for such a high channel count system. Which analog output cards and which digital I/O cards you will want depends on your application. You will have to decide whether you will need static or dynamic analog output as well as whether you need clocked digital I/O or not. I highly recommend contacting our internal sales department at 1-800-433-3488. They are great at helping specify systems.

  • 40SL500U - Tuning one QAM channel jumps to another QAM channel

My cable company is Armstrong Utilities.  I have 3 TVs, none with a set top box.
    I used to get these HDTV 720p channels on all 3 TVs:  128-1, 128-3, 128-5, 128-6
Recently channel 128-5 moved to 68-5.  I can no longer tune any 128 sub channel.  Tuning any 128 channel jumps to 68-5.
When I go into setup and manually tune 128 it shows one channel:  68.5.  68.5 in now ratio 4:3 and 480i resolution.
    On my other two TVs I can tune 128-1, 128-3, 128-6 and they are 720p and 16:9.  68-5 is 4:3 and 480i.
When I display the info on my ViewSonic TV it shows:  "68-5 E1_5 WQ".  The station is WQED and I think that's where the "WQ" comes from.
Attached is a scan done on my PC TV tuner.
So, I can not tune any subchannel on channel 128.

More information in the attached photo of the Manual Tuning screen.  In the upper right corner in the green you can see that I entered channel 128 and then pressed OK to scan.  The only channel found is 68.  My other 2 TV tuners find 4 subchannels on 128.
