Corrpted file, appears I have lost everything

Mac user, have not upgraded yet.
Was using LR no issues, downloaded about 150 pics and had no problem sorting, deleting, developing. Put the computer to sleep, pulled it out a few hours later and opened LR and got a message about the file being corrupted. I can't recall the exact message because I was in panic mode, but when LR opened nothing was there -- no pics, no, folders, no collections, etc.
In my LR folder there are some files "lightroom database.lrdb" inside some folder that have a date. There is also a file called "lightroom database.lrdb" with today's date.
There is also a file inside a folder called "corrupt DBs" with today's date.
My LR has not been backed up for a long time, it was because of a switch from PC to Mac and my normal proceedures broke down.

So, you are using version 1.0?
Most likely the the .lrdb file with recent date was created after the freeze/crash/hiccup, and of course it will be empty. Double click on the other one and you should launch all right, but after checking that there's no file ending in .lock in the folders when LR is quit.
Once you're up and running, download and install 1.4.1 and see if the upgrade will not bring things along once you've restored the old catalog. New ones will end in .lrcat.

From what I understand about your issues is that your iPad will currently not turn on. In attempt to resolve this issue please follow the steps in order below:
Resolution
If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

HT1212 I followed the I have never synced with itunes directions, and I appear to have lost everything that was on my itouch. Now what?

This is the most frustrating site and instructions. I got locked out of my iTouch and had to do a system restore. I followed the directions for having never synced with itunes directions, as I inheireted this itouch from my dad and when I tryed to sync before it looked like I would wipe out everything on it, which I DID NOT want to do. Now, after following the directions, I have wiped out everything that was on it, pictures, songs,...is there anyway to restore what was on the itouch?

Looking at those directions I am not seeing the device in itunes. Here is what I followed from: iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode under if you have never synced your device with itunes.
"Connecting the device may result in this error message: "iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device."

So I followed these directions and in step number 5 it was uploading (I believe) for about 30 minutes. When that was over there was no other directions and the device was still locked. So I repeated the steps. This time it restored the device, but when I get on it, I lost all music and pictures, along with a few apps. The apps are no big deal as they were free downloads, so I can redo those with no problems. Trying to follow your directions above and clicking through the links, my main problem is that I have no devices showing in itunes. I just down loaded it today, so it is the latest version. So what now?

I appear to have lost my ITunes icon and the program is not listed in the Control Panel under Programs. Nobody in the house has uninstalled it but it appears an update may have come through today which was loaded and now we cant find anything.

If it is not listed in programs&features it looks as though it has been uninstalled.
Try looking for the iTunes application in
C:\Program Files\iTunes for 32 bit windows
C:\Program Files (x86) for 64 bit applications.
Is it there?
If it isn't try downloading iTunes and installing iTunes

Unfortunately not. Lion has made many adjustments to the previous system. Try opening your pdfs in keynote.

Until then, you can carry on using iWork '09, or try Microsoft Office 2011 or even LibreOffice, which is free and open-source

How did you get your songs onto your iPod Touch?
If purchase directly from iTunes you can download them again.
If your iPod is synced to iTunes on a Windows PC, then, sync your iPod to that computer.
If this is your first Mac, are you migrating from a Windows PC?
