Corrupt? But I Just Upgraded, you idiotic Windows!
Ok, so I was actually starting to think Windows wasn't all that bad.
But now, it's making me furious!!!
It keeps displaying this stupid error in the taskbar saying Safari is corrupted - every 3 SECONDS!!! - and I JUST upgraded to the latest version!
What the heck is going on here?!
Please tell me this isn't a virus or something...
And yes, I'm not a full time Windows user.
I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit over VMWare fusion, so it's not like it's a real PC or anything...
Is there at LEAST a way to turn that stupid message off?
OH, and it keeps asking me to run the "Chkdsk" application, but every time I do, it pops off the screen!

It's probably a virus. Just do a scan with AVG or McAfee (which is included with VMware) or reformat.

I was just upgraded to a Windows 7 (64 bit) laptop. I am trying to get a web-based application (XMLmind) to open in FireFox and am unable to do so. Is there a specific plug-in that I need to make FF compatible with my 64 bit laptop?
Firefox works, but my application does not.When the videos are in the Movie library, try using the Create IPod and iPhone Version in the Afvanced tab of iTunes.

I just upgraded to Maverick and now I can't download CC apps. Any suggestions?
When I tried to download Lightroom, the Launch Application window came up, and I chose to "CreativeCloud(URIHandler)"....
So then it popped up the Creative Cloud window and has been doing this ever since....
(I tried it with InDesign also with the same result.) I've never had any download issues before, but I just upgraded to Maverick; would that be the cause?if you want to fix your cc app

2. if that fails, open your cc app and log out and then back in
3. if that fails, uninstall your cc app and reinstall

the most common problem is caused by failing to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 (which adds a cookie to your system enabling you to download the correct version from adobe.com).

I just upgraded to a new computer running Windows 7 from an old one running XP. I would like to migrate my old bookmarks to the new computer but I do not know where to find them or where to migrate them to.

I'm installing windows 7 64-bit on my imac which I've done before but I get a message that the partition is GPT even after I format the bootcamp partition. I just upgraded my hard drive to a 3tb and I'm allocating 1tb for windows. How can I fix this?
No easy fix for a few reasons:
1) Bootcamp requires a hybrid MBR for the partition table. That is: both an MBR and a GPT partition table at the same time with the GPT one having all partitions and the MBR one having only the ones that are relevant, but at most 4 of them (including the protective partition and the Macintosh HD one). Which leads us to:
2) The MBR part of the hybrid partition table cannot work with 3TB hard drives. MBR is limited to 2TB.
I am working on a small EFI app that can boot Windows in EFI mode on a Mac and that would mean that you can go GPT only on your system. The progress of the app is slow due to the nature of EFI and for now requires that you do an unattended Windows install with slipstreamed graphics drivers, but we are adding VGA loading on top of EFI quite soon after the rest of the app stabilises. The status of the app is documented at:
Win7 x64 booting natively via EFI (no bios emulation)
Windows does actually successfully boot in EFI mode on most Macs (anything with a 64bit EFI should work), but does not have graphics support even if you load the driver due to the VGA pci registers not being set by the firmware. Furthermore, in Setup and Safe Mode, Windows uses VGA instead of GOP which is a failure by design since VGA is a BIOS standard and not really compatible without hacks with EFI. Other EFI implementations also add VGA compatibility at a high cost to the firmware complexity for the VGA cards available on the market that don't actually contain anything in their ROM except the VGA BIOS.
My recomendations:
1) Install on a second smaller hard-drive; or
2) Wait for the EFI app to come out officially and use that to boot Windows Vista SP1 x64 and Windows 7 x64 (RTM and SP1) in the native EFI mode.
3) Wait for Windows 8 which supports VGA-less booting acording to the AMD presentation at UEFI Plugfest. -
I'm not a "Cloud" member. I just upgraded to Lightroom 6 from Lightroom 5. All was working well yesterday. Today Lightroom will not open (Windows 7). I see the logo photo over my Lightroom platform but nothing loads and I see "Lightroom not responding." I checked the catalogs and see that lrcat-Journal and lrcat-Lock have been created every time I try to open. I have a backup from the first day I upgraded, but Lightroom doesn't want to access it. Should I reinstall?
Well, is the catalogue (and the folder it is in) writable? Have you actually checked the permissions? Lightroom won't be spitting out the error just to tick you off, and - computer wizard or not - this sounds very much like something you'll have to fix at the OS level: it's probably nothing to do with Lightroom or those funny lads at Adobe.

Just upgraded to iTunes 11.1.4.62 now my device (iPhone5) won't sync but shows up under Windows Explorer. When I plug the phone in it asks if I want to trust the computer. I say yes but it hasn't asked me that since the very first time I received the phone.
This resolved my issue.

Reinstalling the usb driver in win7 by going to device mgr/ portable devices and then directing the computer to search the apple folder ...
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers. did the trick. -

I am assuming you updated to version 5.1.1, not 5.0.1 since no legitimate version of 5.0.1 is available.

Thank you for your question. It sounds like you are unable to see either of your devices in the sidebar of iTunes after a recent update. A number of issues could cause this type of behaviour, and would recommend starting with the troubleshooting from the article named:

Not sure why I am getting this message anyway. I wasn't trying to buy anything. I just upgraded and then I tried to access the store. I had two purchases that I had previously made from a different computer. I was going to download them to this computer as my iPod is synced to this computer and you can only sync it to one computer. I was able to view my account information and from there I was able to click on the Purchased link. I saw the two items and downloaded them. But I received an error about the second album. It said that I didn't have sufficient privileges. When I checked all the songs had downloaded. Only the booklet was missing. Maybe this has something to do with the issue, I don't know. As far as I know, I purchased everything from the US store. I don't even know how to switch to a different store.
In any case, I can't access the store because the item I requested is not currently available in the US store. So why don't they just dump me at the home page instead of blocking me completely.It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

I upgraded to OS Yosemite on my MacBook Air...and I cannot upgrade the Adobe Flash download that Adobe keeps asking me to download. I get the screen and when I click on the icon it just creates a new window but not download. Thoughts?
I just tried the link and it is just fine. If the GateKeeper pops up then open Security & Privacy preferences, click on the General tab, set the last radio button to Anywhere.

iTunes Store- Authorize or deauthorize your Mac or PC.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
