Corrupt file and iTunes not recognizing

Okay. This is going to be long. My friend wanted me to put some songs on her iPod Nano (1 GB first generation). I did it once before and everything worked perfectly, but this time, I was uploading songs onto it, and all of a sudden there's this 'Uknown error' message. Then iTunes disconnects it. I reconnected it, and it wouldn't let any songs be put onto it and all the songs were erased. I tried to restore it (And as far as I know I have the latest version of iTunes), and after I did that, iTunes doesn't even recognize it anymore, and in the bottom right corner of my toolbar on my computer it says That my iTunes and Music folder on the ipod is corrupted and that I should use the Chkdsk thing. I used it, and nothing happened. I'm really confused now. Anyone else run into this kind of thing?

I'd try running your Disk Utility over your startup disk. Does it find/repair any damage? If so can you empty your trash and reinstall your iTunes successfully now?

if that dose not work then you can always put it into DFU mode by connecting to your computer and holding down the home button and sleep/wake button for excatly 10 seconds and then relesing the sleep/wake button and keep holding down the homebutton till iTunes tells you it has detected an iPad in recovery mode then just do a restore

Artwork Import Corrupts File and Does Not Show in iTunes

I recently loaded some files into iTunes that I received as MP3s. After importing them, I attempted to add artwork. The artwork showed up originally, but everytime I went back to play the song, the artwork would disappear. And, each time I attempted to add the artwork, it caused the song to loop at the beginning. In other words, a 20 second or so snippet would play multiple times before the song would play. This appeared to corrupt the file in that the same thing would occur no matter what file I used. I thenreimported the raw files again, did not add artwork, and they played fine. As soon as I attempted to add the artwork again, the looping problem occurred again. I have used iTunes for a long time, and have never had a problem adding photos to my iTunes or my iPod.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Windows and itune not recognizing my ipod shuffle

i got ipod shuffle 2 weeks before .it was working for 2 days. after that i got no response frm other day.now my windows and itune is not showing my ipod and when i connect it to my system orange light blink for three times and then stops.
please do help me...

troubleshooting til I'm blue! I plug in the ipod and
the only thing my device manager shows is USB mass
storage device. By the way, my ipod did NOT come with
an installation disc. And yes it's fully charged. The
orange lights up while charging and when I plug in

Windows 7 x64 bit and iTunes not recognizing iPhone 3GS

I'm sorry to bring this up again and I know the community has seen it a million times but I'm definately needing someone to point me in the right direction. I have an Acer 5552 Laptop with Windows 7 x64 bit. It does not have the Intel P55 chipset as what I have read before in these discussions, so updating the BIOS will not work. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes x64 bit, removed and reinstalled the drivers and Apple Mobile Support software (which should do it by removing iTunes as a whole) and whenever I hook my iPhone to my laptop for a second sync it takes a long time to back up and then it gives an error, then when i try to connect it again iTunes says that the iPhone cannot be recognized and needs to be restored. I have done this 3 times in the past 2 months. This is a brand new laptop that I have. There should be no reason for this to happen unless I'm missing something. Is there any workaround to this? for the time being I'm syncing everything on an old, slow desktop that has Windows XP. It's worked with my old laptop which had XP on it great but sadly I gave my old laptop to my dad which he now uses to sync his iPhone with now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated..also if anyone has the same laptop model I have and have Windows 7 x64 on it..please let me know what you did if you got your 3GS to sync all the time with no problems.

Computer and itunes not recognizing!

Okay, I got my Ipod Nano this past christmas, and has worked up until now. Every time i plug it into the port, my ipod goes back and forth from, "Connected" to "Ok to disconnect" all on its own! Every now and then i'll get this message saying "Itunes has detected an Ipod that appears to be corrupted.* You may need to restore your Ipod before it can be used with Itunes."
I cant possibly restore my Ipod because the window that shows my information on this Ipod isnt coming up....I've tried the 5 R's and im still having trouble.
*and it cant be corrupted b/c i just got it 3 months ago!

Ever since I have updated iTunes to Version 8.1 my iPod will not sync. It comes up with an error message and closes down. I have been to the Apple Store who restored my iPod so it was empty and said that would work... it didn't. I went back and they gave me a new iPod and said that would work... I was telling them that it wasn't the iPod it was the new version of iTunes. I now have a new, EMPTY iPod that I can't use and Apple do not seem to be doing anything about this issue. Thanks, but I've checked those articles out already. I drained the battery and finally got the needs charge (battery w/red line + arrow pointing to a charging bolt), I plugged the USB into the laptop and held down the start key +home key until I saw the apple logo. However, it still was not recognized by itunes. It's been plugged in for over an hour now and the screen is cycling apple logo/low battery (battery w/red line)/and black screen.

I am not a computer savy person. I just need to plug in and have the machine do what it should do.
Not a problem, but that indicates you have a lot to learn.
File extensions like mpeg, mp4., avi, wmv, etc. are just wrappers. It is like a box the audio or video content is placed inside. The audio and video content must be encoded with a codec before it is placed in the box. There are thousands of codecs. Not all are installed on your Mac. You must have the same codec installed that encoded the video in order to play it. So, while Quicktime does support mpeg wrapper, it may not have the codecs to decode the internal video.
Some programs have lots of the codecs available to them, like VLC, Niceplayer, MPlayerX, etc.
You can also get "plug-ins" for Quicktime that add codecs to Quicktime, like Perian. Although it is no longer being developed, Perian still works well.
Why is it so difficult? Probably because they are always working on ways to compress the video to get better playback.

It could be a tiny bit of fluff in the dock that's preventing a particular wire from connecting. A magnifying glass and a decent light should let you inspect the port. If there is any rubbish lodged in the dock opening use a can of compressed air or a fine needle to ease it out taking care not to damage the connectors.
