"corrupt file" "downloading"

hi all! i'm very new to mac, and i am having a problem when downloading....until yesterday, everything was great! now i am getting a message that says "corrupt file," and stops the downloading midway. all the help on the net is for pc:( just so you know, i am not a computer lingo person. any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

g c,
I attended two schools that had cougs as mascots.  In fact, I remember when WSU had a live cougar housed on Stadium Way.  Graduated from Pullman High and live in the county.
I went to the website - megavideo - and saw a lot of pop-up messages and talk about downloading to a PC.  If it was working, the next question will be "do you have a backup of your computer or 'Time Machine' to take you back to a prior state on your hard drive?"
I saw one link that wanted to download a download manager, one that was an .exe file that will only run on a PC, one that was removed for copywrite infringement, and another link that was seized by the department of homeland security, etc.

They have a link to contact them.  Have you tried emailing them with your question?  The site left me more confused than convinced to join.

  • Corrupt file downloading latest ios update

I tried downloading the latest ios7 for my ipad and iphone and am getting an error message for a corrupt file.  same when I do the internet download for my iphone.  Any ideas?

No, that is not normal at all. First try a reset and see if the update finishes. I have my doubts, but it will not hurt to try. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen again, then let go of the buttons.
IF that doesn't jog the update into completing, you will have to restore your iPad using iTunes and you will need to use recovery mode.
If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • TS1424 corrupted file downloading iTunes purchase

I was downloading a purchase from the iTunes store and one of the songs stopped downloading in the middle with the error message that the song was corrupted. The same thing happened after following the direction to "Check for Available Downloads."
    Any thoughts?

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • Corrupt file downloaded from OTN

Cannot open file - it does not appear to be a valid archive.
The download completes without error. However OTN indicates a file size of approx 500M yet the downloaded file is 179,512k.
Is the OTN file corrupt ? or is the download corrupting the file ?
Is there an FTP site I can download from ?
    Gerard.
So that we may better diagnose DOWNLOAD problems, please provide the following information.
    - Server name
    - Filename 9011NTSrv_Disk1
    - Date/Time 13 May
    - Browser + Version IE 5.5
    - O/S + Version NT4
    - Error Msg

Thank you, Ideato' for taking an interest in this issue.
What you say cannot be because this is a package for Corporate use with drivers for an entire series of printers. They surely know that an IT department would store the files on some file server. I can understand why FF has all of its Open options greyed out. It intelligently senses that the file is missing, and it is not too difficult to program.
    Thanks again.

  • WRT54GS v1 Corrupting large file downloads - how to fix?

I have a two week old WRT54GS v1 (firmware 1.0.02) that appears to be corrupting file downloads of more than 2 or 3 Gb, more specifically program installation downloads.
When downloading, the files appear to arrive properly according to their file sizes.  However, in both instances I've experienced this week with installation packages from different sources, the installation would fail with either Error 2350 or Error 11FD.  (file corruption errors)
If I take the router out of the loop by connecting the desktop directly to the cable modem, the packages come through without error.
It has been suggested that this has something to do with a broken transmission or filter issue caused by the NAT hardware firewall (I don't have a clue what that means)
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Rick Grant

You should try to upgrade your router's firmware, reset and re-configure it...
    Download Firmware 1.7 MB...
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
After re-configuring the router, observe the connection and see if it corrects your problem...

  • How can i delete a corrupted file that will not download?

I recently purchased a song on itunes and i keep getting a message that tells me to try redownloading due to the song being a corrupt file.  When i attempt to redownload the song, i get another error message that tells me the download could not be completed. At this point i just want to delete the download, but since it was never actually downloaded it wont go away.  Everytime i open my itunes i get the error message and it continues to pop up every ten minutes.  Please help!

Highlight the said file on the Music section of your Library, and press the Backspace key.  When asked whether you want to move to the trash, say yes.  Then you may download it again looking in Your Account in the purchased section.

    Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.
Thanks, let me know if the update helps,
    Nathan

Download again, move the existing file out of the applications folder first.

  • Web Pages and file download corruption Cisco VPN

We have a problem our users are having. Clients are having problems using Cisco 5.06 VPN along with Internet Explorer. Quite often web pages hang or load incorrectly or unformatted. Also links to documents or downloads are downloaded unusable (i.e. a PDF file that is corrupt). If you refresh the page or retry the download it will work eventually. None of these problems exist while they are directly on the corporate network. (Win7 32-bit OS)
Our standard corporate VPN installation package uses Cisco VPN 5.0.06.0160 which installs version 3.22.4.17992 of DNE (Deterministic Network Enhancer), It also installs the DNE Update version 4.9.1.1837. This combination works correctly in our standard corporate build. The problem exists in two of non-standard builds on a couple different hardware models.
If I uninstall the DNE update and the VPN client and just install the VPN client by itself without the DNE Update (which leaves the client at 3.22.4.17992 for DNE) the problem goes away and the web pages load correctly and the files download properly.
I have tried the latest DNE, and updates to the NIC driver without success. Any suggestions or logic to why the newer versions of DNE will not work. The hardware we are using are high end HP and Dell Mobile workstations that are only about a year old. We have a problem our users are having. I would leave it alone for the next few days and do not keep restarting the Homehub. This will cause DLM (Dynamic Line Management) to kick in and lower your speeds because it will interpret the restarts as a fault. It is normal for the speeds to fluctuate during the training period. If things do not improve after the ten day training period post back for more advice.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
You can try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
Do not forget to re-enable the scanning in your anti-virus software after you are finished with downloading and installing.

  • Firefox PDF viewer (plugin) corrupts files upon download

This is a bug report. We have found that PDF files opened in the Firefox built-in viewer (plug-in) can become corrupted when downloaded using the 'Download' icon on the upper right-hand corner of the screen. When we attempt to open one of these damaged files using Acrobat, this error message is displayed:
'There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired.'
If we instead download the file by right-clicking in the viewer plug-in and select 'Save Page As...' the file is downloaded undamaged.
One example where this behavior occurred is with the the file labeled: Butterfish Fishery Information Document
    on the page:
    http://www.mafmc.org/ssc-meetings/2013/april-may

Someone should agitate for uplifting the fix to Firefox 25. I've probably saved dozens of PDFs this way, some of which may be dynamically generated during a transaction and now unrecoverable. !!
''Note: I'm aware of one such unrecoverable corrupted file so far, because I forwarded it to someone for uploading into a document management system and they send the error message back to me. How many were not reported back to me? Hmmm...''

  • Error downloading video (corrupted file) need help

I began to download the new quicksilver snowboarding film "That's it That's All" and when i was about halfway through the download i got an error message pop up saying that the file was corrupted and to choose the "check for available downloads" under the "store" tab to fix it. but after doing this numerous times i still am not able to download the video fully and its stuck about halfway. does anyone know how to fix this?
(by the way, the error report code is 8008 if anyone cares.)

    Hello
    I repeat my offer.
Not only because I wish to try to help you but because I wish to be able to understand what is the source of the oddity.
I'm afraid because I found on these forums some messages about corrupted files.
As my brain is not so large than Apple's offices, I join together these reports and the description of some encountered oddities of iWork products used under Mac OS X 10.5.
At this time I don't know which is the wrongdoer but it's clear that the relations between the apps and the OS are not perfectly correct.

  • HT201272 I purchased Season 3 of the Walking Dead.  I cannot download the second episode of the season; corrupted file.  I submitted a feedback form, but they do not send a reply.  I tried to use the online help/support, got an error code for that page.

I just want my content.  I am frustrated at trying to get on-line help.  Either I will not get a reply to my feedback form, or the online support page has an error code, with "please try again later" or "start over".  I have paid for this content, and cannot download their corrupted file.

Are you in a country where TV shows can be re-downloaded - if you are then have you tried deleting that copy from your iTunes library and re-downloading it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes ?
When you say that you used the feedback page, do you mean the feedback page (which you won't get a reply to) or the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history on your account or the contact iTunes Support page ?
'report a problem' : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
contact iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption (if this page doesn't work then have you tried clearing your browsers history/cache and/or tried a different browser ?)

  • Downloaded new itunes...corrupted file

I tried to download the new 6.0.5 itunes version and it downloaded completely and asked if i wanted to run the program. i clicked run and it loaded a bar that said itunes + quicktime but when it finished loading it said that the file was corrupt and that i needed to download a fresh copy. I delete the file from my computer and try redownloading. this time it takes seconds because it was loaded once before. Still i get the same message that it is a corrupt file and that i need to load a fresh copy...how can i get it to work?

Well, before installing a new download, you would
probably need to uninstall the old version at this
point, or it will probably continue to give you the
    corrupt file message.
if you have issues in uninstalling and reinstalling,
try some of the things in this link...
