Corrupt file in the updated firefox 8.0

I updated to firefox, got a page up that said 'Thanks for downloading Firefox, but this version is out of date. For the latest security, performance and feature enhancements we strongly recommend that you get the newest version instead. 8.0, so I downloaded the new version, when i clicked on the firefox 8.0 exe, got a pop up saying 'cannot open file, file is corrupt'. Can anyone please let me know what to do next coz ive no idea thanks

Can anyone help me out??? Every time i try to do a live chat for firefox theres never anyone on line and really need to know what to do.
Ive started to download the version again, but its been 7hrs and its only a third of the way through, aprrox d/l time remaining is over 5 hours = is it supposed to take that long??

In the former Firefox version there was a box to click for converting YouTube music videos into HQ mp3 files. That box is no longer apparent in the new Firefox version. I went back to Ad-On s and re-downloaded the program YouTube to MP3 1.2. It says it's not compatible with Firefox 6.0. Can I reinstall the older version of Firefox?

When I clicked on the second site mentioned, I got such EXPLICIT, step-by-step directions!!! Thank you so much. I'd been wondering what that window was that kept popping up with the Firefox icon and that other funny thing. The word *install* was never mentioned. Pictographs were never my thing.

Will the firefox 25 update really reinstall the 4 uninstalled Kaspersky internet files after the update is complete?

I'm concerned that the updating process will not reinstall my Kaspersky internet security files when the updating is done. I have asked Kaspersky this same question but did not get a satisfactory answer. I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 on a Windows Vista OS.

Firefox won't uninstall any Kaspersky files during the update process, nor will it reinstall any that weren't there before the update process.
What Firefox will do is '''disable''' any Kaspersky extensions that aren't marked by Kaspersky as compatible with Firefox 25. and once Kaspersky fixes "their stuff" and your PC receives those updated files, those Firefox extensions will work again. Firefox checks compatibilty of extensions every time it is opened, so once your Kaspersky extensions are updated Firefox will automatically enable them on startup.
Kaspersky isn't known for timely updates of their Firefox add-ons. It's almost like the Kaspersky developers have trouble keeping track of the Firefox 6 week schedule for new version releases; or they wait until the last minute to test the compatibility of "their stuff" with Firefox.

Why is my Firefox Aurora seems to be located in Program Files (x86)\Aurora\updated\firefox.exe, but that directory doesn't exist on my computer?

I'm using FusionDisplay to get a taskbar for my second monitor, and the taskbar has worked well until now. Now when I open pinned Aurora, it opens a new application and doesn't merge with the pinned down application icon.
It seems to locate the Firefox.exe to Program Files (x86)\Aurora\updated\firefox.exe, which doesn't exist. Also windows task manager right click menu for firefox.exe won't open anything when I click Open File Location.

Hi. I'm having the same problem with Final versions of Mozilla applications (FF and TB) on Win7 x64 as well. I don't have Display Fusion or the likes.
This started around FF15, and happens about every other update since. This is Very frustrating. Restarting the computer fixes it though. I'd never believe I'd have to restart the computer after pretty much about every update, major or minor. Now this happened to me for both FF19->19.02, and TB 17.0.3->17.0.4 at the same time. No other software running meanwhile.
This happens for about the 3 or 4th time. It's frustrating to have to restart every now and then for a browser update.
I'll stick to a version for both (19.0.2 and 17.0.4) forever, thanks Mozilla! Couple that with the inability of most versions of TB to sustain a longer uptime than 10-15 days with no addons and just 4 pop accounts with 50-100 emails and just one with 1000.

ITunes.exe Corrupt File run the Chkdsk utility

When I connect my nano it doesn't add any songs and a warning comes up from my tray that says"iTunes:iTunes.exe Corrupt File run the Chkdsk utility." I typed Chkdsk into run and ran it. Nothing changed. Also when I connect my nano it says "Attempt to write to iPod failed. The disk cannot be read from or written to." Can anyone help me with this problem?

Chances are you are looking at the place holder of a large image. Go to the preferences and check that View Large Images is checked.

Am I the only one getting calls from 253-802-0308 about malicious file downloads after updating FIREFOX?

After updating Firefox I start getting calls from 253-802-0308 (International Telcom in Auburn Washington, found using 411.com). The report that they are getting messages that my Windows PC is reporting the downloading of malicious files. I don't think that there is a connection with Mozilla but it only started after I ran the last 2 or 3 updates to Firefox. Searches on Google and other search engines don't show logical connections to the phone calls and the problem being reported to me. None of my anti-virus programs, Ccleaner, DEFENDER & AVG pickup and malicious files. I'm curious about who they may be because when I question them during the calls they end up hanging up on me. Just wondering if similar problems are being reported.

That is a reported scammer set-up. Read some of the following from actual phone customers. It is not related to your Firefox updates. I have gotten a few of these types of calls on my '''''unlisted '''''home phone number over the past several years. They use a dialer, usually automatic and sequential number dialing. Get a loud whistle to blow into the phone mouth piece or one of those loud air horns from the hardware/sporting good store; this kind of trash deserves broken ear drums.

How does a corrupted file affect the vault update?

If I would have updated the vault after the files got corrupted, wouldn't the corruption get updated as well? Wouldn't that defeat the purpose?

I believe it's meant to only copy files that it knows have changed.
I.e. old masters wouldn't get re-copied, but version updates, metadata changes, new imported masters would.
Of course, many people here reported having a lot of problems with the Vault mechanism in version 1, but others seem to have no problem at all (suggesting a subtle system configuration difference.)

I also run Norton Internet Security, but have never had a problem updating Firefox w/ Norton running..I've tried installing the new version 7..0.1 3 times to no avail.
edit: removed phone number even though spambots may already have it.

What happens when you try and install? Any error messages? Have you tried right clicking on the installer and choosing 'Run as Administrator'?

Corrupt file during progam update

Last night I was told to update my programs (I had been told to do so for about two weeks but last night I finally got around to doing it). When I restarted my computer, it was completely reverted back to the very first time I used it...it was stripped to bare basics. Fortunately, I found all my files buried in my hard drive. I lost all my pictures though.
My point, how can I know if I have a corrupt file before updating my computer so this won't happen again and so I don't have to spend 3 hours rebuilding my entire computer? It just seems so inconvenient to update my computer now if I risk having to rebuild it every time. Is there a program I can use (or get) that locates corrupt files--also for viruses?

You should also always repair permissions on the drive after installing an update.

Missing iPhone backup in iTunes from iOS5 update. What happens to the backup files from the update process?

My PC had a BSOD while restoring my data. After I restarted, opened iTunes, and connected my phone, the restore did not resume. (I have seen the restore process resume after an interruption.) I tried to manually restore the data, but iTunes does not list the backup that was taken during the update process. Is this backup stored in a different location or format? Is there a way I can get my data back? I tried an extraction tool from the web and it didn't detect the backup from the update.

Same with me; I only found one backup dating back from august; tried that and works fine. But missing all my pics/vids in between. I have been searching my pc for files that were created on the day of the OS upgrade, but could not figure out any backups...

Add-on developers need to keep up with new versions of Firefox as they are released and update their product. Have you checked with IDM to see if they have an update for you to install? Or ask them when they are going to have an update ready for 5.0.

Could you have accidentally toggled the photo to video? In the lower right (usually) corner there's a little icon that has both film and video camera and a tiny slider between them. That's how you switch from one to the other.
