Corrupt file when Downloading iTunes+Quicktime

Im on my sisters laptop and when I try to install iTunes, it says there is a corrupt file. Im sorry if someone else has had this problem and Im just repeating it. But, she has had iTunes before, but had her pc wiped out. Could that have something to do with it? And is anyone else having this problem

There is a very comprehensive post on the subject at this link: "What to do if Windows displays an "iTunes.exe - Corrupt File" message" http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1726580#1726580

  • When downloading iTunes onto a new computer, is there any way to automatically import old music files? Last time I got a new computer I didn't have to use an external drive to update my music library.

When downloading iTunes onto a new computer, is there any way to automatically important songs from your previous computer? I recently cracked the screen on my computer and cannot access any files. Last time I got a new computer my iTunes media files automatically appeared in my iTunes when I downloaded it, and I did not have to use my external drive. Is this still possible?

If your backup copy of the old computer was not stolen, then use it to put everything back.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Application, won't install normally.

  • TS1424 when downloading itunes update it fails because it can't find  "iTunes.msi"

when downloading itunes update it fails because it can't find  "iTunes.msi" whaat can I do please?

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • System services error when downloading itunes

I received an error when updating iTunes. I uninstalled it.
When downloading iTunes from the website, I get as far as System Services and I receive an error.
Retry and Ignore do not work.

Thanks for posting the link.  That worked for me just fine.  I had previously uninstalled & reinstalled Itunes but that didn't work because I was not removing all the folders associated with it. Have a great week!

It means you have already installed iTunes on your computer. If your iTunes' version is lowere than 10.7, you need to click on "Repair" so it installs the newer version.

  • HT5485 When downloading itunes 10.7, the download stops at the publishing prompt.  what can I do?

When downloading itunes 10.7 on my pc, the download stops at the publishing prompt.  What can I do?

iTunes 10.7 and the iPhone 5 require Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer. Mac OS X 10.6.8 requires an Intel Mac with at least 1GB of RAM; to get it, click here, buy and install the DVD, and run Software Update.
