Corrupt Image file stuck in Camera roll - please help

I downloaded a background the other day for my iP4, and went to import it to iPhoto today. It apparently is corrupt (it says it's a JPEG but iPhoto says it can't be read) and also is unopenable on the phone itself. So it basically wont leave my Camera Roll nor will it open on the phone or on the computer.
I downloaded iPhone Explorer for my Macbook and "deleted" the file and its data in MISC but now it is just a black thumbnail. The photo whether how it originally looked as a thumbnail or the black thumbnail it is now can never be opened on the screen. Therefore I never could delete it from the camera roll "normally" and still cannot.
I just restored my phone hoping the Camera Roll would perhaps delete itself. Sadly, it did not, but it was worth a try. Is there a way to access a previous backup from let's say last week before I saved this photo? A delete from iPhoto also isn't working.
Also, the phone was never jailbroken, etc. It's in tip-top shape, except for this annoying corrupt file.

Photos in the Camera Roll are included with your iPhone's backup. When restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup, what is available in your iPhone's backup in regards to the Camera Roll is restored with it.
iTunes has a single backup for the iPhone which is updated as the first step during the iTunes sync process. A new backup is created when restoring your iPhone with iTunes and I believe a new backup is created when installing a firmware update. The previous backups remain available to select.
Go to iTunes > Preferences and check under the Devices tab for the available backups.
You may need to end up restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.

Files Stuck in the Trash - please help

Ok so when I try to delete this one file (it was actually my palm desktop), it says it can't because file "localized.rsrc" is in use.
So, for all intensive purposes, this file is "stuck" in my trash, it won't delete.
How do I stop this file "localized.rsrc"? Spotlight won't even find it, I can't find it in activity monitor.
How do I shut it down, or finally delete this file?!

Each time I tried "toying" with the files, like renaming them, putting them in their own folder, etc... it started messing up my computer... Icons wouldn't show up, things disappeared (transiently)... I had to reboot often to try to get a hold of things.
For that reason, and a few more I chose to reformat and be done with it... I keep a pretty strict backup on my iPod anyway, so it only took me a little over an hour.
Now the files are gone!!!!
For future notice, you can just search for Palm and the filename in google and you can find many resources to get it out using Terminal.
Unfortunately it is a bit complicated, and I only had enough patience to reformat, not runaround with code that I've never used before.
So good luck to others getting rid of these files, because I still can't figure out why they're in use, and why I can't get them out of use to delete.

Corrupt Project File?!?! Please Help!!!

So this has not been a good week. I have been working on this project in FCP 6 for the last few months. The project was finished so I used media manager to consolidate all the files as well as delete all non used media. I then moved my project files (from FCP, Motion, STP, DVD SP, Color, & Logic) to the drive as well. (this is how I store finished project for clients.) well, the client wanted one minor change made which was just as well because I didn't like 1 transition that I missed as was going to change anyways. So I connect the drive (external LaCie Bigger Disk Extreme Triple Interface) to my FW800 port. Mount it, locate the most recent project file and drag it to my desktop. It copies, very very very slowly - 4MB proj. file 3 min transfer. when it finished the drives unmounts and wont remount. spent 1/2 a day on the phone with Tech support with apple & disk warrior. we deturmined the drive is not only dead due to a hardware failure but it managed to wipe all the info completely off the disk as well. I will survive I figured I could always recapture the footage because I still had that 1 project file. I went to open it, FCP launches, and then...
FCP can not read project file. thats it. no number, not error code, no explination. So does anyone know if there is any way to rebuild a project file, open in imovie, or FCP express or something that would allow me to do anything with this project file or do I have do redo months of work in a weekend and I am just SOL?

So I have been in the process of re-importing all day today. Still not solution and anything would be more helpful than nothing... even if i am just SOL. I am importing through a HDV deck via FW into ProRes 422. I tried ProRes 422 HQ but it crashed FCP after only 2 minutes of importing. is there that big of a difference or am I fine going from HDV to ProRes instead of ProRes HQ. Thanks

Attempting to upgrade to Firefox 3.6 (using an ancient Mac OS 10.3), but received an error message (corrupt image file) when downloading - any way to correct this with my current OS?

I'm currently trying to update a few programs on my good old (VERY old) Mac Powerbook, but I ran into an error when downloading Firefox version 3.6...I'm currently running Mac OS X 10.3.9, which isn't compatible with the most recent versions of Firefox (or anything, for that matter), but it should still allow an upgrade of version 3.6; however, once the file finished downloading, an error message popped up indicating there's a corrupt image file. Is there any way to work around/correct this problem, or am I stuck with my old version of Firefox until I bite the bullet and upgrade my OS??? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Firefox 3.6 requires at least OS X 10.4, the last version of Firefox that runs on OS X 10.3.9 is Firefox 2.0.0.20 available from https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/mac/en-US/

The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera. Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.

Corrupt image files cause upgraded iPhoto to crash

I have been spending some time trying to find and remove corrupt image files from my iPhoto library. These are not just scrambled images when viewed they crash any and every program you view them with. Including Finder. I accidentally put one on my desktop and finder went into a auto restart cycle I could not stop. until I removed the file with pathfinder. I have found about 30 of these so far (my library is about 25,000) Many of these are in the data file but some are not. They are of all types (jpg,tiff,psd) Thorsten Lemke, (Lemke Software) tells me it is a quicktime issue.

1. is there some way to fix these
2. is there some efficient way to find and remove/fix them?

I did try the link, and as you said - it crashed Safari. However, I have google searched and also searched the Apple Support sites for 'fix corrupt images' with no luck. I'm sorry but I think the only way of knowing is to try and open each of them.
However, I did read on Macworld's site once that sometimes photoshop or other image editing programs can open the corrupt files.
Sorry for not being much help here - I hoped that my first suggestion would have done the trick.

Thank you very much for sharing your file with us! Now that we are able to reproduce the problem at our end, you may stop sharing the file on Acrobat.com.
Do you know when this problem (for not being able to add new highlight/strikeout/underline) has started? Did you update your iOS from 7.x to 8.0 recently?

Thank you for the tip on exporting by media browser (large) from imovie. But of course, if it's not one thing it's another. Now that I figured how to export a large file from imovie, I have an idvd issue. I followed the instructions for burning from idvd and changing the encoding to professional quality and the burn speed to x4, but I am receiving an error that states the following,
Your project exceeds the maximum content duration. To burn your DVD, change the encoder setting in the Project Info window.
Project:
- total project duration: 79:04 minutes
- total project capacity: 4.327 GB (max. available: 4.172 GB)
Menus:
- number of menus in project: 1 menus
- total menu duration: 0:39 minutes
- total menu capacity: 37.370 MB
Movies:
- total movies duration: 78:25 minutes
- total movies capacity: 4.291 GB
I have searched in the idvd forum for similar issues and I am stumped at this point. I have tried deleting the encoding assets and re launching idvd with the changed preferences, and still the same error. I know you mentioned something about free hard drive space available, and I have very little left. 4GB to be exact due to massive hours of non-edited footage. I am not sure if this is why, but I do not recall ever needing free space to burn memory onto a separate dvd. I would be more than happy if I am wrong, and it would be a quick fix. Otherwise, the technical nightmare continues. It's all a learning process and your expertise is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Yes - well you have to make the file in a word processing Application.
You could use TextEdit (it's free) Pages (words only), or Numbers (data base) (they are part of iWorks - and may or may not be free (included) on your machine. You could use MS Office (it is not free) You could use any Open source word processor that plays well with Office (NeoOffice, StarOffice) they are free.
That's how you create content and copy/paste URLS. Then you save the file to the desktop. If you are going to make more than one file... you make a folder on the desktop and save, or drag the file(s) into it.
You attach it to your e-mail client which will compress it and e-mail it. An excellent reference is to use Help, from the menu bar, also from inside any application. From your library or book store the OS X for Dummies has a lot of useful information (you don't read it cover to cover but look up chapters about what you'd like to do)
You can also make appointments at your local Apple store for individualized help (if a store is nearby)

Good news and bad news:
The bad news is that you need CS6 or higher to open 6D RAWs. (The 6D didn't get support until Camera Raw 7.3; 7.0 premiered in CS6.) You can choose to upgrade (I'd recommend skipping CS6 and go straight for CC 2014 for $10/month) *OR*...
...the good news is that the DNG Converter can help you convert your RAWs into DNGs for use in CS5 and Lightroom 3.
