Corrupt Images after syncing Photos

Has anyone experienced corrupt images after performing a sync?
After activation and at some point during my first sync my machine blue screened. After a reboot it appears that everything is running smooth, however, I notice that most of the pictures that are synched are corrupted and many didn't synch at all.
I removed all synch images and re-synched but I'm still experiencing the same problem.
I'm hoping its an issue with Vista or iTunes and not my phone. Looks like I'm going to have to go out and get that Mac Book Pro after all

Are you saying that the photos are appearing in the wrong albums, or that the photos are in their correct albums but are displayed in the different order within them ? If they are in the wrong albums then try deleting the photo cache from your computer and re-try the sync - the location of the cache, and how to delete it, is on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
If the photos are displayed in the wrong order in the albums, then they will be displayed by capture date order unless you are syncing via iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac. To get them in a different order you will need to manipulate their capture dates : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4221

  • Loaded new ipad(3) from ipad 1 backup.  After sync photos look low-res. Is there a way to get higher res images?

Have a new ipad (3rd gen).  Loaded apps from a backup of my original ipad.
So far everything is okay except the photos.  After the sync,  all the photos
appear to be low resolution and/or grainy.
I'm guessing this may be due to itunes or iphoto using lower resolution images when syncing to the ipad.
Is there any way to change this to a higher resolution or full resolution setting?

The resolution shouldn't change from one sync to the next - even if you sync to a new device - if the photos were in your photos folder on your computer and that is the sync folder that you have chosen to sync again - the resolution doesn't change.
    Try some basic "fixes".
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit the photos app and restart.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.

  • Half grey images after sync

Since updating to Mavericks I am having the following issues :
Syncing Photos from Itunes (the top part of 50% of photos are fine but the lower half is just all grey)
iTunes keeps saying "finishing sync" even after 30mins
It's not every photo but the majority, I have even tried syncing via wifi instead of USB
Viewing these photos in iPhoto on the laptop are 100% fine no grey
Please help as this is annoying :(

Go into 'Music', press 'more', press 'Shared' and press whatever computer/device you synced on.  I have had exactly the same problem and stumbled on this solution literally minutes ago.  No need to delete your whole library and reload or re-sync.  Interested to know if it works for you too.  I've still got the same problem with synced home videos and photos but will carry on to see if can stumble across the solution to that too now that I seem to be on a roll!!  Music videos are fine now as well, just home videos and photos not accessible yet.  Good luck!

  • How do I fix missing and corrupted images after update to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 and Aperture 3.4?

Last night I tried to update to Aperture 3.4 on my MacBook Pro (late 2007 / 3,1 model) and received a message that I needed to install Mountain Lion 10.8.2 first.  However, there was no update in my App Store account for 10.8.2.  The update for 10.8.2 appeared above the Aperture 3.4 update after I restarted the laptop and rechecked for updates.  I proceeded to update Mountain Lion and then Aperture.  Everything seemed to be working fine so I opened Aperture 3.4 and watched it update the database without any issues...
Upon examining the small library (of approximately 1200 images totaling about 8 GB) that I leave on this MacBook Pro specifically for testing Aperture updates, I observed the following:
I know anything can happen with stored images, so I try to create redundancy by duplicating important photos on import to an external device, running Time Machine backups and keeping memory cards stored away until I am comfortable with the integrity of the first 2 methods.  I am not really worried about this specific Aperture Library on this laptop because it has become my "laboratory" for testing new updates before we apply them to our other computers.
In general, I try not to be too early of an adopter when it comes to software and updates--even though I have had remarkably few problems with Apple updates in the past.  However, my success rate with Apple's products and "feature curiosity" occasionally leads me to update early!  It is my curiosity that, again, has me wondering:  What went wrong and how can I fix this in case it happens to something important in the future?

I still don't know what happened to my test Aperture Library after the update to 3.4...Not only were my previews lost, but so were the original images!  Needless to say, I haven't bothered to update the main library on the Mac Pro because I don't want to deal with this level of uncertainty (even with backups in place).

  • Corrupted images after editing

I have retouched a batch of tiff photos using the Spot healing tool. I was perfectly happy with the quality of the edit as i saved them. On reopening the images later i noticed that there are blurred/distorted marks all over the images. (near the areas retouched)
I can revert to the original images and undo all corruptions, including retouch edits. Again i have retouched the images and again the same problem occurs.
I have rebuilt iphoto data base using option/Command keys but that didn't fix the problem.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Folks
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and make a new library there. Import a couple of pics and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.
    Regards

  • Itunes will not sync photos to ipad 3 properly

Problems I've had since ipad 3:
I download and install latest itunes
i tell it to restore from backup of my ipad 2 - it fails, it simply does not give me the choice to pick my ipad 2 restore, so i end up doing new setup.
i tell itunes to slectively backup a folder containing 174 jpeg images that synced fine on my ipad 2 but on my ipad 3 it fails
i can see itunes copying the 174 images but when i check on my ipad 3 they are not there. in fact it copied only 3 files.
so i try again. i tell it to backup 6 folders of which contain a total of about 500 images
after sync/copy is done i verify and there is only like 20 images?? where are the rest?
i've tried every possible combination but no matter what it will only copy a few of the files.
anyone else have problems syncing photos? it seems to work fine syncing apps, music just not photos which is my main use of the device since i'm a photographer.
    any ideas would be grateful.
    i've tried reinstalling
setup my ipad as new and gone thru the whole process
i double checked my jpeg files are they are present in the folder and open up fine.
i just cant get itunes to sync photos properly.

Select you device from the left sidebar of iTunes and navigate to the Photos tab at the top. Do you have the Sync Photos With checkbox checked and set to iPhoto?

  • Problem while syncing photo to iPhone and iPad. ITunes 10.3.1 mac

It never happened before but just happened today with iTune 10.3.1 mac.  I am using it on 10.6.8.
Between last time and now, I did update some mac 10.6.8. and today some java for mac os.  After syncing photo to iPad today, I noticed some photos are incomplete.  Half of the photo is white.  Some with complete photo but incomplete thumbnail. It happened to 30-40 photos out of 1200+.  I deleted ipod photo cache and resync the photo but it happened mostly to the same photos that had problem with slight variations.  I tried the same with my iPhone and had the same problem.  I tried 3-4 times and the problems remained.  So I can only suspect that something went wrong while iTune optimizes photos.
The only way to solve this for now is to remove the problematic photos and resync them one photo at a time.  Anyone noticed similar problem please give me some advice.

I have the same issue and tried all of the following without success (hoping to save others the hassle):
    Rebooted phone
    Restored phone and imported backup
Restored phone with no backup and imported photos
Moved photo folder elsewhere on machine and tried to sync it
Tried variety of folders with different images from different devices
    Restarted Mac
    Repaired permissions on mac
Ran Disk Utility and repaired hard drive, found a few issues
    Deleted iTunes Cache
    Deleted iTunes related plists
    Deleted iPod cache each time
Ran TouchCopy and deleted the photo plists forcing the phone to rebuild the database
Turned syncing of photos off and on again
    Ran all weekly/monthly cron jobs
New iphone 4 at Apple Store still repro'd
    And so on . . .
    Other notes:
Synced to iPod Touch I have and the same photos synced just fine
Restored phone as new and synced on another computer the same folder of photos that I copied over to it and it worked, but it is my husbands computer that I don't keep my photos on/use for syncing normally
Imported the same folder to iPhoto without copying the photos and it works, but I don't want to use iPhoto so not an option for me. Or using a different computer also worked, but not an option.
I went to the genius bar as well after trying all of the above and they had no idea and had not seen this. It appears to be more of a computerissue than an iphone 4 issue though. I say this since putting the same files on another computer (my husbands) synced fine to the phone. They replaced my iphone 4 and the issue STILL repro'd with nothing else on the phone with my computer.
    Config:
MacBook Pro purchased December 2010, 10.6.8, latest software updates installed, iPhone 4 latest updates installed
    Still troublehooting

  • Pictures not showing in photo app after syncing.

I synced my N8 with windows media player after the anna update but couldn't see any pictures in the photo app. Pictures are already on the device inside "pictures" (not "images") folder in E: drive. After playing a bit, i figured out that photos app only read the pictures inside "images" folder of E: drive. Is there any possible way to make photo app read files in the "pictures" folder or make Windows Media Player sync with the "images" folder instead of "pictures" folder. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I guess you just have to move them every time from Pictures folder to Images you sync with windows media and I prefer to start using Ovi Suite to sync
to move a file you should mark it first then click Options - Organize - Move to - choose whatever folder you want
If I've helped in any way, a click upon the star over on the left would always be appreciated.
If however my answer also solves your problem clicking below it will benefit other users!

  • Photos on iphone disappeared after sync

My photos on the iphone disapeared after sync. Still, more than 10 giga are marked "other" on my itunes sync window. I cannot restore or find them.
How do I fix this? I don't mind the photos, since they are all backed up on iphoto, but I would like to free those 10 GB of memory. Ideas, anyone?

An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" included corrupted files.  Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
    To restore from backup see:

  • Syncing photos after fatal disk error

I had previously uploaded photos from my MacBook Pro iphoto library not taken with the iPhone to the iPhone iPhoto library. After a fatal disk error, my HD was replaced, and now I'm unable to sync those photos back to the MacBook Pro iPhoto library. Outside of emailing these photos (which significantly decreases the quality of the image), is there any way to get these back on my laptop?

Hi. I had a similar issue with being unable to sync. I did the following:
-quit iPhoto, rename your iPhoto Library (to something temporary)
-launch iPhoto, create a new Library when prompted, drag an image in so there's something to sync
-turn photo syncing off and back on, sync the single test image (it will warn you that it's set to sync to another library), make sure you can see it on the phone
-quit iPhoto, trash the new library, set the name of your original library back to its original name, relaunch iPhoto make sure they're visible
-set the sync photo sync options in iTunes and sync your phone
So, put simply, it's being pointed to a new library, syncing, then being pointed back to your original library. I hope this helps.

  • Hi,  iTunes is no longer syncing my iPhoto library to my iPhone 4. Everything was syncing fine when I first got the phone, but, over the past week or so, it's stopped syncing photos.   Now, after attempting to start from scratch by deleting all the photos

    Hi,
iTunes is no longer syncing my iPhoto library to my iPhone 4. Everything was syncing fine when I first got the phone, but, over the past week or so, it's stopped syncing photos.
Now, after attempting to start from scratch by deleting all the photos on my iPhone, iTunes won't sync ANY photos from iPhoto back to my iPhone. I've restarted my phone, computer, etc., force quit all photo-related apps on my iPhone, and tried various combinations of turning iTunes' photo syncing on/off, switching photo sync folders, etc., all to no avail -- I can't get my iPhoto library back on to my iPhone no matter what I do.
Anyone encounter a similar situation? (I've already sent feedback to Apple.) Thanks in advance.

Try deleting what is called the iPod Photo Cache.
