"Corrupt Installation Detected" Nidaq693.exe on windows vista

I'm having problems running Nidaq693.exe on vista (labview 8.2). I have the only account on the machine and therefore everything have privilige to install whatever I like. I've tried running it in compatibility mode and using the "run as admin" option to no avail. I ran it on a different pc including the associated LV61Eng.exe then copied it across to this machine. The installer then returns the following error "Error 1335. The cabinet file 'daqdriver.cab" required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This couldindicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."   Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

As you can see on the download page, 6.9.3 is not supported on Vista. None of the traditional DAQ drivers are supported under Vista. Vista required vendors to rewrite their drivers and since the traditional DAQ drivers are obsolete, NI made the decision not to spend the time porting them over to Vista. If you have a card supported with DAQmx, then you can use that. Otherwise, you will have to change your OS or get a DAQ board that is supported with DAQmx.

    Hello Friends,
I have been unable to download the patch for developer 10g forms as I am not a metalink registered user. But I have downloaded other browsers such as firefox2 and netscape 9.0.0.6. I am trying to run my forms 10g rel2 with these browsers. But on netscape it says Java is not enabled, even though I have enabled Java. And it shows me a grey page. On firefox 2, it says 'click here to download plugin'. After you click on it, it says 'No suitable plugins were found', 'Unknown plugin(application x/jinit-applet; version 1.3.1.22) and a text box is beside it labelled 'Manual Install'. When you click on this manual install button, it takes me to this page :
    http://ajayia-pc:8889/forms/jinitiator/us/jinit_download.htm.
Please can anyone help with advice as to what direction to go. I am stuck with my installation. I am using Windows Vista Operating System.
    Many Thanks.

  • Installation of ODTwithODAC1110621 fails on Windows Vista

In order to get a Oracle OLE DB provider for .Net, I installed downloaded ODTwithODAC1110621.zip from the Oracle.com website. It installs fine on Windows XP, but when I try an install in Vista, it ends just a minute after the start with a message box entitled Java Virtual Machine launcher
"Cannot find main class. The program will now exit".
(This is at the point of preparing the installation - it shows a command prompt (DOS) window and says wait ...., then it says cannot find xxx something or other and gives the above message).
The Oracle database 11g is supposed to run on Vista, even 10g does, and the above data provider should run on Vista too.
I do need to install it on Vista. Any help appreciated.

Yes you will need to install the apple drivers for win vista. When you boot from a cold start, have you tried holding down the option key to choose which OS to boot from? If you have then, you could try going into startup options from the mac side and choose win vista if it appears. That could be risky though, as you mentioned you do not have the mac install disk. If problems arise you may need the mac install disk to undo the changes.

I have downloaded java_ee_sdk-5_05-windows.exe to install the applications server on Windows Vista. I have followed all the steps at the installation, and it worked ok.

    Please, any help.
    Thanking in advance,
    Oggie Svennson

I have found this page (http://osdir.com/ml/java.netbeans.j2ee/2007/msg01651.html), where they are talking about
a possible solution to my problem, but I am not sure at all. I can change my Windows Vista administrator name,
Jos, by localhost. I guess GlassFish does not work with this tag
    <jms-service addresslist-behavior="random" addresslist-iterations="3" default-jms-host="default_JMS_host" init-timeout-in-seconds="60"
    reconnect-attempts="3" reconnect-enabled="true" reconnect-interval-in-seconds="5" type="EMBEDDED">
    <jms-host admin-password="admin" admin-user-name="admin" host="*Jos1*" name="default_JMS_host" port="7676"/>
</jms-service>I have tried to put localhost as the conversation recommend but GlashFish does not work as well. I think I am getting closer to the solution.
    Any idea?
    Thx

  • \\SERVER\Clients\Setup\setup.exe with Windows Vista Error

I added the first Vista client to an SBS 2003, SP1 domain.  Until now, all clients were WinXP, SP2.  Office 2003 is installed on the XP clients, and the Vista client, which may not be pertinent to this problem.
As is normal, "\\SERVER\Clients\Setup\setup.exe /s SERVER" is executed when a user logs on to any domain client.  On the Vista client, I always get the dialog -- regardless of the account privilege -- asking for permission to run Setup.exe.  It is annoying.  Occasionally, the Program Compatiblity Assistant will appear and advise there's a known compatiblity issue with Setup.exe.  It points to KB article 926505 for resolution.  The title of the KB is, "Windows Small Business Server 2003: Windows Vista and Outlook 2007 compatibility update."
When I run the SBS2003SP1-KB926505-X86-ENU.EXE fix, I get the error:  "This update cannot be installed.  Either it is already installed as part of an existing service pack, or it requires a more recent service pack.  For more information, see the systems requirements on the download page."
I installed Windows Server 2003 SP2 and run the KB926505 fix, but I get the same error  "This update cannot be installed.  Either it is already installed as part of an existing service pack" After a reboot of te SBS server the same  problem on the Vista client, I always get the dialog -- regardless of the account privilege -- asking for permission to run Setup.exe.  It is annoying.  Occasionally, the Program Compatiblity Assistant will appear and advise there's a known compatiblity issue with Setup.exe.  It points to KB article 926505 for resolution.
The problem is Windows Vista Business, because all windows XP clients have no problem at all.

    PNP,
You do not say whether if you accept the permission dialog whether the setup continues or not, but the short answer to the question revolves around UAC.
Remember that EVERY user (except the actual Administrator account) has only Standard user rights regardless of group.  When a task that requires Admin rights is executed, one of three things will happen: 1) If you are THE Administrator, then your task will continue.  2) If you have Admin rights, you will be prompted that a process is trying to use elevated rights and ask for permission, or 3) If you are a Standard user, you will either be denied flatly or prompted to supply credentials.  Which of these happen depend on GPO settings, but the default is to prompt.
In any event, I believe that this is what you are running into, and is one of the big feature improvements in Vista.  Yes, it can be a bit annoying (Try deleting an "All Users" icon from the Start Menu!) but is there to place one more barrier between virus and malware writers and your OS.
If it's TOO annoying to bear, you can turn off UAC by going into your profile and disabling it. (It requires Admin rights, of course. )  It is not recommended as you do a very effective job or nutering the Vista Security Model by doing so.
If it, of course, your choice.  we IT Admins have a lot more issues with this than the standard user, but for me, I gladly take the tradeoff because I worry a lot less about those few I HAVE to give Admin rights to.
    Good luck!

How to troubleshoot the above errors,

I would like to setup a development enviroment having Oracle SOA Suite 10g and Oracle Database Server 10g on my laptop. Please can anyone clarify whether these softwares are compatible with a laptop of below mentioned configuration:
    ===========================================================HP Pavilion dv9700t Notebook PC
Windows Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T5750 (2.0 GHz)
    17.0" diagonal WSXGA+ High-Definition HP BrightView Widescreen Display (1680 x 1050)
    3GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
    320GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    ===========================================================
I have gone through the compatibility matrix. However, the compatibility matrix mentions that Oracle software is compatible with EM64T processor.
Request clarification on whether an Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo Processor T5750
(2.0 GHz) belongs to EM64T family or not.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Balu

Unistalled iTunes and carried out all the activities in the support KB for this subject that Apple have published.
    Nothing has worked.
Am considering rebuilding but don't want to do something so terminal

  • Re: Runaway memory usage in Access Connections AcSvc.exe on Windows Vista (SP1).

Wow... They deleted my previous message where I complained about AC and suggested to use Windows built-in functions for Wi-Fi switching instead.
Well, I have Vista Business 64 on Thinkpad T61p and this piece of software just never worked properly out-of-the box. Neither does newer version 5.0.2. It still leaks memory and CPU badly, to which there's plenty of evidence (see my previous posts) and no solution.
Sure, deleting messages criticizing bad software is easier than addressing the problem.

For a change, I'm not the moderator who deleted that particular message, but looking at that moderator's comments in our archive, I believe he felt it was more of a rant and less of a productive critique of problems.
You can criticize all you like as long as it's reasonable and productive.

  • Help with installation of Illustrator (CS3 on Windows Vista)

I downloaded Illustrator onto my laptop, but when I go and try and nstall it, it gives a message saying: installation cannot continue until the following applications are closed: internet explorer.
Please close the applications listed above and click 'try again' to continue the installation.
The thing is that I do close IE!! I've tried re-starting, pressing CTRL + ALT + DEL, but nothing works! I am seriously desperate. What is the problem and how do I go about fixing it? I need Illustrator installed.

I do not know your exact problem and I do not know if this is going to do the job but for what it is worth. Uninstall IE restart your computer then install AI. Then reinstall IE.
As I say I do not know if this would work but it might be worth a try.
