Corrupt registry - cannot uninstall weblogic portal 10.3.2

I get the error "The local BEA product registry is corrupted" when I try to uninstall WLP 10.3.2. How can I go ahead and do a clean uninstall?

You may want to go to the domain (top of tree) in the admin console, then 'security', 'embedded LDAP' and play with the 2 options of "refresh replica at startup'" and "master first". I don't have enough info on what database is referring to or your configuration but these are areas you may want to look into.

  • ITunes file corrupted. Cannot uninstall or repair

    My iTunes had been working fine then out of the blue, it would no longer work. I could not start iTunes by itself. If I plug in my ipod, itunes gives me a message saying "itunes was not installed properly..." When I click ok, iTunes runs normally. However, if I try to double click the icon on the desktop, windows installer starts to run and then I get an error message saying "error writing to file: C:\ProgramFiles\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\da.lproj\iTunesHelp.chem Verify that you have access to that directory" I looked into this file and da.lproj is corrupted somehow and cannot open. I tried uninstalling and repairing neither work and always give me the error code 2330 before it is finished. Can anybody tell me why my iTunes is messed up and how to fix it?

    See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    iTunes should reinstall properly if you follow the process in the second box even if you can't get the iTunes uninstaller to run.

  • WebLogic Portal 10.3 cannot initialize graphical installation in Debian 6.0

    Hello everyone.
    I have a problem with installing WebLogic Portal (and WebLogic Server also) with graphic mode in Debian 6.0 Squeeze. I've installed normally in Ubuntu 10.04 amd64 (openjdk-6 amd64), and everything works nice.
    But when I tried to install it in my Debian 6.0 amd64 laptop (Dell Latitude e6400), I have alot of problems. I cannot install weblogic portal (file: portal103_linux32.bin) in graphic mode, and the same problems occur with creating weblogic domain (cannot run config.sh in graphical mode). I know that I can install WebLogic and create domain in command line mode, but the main problem is unable to run Eclipse (OEPE).
    I tried to change JVM from amd64 to i386 and from Sun JVM to JRockit JVM but nothing change. I'm a developer so that I cannot work without Eclipse, please help me to solve this problem.
    Thank in advance.

    This is a bug, CR379999. that will be fixed WLP 10.4. In the meantime, here's the workaround from the bug report:
    Download the plugin manually, and either 1) create an extension location on the file system from it and add that via Help|Software Updates|Manage Configuration, or 2) extract it to one of the workshop eclipse folders (i.e. tools/eclipse_pkgs/2.0/eclipse_3.3.2, tools/eclipse_pkgs/2.0/pkgs/eclipse, workshop_10.3/workshop4WP/eclipse, wlportal_10.3/eclipse).
    Additionally, you can comment out the com.* import lines in your %BEA_HOME%\wlportal_10.3\eclipse\features\com.bea.wlp_10.3.0\feature.xml, like this:
    <requires>
    <import plugin="org.eclipse.core.runtime" version="3.3" match="compatible"/>
    <import plugin="org.eclipse.ui" version="3.3" match="compatible"/>
    <!--
    <import feature="com.m7.nitrox" version="1.0.20" match="compatible"/>
    <import feature="com.bea.workshop.cmdline.feature" version="1.0.30" match="compatible"/>
    <import feature="com.bea.workshop.common.feature" version="1.1.40" match="compatible"/>
    <import feature="com.bea.workshop.upgrade81.feature" version="1.0.30" match="compatible"/>
    <import feature="com.bea.workshop.web.feature" version="1.0.20" match="compatible"/>
    <import feature="com.bea.workshop.wls.feature" version="1.1.30" match="compatible"/>
    <import feature="com.bea.workshop.xmlbeans.feature" version="1.0.30" match="compatible"/>
    -->
    </requires>
    Then restart Workshop. Sorry for the trouble.

  • Itunes corrupted cannot uninstall

    My itunes says it is corrupted and I cannot uninstall it.  I have tried Revo and it still appears.  I just want to update my itunes to a current version.  I am running version 8.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    Hi,
    Before going further, we can check whether this was caused by software restriction policy. To check out, we can go to Control Panel->Administrative
    Tools ->Local Security Settings-> Software Restriction Policies.
    Besides, this issue can be caused by corrupted registry keys. In this case, we can click
    Run button in the following page to fix it.

  • Protected View Error "The file is corrupt and cannot be opened"

    All
    I have a problem with Protected View in Office 2010 on Windows 7.
    Symptom:  When downloading a file from the Internet, the file will not open if launched directly from the source location, or saved locally and then opened.  This
    is impacting both Word and Excel.  I haven’t tested other applications.  The user gets the error "The file is corrupt and cannot be opened.".
    Expected behaviour:  Documents should open in Protected View because they are coming from an untrusted zone (Internet Zone).
    Troubleshooting Results:
     -      If I turn off Protected View the error goes away and the documents open without
    issue (but not in Protected View obviously)
    -      If I save the file locally, then copy it to a network drive, the problem goes away (because the zone information is changed?).
    -      If I save the file directly to a network location, then open it, the problem does not impact me (also doesn’t open in Protected View)
    -      If I repair Office the problem is NOT fixed
    -      If I reinstall Office the problem is NOT fixed
    The problem doesn't impact all machines, but any new machine I build suffers the problem.  All Protected View options are set by group policy and all machines are getting the correct settings.
    -       The setting “Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet” is enabled
    -       The setting “Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations” is enabled
    -      The setting “Enable Protected View for Outlook attachments” is enabled
    -      Enable Data Execution Prevention mode is enabled
    Has anyone seen this problem or can anyone offer suggestions of where to start looking for the root cause?  There are lots of postings on this around the various Internet forums, but most
    just suggest turning off Protected View, that is not a valid solution to my mind, Protected View is there for a very sound reason and it is not something I'm willing to turn off, especially when it is working on some machines as expected.
    Thanks.
    James.

    Thanks for coming back, James, and I'm glad you've found the source of your
    problem.
    As an aside, I had no idea HP made software like that and will take a look
    at it - or would if I could. Personally, although I love their hardware, I
    wouldn't touch HP software, and the fact that their web page doesn't load
    (in IE8) just reinforces my feeling.
    Enjoy,

  • Help me to add some libraries for WebLogic Portal project

    My Web portal project (10.3.2) that was created with Oracle Enterprise pack for Eclipse with some custom configurations:
    - Beehive controls
    - Beehive netUI
    - Struts 1.2
    - WebLogic Control Extension 10.2
    - full feature for "WebLogic portal"
    - "Portal application controld 10.3.2" and "Portal framework beehive adapter" support in WebLogic Portal (optional)
    I need these packages to process some user and group informations:
    - com.bea.p13n.controls.ejb.usermgmt
    - com.bea.p13n.controls.userInfoQuery
    - com.bea.portal.tools.security.group
    - com.bea.portal.tools.security.user
    My problem is impossible to import these package (except: com.bea.p13n.controls.ejb.usermgmt). I've read carefully API Javadoc for these package informations but it cannot help anymore.
    Anybody can tell me what libraries should be added to project to solve my problem ?
    Thank in advance.
    Ps:
    This is my screenshot for project configuration:
    http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll10/docphongm41/screenshot/screenshot.png

    Thank Kevin.
    I've fix my problem by adding some jar files, such as war-classes.jar which can be found in workspace/.metadata/.plugin/oracle.eclipse.tools.weblogic/libraries/wlp-tools-ugm-web-lib_10.3.2_10.3.2/1/WEB-INF/lib
    So, I can use UserID class in my source code without any error notification on Eclipse. Everything sound to be okay, but it isnt. When I initialize an UserID object in my pageflow controller class like this:
    UserID uid = new UserID("::security:user");
            String uname = uid.getUserName();I'll get an exception:
    com.bea.netuix.nf.UIControlException: com.bea.portlet.adapter.scopedcontent.ActionLookupFailedException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/bea/portal/tools/security/user/UserIDI don't know why JVM cannot found my imported class though I've already added library and imported this class to the source.

    Hi all,
    I cannot uninstall my BPC. it terminates during uninstallation,

    It seems the installation of some components was not done properly and because of that you haqve all these errors.
    You have to delete BPC folder and you have to delete also the follow registry keys:

  • Weblogic Portal 10.3 : Password Expiry Policy for DefaultAuthenticator

    Hi,
    I wan to create a Password Expiry Policy for Default Authenticator in Weblogic Portal can somebody explain me the steps.
    Password: Should be minimum 8 characters and One Capital letter and One Number minimum
    Password: Should be expired after 90 days
    Thanks in Advance,
    Viswanath K

    You cannot directly do this as far as I know.
    a. Either write your own custom authentication provider that implements these rules, or use an off the shelf LDAP that lets you specify these rules
    b. Implement this outside the authenticator (i.e. when the user specifies the password , validate these rules). When the user changes his password , record the date, when the user logs in , check the date for expiry etc,

  • Weblogic portal 9.2 (development versus staging)

    am brand new to Weblogic portal.
    I was going through 9.2 portal tutorial and came across 2 section
    a)create a portal in your development environment
    b)assembling a desktop in your staging environment
    I am confused because in both I can create portal/portlet etc....hence wondering what is the difference with "b" from "a"
    thanks
    M

    Hello Manjit,
    a> While creating a portal, developer creates a .portal file adds pages and portlets to the portal and then when runs the .portal file, it is a file based portal which is good in many ways but you cannot do personalization and entitlements to some resources like pages etc.
    b> Based on the .portal file developed by the developer in part a, a portal admin or designated admin, can create a desktop in which case it is rendered as a streaming portal. It supports personalization and entitlement to all resources like pages etc. Also you can have multiple desktops based on a single .portal file. You can add, delete modify different components on a desktop like pages, books, portlets at runtime. Also you can have multiple desktops from same.portal file which can serve different users.
    Now it depends on your requirements which approach you want to take.
    Hope it helps
    Thanks
    Vishnu

  • Debugging not working in weblogic portal

    When I am running my portal app built on weblogic portal 8.1, its throwing an error cannot start debugger. App might not be deployed properly.
    I have redeployed 2-3 times, and its running also fine, but debugger is not working.
    when the app domain starts few exceptions are thrown like,
    primary key voilated,
    jms connection pool could not connect
    Can this be the reason?

    well, from a debugging perspective, the application errors should not prevent a debugger from attaching to the VM. Can you be more specific about when you say the debugger is not starting?
    Thanks

  • Weblogic Portal 7.0 to iPlanet Authentication

    I have a lot of questions, but first, I will tell you about our problem and our
    setup. We are trying to use iPlanet as our Authentication piece for WLP 7.0,
    and we are running into problems and exceptions. First, we setup iPlanet to have
    a group called Administrators, and included in that group we have several users.
    One user, "portalmgr" is the same person who logs in into the Weblogic server
    in our portal domain. We also have a test user with a uid of "friedmana" (that's
    me, Andy Friedman). After iPlanet was setup, we tried to configure our portal
    domain through the console to use iPlanet for authentication. We tried at different
    times in the CompatibilityRealm, and then in MyRealm (setting that to the default),
    using the console to "Create new iPlanet Authenticator". We set this Authenticator
    to Required and the default Authenticator to optional, set the principal to "uid=portalmgr,ou=People,dc=gd,dc=com",
    we set the credential, we set the User Base DN, and we set the Group Base DN.
    The rest of the settings we left as default. As a side note, I think we set
    all those correctly because we did this with a regular WLS domain and it seemed
    to work ok. When we restart the server, we can login to the server, the console,
    the portal we created, and the Portal Administrative Tools with the portalmgr
    user. We can login to the console with any of our Administrator users that we
    created in iPlanet. However, in Portal App Tools, we cannot see our portal under
    Portal Management. We also cannot see any other users that we created in iPlanet
    in the Users section of Portal Admin Tools (although we got that to work with
    one of our configurations, but that gave us a bunch of other problems). When
    we try to create a new user through our portal, that user gets created (and we
    can see him in the Portal App Tool), but he cannot login. We cannot see that
    created user in iPlanet (are we supposed to be able to?). We think we are authenticating
    to some degree through iPlanet because the default access to the PortalAppTools
    (administrator/password) does not work anymore, but one of our created users (portalmgr)
    does work. And when I try our other created user (friedmana), it seems to login
    but then tells me I have a license problem. We have not written any code or modified
    the config file, but according to the way the Authenticator is configured in the
    WLS 7.0 docs, it doesn't appear that you need to.
    So here are some of my many questions:
    1) In a recent message on this newsgroup, Scott Dunbar said this "WLP 7.0 uses
    a compatibility realm only and will not work with the custom realm that you created
    for the Netscape directory server. " So is that true? Should we ignore "myRealm"
    when using a Portal domain?
    2) In that same message Scott also listed some coded to add to config.xml. Is
    this relevant to our situation? Part of the reason I ask is that Scott wrote
    this to a guy who was trying to create a custom realm and we are not. Here is
    that code: <CachingRealm BasicRealm="myRealm" CacheCaseSensitive="true" Name="wlcsCachingRealm"/>
    <CustomRealm ConfigurationData="user.filter=(&(uid=%u)(objectclass=person));
    user.dn=ou=people,dc=beasys,dc=com; server.principal=uid=dirmanager,ou=people,dc=beasys,dc=com;
    membership.filter=(&(uniquemember=%M)(objectclass=groupofuniquenames)); group.filter=(&(cn=%g)(objectclass=groupofuniquenames));
    server.host=somehost.beasys.com; group.dn=ou=groups,dc=beasys,dc=com" Name="myRealm"
    Password="your_password_here" RealmClassName="weblogic.security.ldaprealmv2.LDAPRealm"/>
    3) If this code is necessary, then can we still set up the iPlanet Authenticator
    using the console, the way we set it up for WLS 7.0?
    4) If we have to use the Compatibility Realm, does that mean we need to do any
    configuration in the "Compatibility Security" section of the console?
    5) I thought the Compatibility Realm had to do with previous versions (6.X) of
    Weblogic...why would we have to use it for Portal 7.0?
    6) Why does the Portal 7.0 documentation refer to WLS 6.1 documentation for Configuring
    the LDAP Security Realm (http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs70/dev/security.htm Configuring
    An LDAP Server for Intrgration)?
    We tried quite a few things and got some nasty stack traces that we couldn't figure
    out, but I didn't want to mention everything we tried and all of our exceptions
    unless you need it in order to help us.
    Thanks,
    Andy Friedman

    Please see answers inline.

    Answer 2) You have two choices in Weblogic 7.0 and 6.1 for Portal 4.0 or
    7.0 LDAP Realms. Either configure the LDAP V1 Realm (Deprecated) or
    create a Custom Realm for LDAP V2 Realm support. If you select LDAP V2
    Realm support you should use the entries that are found in Weblogic's
    6.1 config.xml or as specified in their documentation. There you will
    find a custom realm entry that may be used for Netscape/iPlanet. The
    LDAP V2 Realm has some enhancements that should increase communication
    performance because of added filtering capability (amoung other things).

    config.xml directly. Primarily because the configurationData parameter
    can be a tricky line to edit through the small console box. The
    parameter needs to be one long line without carraige returns and in some
    places spaces.
    4) If we have to use the Compatibility Realm, does that mean we need to do any
    configuration in the "Compatibility Security" section of the console?Answer 4) That would be the place to edit Portal LDAP Security yes.
    5) I thought the Compatibility Realm had to do with previous versions (6.X) of
    Weblogic...why would we have to use it for Portal 7.0?Answer 5) Portal 7.0 is using the same implementation of realms
    available in 6.x.
    6) Why does the Portal 7.0 documentation refer to WLS 6.1 documentation for Configuring
    the LDAP Security Realm (http://edocs.bea.com/wlp/docs70/dev/security.htm Configuring
    An LDAP Server for Intrgration)?

    We tried quite a few things and got some nasty stack traces that we couldn't figure
    out, but I didn't want to mention everything we tried and all of our exceptions
    unless you need it in order to help us.Use the CustomRealm entry from your posting. Make sure
    ConfigurationData is one long line and remove spaces.
