Corrupt text from iPad export

So, I've emailed myself the PDF of the Keynote presentation I created on my iPad. I also used iWork.com. I also transferred it via iTunes.
The problem: All of them have several pages of corrupt text whether opening in Acrobat or Preview. All I get are dots for characters. Even worse, when opening in Google docs ALL text is invisible.
Does anyone have an explanation or workaround?

My daughter is traveling from US to Spain next week.  Can she text from Ipad for free?

If her iPad is running iOS 5 with iMessage registered and enabled, she can exchange iMessages with a Mac running Lion with the new Messages BETA app for a Mac running Lion, and with other iOS devices running iOS 5 with iMessage registered and enabled. She can do this when her iPad is connected to an available wi-fi network.

  • Recover deleted text from ipad

Does anyone know ho to Recover a  deleted text from ipad

It's not possible to recover a deleted text unless the text existed on the device the last time it was backed up.
If that is the case, restore the device from the backup... where the device is backed up is irrelevant.

  • Corrputed loaded text from an Export Datasource with Unicode

    Hi Experts
I am new with BW and this forum helped me a lot in the past year.
I am loading texts to an InfoObject using a Master Data (texts) Export DataSource from another InfoObject. The system is NetWeaver 2004s (BW 3.5) with Unicode.
The InfoObject's Text MD is Language Dependent but users enter the system only with EN language.
For some reason the loaded texts are corrupted.
For example:  The original InfoObject has Hebrew texts (that were loaded perfectly from the source system which is also Unicode), but the text in the PSA table and in the text table of the target InfoObject will be: ###########
    Can anyone help?

    Hi Niraj
    Thanks for your answers
    Let me explain:
Currently, we load texts with Hebrew chars from the SAP ECC6 system and everything is good (we see Hebrew chars in SAPGUI/BEx/WAD etc.)
The problem occurs when we load these texts from one InfoObject to another, via Export DataSource.
To do that, We generated an Export DataSource for the original InfoObject and assigned it to the target InfoSource of the other InfoObject. After running an InfoPackage for this DataSource, the texts that were loaded to the PSA (and hence, to the target InfoObject texts table) were corrupted - which means that they appeared: ##########
    Thanks,

  • Backing up Texts from iPad to iPhone

I accidentally deleted all texts from one of my contacts from my iPhone. There are no recent backups in iCloud or iTunes
But because he's an iMessage contact, i have his texts on my iPad.
Is there anyway to get them onto iPhone?
iPad and iPhone both running 7.1.1. My Mac fwiw runs Mavericks.

I'm afraid of getting stuff I don't want gotten and losing stuff I don't want lost!
That would be a good solution if the texts were so paramount that I wouldn't mind facing such issues, but it's not THAT important...

  • Pages from iPad - Export issues with pdf, word

issues when exporting documents out of Pages from iPad using pdf, and getting... "Cannot extract the embedded font 'VZEENN+Georgia-Bold'. Some characters may not display or print correctly". I have 10.5.8 and Adobe latest version 9.4... I have also tried different and more universal fonts on Pages like Arial or Helvetica with no success... Really frustrating to have so critical bugs. Any work arounds from anyone? Thanks!

Yes, you can send the file as an email attachment to yourself and open it on a computer and print.
You can use DropBox to place the files on the computer to print
These are easiest if the file is saved (exported) as a PDF file so it is portable.
You can also use an AirPrint enabled printer and print directly from the iPad without going through the computer.  But buying another printer is much more expensive than the cost ($20) of Pages for the MBP.
If you already have a wireless printer, you can try the website for the manufacturer and see if there is an upgrade for the printer to enable it for AirPrint.

I also would like to find out how to delete photos from the ipad.  Everyone that is answering is talking about how to get them on and how to do stuff on the iphone.  Please stay focused if you're goign to answer.  don't be talking just to hear yourselves talk.  If you're going to answer, please just answer the question.  Apparently everyone that has answered doesn't know.  Putting the ipad usermanual is not helpful.  If we wanted to read that monster we would have.
    Wow!
I thought it might be worthwhile to put your useless piece of excrement up and let everyone enjoy it at least one more time.
Had you read "... that monster..." you might have twigged to the fact that what they are talking about is in fact how it's done and, contrary to your claim, those that answered do in fact know, and did answer the question. The fact that you don't know is understandable, the fact you're too lazy or uncaring to do anything on your own regrettable, and the fact that people are wasting time responding to you very much a one-time thing.

  • Cant send texts from ipad because I don't want it linked to my iphone

I have an ipad 3rd gen that is a personal device.  I also have an iphone 4 that is a device provided to me by my employer. i want to be able to send and receive texts from both devices, but I do not want texts from one to show up on the other and vice versa.  I have only one apple id, and would prefer to keep it that way.  How do i set this up, because I believe that my inability to do so is resulting in me not being able to send/receive texts on my ipad.

You can't do what you are attempting to do with a single AppleID.
The iPad can only send messages through iMessages - it is not able to send or receive traditional text (SMS) messages. So, even if you were to use it you could only receive messages from other Apple devices using Messages.

  • I can't send SMS text from iPad 4 w/ cellular, no option to add or turn off/on

I can no longer send SMS text with IPad 4 w/ cellular. There is no option in settings-messages to turn on SMS like on iphone5. Everything is trying to be sent iMessage which fails when sending text to non apple users. This change occurred after last iOS update.

I can confirm this for the Ipad Mini with iOS6.1
Although the cellular hardware is available - the iPad doesn't handle SMS Text messages.
For those trying to use prepaid 3G internet data simcards, not being able to send or receive text messages pretty much cripples most 3G prepaid internet simcard packages available around the world.

  • Copy paste text from pdf exported from Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ReportViewer control with Czech specific characters produced box charactex or ?.

Used Visual studio 2012. In our project there is used the Microsoft.Reporting.WinForms.ReportViewer control. In the report handled by the control are TextBoxs with a text with Czech specific characters e.g. (ř, ě, ...) . When exporting the report to pdf,
characters are displayed correctly. However when the text with czech characters in the pdf if copied and  placed into the seach box in the pdf document only box characters are displayed. The TextBox in the report use the default font Arial. When the report
is exported to Word, and then the Word document is saved as a pdf document, its ok. Coping a text with Czech charactes in the result pdf document and pasting into the search box displays again Czech characters not box characters.
Also when in the report handled by the ReportViewer control are several Tex Boxes and some of the boxes contains Czech characters and some not, after exporting to a pdf document there is problem with text selection. When in the pdf document I'm trying to
select several paragraphs, some with Czech characters and some without them, selection behaves strangely and jumps from one paragraph to another unexpectedly.

    Hi,
did you managed to avoid those squares?
BTW: if any such char. is encountered in a line, the entire line of text is grabbled.
I've tried even the ReportViewer from MSSQL 2014, but got the same problem. When I've tried IL Spy, I found a code, where it is checked if the PDFFont is composite - depending on that a glyph is created. But that still only a guess.
I've tried Telerik's reporting, they have similar problem (beside other), but not with the special characters. They produced scuares for some sequences like: ft, fi, tí.
Please give any info you got.
Until then my advices for you:
    a) try JasperReports (seems theyre most advanced, although it is java)
    b) Developer express has quiet quality reports - and it seems they got those special chars. right :D
    c) I created a ticket and waiting for Telerik's response (but if I had to choose reporting, I vould stick with a) or b)

  • Unable to text from iPad mini

Keeps saying text message not sent when I send a message from my mini iPad

Remember your iPad is not a cellular telephone.  It cannot send or receive SMS text messages.  It only sends and receives iMessages, which go to/from other Apple equipment users who are also connected by WiFi (and occasionally a cellular phone network that accepts iMessage).

  • Trouble texting from iPad

I cannot text some of my contacts ( who have I phones) from my I pad

    1. Messages on the iPad can only be sent to other iDevices
    2. The receiving party must also be registered with iMessage
Note: The two above conditions must be met.

  • Texting from ipad warning message

When sending a text message from the iPad 2, I'm getting a warning message with an exclamation point that the text cannot be sent.  I am using WiFi and not Verizon or ATT service.
    Thank you.

iMessage is not really txt messages.  They look like a text, but they are not.  You can only send to apple people that have the service turned on.   Text messages go thru your telecom provider to another phone.  The pad, of course, is not a phone, and cannot send anything on the phone network.
So what you are sending is handled by apple servers, but only goes to registered addresses.  For a pad, the registered address is an e mail address.  For an iPhone, it can be either a phone number on file w apple, or an e mail address on file with apple.
If you are sending from a pad, those are your only options.
If you are sending from an I phone, if the recipient is an iMessage person, it goes through as an I message.  If the recipient is not, but is a cell phone, the system will automatically send it as a regular text.  You may have noticed that from a phone, some of the messages are blue, and some are green,  that is the difference.  If you are sending to a pad from a phone, only the e mail address will work.
    Ok?

  • Corrupted jpegs from LR export

    Hi all,
I just finished processing my first wedding photos in LR2. After exporting the photos to jpegs I am checking them in bridge and see that roughly a little over half (about 350 photos) of my exported images were showing some random vertical and horizontal lines as if those files were corrupted. That never happened before in LR1. Has anyone here experienced the same problem?
I had to re-export these images consuming a lot of my time. I am using a Windows XP sp3, though when I exported the images I was still in sp2.
ps.: The images took literally 3 hours longer to export in LR2 than it used to in LR1.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Lisa

Yes I confirm. I first posted a problem regarding the Exporting of JPG's out of Lightroom in this thread here:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.59b63f9d/2
Following advice contained in that thread my thinking changed somewhat and I believed that the problem might have been in dpMagic - a small application that allows one to view CR2 images in Windows Explorer along with other file formats. I subsequently contacted dpMagic who asked me to forward a few problem images along with screenshots from Explorer when it crashed along with a screenshot of the Event Log. Here is the reply that I received from them this morning:
thanks you for the detailed information. We were able to reproduce the
problem. It is originated from the corrupted exif info in the jpeg image.
The next published version of the application will be resistable to such
    kind of errors.
    with the best regards
    Eugen Shashkou dpMagic DEV
It would appear after all then that Lightroom is causing corruption of Exported JPG files. I have no way of knowing in which way the EXIF data is being corrupted, and whilst dpMagic say that the next version will be 'resistable' I would much prefer Adobe to see what is causing the corrupted EXIF data in the first place.
Could one of the mods kindly post a bug regarding this matter referring Adobe to this thread if necessary. It would be appreciated - thanks.
