My previous download ofd Adobe Bridge CC (64bit) was corrupted when I experienced a computer crash. How do I download again to restore this program?

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

Corrupted Quicktime Program

I currently have a corrupted version of Quicktime that will not allow me to uninstall(something about a file missing). It will not allow me to install my itunes/quicktime program for my ipod. How can I get rid of the corrupted quicktime program?

The uninstaller for QT 6 is unvise32qt located somewhere in C:\windows\system 32. If it is missing the add\remove programs control panel will not remove QT. Then you would have to remove it manually and then go into the registry to remove QT from the add\remove control panel.
Somewhere on the web I read that there is some spyware or virus or something of the sort that is masquerading itself as unvise32qt. So when a anti spyware program is used to scan a computer it picks up on it, and quarintines or removes or whatever it does. Thinking it is the spyware rather than the QT uninstaller, therefore the trouble uninstalling QT.
You could also try windows installer cleanup utility, to see if it may help.

Help Removing Corrupted Itunes program from Windows XP

I am using a Imac computer and am also running Windows XP. My Itunes file is corruptes, and, will not work. I have tried to uninstall the program and keep getting the following message stating it cannot delete the program:
C:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple\Apple Software Update\
Has anyone run into this before? Thanks in advance for any help received.

I cannot do a system restore because of the number of changes made since the installation of the software.
I'll have a look into the registry but usually I leave it well enough alone.

Problem with corrupted Mail program

This all started because my battery is so weak at this point that if I unplug for more than a few minutes, the system just blinks off....which is exactly what happened while the Mail program was doing something important. When I rebooted, my mail program was completely corrupted.
Now it hangs while checking mail and registers up to 24 new e-mails, but shows none of them, or simply fetches the same e-mail over and over again in each folder. Then it freezes up while the progress whirlygig thing goes around and around...even if I take a mailbox off-line it seems to do this same thing.
I disabled some of the mailboxes and found that this erased the content of all my e-mails in each folder that was disabled.
Meanwhile, it will actually send mail perfectly well.
If I remember correctly, reinstalling my system software will not fix this problem, unless there's something I don't know about. (These days there are many of those things.) Is there a preferences folder I can trash or something I can do to fix my mail program, while hopefully saving my past e-mails (I can dream, can't I?)? Suggestions are most welcome.

Also, I don't run the computer without the AC. It was being moved from a desk to a table when it shut down suddenly before I could reattach the cable.
Would the mail preferences be located in the user folder? I tried getting rid of them and still had the same problem. I'm worried about tossing something global out when I shouldn't.
Finally, if you don't mind, snark never solved a problem. I'm sure you have nothing to prove and if you do, I don't need to know. I simply had a question since I am new to this operating system.

Software corrupting other programs or the OS

A question for experts:
In the context of earlier serious corruption of my iMac (now cured) unconected with this utility, here is part of a conversation wirh a Mac software company whose site states that its product is not yet fully compatible with M.Lion:
Question: "How convinced are you that if I avoid the problem area, Snapz Pro X (Movie) will not corrupt my Mac?"
Answer: "I am convinced because software does not work that way. Everything is in its own little space. Just don't install the the AmbrosiaAudioSupport kernel extension (KEXT) and you won't have a problem."
I know that the Mac's OS has for some time had a feature whereby each program lives in its own area, protected from interference from other programs. But does this mean:
That the code for every (eg., application or utility) program is protected from corruption in another program;
Or that the whole OS is protected in that way?;
Or both?
The answer I got seems rather idealistic. Is it?

If that program isn't supported, don't install it. In Mountain Lion, Apple included sandboxing, and every app works so that doesn't affect to the other applications. The kext is an extension, and a problem with that can freeze Mountain Lion or that appears a kernel panic.
Apple has got all of their apps sandboxed, the same for the App Store. You can install Lion if you need the program

Extension Manager corrupted my programs

I used Extension Manager for the first time today and downloaded about 20 extensions for Flash CS5. After installing them, I tried to open my Flash program and got an error that reads:
Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5\Flash.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
This has never happend before and it does this with every Adobe program. I have the eLearning Suite 2 and I have deleted the extensions and uninstalled/reinstalled my programs twice to no avail. What is going on? I can't use any of my programs.

I downloaded them from Adobe Exchange http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/ .
I removed the extensions from the Extension Manager and then I deleted the
downloaded files from my computer.

How can I check for corrupt files/ programs?

I have just received a call from a scammer, but before I realised it wasn't real, they logged on to my Mac (using TeamViewer) and had control for about five minutes. At best, they were just trying to hard-sell me some anti-virus protection, but I'm worried it's much worse than that.
Once I suspected something, I instantly cut the connection and shut down the Mac, but I'm worried that they may have placed some programs on my Mac to either send information/ files or just to track internet key strokes.
Apart from the obvious (speaking to my bank, etc.), is there something I can run on the Mac to see if it is clean?

The only way you can be sure that the computer is not compromised is to erase at least the startup volume and restore it to something like the status quo ante. The easiest approach is to recover your entire system from a backup that predates the attack. Obviously, that's only practical if you know when the attack took place, and it was recent, and you have such a backup. You will lose all changes to your data, such as email, that were made after the time of the snapshot. Some of those changes can be restored from a later backup.
If you don't know when the attack happened, or if it was too long ago for a complete rollback to be feasible, then you should erase and install OS X. If you don't already have at least two complete, independent backups of your data, then you must make them first. One backup is not enough to be safe.
When you reboot after the installation, you'll be prompted to go through the initial setup process for a new computer. That’s when you transfer the data from one of your backups in Setup Assistant.
Select only users in the Setup Assistant dialog — not Applications, Other files and folders, or Computer & Network Settings. Don't transfer the Guest account, if it was enabled.
Reinstall your third-party software from original media or fresh downloads — not from a backup, which may be contaminated.
Unless you were the target of an improbably sophisticated attack, this procedure will leave you with a clean system. If you have reason to think that you were the target of a sophisticated attack, then you need expert help.
That being done, change all Internet passwords and check all financial accounts for unauthorized transactions. Do this after your system has been secured, not before.

Computer crashed while Firefox was updating and corrupted the program so it won't open at all and I can't get my many bookmarks

I have had recurrent problems with my computer crashing for the past several months that I was not able to fix. I was downloading and installing updates for Firefox when the computer suddenly and completely crashed - just an immediate shutdown. When I was able to reboot it, Firefox would no longer open, and I got the following error message, along with the 'bong' sound or an error: C:\ProgramFiles\MozillaFirefox\js3250.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error...." The crash in the middle of the download corrupted Firefox so that it could no longer be accessed. HOW CAN I RECOVER MY FEW HUNDRED IMPORTANT BOOKMARKS? Do you have a PowerPC processor or an Intel processor?
Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and a Mac with an Intel processor.

Is Adobe Bridge programing open enough for outside code to be written to customize the categories in the Filter pane, the options shown in the Criteria drop downs in Smart Collections, and the column headers in the Detail and List views?
I have about thirty categories of internal company data associated with product images (i.e. sales figures, model number, product descriptions, etc.) that I would like to utilize with the search and origination features of Bridge. Is it possible, yes or no?

Adobe Bridge in CS4

My Adobe Bridge in CS4 stopped working. Is there a way I can repair just the Bridge program without uninstalling the whole suite. I have tried uninstalling the whole CS4 but I get messages that programs are running and need to stop running before I can uninstall and I can not find how to stop those programs. Thanks. Scruffyy

Bridge CS3 error message

When I downloaded my CS3 on my new iMac I am now unable to open the Bridge program all other programs are fine but every time I open the Bridge there is an unexpectedly closed message there is an error message but I can see it because the closed messsage comes up so fast. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program but the same thing happens.
CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME I HAVE SO MUCH INFORMATION IN THAT PROGRAM??

Did you move any files after the install? Whether you did or not computer thinks you did.
Best bet is to uninstall, run Adobe Script Cleaner, then reinstall. The script cleaner will delete any bits and pieces missed by uninstall.

Epson Scanner program won't open

Hi all,
This is the one time out of many I have had problems with my Epson Perfection 4490 Photo scanner. Whenever I use any of the four buttons on the from (Scan, Print, Email, or Scan as PDF), the EScanAssist program opens, then the EPSON Scan program opens. However, the window for scanning doesn't open, and when I right-click the program, I find it is no longer responding.
I've read about clearing out old files that corrupted the program or something similar, and did this about two or three months ago. Will I need to redo this procedure, or is there a more common, permanent fix I can do? I'm willing to try anything at this point, so any help is appreicated. If you need more information, please just ask!

I just used this article from before, and I was able to scan again. I ran Software Updater, and it said everything was good, so I guess I never updated my drivers.
Is there a permanent fix to this? If there is, please let me know, as I would appreciate having to not do this again. Thanks!
