Corrupted download with Firefox v. 7

I sell software which can be downloaded after purchase. The download is initiated via a cgi script, and has been working flawlessly for years.
Now, people using Foxfire v. 7.0 are reporting they're unable to download the file, getting a message that the download is corrupted ("Corrupted Content Error. The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because an error in the data transmission was detected."). There is no trouble downloading with Internet Explorer or an earlier version of Firefox.
I have tried it myself and get the same error.

Adobe provides a stanalone updater. I scared up these links from other forum threads.

Is there a way to "Save As" when downloading with Firefox?

I want to be able to "Save As" when downloading with Firefox. The only options I am given is to Save or Open. All the previous questions I have seen deal with being able to save to a certain location, and that I can easily set in Firefox. What I want is to be able to change the filename, so if it goes to download "abc123.pdf" I can rename it to "123abc.pdf" when it downloads.
We use a web based application that I have to pull down pdf charts multiple times every day, but the problem is when you go to download a chart, every one is the same name. I can't just save it to the default directory since it will overwrite the previous one or just append a (1) or something. What I have to do now is use the Open option and have a pdf reader open it, then save from the pdf reader giving it a unique filename, which is extra steps that I do not have to do when using IE, Opera, etc. since I can do a Save As from those and rename it before it downloads.

Browsing while downloading with firefox in background will show download status every 10-15 second in foreground on WinXP, can this be fixed as it is anoying?

Whenever I've had issues with FF after an update, it is normally an Add-On that is not playing nice.
My most recent problem was Firefox not responding right at launch.
I created a new profile and it worked right away.

Why can I not print out a pdf-file (train ticket NS) when downloaded with Firefox? (file says (SECURED)

When ordering and paying a train ticket by internet they send a pdf-file, which one must download and print. When downloading this with Firefox (from my e-mail account) the pdf-file says (SECURED) and I cannot print out the ticket (pdf-file). (Adobe program stops automatically).
When downloading this same pdf-file in Safari, I encounter no problems.

Current Firefox versions have enabled a built-in PDF Viewer that doesn't have all features that other PDF readers like the Adobe Reader have or may not function properly otherwise.
You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use the Adobe Reader application or set to "Always Ask" in "Firefox > Preferences > Applications".

I can't see images or icons in firefox or emails downloaded with firefox. What do I do to fix this? Thank you.

In particular, I can't see the up and down arrows that enable me to move from one email to another in gmail. There are many other problems: I can see NO icons and I can see NO images in my emails, whether it be hotmail, gmail, etc. when I use firefox. I read loaded firefox and got the same result. The Yahoo! Toolbar and the Babylon extension have been reported to cause that problem. They seem to invisibly extend downward over the top of the web page display area. Disable or uninstall those add-ons.

Cannot download CoolIris. There am some other sites that I cannot download with Firefox but can with chrome.

I cannot download from CoolIris. In the past I've been able to mouse over the picture and CoolIris worked immediately. When I did this today it brought me to the CoolIris website and said I needed to download an update. I tried that four times and Firefox did not show the download taking place. This has happened recently with other sites I wanted to download from using Firefox. However, those same sites can be downloaded easily using chrome.

I originally told a site to download with FireFox but after seeing it was opening over 2o0 tabs (it's my homework site) I decided I wanted to change the download location to Documents. How do I change the download location?

I went to www.labyrinthelab.com/oe10. This is my homework site. I clicked on download student exercise files and it asked if I wanted to open with Explorer. I said no Firefox. But it opens right around 200 files. I'm not sure of the exact amount because I stopped the download at 165.
I decided that was ridiculous and that it should download and save to my documents. I don't know how to change this.

Reader 9.2.0 Problem Downloading with Firefox and Vista

After upgrading my adobe reader to 9.2.0 I have been unable to download the weekly pdf report from my US News and World Report site which worked fine before the upgrade. I am using Firefox on a home VISTA premium platform. Strangely, I can download using internet explorer 8 on the computer. I have been unable to resolve on the Firefox help forum. Thanks!

By chance I've found a workaround.
I noticed that the same bug occurred in Reader 8, so used the workaround recommended for that release.
I assigned a local printer as the default Windows printer. Reader then allows me to print so I can choose which printer (remote) on which to print.
However, it's poor that Adobe haven't yet fixed in Reader 9.0 a bug that was reported in Reader 8.

No matter what I download with FireFox - cannot run the program - am using windows xp (sp3) every file I download - and save to desktop is empty!!!!

I have been having so many problems with XP and Internet Explorer - which I have not been able
to access in the last 6 weeks or more - but my question is - no matter what I download and to desktop
the program does not run - it displays as having nothing in the file

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

When you try to open the file, what message do you see?
Check the size, compare it to the online source.
Was there any problem during the download?
