Corrupted downloads?

this is gonna sound strange so i will try and explain it as plainly as possible. I downloaded 2 episodes of a peppa pig series for my daughter some time ago and decided recently to purchase the rest of the series on my ipad. after downloading the 2 episodes and the other 11 i just downloaded appeared in what i can only describe as two seperate files on my iPad. after looking at the info on the episodes the 2 in one file were slightly differently written then the other 11 so i adjusted the info as i have before so they would all appear under one heading. which i got but twice over so 13 episodes twice over and not only that but episodes from another tv series have disappeared completly even though according to my iTunes says they should be synced. all this seems to have happened since the 10.6.3 iTunes update. is another else having problems with there iTunes since the update does any of this make sense to anyone and if so is there anything that can be done.

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen of the iTunes app on your iOS device.
If the problem re-occurs, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History using your computer.

  • IOS 5 Corrupted Download Error

    Hey,
I have an iPod touch 4G running IOS 4.3.5 and everytime I try to download IOS 5. It shows a download of 1.1MB, 0.84KB, 3.2MB or so and once that download is complete it says "corrupted download".
I have tried restoring my iPod, Restarting my computer, deleting software update folder, connecting to different USB port and downgrading and trying to upgrade again, but to no avail.
I think the iPod Touch 4g IOS 5 file in apple server is corrupted cause i tried to download it from a direct link. Still it downloaded only 1MB. I am not sure what the problem is though. That is why i put up this discussion. Does anyone have suggestions, please help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you for the reply!!!
but i have a dongle connection, and i have tried disconnecting and reconnecting. but it is not working. Glad to hear that your iPod went through the process smoothly.
Can you do me a favour, and click this link and say whether the download size is 1MB or something like that??? This is a direct link to the IOS provided by apple : http://appldnld.apple.com/iPhone4/061-9622.20111012.Evry3/iPod4,1_5.0_9A334_Rest ore.ipsw
It will help me identify whether its a error in my network connection or computer.
Will appreciate it very much if you could do this for me and post the reply. Thanks a lot!!!

  • Parallels Desktop v3.0 corrupts downloads on Mac Pro but not on MacBook Pro

Parallels Desktop for Mac version 3.0 is corrupting downloads and updates on my Mac Pro, but not on my MacBook Pro. Symptoms include the message "The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by “Apple” when downloading a software update. Downloading a dmg software package fails at the end of the download with a "Verification failed" message. Trying to mount the package manually fails with codec overrun error. These are symptoms of a corrupted download.
The problem disappears when I uninstall Parallels. It reappears if I reinstall Parallels. My Mac Pro and MacBook Pro are nearly identical in installed software. I have reviewed the problem with AppleCare in excruciating detail (an hour yesterday and another hour today with an AppleCare Specialist). It is a new issue to them. We have send a support request email to Parallels.com.
This has been a difficult problem to troubleshoot. I had tried every suggestion that I could find on the forum under "Digital Signature is incorrect", "Verification failed", "codec overrun", etc., without success. I won't go into the painful details of the troubleshooting process, unless encouraged. But I will update the forum when I know more. Meanwhile, if you have any ideas please pass them on.

The problem has been solved by replacing the Linksys WRT54G Wireless-G Router with an Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11n Wireless Base Station. After completing the installation I was able to successfully download my test .dmg files on the both the Mac Pro and the MacBook Pro with Parallels 3.0 installed.
Before I had made this change I had worked with a Parallels tech support expert. (By the way, they were very responsive.) We had tried a number of things without success, including disconnecting and restarting the cable modem and router.
I don't know why this change in routers worked. It couldn't be related the WEP encryption on the Linksys versus the WPA2 security on the Airport Extreme because the problem was not with the wireless connection to the MacBook Pro. The problem was with the Mac Pro, which was connected via an ethernet cable, in both cases.
I am now happy, but confused.

  • Safari corrupting downloads?

First off, a bit of background: I had to do an erase and install about 2-3 weeks ago, so this is a fresh, up-to-date installation of Snow Leopard we're dealing with.
That said, I decided recently to branch out from simply programming PHP in a text editor and explore some of the other technologies I keep hearing about, and picked up Drupal, Joomla, and the Zend Framework from their respective official sites. Latest complete, stable builds for all 3.
Drupal and Joomla downloaded without a problem, but when I put them in my /~username/Sites folder, XAMPP pretends they're not there, even if I restart Apache or the laptop itself. Zend's archive won't open at all.
Is Safari corrupting the downloads, or are there other issues in play that can be investigated?

Safari doesn't corrupt downloads; it just downloads whatever is on the server and has no affect on whatever that might be. If the Zend .dmg file won't open, then either it was corrupt when you downloaded it, or there's some other problem.
If something isn't working for you, I'd say maybe the downloaded and installed item may not be compatible with Mac OS X (or your version of Mac OS X), it may have been compiled incorrectly; the version of Apache that you're running isn't compatible; basically, any number of things could be the problem.
Have you tried the Apache web forums, or those for Drupal, Joomla, and Zend to see if they have an answer to your specific problems?

  • Corrupted downloads after upgrading to 7.5.2

Got the capsule connected to internet and configured as N with wide channels, also have a express extending the wifi network.
All was fine until I upgrade to 7.5.2 (both) ....... (took me some time to realize) .... but it seems that i was getting corrupted downloads(mac updates) on both the wired connected imac and the mbp.
The problems disappeared when i downgraded to the 7.4.2 release.
Now apple is putting both devices yellow as i didn't upgrade? was is going on? when will the issues be fixed?

Updating to iTunes 7.7 and OSX 10.5.4 has fixed the problem. Why I don't know.

  • Download error in (osx) adobe desktop app (corrupted download link).

Here is a discription of the problem. Please consider that some of the wording might not be correct, as I do have to translate the error message from German into English.
Using OSX 10.9.2, when clicking inside the adobe desktop app (top of the screen bar) on the tap "apps", the following screen (screenshot) appears, which states, translated from top to bottom:
    download error
    download error. Please contact support.
    (link) contact support
(link/button) download creative cloud -> This button unfortunatly leads to the following error page "http://www.adobe.com/special/errorpages/404.html"
All apps, like Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. are installed and work just fine. So no problem here. I seem however unable to redownload the desktop app (in order to reinstall). As stated above the provided link inside the desktop app itself is coruppted and within the (online) web-based download centre (user logged in) I am only adviced to use the desktop app. This is a dead end and I do not know what to make of this error, let alone solving it. Please help!

I am sorry Romsinha but this doesn't really help.
I already restarted the desktop app and while I am obviously online and connected the problem (error message) remains the same. Information within the "home" tap is recieved/loaded  (little blue spinning wheel) stating that various apps recently have been updated. Yet the same loading wheel within the "apps" tap results in an error. My best guess is that some internal link within the app is corrupted, leading to a source on a server that can not be reached.
    UPDATE
I clean uninstalled adobe creative cloud as discribed in the article you provided (using the cleaner tool) and even uninstalled the browser plugin. After downloading and reinstalling creative cloud the problem however remains the same. "Apps" tap still shows the same problem. "Home" tap now displays the following:

  • And here we go again with corrupt download files unable to expand

There seems to be a pattern with major updates from Apple and the ability of the servers providing the content - be it iTunes or iOS or Mac OS updates - I have been unale to download sucessfully the larger updates but smaller (22MB for AirPOrt Utility) work fine.
The annoying thing is that in almost all cases the erorr dosen't occur until AFTER the download is complete - meaning it takes up allt he time and bandwidth etc with no result and you have to start all over again.
This has happened to enoguh people and with enough different software releases that I posit that it is NOT the result of any partiucalr configuration of netwokring and or hardware and or firmware and or OS version etc - but that the it is a systemic issue on the provider side of things.
Perhaps they (Apple's content providers) should stagger access or something - by time zone - or Apple should release updates over the course of a week - not all on the same day.
I would much rather get a message that the server is busy try agian later - or have one update a day - and have it work on the first try - that to waste time retrying the same downloads over and over again.

While it is entirely possible taht some combination of DOCIS or firmware etc on the user end is a contirbuting facotr - it is not hard to find numerous reports of exactly what I am talking about along with other similar issues.
I don't recall having this issue before I upgraded to 50Mbps download service - so there could be a connection there. But the "solution" in my case so far has been to just simply keep trying and eventually it works just fine.
I suppose I may have forggotten as they are so few and far between - but in my recollection - the ONLY issues I have had have been with software from Apple - whether downloaded via software update - or the App store - or iTunes - and no where else - on both Mac and Windows (had Apple Software Update fail to get iTunes update a couple times on Windows, but windows is easy to goof up if you have other installers running at the same time).
On the other hand I don't recall too many cases in the past where the downloads were so large as they are nowadays - and certainly the number of users after those downloads has only increased over time.

It would be better if companies like Oracle & IBM who offer large files for download come up with a download utility which can take care of such problems. This can save good amount of network traffic and also wastage of electricity and emission of co2 in to atmosphere.

  • Corrupted Download Files?

Hello, I'm currently using a DHCP setup with a Router and 3 AirPort cards. Recently, I decided to switch from a Linksys to a Netgear router, but since I did i've been noticing images occasionally being garbled up on web pages, or text showing up as gibberish. Whats more troubling is that when I go to download a .zip, .dmg or .tar file, they show up as corrupted. Some of them download just fine, but the ones that don't are corrupted despite the machine or router. I've tried clearing the cache for each browser that I test the downloads on, but that doesn't seem to work. I've also tried hooking up my older router and downloading the files using that, but I get the same results. Anyone know what I can do to fix this? For the record, the 3 computers on my network are a G4 Laptop, a G5 iMac and a G5 Quad Core PowerMac, all running 10.4.7. The most recent download that has given me this issue is StuffIt 10.2. Thanks in advance!

Sorry - should have mentioned what program I was using.
Using Safari - r-click and saving the target of links, one after the other. A download pane pops up with some of the files downloading, others queued.
I was downloading from my university course website - basically a bunch of lecture notes. Granted, it's not often you see pages with multiple pdfs.

    They don't answer.
Personally, we just bought our first Ipod (MA0079LL)we love it. But....
With response like this from Apple, and everybody having this pboblem lately: ***? you know our 3 other mp3 players didn't sound too bad anyway...
Hey Apple Core people.... listen up!!!!!!
I see why your sales were off. Your customer service is no better now than it was when I bought my IIE 25 years ago.
I don't want to get rid of it, I want this issue to go away, be able to use my ipod, and get the songs I paid for.
    Is that asking too much?

This looks like a server-side issue, nothing to do with the client. I have seen other posts where others are reporting the same, across multiple machines. I've spent time with support on this, with no success. I've wiped CC clean off my machine, and it still blows up.

What kind of network are you on?  Home network or corporate?  Sometimes corporate network can have proxy servers or other things that could corrupt the downloads.
Others here have noted they have issues if their system is set to something other than English.  What language is your system set to?  Off chance on this one but I seem to recall seeing something so I figured it woudln't hurt to mention.
