Corrupted Files in PS CS6

While working in Photoshop CS6, large rectangular blocks of missing and/or distorted pixels suddenly appear. They affect all layers, effectively ruining the entire file. I closed the file without saving, thinking that when I quit Photoshop and reopen the file, it will preserve the last saved version (pre-corruption), but this is not so. For some reason, the corruption affects even the previously saved version of the file. In other words, I have to be always holding my breath using Photoshop, for fear that my work may suddenly be destroyed.
Why is this happening, and how can I fix it?

Yes, I can zoom in on them, and they are consistent. Do you suspect this indicates a hardware issue, such as bad RAM or a failing hard drive? Not sure if it's relevant, but Photoshop is the only application that gives me any problem; Adobe Premiere works just fine. Not that that means it's not a hardware problem.

White Wall - Photoshop CS6 corrupted files won't zoom

So my Photoshop CS6 is slowly corrupting files. I open psds to find nothing but a giant whit wall. I zoom out and the white disappears but then I can't zoom in any further than 50%. My rulers however, show that I'm zooming in. Then when I select another layer... it snaps to % I should be looking at. (Also... this particular file won't give me a preview in the icon on my desktop. Related?) This is not happening with all my files. Just the ones surrounding this particular project. Please. Help. Me.

Welcome to the forum.
With display issues, the first thing that I recommend is to check the installed video driver, and if it is not the latest, update that from the mfgr's Web site.
What OS are you running?
What video card (make & model) is installed?
What is the video driver version?
Is that the latest on the AMD/ATI, or nVidia Web site?
Good luck, and if that does not help, at least we will have gotten that out of the way early.

Illustrator CS6 Corrupts Files

Hello Support,
Can anyone tell me anyone is experiencing an issue saving a file
to Windows server and getting a corrupt file?
We are also getting messages on the file saying resources are not avilable.
We might note we just upgraded to CS6 illustrator

Cannot open my NEF files in Photoshop CS6 from my new Nikon D800 camera.

That's it, I Cannot open my NEF files in Photoshop CS6 Camera Raw from my new Nikon D800 camera. What am I doing wrong or what is wrong? I have the plug-in Camera Raw 7. and can open TIFF files but not the NEF files.

to explain the scenario, i am basically a D7000 user and I do post production with Windows computer. But for an assignment I have hired D800, they have provided me their SD memory card. I have used the same memory card while shooting.
I have transferred the NEF files from the camera using Nikon software. The transfer was successful but i am not able to open the Raw NEF file with ACR. Even my plugins are updated till date.
The NEF thumbnails are having small lock logo in the bottom left corner. I do not know what does that mean. Like this.
Kindly let me know what would be the prob? if my RAW files are corrupted kindly let me know how will I recover them?

Cs6 Bridge will not open files in Photoshop cs6, get error message pasted below

I installed Photoshop CS6 Upgrade (64bit and 32Bit) to my PC which ran CS5 Extended. When I deleted CS5, Bridge
stopped opening files, whether I double clicked on the file or did Open with: I get the same error message.

By uninstalling CS5 you have corrupted file associations. THey want to open in CS5 now and it is not on machine.
You can either unistall CS6, do a script cleaner, and reinstall.
Or you can change an entry in the registry. Here is instructions from a previous post.
I installed Photoshop CS6, then found CS5 was still there. I thought, hey, I don't need CS5 anymore, so I uninstalled CS5. then I found out that Photoshop was no longer available in 'Open with' when right-clicking an image...
So I went into the Registry, HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command, and changed the (Default) from "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe" "%1" (so changed CS5 to CS6) - and now I see 'Adobe Photoshop CS6' in my 'Open with' list when right-clicking an image...

Bridge Problem opening files in Photoshop CS6

CS6 Bridge appears to work fine, however when I try to open a file into Photoshop CS6 I get a flag saying it cannot find Photoshop CS4? Any ideas?

For your info, and others, this does not work in situations were the file associations become corrupted by uninstalling a previous version. The mechanism for corruption is not quite clear to Adobe, but somehow the registry for file associations gets reset to the version that was deleted. Therefore one needs to wipe files with the Adobe Script Cleaner or go in and change the registry.

Browse to the folder in Bridge, then right-click Open in Camera Raw, then in ACR, Open.
Or if you’re already in Photoshop: File or Photoshop if on a Mac / Open / browse to the file / Open.
If you get an error that the format is not supported then either the camera is too new or you’ve used an obsolete version of Nikon products like Transfer or ViewNX to copy or view the NEFs and they are corrupted.
Help / Updates is how you get the latest version of the Camera Raw plug-in.

Fixing Corrupted Files

I installed Photoshop CS6 on Windows 8.1 64 bit and some of my image files are now corrupted. Is there an software update that will fix this problem? Or is there another way?

By image file, I mean jpg, bitmap, etc... When I attempt to open them, I get an error message that reads "Could not complete request because an unknown or invalid JPEG marker type is found.".
The bitmap files that do open exhibits thick and thin black lines over the image from end to end. Then there are the ones that only show a part of the image. Do you know what is the cause of the corrupted files? How do I repair them?

Photoshop Corrupting Files When Rendering Gradients

Hello there, I'm a first time poster, with a long time problem.
My Photoshop is corrupting files in a very destructive fashion, and it seems to be tied to the live rendering of gradients. Not just blur filters, as in this thread (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/751036?start=200&tstart=0) but opacity adjustments in layers, and hue/brightness shifts. This happens usually in files with large dimensions, but not necessarily complicated layer structures.
This type of corruption, which renders blocks, tesselated shapes, or inverts/fills odd layers, seems to be a problem for multiple users, but I haven't seen a solution.
I think I may be the first person to link it directly to the live rendering of gradients- rather than just the blur filters. Anything that has to render a gradated shift across the image seems to be the culprit. Usualy starting as a solid, and ending as a transparent. However, simply adjust hue/brightness over an opaque layer will make the corruption happen as well. Which leads me to believe that this corruption is caused by live on screen rendering of gradient shifts.
Does anyone have any further thoughts or potential solutions?

I do not understand what you writing in either append. Please post some screen capture that show us the problems your having. Its hard to be the first person to do anything . Your most likely not the first one.

Fixing a corrupted file

I seem to have a corrupted file. It takes 4 or 5 seconds for anything to appear when you try to type anything in and the panels take 5 or 6 seconds to appear when you change a tool. I've been working in other documents with no problem, it is just this one book.
I've tried exporting it out to an IDML file and reopening it, but it doesn't help.
Next I tried exporting it out to an ID Tagged Text file and placing that with the Shift key to autoflow it in and that seemed to work as far as the typing problem, but none of the graphic links imported and this is a 6 chapter book with hundreds of graphics!
Is there another way to import the content with the links into a new document that I am missing? (or a way to fix the original file?)

Usually these sort of errors come down to one swatch or a element in the document. Now it might be just as simple as creating a new book and adding back the document. Or as difficult as a corupt text frame or font in the document.
For your question about movung content you could try just moving pages from one document to another new document abd checking if that helps.

Error message when saving a file in DW -CS6

When I go to save a file in Dreamweaver CS6, using Windows 7 -
I get this error message.
"While Executing onLoad in bc_afterSave.htm, the follwing javascript errors occured"
In File "bc_aftersave.htm";
onload is not defined
Everything was fine for years now I get this annoying error message. The file saves but the error message always pops up.
I am using the Adobe Application Manager and getting my software through the Adobe Cloud.
I tried deleting the configuration file with th expectation that DW would automatically create a new one but that did not work.
I'd hate to have to unintsall and reinstall DW because I have dozens of sites that I would need to resetup
Any help on this??

bc_aftersave.htm is a file that lies within Dreamweaver's Configuration Commands. Usually is required when working with Business Catalyst.
The error you see may be caused due to a faulty file.
I'm attaching the file at fault - 'bc_aftersave.htm' in this thread. Download and restore it to the following folder:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Dreamweaver CS6\<language>\Configuration\Commands
Locate the file bc_aftersave.htm, replace that file with the one I'm attaching here to see if it solves the issue.

Computer shuts on and off some corrupted files - no virues now

Listed below are some of the errors I found on event log in the laptop:
I have a Qosimo 8 megs of memory, windows 7 64 bit. Running AVAST 7.0 antivirus and Malwarebytes - both paid subscriptions. I think the model number is 830 530 I bought in 2009.
The shutdown problem has
been happening on and off for the last six months. I had two major instances of trojans taking over my machine and it caused constant shutdowns. AVAST worked with me on one and they had me use malwarebytes and spybot and hijack this. They took over my computer to get it up and running properly, but this new round of errors a trojan was found in the registry key and the startuptoolbar. Two nights ago I had another shut down several times and after running malwarebytes and antivirus I could find no errors so I’m leaning toward corrupted files? Is there anyway to fix these files without having to reformat the hard drive?
I did run a computer repair and a computer memory repair tonight using F8 and no problems were found by the computer. I’m not sure what to do with these errors in event viewer.. I get the toshiba error
quite often and it madely stops me from going online with my internet connection, and I had downloaded a newer version but same problem – I use windows repair in network and the error is always resetting the toshiba network IP. I just put a note into toshiba on that problem.
I also use microsoft silverlight for my fenderfuse application which needs that software operate properly. I’m not sure exactly what to do with that Custom dynamic link libraries are being loaded for every application. It states to check libraries – but what am I checking for? I do not have a lot of programs on the laptop but not sure what to look for in library?

Sometimes my computer shuts down often on its own and I find a Trojan - other times it shuts down often during a start up and I find no viruses as was the case yesterday. Today I did not get on the internet and the computer worked fine.
I guess I need to know if there is a way to reinstall the corrupted files without having to go back to the default settings when I got the computer. Does toshiba have a windows repair disc that works better then what I did with using F8 and having a system repair and memory check done that found no errors? I also installed the latest Toshiba service station and it did not fix the error problems in events log. Malwarebytes said that by looking at these event viewer logs that it does not appear that I have a virus now but I do have corrupted files and can toshiba help me in getting them fixed. I really hate to do a complete reformat.

I noticed that software protection stopped and then it showed software protection working. I did not get any critical stop errors like I did before but that is because I don’t have any Trojans or viruses. I ran a full scan with both Avast and Malwarebytes yesterday and no problems.

I don't know how serious this probems are - I didn't like seeing the software security being stopped. But then it started up. I have copied everything personal on this laptop so I am ready to reformat if needed.
I still have the problem about IE not opening links unless I right button click to open it. I also had to make a separate ID to run Fender Fuse software as this computer was not recognizing the USB slot where I connect the amp to the laptop. Fender had me set up another id with minimum items and then I was able to connect to the amp and make changes.

How do I save an install file for Photoshop CS6

I need to get an install file for Photoshop CS6 (not CR) that I can use on a Windows PC that, due to security reasons, does
not have access to the internet. In the past I have been able to save the install file for Photoshop and/or Lightroom on my internet connected PC and then move it to the the target PC on a thumb drive or CD. But now with the CC and the new "Adobe Installer" I can't seem to see how to capture the install file.
Please let me know how to do this.

Ok! so i tried updating my ipad 2 software to I.O.S 6.1 and it failed then continued to shut down and put the plug into itunes logo on my screen! I then i have been trying to update and restore my Ipad 2, then it says corrupt file and stops any advice?

This is ridiculous!!!!! Apple Corporation needs to fix what ever went wrong with IOS 6.1 update and they better do it soon or theyre going to have a mob on their hands!! i have been continuosly restoring and updating my iPad 2 and it always says corrupt file then restarts the whole process! im going out of my mind and im about to say to **** with it and call apple themselves and make so many complaints that theyll fix it within the hour or i will go to new york city at the head of the corporation and make the most skeptical and most embarrissing seen that they will end up ashamed to even be working for a company with the supposedly "SMARTEST AND BRIGHTEST TECHNOLOGICAL PEOPLE IN THE U.S." who cant even get a software update correct so that it doesnt make some of our lives harder then they need to be! and if its already known to be corrupt then should take it off the whatever update liost and fix it before anyone else has to go what ive gone through, cause its pure torcher!! i paid good money for a product for easy use whenever and thats not what im getting when they cant even make a simple update thats supposed to help but only makes my product worse and make me wanna never buy from them again!
