Corrupted Podcast (Kevin & Bean)

My girlfriend has an iPod Touch which recently has had an issue playing one specific podcast (KROQ Kevin and Bean). The podcast sounds all garbled and is not listenable at all.
I would say it's an issue with the podcast feed, but my iPhone plays it perfectly. I've tried to re-subscribe to the podcast, but no luck. It's only that podcast, and it's only on her iPod touch. Anybody hear of anything like that?
The podcast is daily, and the past week, each day has had the same issue, while mine is playing fine.
Her computer is a MacBook running Mac OS X 10.4.X (most recent version).

OK, I'll give it a go. You should try again: perhaps a couple of times. It may be that (A) network settings at your end are awry; or (B) settings at their end are broken. Have you contacted the podcast provider?
You may want to try and delete the podcast and try re-subscribing: if you are worried about losing those you already have, test this in a second account (you do have a second account?). Sometimes these podcasts misbehave, then a few days later reappear.

  • How do I delete a corrupted podcast?

2nd generation iPod Touch. Has had lots of issues since purchase.
Touch froze playing a podcast, restarted itself, and now the podcast won't play and can't be deleted (and I can't sync the iPod). You can't draw your finger across the podcast & delete it. In the Listening menu instead of displaying "NPR Sunday Puzzle" it displays "Unknown (2 episodes)". When I tap on that, instead of displaying the podcasts to choose from it says "No Music".
I deleted the podcasts from iTunes and tried to sync but that didn't help.
If I had an up to date back-up I'd restore it like I've done TOO many times before, but I haven't been able to get the iPod to sync since then, even after following Support's instructions to deselect each category (Photos, Music, Info, etc.) and re-sync until you get a good sync.
iTunes and iPod software are up to date.
Any ideas before I throw it out the window?

Thank you. I was operating under the impression that in order to have a back-up I would need a successful sync, which I hadn't been able to do since the corrupted podcast situation. When I poked around looking for the Back-up feature you mentioned (and hadn't known that it existed independently of the sync feature) I surprisingly found a current back-up in iTunes Preferences Devices. So I resynced deselecting the podcasts (thereby removing them from the iPod despite getting the same Error 13019), restored the iPod and am good to go. That is, until the next time.

  • Why do my podcasts keep disappearing from iTunes?

So I subscribe to a few podcasts, and I've noticed that since the update only the 10 most recent episodes are staying on my computer. The old episodes are still available in my iCloud but I have to waste internet redownloading them, and even when I do that they still seem to disappear. Any idea on how to stop iCloud from messing with my podcasts, or even better turn it off from iTunes entirely?

Same problem. I am a daily Podcasts listener, and podcasts that worked the day before will literally not work the next day.  All the podcasts on my iphone will suddenly be broken. This keeps happening to me, and it's most glaring when I try to resume listening to an episode I listened to half of on the previous day. I suddenly get the error message:
Episode Unavailable: "This episode is temporarily unavailable from [Podcast name]
This started when I got the new Iphone 5s (iOS7) and was forced to switch to using the Podcasts app outside of the Music app.  And now it's happening constantly to my regular podcasts. The listened to status is also sometimes wrong. Podcasts I've already listened to, and in some cases deleted, will show up again as fresh downloads.
I have to remove the corrupted podcasts one by one and download them again manually.
RIDICULOUS and UNUSABLE. This Podcasts app does not work.

  • Why do my podcasts keep disappearing after I download them to my computer.

Since updating iTunes to the newest version, I have been having problems with my podcasts.  Specifically, my episodes keep disappearing.  The first time I figured it was a fluke, but it happened again and again.  Every time I close iTunes and open it again, the podcasts have disappeared even though I have all my podcasts set up to keep all episodes.  The episodes are all still listed, but there is a little cloud with an arrow inside pointing down next to each one.  There are a handful of random episodes that are still there (without the cloud and arrow icon).  I searched for the files in my computer's music folder and even the files are suddenly missing and I know they used to be there.  I don't know why this keeps happening.  Is anyone else having this problem and how can I stop it from happening?

  • HT1689 Why do my podcasts keep disappearing?

I download the podcasts and then when I go to play them it says they are temporarily unavailable.
I "Remove Podcast" and download it again and I can listen.
Five minutes later it says temporarily unavailable again.
I wish Apple would get what they've done figured out before they go spooling out new untested features that work like a Microsoft computer. ie not at all.
I left Microsoft because of this.
I think it might be time to go back.
    Same performance.
    WAY cheaper.

  • Mysterious podcasts are syncing from March

I was syncing as normal but my iPhone 3g now displays old podcasts from March. They do not show up on my iTunes page and I have deleted them from my phone manually but everytime I sync they come back. Any idea on how to get rid of them?

They are under the podcast section. But when you go to play them 1 of 2 things happens. If I click on the 3/12 baseball podcast (phantom) for example, it will start to play but it is actually playing a legit June podcast and then the date changes from 3/12 to 6/26 in seconds.
Another bad podcast brings up a message saying "this movie could not be played" I think the difference is that this podcast is alone while the baseball podcasts have a legit one on the list to play.
It's weird b/c all of the podcasts are from early March and we are talking like 10-12 corrupt podcasts that keep appearing.

  • Podcasts not sycing

Hi, I just upgraded to Itunes 10, and now my podcasts aren't syncing with my ipod anymore. Itunes is set to sync all unplayed episodes, and I have like 160 unplayed ones in my podcast folder, but they will not transfer to my ipod no matter what I do.
Anyone have any suggestions? It's an 80 gig video ipod, if that makes any difference, and it worked flawlessly right up until I "upgraded" to itunes 10...

Go to Settings>General>Usage>Music. You can swipe right to left and delete the corrupted podcasts there.
Worked fine to me. But somethings on internet waste time, you have to be patient to find what you need. About five days to get the right solution.

  • Made an error while changing the URL of the feed. Feed now unavailable

    Heya all
I have a Podcast which is as well in the iTunes Store. When I upgraded my software the URL for the link changed. Easy, just put a redirect there and ping the feed so iTunes can update it. Worked as it should. There is only one problem - I put a wrong new URL into the redirect: I forgot to add a / after the domain name. Now I can not correct it as the new URL is a corrupt one and can't be reached at all.
    iTunes Link: http://itunes.apple.com/ch/podcast/predigtcast-des-heilsarmee/id348536381
    Podcast ID: 348536381
    corrupt Podcast URL:
    http://predigten.homeip.netindex.php?option=com_sermonspeaker&view=feed&feed=RSS 2.0&tmpl=component
    correct Podcast URL would be:
    http://predigten.homeip.net/index.php?option=com_sermonspeaker&view=feed&feed=RS S2.0&tmpl=component
As you can see the URL is missing the '/' between 'predigten.homeip.net' and 'index.php...'
Is there anything that can be done? Would be a pity to resubmit the feed and loose the subscribers.
    Greetings
    Thomas

You could try contacting iTunes Support and explaining the situation, and ask them if they can redirect iTunes to the correct URL. I have to say that I don't think it's terribly likely they will do this - on the whole they tend to respond with form answers or send people back to this forum - but you can't lose anything by asking: I'm afraid it's your only option other than starting again from scratch. (If you do manage to get them to do this please do let us know for future reference - this problem arises from time to time.)
iTunes support, for problems with podcasts, is at
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.

  • Ipod not working, please help!!!!

I brought my ipod nano in september of last year. i have had no problem with it unitll now. yesterday when i went to navigate through the music section on my ipod it reset itself to the black apple logo. i have now fixed this problem and can navigate through the "music" file. However now whenever i connect the ipod to itunes, my ipod is recognised however when i connect it, it immediatly dis-connects itself from itunes. i also have a black pad lock next to the bar at which states how much free space i have left on the ipod. What is this?!?!?. i have read about many peoples problems with corrupt podcasts and i believe that i have a corrupt podcast. when i explore the ipod in my computer it shows a podcast in the music folder which i have tried to delete but whenevr i try to delete it it comes back again. this is the route to my problem i believe becasue now deleting every song off the ipod through my computer, this podcast is the only remaining item left on the ipod. I have tried the 5r's to correct my problem but whenevr i get to the last "r" (restore) i open the ipod updater and it says "internal ipod manager error" and shuts down the ipod updater.
sorry for the long post and please, someone help me!!!<br>

  • Error message when plugging into iTunes

I keep getting error messages that say something like my computer cannot read my iPod hard drive or that iTunes doesn't recognize my iPod.
For what reasons am I constantly receiving these messages? My theory is one of the following: 1) I bought my 5th Gen. iPod they day they came out and I just got a crappy one from the first batch off the factory floor; 2) some kind of magnet is destroying my information; or 3) I am downloading some kind of corrupted podcasts.
If someone has any suggestions or recommendations, I would be forever grateful. I'm just really tired of constantly re-downloading all my songs and podcasts on my iPod. It's an annoying waste of time and my iPod is just so unreliable.
    Thanks!

In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the following document?

  • What is re-entrant method?

I am new to EJBs. I have two questions which I don't understand.
    1. What is a re-entrant method? (sorry this might not ve related to EJB)
    2. What is the major difference between Stateful and Stateless session beans? When to use which one? I am really concerned about the exact applications where we need to use Stateful/Stateless session beans.
    Please explain me.

    2. What is the major difference between Stateful and
Stateless session beans? When to use which one? I am
really concerned about the exact applications where
we need to use Stateful/Stateless session beans.A stateful session bean does not maintain the state across method calls. If a client makes a series of remote method calls and/or transactions with the stateless bean, the bean is in the same state at the start of each method call or transaction. A stateless session bean can be used concurrently by multiple remote clients without fear of conflicting with each other, since there is no shared state data that can be corrupted. Stateless beans don't need to be passivated since they have no state that needs to be restored when they're reactivated. The container simply destroys any stateless session beans it feels are no longer needed.
A stateful session bean OTOH does maintain state that can be accessed and changed directly by the client's interactions with the bean. A stateful session bean is not intended to be accessed by more than a single remote client usually. It needs to be passivated and activated to store and retrieve the state for the client.

  • I attempted to download a podcast but it was corrupt and only a fraction downloaded. It won't download and I can't delete. How do I get it off my itouch?

I attempted to download a podcast but it was corrupt. Only a fraction downloaded and I can't download nor delete. Any ideas as to how to delete?

If a Podcast has only partially downloaded, then you need to delete that partial download before iTunes will "allow you" to begin a fresh download of that same file.
Have a look in your iTunes Media folder for the Download folder. On my Windows 7 for instance, it's Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads. In that folder, there should be a sub-folder with the name of that podcast which has the partial download in it. Delete the named podcast folder, but not the Download folder.
You should then be able to start a fresh download (if you still want it!).

  • ITunes has recently began corrupting my music library and my Podcasts. An exclamation mark has appeared at the beginning of a random number of songs and against some Podcasts with the result that they will not play on iTunes. Message is that iTunes cannot

iTunes has recently began corrupting my Music  and some of the Podcasts.  An exclamation mark appears at a random selection of songs - about a thoussanad of them - and they will not play as iTunes says that it cannot locate the file.  This also has happened on a number of Podcasts.  Any one else encountered this?

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout,or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, if you are running Windows (you've posted in iTunes for Windows, but your sig mentions Mac OS X...), and as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.
