Corrupted remote profiles

Every now and then some of our users cannot log into their profiles.
These profiles are located on the server (OSX 10.8.5, server 2.2.2) and Users use OSX 10.8.5 clients as well.
They can log in, but when starting apps like mail, safari, iCal the mac slowly but surely hangs. The problem seems to be cause by bad permissions on the profiles. But I could be wrong. Currently I fix it by simply renaming the old profile and putting the latest Time-capsule backup back in place.
The problems always start after logging in, never during use of the system.
I have no idea where to look for a cause. Can anyone give me any directions to find the root cause of this problem?

Remote profiling - websphere

i realize this isn't a pure java topic, but i'm running short on options
I'm trying to remote profile a websphere application server instance from my local websphere studio application developer IDE. I'm trying to find some docs on remote profiling, specifically setup/config instructions. i've gone to the admin console on the remote server and added "-XrunpiAgent" to the list of args, but on the client side, it is asking for the "Agent Controller Port" (i.e. which port to connect to remote VM) and i don't see how to set it. Thus i'm using the default port of 10002, but to no avail, it won't connect. Any ideas?

okay, i got the profiler to run locally with the test server environment
but i'm still not getting the data i need
i can get class & package statistics, but not much more than that
i need to see the hierarchy showing which objects instantiated which objects
OptimizeIt has this feature, but we don't have that at our disposal
so, i can see the number of instances of each class, but not WHO created them
looking at the docs the 'agent controller' comes up a lot, perhaps i need the agent controller no matter what?
as always, any help is greatly appreciated

Netbeans Remote Profiling problems

Hi,
I am trying to do remote profiling from windows with Netbeans. Application is running in linux machine. I generated the remote pack for linux 32 bit and copied in /product/integration/profiling as mentioned in http://netbeans.org/kb/docs/java/profiler-intro.html.
I started the application with the following command in target linux machine -
java -jar agentpath:/product/integration/profiling/lib/deployed/jdk15/linux/libprofilerinterface.so=/product/integration/profiling/lib,5140 <application name>
But Netbeans is not able to connect to the application. In the target machine, i typed "netstat -anp" and found 5140 is not listed.
Any idea, what's the wrong..

Your question is about Netbeans functionality on Windows,
and it is very unlikely we can answer it, because we usually
don't use Windows for development. We use Solaris and Linux.

Server 2012 R2 Corrupt User Profile Disks after RDSH reboot

Hi,
We have a serious problem when using User Profile Disks, we have a pretty simple setup with a single RDGW & RDCB and the 2x RDSH with a folder share for redirected folders and another for User Profile Disks. Now if any server suffers a re-boot when users
are connected to it then their profiles gets corrupted and are issued with a temporary profile (we have a GPO to deny use of temp profiles) and so cannot log on.
I have searched the forums and found the following hotfix
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2896328 but this ONLY applies to Windows Server 2012.
Is there any published hotfix for Server 2012 R2, else we will need to look at another way of managing profiles ?

Hi Donal,
Sorry to say but there is no other Hotfix related to this issue for Server 2012 R2. But you can try the option of deleting the SID from registry. You can find the below path and then search for proper associated SID with user name and then delete it.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\ProfileList

Windows 7 Home Premium corrupted user profile

I have a Dell Inspiron laptop and it looks like my user profile got corrupted.
I tried so far:
reboot and go to safe mode and tried to Repair Installation. It didn't work.
reboot and go to safe mode and log in. The log in failed but logged me as Default. Tried to create another user profile so I could copy my files into it. But it have no option to create another account.
While still on safe mode, tried to copy the default account as a different name. It will copy the files but it will not create a new account.
While still on safe mode, tried to create a new account on the cmd prompt, but it didn't work either.
start net user newacc newpwd
start net user newacc atcive:yes
I run out things to do! Does anyone have a clue how to fix that?? Thanks a lot.

Check that User Profile Service (ProfSvc) startup type is set to automatic. Then perform
SFC scan. If the issue persists, try the following methods (try any of the methods after moving any personal/important files to a safe location):
Method 1: Since you can logon in safe mode, go to the following directory and delete the folder Default : C:\Users\
Method 2: After logging on in safe mode, go to Start->right click Computer->click Properties. On the left pane, click Advanced System Settings. Under User Profiles, click Settings. Select Default Profile, click Delete. Restart the PC in normal mode
and then check. If it fails to solve the issue, this time, delete Default Profile as well your user account profile. Then, restart the PC in normal mode and then check.

Property Mapping in remote Profile source vs. User Porfile Mgr

I am confused about Property to user info mapping. I have mapped the user properties that I need to the user info attricutes in the user profile manager. However, if I go to setup the profile source, I am prompted to setup the mapping again. It does not recoganize the mapping already done though the user profile manager. What am I missing or not doing correctly? Do I only need to setup the Profile source no the user profile manager? I'd appreciate any insight into the differences between the two.

On the Profile source, the property map you define here maps Plumtree properties to the attribute names on the remote system you are synching with. An example from the LDAP PWS: on the portal their is a property called "Email Address". LDAP does not have an attribute with the exact name "Email Address", instead this information is stored in an attribute called "mail". So on the Profile Source, you have to map "Email Address" to "mail".
The map on the User Profile Manager allows you to map Plumtree properties to the name of the user info header you want sent to portlets. For most cases this is the same as the property name.

I have a user profile that is corrupt. In CA, under People, Manage User Profiles, I can't find the broken user profile but when I try to create profile again with New Profile. It won't let me. As it says the Profile exists already. How do I

I've had to use code like the above to delete user profiles before - however - I would strongly suggest excluding the loop from the above code - otherwise you'll be deleting ALL user profiles - which doesn't seem to be what you want to do

Win7 corrupted user profile and ExtendScript

One of our photographers had her Win7 profile corrupted. IT came by and restored her profile, and everything seemed to be working fine except that now a script that I wrote that saves an XML preference file a subfolder in her my documents folder can't be recognized. In fact I can't get ExtendScript to create a file in any directory below the my documents folder, and it will return false if I check that a file exists - even one that does exists. I've tried both the "~" to get to the directory and hardcoding the path. Nothing works. Has anyone run across this? She can save her normal PS preferences, write files to those folders, etc; but Extendscript just can't see them.

It sounds like a permissions issue… although I don't use windows… I would however use the folder objects static properties ( > CS4 ) for a flexible path as in…

Corrupted remote citadel database

Hi,
We are running a Citadel 4 DB (LV-DSC 6.1) on a 365d/24hrs schedule under LV 6.1 RTS / Logos 4.4.0.12. We've had repeated problems with the database being corrupted after a remote readout operation failed. Means the labview client application had to be aborted by the user using the win2k task manager since labview hang without even notifying the user. Can anyone tell us, what kind of problem we're dealing with? Which are the last working (!) fixes for LVDSC 6.1 and Logos which should be running?

Corrupted Browser Profiles on Sol. 10

I'm using Solaris 10 (b72) for Sparc and I'm noticing when using Netscape 7, or Mozilla 1.7.3 the profiles are showing up missing, rather the mozilla "appreg" file for the browsers are getting bad info from the OS. This does not "appear" to occur with FireFox or Solaris 8 or 9.
I can do a "fake re-create" of the profile by deleting it in the Mozilla "Profile Manager" then using the same name as the previously corrupted profile recreate it. This works until you close out, some times, but usually will break. I see no pattern yet.
Configuration: Solaris 10 is auto_mounted user's home directory to a Solaris 9 file server. In the browser's profile manager it appears to see a ?home/userid instead of /home/userid.

The ? icon simply means the file can't be found.
Well, may be... but I said, if you click them, the application launches normally and the icon is restored!
by the way: only the profile (library, movies, documents,...) is on the server: applications are on each and every machine (same place, same name...)
This suggests your network is not yet mounted when
the Dock appears.
And the problem does not appear if the users log on a non-intel machine on the very same segment of the same network...

Corrupt print profiles.

Hi there, I am using a G4 running dual 867 Mhz power PC 10.4.11 with Light Room 4.4.1 and printing on a Epson 2100.
I have used A gretag magbeth eye-one-match to create a profile for the paper and ink combination. Then when I go to print the image in Light Room using my new profile the image comes out with a blue haze over the first third of the image and it takes about 4 prints before the haze disappears. Then if I come to print the same image using the same profile the next day the same result happens. However, If I export the image and print it in Photoshop the result is OK. Do I need to trash my Light Room preferences and if so where can I find the preference to throw them away?

Remote profiling on oc4j 10.1.2 on solaris. -ojvm unrecognized option

Hi I have problems starting OC4J using the -ojvm -XXtimeport4000 parameters on a Solaris box.
The java runtime complains about unrecognized option. I've tried to find some information how to enable ojvm on the java runtime supplied with IAS 10g 10.1.2.
Do anyone have any clues?

User profile corrupted can i recover thunderbird emails?

My user profile of my computer has been corrupted. I have had to create a new username and am currently copying all my files from the c drive of my old user profile to my new user profile. When I open mozilla thunderbird, it doesn't recognize that I have ever used it before and asks if i'd like to create a new email address. What I'd like to do is get my inbox and all folders that I had created and was using on my corrupted user profile and move them to the new user profile. Is this possible and if so, how do i do it?
