Corrupted Session?

Hi everybody.
i still use audition 1.5 (windows) but i guess that could happened to newer versions as well.
my problem: so a vst plug crashed while working on a session. when i restarted audition you know the question is asked if you want to restore the former session or delete it. yes i deleted it. i thought this was cache only not having consequences to the original session file.
all the files & informations are gone. when i open it, theres simply a plain session. but: i opened the session file in the windows editor and it seems all the informations are still there! so i guess the file is somehow corrupted. so maybe can anybody help me with that session file, so that audition can read it properly again please? it was a lot of work and i will never ever press that delete button again.
i uploaded the file: http://www.sendspace.com/file/xdn92p
thanks for ANY help
chris from hamburg, germany

  • Session manager + new firefox update = corrupt sessions?!

I just updated to the new firefox and all of my sessions are now blank or possibly corrupted and it only says how many tabs i have in each session ,but i cannot click on "recover session". Can i roll back the 36 version ,or is it a problem with session manager not being compatible with the new version ? How can i recover my previous session at least?

To reiterate , I want to fix my sessions and my session manager, because I think I do have access to most of my tabs through another backup and potentially through a text editor ,but the new firefox update has created these discrepancies and I want to know how to bring everything back in order and specifically my sessions that are just showing a blank space within the session manager addon

  • Corrupt Session State? - Apex form posts text value as Null

Recently I've discovered an issue with our Apex installation in which any value chosen as a source for a text field ends up being posted as a null to the database.
We are running APEX version 3.2 within an Oracle 10.2.0.4 database using the Oracle HTTP Server from the 10g companion disk.
At first glance, everything appears to function as expected; I have created a simple table called "oracle_sr" with 2 columns both not null:
    SQL> desc capacity.oracle_sr
    Name Null? Type
    ORACLE_SR_ID NOT NULL NUMBER
    TIMESTAMP NOT NULL DATE
Within APEX the form wizard was used to create a form on this table.
After executing the pages and entering a value for the timestamp field I can create records without issue.
The issue arises when I choose a source value for the timestamp field.
Any of the source options result in the same error (including a static value) so I will focus on the SQL Query for the source as:
    select sysdate from dual;
This should substitute the system date within the timestamp text field when the page is executed.
As expected, the value appears in the text box but when I submit the form to create the record I receive the error:
ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("CAPACITY"."ORACLE_SR"."TIMESTAMP")
I have been working with APEX for quite some time and have successfully used this technique in many applications but just started to see this error over the past few days. What is particularly odd about this message is that default "not null" validations created by the form wizard sees the timestamp filed as having a value. The session state information included below is reporting a value yet the database is throwing the ORA-01400.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue? I've spent a fair amount of time trying to research this issue but cannot seem to find any similar posts.
I have included the debug output from my test page, from what I can see, there does seem to be a value associated with the timestamp filed:

If you changed the Source Type of an item from Database Column to something else, then it cannot participate in the Automated Row Fetch/Automatic Row Processing (DML) choreography. You should leave the Source Type as it was and change the item's Default Value to populate it when the ARF process fetches a null for the column.

  • Weblogic Session Management in a Cluster

As per web logic documentation here
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/cluster/failover.html
There is best practice to "Control Frame Access to Session Data".
Control Frame Access to Session Data
If you are designing a Web application that utilizes multiple frames, keep in mind that there is no synchronization of requests made by frames in a given frameset. For example, it is possible for multiple frames in a frameset to create multiple sessions on behalf of the client application, even though the client should logically create only a single session.
In a clustered environment, poor coordination of frame requests can cause unexpected application behavior. For example, multiple frame requests can "reset" the application's association with a clustered instance, because the proxy plug-in treats each request independently. It is also possible for an application to corrupt session data by modifying the same session attribute via multiple frames in a frameset.
To avoid unexpected application behavior, carefully plan how you access session data with frames. You can apply one of the following general rules to avoid common problems:
In a given frameset, ensure that only one frame creates and modifies session data.
Always create the session in a frame of the first frameset your application uses (for example, create the session in the first HTML page that is visited). After the session has been created, access the session data only in framesets other than the first frameset.
Can anyone help with the code snippet for the same ..

I'm not overly familar with Weblogic clustering, but I assume it is similar in concept to OC4J clustering. The thing that you need to be aware of is that any object stored in HttpSession needs to be completely serializable. The LibrarySession that you create/obtain for a user cannot be serialized. Thus you need to come up with a technique that allows a user to obtain the same librarysession instance from whatever store it may be across multiple requests.
CM SDK, Files, Content Services typically achieve high availability through use of multiple midtiers with Big IP in front. Our out-of-box applications do not make use of OC4J clustering.
    thanks,
    matt.

  • Firefox not loading tabs from last session + cant unpin tab.

I found a solution that other people might find helpful:
Short version: Do a disk check to fix the error - requires a reboot for the disk to be fixed if the profile is on your windows partition.
    Long Version:
It was a disk corruption that for some odd reason was continuously replacing the sessionstore file with a corrupt version timed and dated at a time when firefox had crashed.
The fix was to go to 'my computer' -> Right click the drive with the profile on -> tools tab -> [check now]
make sure [automatically fix file system and errors] is checked
    Click [start]
    Click [force dismount]
    Click [schedule a check]
    *Reboot computer*
Let the disk check fix the error.
Fixed (if not then close firefox, delete sessionstore.js in the profile folder and restart firefox).

    Hi Kvoter,
Thank you for posting that! If you find yourself looking to answer more questions, you can check out our How to contribute page in the Contributor tools menu of this website.
Thanks again, and I will try this the next time I see a corrupted session restore file!

  • Missing files from crashed session

I was working on a mix down when the system started to crash. I managed to hit save before the crash.
I reopened audition. I went to open the session but all the support files I recorded were not showing up on the component files side. The files are still in the folder but when I open up the session no tracks open up but the master track.
I tried downloading all the files to audition and then opening the session but the same thing happed. No tracks but the master.
    Please help.

Lorne, this is a known issue that has, hopefully, been addressed with the 3.0.1 patch. Download and install the patch. It won't help you recover the now-corrupted session, but it might prevent it from happening again.
You have to rebuild the session. Get rid of the corrupted session file and create a new session from scratch. The good news is that any presets you might have saved in the FX racks should still be there. As I recall, those presets are not session dependent.

I have another kind of problem with Firefox
    == Description
    ==
A couple of days ago after seemingly working fine the day before Firefox suddenly decided to stop working. I seem to recall updating both my Adobe Flash and my Java on that day, and I'm also not 100% sure that I didn't change my Overclock settings too (but I think I did that and Firefox was still working)
Basically if I "start" Firefox from any location be it shortcut, direct executable or otherwise the application does not "run" I get the process but that is all. I have tried renaming to various combinations but still nothing appears to have any effect. Using the -profilemanager suffix in my shortcut / startmenu search and creating and using a new Profile has no effect either as does deletion, and Firefox Safe Mode shows the settings window but after choosing to open in safe mode nothing happens and I am left with the Firefox process hanging there doing nothing. I have tried multiple compatibility and administrator run settings but no effect.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled. Done full cleans deleting everything to do with Firefox and its Profiles. Uninstalled Flash and Java, and then Reinstalling FF. I have scoured the registy deleting anything obviously connected to Firefox, Mozilla and even Java to no effect (I have not cleaned out for Flash due to having multiple Adobe apps which I would prefer not to screw up.) I have downgraded from 3.6.3 to 3.6.2 and as far as 3.5.1 and then doing upgrade to the new 3.6.4. All with the help of my CCleaner to tie off any loose ends, but nothing seems to work. Can't restore pc to earlier date as I only remembered about it after I had already made too many changes.
The only time I can manage to run Firefox properly at all is when I am in Windows Safe Mode, I am sick of Google Chrome as it feels really slow and I also dislike Safari, Opera and Internet Explorer. I really do not know what else to do and would really appreciate some help so that I may use the only good browser that I have found again.

  • Adobe 3.0.1 BUGFIX PATCH is released

Okay, something that a lot of you have waited for for quite a while, and some simply didn't believe would ever happen...
    You can get it
here. Quite a lot of small things have been attended to, and quite a few of us haven't managed to crash it at all, despite trying quite hard!
    Additional information from forum host:-
Download size is less than 14MB - it's not anything like the size of the original program download.
In case you missed the link in SteveG's post, it's as follows -
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=92&platform=Windows
The changes in Adobe Audition 3.0.1 are as follows:
Spectral tools no longer crash machines with more than four CPU cores.
The Graphic Phase Shifter effect has been reenabled.
Performance while recording MIDI data has been improved.
The Sequencer will now record MIDI data even if the panel is closed.
Adobe Audition will now launch on Windows Vista® systems where the My Documents folder was moved from the default location.
The application will now ignore Windows "Locale" settings to format decimal data in comma-delimited XML settings files.
A Healing Brush crash issue has been addressed.
Crossfades are no longer incorrectly added to grouped clips when overlapped with non-grouped clips.
Invalid crossfades will no longer be added to the end of a previously trimmed clip after enabling or disabling looping.
Invalid crossfades for clips after enabling non-session tempo-based looping have been addressed.
Dragging crossfaded clips onto the master track no longer creates two additional tracks and an error in the crossfades.
Inserting MIDI from the Files panel would cause the application to hang in Edit mode for an audio file whose sample rate didn't match the session.
Several scenarios where crossfade changes could corrupt a session were addressed.
Closing a session without exiting the rewire app no longer causes Adobe Audition to save a blank session.
Undo no longer becomes disabled after undoing the creation of unique copies of two crossfaded clips.
Crossfaded clips no longer disappear after undoing move clips.
Canceling VST scan no longer causes Adobe Audition to become unstable.
If a selection existed, a full session mixdown would only process MIDI data through the end of the selection.
The Open MIDI dialog box was not completely modal and could cause a crash.
MIDI Host had problems with some Spectrasonics VSTi instruments, where it wouldn't show the entire UI.
CD burning would sometimes create a corrupted disk but still report a successful burn.
Applying the Clip/Pop Eliminator no longer crashes the application.
Crash recovery is now more reliable when using Auto-Save For Recovery.
When the application detects the possible saving failure that causes a corrupted session, a warning dialog box now appears so users can retry the save.
Transport controls are no longer disabled if a new session is opened without closing the existing session.
Crossfades will now retain their original shape when clips are moved and the session is reopened.

  • How to get an app to run again without forcing quit.

I was working on a paper and have multiple Word windows open. Once I logged on to my computer, I could not use/edit the current window that was open. I opened another window that was minimized and that one did not respond. I opened all of them and they all have the spinning rainbow thing that makes you wait until it loads. I would force quit, but I have unsaved documents (my paper). I did create a document which is saved in a folder on my desktop, but I worked on it since the last time I saved it and I do not know how much I would lose if I forced quit. Is there any way I could close other apps, delete downloads or create space (I am guessing that will help it load) that will allow it to load? I do not remember the last update I installed. I am almost positive I have not updated it from Mavericks to Yosemite.

if you force quit you loose everything. If you have no choice but to force quit your best bet is to restart the computer before you attempt to launch the application again to rule out a corrupt session. If the problem persists it could be a bug in the app, an incompatibility with something else running or permission issue.
reboot, if the problem persists try quitting out of all open applications and repairing permissions
    Macintosh HD:Applications:Utilities:Disk Utilities
click your boot drive, click REPAIR PERMISSIONS and let it finish.

  • Looping recorded data (project specific)

    Hi everyone,
I've recently got logic studio and absolutely loving it - it's great.
I've got this project that I started quite recently and whenever I record in it (be it audio or MIDI) as soon as you hit the space bar to stop recording your region gets infinitely looped to the end marker (as it would if you dragged the top right corner). There is nothing destructive about this it's just a pain and it's not what I got the software to do! The weirdest thing about it is that it only does it in this project, and closing and reopening doesn't work. Anyone know of something project specific like a setting that I could have changed which would cause this, it's extremely irritating!
    Alex
    (Logic Pro 8 - v 8.0.2)

Sounds strange. Could you maybe upload the session and link to it so that I or someone else could have a look and see if there's something you're doing wrong?
It's hard to say what you should look at. It could also be simply a corrupted session...

  • Re-Occurring Error Message

I get this error message whether I'm running MIDI, No MIID, Audio, or No Audio.
This message just keeps coming up whatever configuration I'm using.
    Any Ideas?
    Thanks you
    Error message states:
'Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI'

I've gotten this message when the clock source on my audio interface was accidentally set to 'spdf" so it was looking for an external clock that was not showing up. I have NO idea how It got switched, but setting it back to internal stopped the problem. I've also seen it when I had 2 drastic tempo changes programed in a song that were too close together. The third time was just a corrupted session and I had to copy and paste everything including the audio configuration into a new song. Good luck, and don't take elephantitus too seriously, he blows lots of hot air when he doesn't have the answers he needs. I've NEVER gotten an error message from Logic that more knowledgeable forum members than I could not solve of explain.

  • Recreatable Bug in Audition 3

Hello all, I believe I have found a re-createable bug in AA3 and here is how you can create it.
Load up a session, and on one of the tracks select all the clips.
Now, right click a clip and select "clip envelopes > pan > use splines".  So now you have set the clip pan envelopes (NOT the volume envelopes but the PAN envelopes) to use splines.
Now play back your Multitrack session and within the clips you have set to use splines, keep creating new enveloping points and adjust these envelope points just before the cursor while the cursor is playing and moving toward the envelope points...adjust envelopes just before the cursor gets there and eventually Audition will stop functioning and you will get the message
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    (X) Runtime Error!
    C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\AdobeAudition 3.0\Audition.exe
    R6025 Pure Virtual Function Call"
It also happens (although not nearly as often) when I'm adjusting the "pan splines" whilst Audition is not playing the session, and is completely stopped.
This is the first real "bug" I have encountered, has anyone else had the same experience or are you able to re-create it?  You have to play with the splines from anywhere from 10 seconds to a minute and eventually with repeated changes in the pan and the addition of more envelope points it will crash.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, or if you can re-create it in 3.0.1, which I have yet to upgrade to because my friend did and he has now encountered bugs that were not in the original 3.0, can anyone confirm this bug and/or whether it's been fixed in 3.0.1?
My system has been so stable otherwise I don't want to touch it, even with this re-createable bug, after it crashed if I "control+s" and save the results, it doesn't save the session permanently, but when I choose "continue session" in the post-crash dialog box, it returns my clips with the spline envelopes set just as they were just prior to the crash.

I can do slightly better than that - I'll post it here:

Please note the one I bolded, and the one underneath. I also strongly suspect that this is only the list of tangible things - there have been quite a few changes 'under the hood' to make all this possible, and this has definitely been more stable than the original version - I had healing brush crashes before, and not a single one since. I'm not aware of a single report from anybody that this bugfix release has made anything worse or more unstable at all, and most reports of crashes have more to do with people's unstable OS installs than anything else, and they certainly don't relate to the bugfix, whatever you may have heard.
