Corrupted update!

My itunes has been uninstalled after doing an update! can anyone help? how do i get it back? The error message is:  "this copy of itunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly. Please re-install itunes."

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Can you launch your iTunes now?

  • ITunes errors - corrupted updates and error 14

So I'm trying to update my iPad mini 1G from 7.1.1 to 7.1.2 but iTunes cannot download the update firmware without corrupting the download. I tried 14 other ipsws from other websites and iTunes will either hang during the update (30+ min) or when the progress bar reaches the end iTunes will give me error 14. I've tried looking in the forums but nothing helps, I've reinstalled iTunes on my Mac, I've used three different cables to fix error 14: nothing works. Here are my specs:
    OS X 10.9.3 (Mavericks)
    iTunes 11.2.2 (3)
    iPad Mini 1G 7.1.1

    Hi there CpuNerd,
It looks like you have already tried a few things, but you may still find these resources helpful. The article below has troubleshooting for the specific error you are receiving.
Resolve iOS update and restore errors

    Check your USB connections
    Related errors: 13, 14, 1600, 1601, 1602, 1603, 1604, 1611, 1643-1650, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2009, 4005, 4013, 4014, or “invalid response."
If the USB connection between your device and computer is interrupted, you may be unable to update or restore.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use the USB cable that came with your device, or a different Apple USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port directly on your computer. Don't plug it into your keyboard.
    Try a different computer.
If necessary, resolve any further issues with the USB connection, then with your security software.
If you're still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues by following the next section.

  • HELP! Corrupted update file??

Power cycle all your network hardware (router and/or modem). Uninstall ESO. Re-install fully from disk. Then download the update.

So I bought Elder Scrolls Online collectors imperial edition hard copy (disk) and when trying to download the game it finishes the update and when I open the game it gives me this message "Cannot continue using the application. The data for the following application is corrupted. Delete the application from the ps4, and then insert disk again." Yesterday my mother in law brought her disk for us to try, same exact disk, different factory sealed box. It let me make an account, updated my trophy list and I payed for a few hours, but when trying to open the game today it said it needed the update file, as if it never installed to the system. I'm re-installing the update file to see if it kicks me out again. I need help!!!

  • ITunes update was corrupted and now I can't update anymore.

    Hi all!
While trying to update iTunes (either by Software Update menu or iTunes itself) it displays the following message:
Both Software Update and iTunes detects that there's an update available. Yet, the message above appears once I click on the Install button.
Any idea how to solve this?
    Many thanks in advanced.

    excellent news.
What I'm not sure now is that the corrupted update data is still somewhere in my Mac or it was replaced by the new installation I did. (Yes, I'm the kind of person who needs to keep control over the computer things)
I don't believe so. I think the trouble with getting the updates is more at the Apple servers end of things with this particular issue. (Reports of this error message come in patterns which seem to suggest that.) So I think you should be okay.
... the acid test will be when the next iTunes update comes out. (It's been around two months since the last one, which seems an unnaturally long time between updates, already.)

  • Firefox 3.6.10 update won't load on restart (tried many times) and exits after warning to restart again - how to disable warning so don't have to start twice every time I use Firefox?

I regret agreeing to download Firefox 3.6.10 update, as it is somehow corrupted, and will not load when I restart. Subsequently, every time I start Firefox, it warns "Update Ready to Install", then when I don't restart (if I restart, it won't load) it exits, and I have to start Firefox a second time. Then it works without the warning, but when I exit and start Firefox again, the warning returns and the cycle repeats. This is such a nuisance I have gone back (reluctantly) to Explorer. Is there anyway for me to get rid of this corrupted update and go back to before I downloaded the fateful update?

First, run the disk utility and check/repair the HD. Then run DU again and repair permissions.
    See if that helps.
I recommend downloading the combo update directly:
    http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/macosx_updates/macosx1052comboupdate .html
It has been less problematical than the software update version.
You can install 10.5.2 over the first 10.5.2, but only if you have not already installed the Airport/TM update, which for some reason precludes installing 10.5.2.

  • Apps crashing after 4.3.3 update

I have a iphone4 and its NEVER been jailbroken, I updated from 4.2 and almost all my apps crash on startup. My phone had absolutly no problems before i updated now when i open a store bought app it goes to a black screen then back to my home screen. It wont ever actally run the app for more than 1 sec.  I restarted my phone many times and having the same issue. ive even tried reseting some of my settings, still nothing.  I believe apple released a corrupted update because some people are reporting the same problem.  If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know, i really would hate to have to wait for a patch.
Do Not Update to 4.3.3, it is too risky!  Every app i purchased or downloaded for free is Crashing!! D:

Try downloading any free app to your phone, or delete any free app on your phone & then re-download that app to your phone.

  • Apple TV2 made useless after last update

I want to start by saying I love my Apple TV, or at least I did when it was working. The problem is since the most recent update, I've lost the ability to connect to my network at all making the Apple TV nothing more than an expensive paperweight. Regardless of whether or not I have the Ethernet cable plugged in, the Apple TV thinks it's plugged in. It's not able to resolve an IP address through the wired connection and since it is also unable to engage the wireless radio, I can't connect that way either. I initially though it was the result of a bad setting somewhere so I reset everything but there was no change. I then thought maybe I had a corrupted update so I decided to restore it. Since I can't connect to the Internet, I couldn't restore it on its own so I had to plug in a micro USB cable from my camera and use iTunes. That's a bad design, but irrelevant to my situation. After restoring, I have the same issue. At this point I don't know what to do. I know it's not my router since all of my other devices are connecting just fine and I know my Apple TV was working a few weeks ago when I last used it. The only thing that's changed is the software update. I know I'm not the only person with this problem since a bit of Googling has resulted in others with the exact same symptoms but as of yet, I haven't found anyone able to fix it.
    Any help is appreciated!

I checked the socket and it appeared to be fine. No obvious obstructions or anything. I also tried assigning it a fixed IP address with no change. Since it didn't seem to be able to set its network time I decided to see if I could set it manually. Unfortunately I could only set the timezone so I turned off the automatic setting there and set it to the correct timezone. After a restart nothing had changed so I decided to set the timezone back to automatic. Instead of defaulting to Cupertino it stayed with Washington, DC which was what I'd set it to previously so I thought this was promising. After another restart, it made it past the setting network time screen but it reported that it was unsuccessful. At least it made it past this screen on it's own instead of me pressing the menu key to cancel it. So, I decided to check the network settings again and this time I was shocked to see wifi as an option! Technically, the Ethernet cable was still plugged in but it was at least showing that the wireless radio was 'on' for a change. This gave me hope so I attempted to connect wirelessly to my network and it worked! After all this time, it looks like the timezone setting is what it was getting stuck on.

  • Important Advice : Clean update

    Hey guys,
For some reason many people are facing issues with updating ther iPhones. I also faced major ones with the 2.0.1 update. Similar reactions can be observed with 2.0.2
A common reason for the issues is a corrupt update file. To resolve issues if you have Windows, delete the previous update file from the folder:
    C:\Documents and Settings{Admin User}\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
For Mac Users, Try searching an executable file "iPhone" Once you identify the setup file, you can delete it and proceed further.
Then start iTunes and look for updates for your iPhone. You will be able to download a fresh copy of the update setup file. Try reinstalling the update on to your phone and things should be fine.

  • Windows 8.1 bad updates, it updates to look like Win Tech Preview!

Windows 8.1 without last updates has a some features that are different to Windows 8.1 with last updates, here are some:
    1) Windows 8.1 WU ( Without updates ) has a bottom actionbar track when you right click it, and Windows 8.1 WTU ( With last updates ) have white panel like Windows Tech Preview! It have shut down button, that didnt exist, new ALL APPS screen
    and other changed functions!
Why Microsoft do that? Some peoples love our Windows 8.1 with its features, and they dont want features that are in Win Tech Preview!

    Hi,
First, I would like to confirm what the "bottom actionbar track" stands for. Would you please post back the screenshot of your issue?
Considering that the issue can be caused by corrupted update installation or configuration. Please list out the updates you have installed before this issue.
I suggest you perform a system restore before these updates and then try to install them one by one manually to see if there is one of them cause your issue, then post back for our research.

  • Photosmart 5520: No internet connection post update download

Brand new 5520. Connected to internet straightup and dowloaded the update. Now I get "server connection  error... check connection etc". This occurs via both the printer touchpad and the browser interface. So... no ePrint or apps possible. Direct wireless for devices works fine.
Could it be a corrupted update download? Anyway to force a reinstall?
    Any thoughts?

Let's set a static IP address and external DNS for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS. This is Google DNS. You can choose another external DNS if you wish.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • The update "Mac OS X Update" can't be installed.

I get this message after it asks me to restart, and when the bar is moving it randomly stops and gives me this message:
The update "Mac OS X Update" can't be installed.
The Installer could not validate the contents of the 'MacOSCUpd10.5.6' package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
I'm running the update right through the software update screen. It's odd. I have just a two-week old MacBook Pro and can't figure out why I'm receiving this problem.

It's probably a corrupted update. It failed to validate. Nothing to do with your computer. One or more bits in the download are wrong.
I suggest using the download from the apple site:

  • Lost power while downloading Software Updates...

    Hi,
I would like to get some guidance in the following situation. I was using the Software Update utility in OSX Lion to download some updates for my computer. Everything was working fine until my home lost power while the computer was in the middle of downloading one of the patches. Since my Mac is a MacBook Pro the computer stayed on during the brief outage (lasting less than a minute), but software update showed a warning message indicating that some downloads could not be finished due to a lost of connectivity. I clicked the "OK" button and was returned to the SU downloads list. When the connection was reestablished I clicked again the install button. The dowloads continued and the computer then restarted to install them.
Since the update download was interrupted and then the item continued to download from where it let off; are there any chances of data curruption? or the software update has some redundancies to detect the corrupted update data?
Thanks for your assistance on this matter!

    macjack wrote:
Not to worry. If the download continued, opened and installed. Part of the operation is a check of the download.
Perfect, so I won't need to wipe my drive and reinstall Lion again. So far it seems that all updates are running OK, I am not seeing any indications of errors in Console at the time indicating some type of corruption.
I was really worried because I had to perform a Lion clean install this morning after Console started giving me some messages about a wrong checksum, and this power outage came after I finished the installation of OSX Lion and the bundled apps and was updating them to their latest version via software update.
    Thanks for the assistance!
