Corsair Vengeance K95 RGB

Hello,
A family member gave me a keyboard for my birthday. They did not get the keyboard that I wanted. The keyboard was purchased about 3 months ago from Best Buy, but has just been opened last week. Is this product available for return or exchange?
The keyboard that was purchased:
Corsair Vengeance K95 RGB - $175

Hi there LukeFlaxman,
It was truly kind of someone to purchase you this keyboard, although I'm sorry to hear you may not be satisfied with it. Under our Return & Exchange Promise, unfortunately this purchase would be far past the return or exchange period of 15 days. Outside of this timeframe, we would unfortunately not be able to accept this item back. I apologize if this was not the news you were hoping for. I got MSI 990XA-GD55 and 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz but i tried everything to get it run at 1866mhz and i couldn't. It doesn't even run at 1600mhz. Only at 1333 or around 1500mhz. I set the timings manually but i doesn't work. Am i doing something wrong? Anyone can help me to figure out?

By saying memory controller, it's about CPU or mainboard?
AMD cpu's from the phenom series support 1066/1266/1333/1600(usually only supports that with an overclock and 2 dimms installed) MHZ on the memory controler! only way you can get more frequancy is by overclocking the memory controler on the cpu to allow the increased frequancy on the dimms (most ram that says its 1866mhz is ment that its been tested overclocked at that speed but the chips will more then likely be 1600MHZ)!

  • Z68A-GD80 (B3) + Corsair Vengeance: Which HSF will fit?

    Greetings,
I just migrated from Q6600 + DFI INF 975X to i7 2600K + Z68A-GD80 (B3). This is my new motherboard with all of its technologies after not updating my knowledge since 2006. I know nothing about DrMosfet and why do they heatsink-ed. But, I just realized that that heatpipe and other heatsink would (or wouldn't) be my problem after I simply push the "OC Genie" button on my motherboard.
My i7 2600K can run up to 4.1GHz by simply pushing the OC Genie button. But then I realized that with stock HSF, my processor's temp was 71C when Prime95 was running. On an idle state, its temp is around 28-30C with 29C of temperature room (non-AC). My casing is Enlight (somewhat series I don't know) that has side fan for intake air flow to on top of Intel Stock HSF.
I'm thinking to give an adequate cooling accessories. My candidates are:
    1. Noctua NH-D14
    2. Noctua NH-U12P
    3. Corsair H70
I put Corsair H70 as my last option, since the price is doubled from Noctua NH-U12P. The Corsair local dealer said that the liquid inside H70 will only last for 2-3 years in my country. So, I should also spare another $$$ to buy another HSF 3 years from now. Hence, I'm still thinking "conventional" HSF Aluminum would be my first priority over liquid cooling solution.
    My questions are:
    1. Will Noctua NH-D14 will fit to my mainboard? I'm affraid that the heatsink and heatpipe around processor will block the installation. Please also note that my Corsair Vengeance has passive heatsink and 50mm height.
    2. What about Noctua NH-U12P? the performance based on review in overclocker forum only differs 1-2C above NH-D14.
    Thanks.

OCGenie pushes voltages higher than what is really needed. Thus part of your temps are probably a direct cause of this.
I'm totally newbie on over clocking. On Q6600 I just raising up the FSB without increasing up the voltage. Maybe I should learn in an advance way to over clocking 2600K. Thanks for OCGenie Info

Keep it that way. Mine is in the cupboard. I have The Noctua NH-C14 and it performs as well as the H70 on CPU core temps but has the added advantage of cooling the CPU surrounds. My 2600K goes to about 64-68C core at 25-30C ambient under fullload at 4,5GHz.
Is it Normal to have 68C on that speed? I thought any noctua could cooling it down to 53C based on review. Maybe I missed something in the review didn't stated whether it was conducted on winter or summer... I'll find that on local store.

It will be a tight fit, and you may have to install the RAM before the cooler.
Nice tips. I'll consider it if NH-D14 is my best option. Some said that I can put the fan little bit higher, since RAM Heatsink will touch the fan not touch the aluminum fin if it is installed on the right orientation.

Consider the Zalman 9900 as well, testing also only shows minor temp differences and HU16E has had excellent results on allhis builds with this cooler. I used one on a X58 before and it was really good. The advantage is the good clearance that allows easy RAM installation even with these oversized heatsinks on some RAM modules.
never heard of those series before, but I'll google it. I know Zalman as the brand of my 5.1 headphone gaming series thanks for recommendation. I'll find the availabilities of those recommended brand and type.

  • MSI P67A-C45 with 4x4Gb Corsair Vengeance = random freezes in bios

Ok here is the problem i hope you guys can help me with. I recently bought the following rig:
    - MSI P67A-C45 Motherboard
    - 4x4Gb Corsair Vengeance memory.
    - MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC
    - Core i7 2600K
I am having the following issues:
Whenever i put in all the memory, the PC won't boot, it hangs even in the BIOS (at random pages). Everything seems to run fine (except for a minor detail which i will mention later) with 12 Gb installed (3 dimms that is). I have tried changing the voltage to 1.65v but this doesn't change anything. With 12 Gb (or even only 4Gb) installed there is only one weird thing happening:
Whenever the pc wakes from hibernation i get the following error:
“Your system's firmware did not preserve the system memory map across the hibernation transition. If you proceed with resume, your system could behave in an unexpected manner after resume completes. It is recommended that you save all your data and reboot after system resume finishes. Kindly check for a firmware update with your system vender as it may fix this problem."
Then after clicking resume it says i can't resume from the saved state and that it will be discarded (effectively doing a clean boot of the OS).
Can these two problems be related, and if so, is it a hardware problem or some BIOS settings i can try?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Have you tested your mem sticks individually with memtest ? There is always a chance of a defective module.
    2. Test the mem at 1333. Insert only 2, set it to 1333 manually in the BIOS, save and switch off.  Add all modules and see if it boots.
    3. You may also want to reseat your CPU, whilst it's out, check the CPU contact pads for indentations and see if there are any pins on the socket that are bent.
    1. I have tested with 1 mem stick, then with 2, then 3 and then 4 (memtest from bios seems to be the only thing not crashing with 4 mem sticks). So i have not tested everything individually, but in my opinion this should be thorough enough.
    2. I have done this exact thing but then with 3 mem sticks, only adding the last one when switched off, then turning it back on again. I will try with the two so in dual channel, this might make a bit of a difference.
    3. I have reseated the CPU once, it is not a fun thing with the Big Shuriken cooler i have , i'll try this as a last resort.

  • Compatibility of corsair vengeance pro on H55M-E33

Recently i bought a new kit of corsair vengeance pro (2x4gb) 1866 mhz to replace my old 2x2gb. By using the same memory slot of the old ones(i plug them out and place the new in), bsod of windows appear (irql not equal, bad header, etc)
So is there any help? Thanks
After that placing new ram in, my keyboard/mice will not work at boot screen making me unable to choose F1,F2 for run default values.
Placing back the old ram and everything works fine, i just wanna upgrade more space of ram and better ram kit for future upgrade of pc.
Currently bios is ver 1.8, trying to update to newest using live update but appears checksum error so using back the default values.

When i install OS and other apps there have no problem but when i using XMP profile to have my ram work at 1600MHz and set Dram voltage to 1.502, i had BOSD every 20m . What the problems here? Can anyone help me how to set these ram at 1600.
When i check with memtest86+ every thing fine with dual ram, i run it for 10 pass without errors. Then i check 1 stick at slot 2 it's show CAS 6-6-6-20 even i have set XMP profile at bios, is it OK? But then it still had 10 pass without errors.
I check again with slot 4, 1, 3 every thing show 9-9-9-24 when at memtest.
I have try everything but it seem only work with default setup (1333MHz). I wonder if this Ram, Main or PSU error.
    Sorry for my english.

  • Need help for my P67 GD55 with Corsair Vengeance

    Hello, all
I just bought MSI gd 55 with  corsair vengenance
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233142&cm_re=vengenance-_-20-233-142-_-Product
The default setting by MB is 1333Mhz when I first turn it on. So I manually set them all to the corsair speed. (including SPD timing)
It won't boot with 1.53v voltage.
K, so I set it to 1600MHz, it rran smoothly and the system was stable even in high stress gaming.
However, when I did a fresh start up.....it won't boot again and boost me back to 1333 Mhz..
I have been tried this like 3 times now,  I already sent a ticket to Corsair, will see what happen
Because newegg is accepting return due to 67 chpiest issue, if it won't work due to the incomplaity between MB and corsair.
Guess i should pick up Asus MB again which my old one was using (X48)
I'm not sure what's the problem from, the MB or memory
Anyone has an idea? I hate to fill up a MSI ticket due to it's long enough to write...It's headach

Was the intel's chipest issue all about SATA 2 internal voltage ?
I think it has nothing to do with the memory's speed.
At least, corsair works fine with my old asus X48...........Probably asus is the last brand I can choose. Gigabyte is also garbage, my old x38 only last 2 months, then it was dead....repaired.........4 more weeks, it was dead again.
Finally, newegg replaced a asus x48 from gigabyte x38.
Then, the asus x48 never stop working again.
"Here's the thing we can confirm, the problem is to be found solely in the SATA 300 controller, the SATA 600 controllers are unaffected as well as any other added controllers on your motherboard.
On the up-to four SATA2 (SATA 300) ports in a timeframe measured over years, your performance failure rate 5% to 15% based on standard usage. The controller simply will produce more errors and as that result the controller performance thus will go down as it tries to correct it. Worst case scenario is that the overhead would get so big that your HDD/SSD would not be recognized in Windows any longer. These predictions are all based on statistical numbers though

Hey, I just recently got this memory kit (2x 4gig) for my new thinkpad because it was on sale for about the same price as a 1600 set. To my dismay however, I find that with these new sticks I've been getting nothing but BSODs upon startup, even in safe mode.
I've tested the ram with mem84 and haven't gotten any errors. So I was wondering what the problem could be? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

  • MSI Z77A-G43 GAMING with CORSAIR Vengeance Pro CMY8GX3M2A1866C9

    HI,
I need to know please if i can use this ram kit  ?
if yes, can i get the max ram freq (1866MHz) by enableing xmp in bios ?
    cpu: I5 3550 Ivy bridge
    thanx

XMP will not be found under CPU support. Its not a CPU function. Its a pre-defined memory SPD profile that can be used by board manufacturers as a BIOS feature. A sort of a one-stop shop to apply a certain overclocked memory condition.
The RAM manufacturer will have predefined JEDEC SPD profiles programmed onto a EEPROM chip on the mem module. If its overclocked memory, then additional XMP profile/s may be added. This XMP profile can be applied by enabling the XMP feature in the BIOS. This enabling of the XMP then tries to apply the pre-programmed profile to the CPU memory controller. The mem controller may or may not work at this desired XMP setting. It saves you the effort of setting the overclocked mem profile manually.
With Ivy bridge CPUs the mem controller can apply 1600 as default. Anything above that is not guaranteed.
Thus if you have memory with a XMP 1600 profile, then its most probably 1333 memory with an overclocked XMP profile of 1600.
XMP also will only become visible in the BIOS if the memory actually has a XMP profile.
If your memory has a 1866 XMP profile, then that will be applied to the IMC, or at least an attempt will be made. The IMC may or may not work at that OC'ed mem setting. Further tweaking maybe needed, i.e. increased voltage to stabilise. Experience though shows that most of the memory controllers on Ivy will not have a problem with 1866.

  • Memtest86+ test failed Z77A-G45 + Corsair Vengeance 16gb

Just got board back from RMA and ram memtest86+ on new ram.  No system instability or BSOD just been having really bad luck lately.  New GPU bought lasts Thursday seem dodgy (rattling fan, and cannot handle a small overclock, which other people had no problem with)  and though I might take a look at the new ram also.
    Memtest86+ v4.20 -
2 sticks - Dimm 2 & 4 error on in first pass.  Correct CAS in Bios and Memtest 10-10-10-27
1 stick - Dimm 2 error first pass. Bios CAS 10-10-10-27.  Memtest 6-6-6-20 -both sticks-
1 stick - Dimm 3 error first pass. Bios and Memtest 10-10-10-27 -both sticks-
did not try Dimm 1 cause heatsink was in the way and Dimm 4 since it failed in the first two Dimms already.
Little searching on google and 6-6-6-20 timing seem very common in Memtest86+.  2 out of the 4 Dimm alway show 6-6-6-20 timing while the other corresponds correctly
I didn't try to manually set Timing since in dual channel mode timing is correct and and though that is how its suppose to work or 6-6-6-20 was a Memtest bug.
Now Memtest86+ 5.00b1 - with ivy bridge support
2 sticks - Dimm 2 & 4 error on in first pass.  Correct CAS in Bios and Memtest 10-10-10-27 (later found they where false positives)
1 stick - Dimm 2 error first pass. Bios CAS 10-10-10-27.  Memtest 6-6-6-20
1 stick - Dimm 3  Bios and Memtest 10-10-10-27 no errors after 8 passes
Testing stick 2 now.  Is it safe to say that if this stick does 8 passes with no errors then the ram is good and though Dimm 2 has wrong timing in Memtest single channel.  In dual channel Dimm2 & 4 the timing is correcty that is fine also.  Or should I manually set the timing and test every Dimm slot.
    Thanks

Memtested the good stick of ram agian in DIMM2 before bringing it back to exchange.
First time with just XMP profiles and it failed before the first pass.
Then set timing manually and had no erorrs for 1 pass,   though memtest still showed the CAS as 6-6-6-20 while the Bios and CPUz had the correct 10-10-10-27. Then tried DIMM 4 just to see what the timing was and it was the right one just like DIMM 3.
Also used the Windows 8 built in memory diagnostic. one stick at a time and it caught the problem with the bad stick.  And just used it again with both new sticks installed and it passed.
Just wondering if there are other memory diagnostic tools I can try using.  Memtest 5.0 has a lot of glitches, freezes, false postives, and 4.20 from what I gather does not support Ivy Bridge

  • MSI X48C Platinum and DDR3 corsair 2x4 GB @ 1600mhz WILL IT WORK??

Hi , I truly appreciate the mere existence of this forum .
    my system is :
    PSU : Corsair 650HX
    CPU : Intel Core2Duo E6750
    GPU : Geforce GTX 260
    RAM : (currently 2x1gig DDR2 @ 667 Mhz)
    and
i just bought 2x4gb dims of DDR3 ram (corsair vengeance)
it doesn't work ( i believe it's because it maxes out at 8 gigs so it won't support 4gig dims?? just a guess)
    my question is this :
if i change the memory for four 2gig dims , at the same frequency (1600 mhz , ddr3 ) will it work without the need for tweaking ,
or at least a minimal quantity of the whole tweaking-ness?
i'm only asking because time is of the essense ( i really need the pc working )
and if there is no chance of this combination working, would 4x2 gigs at 1333 Mhz work ??
also , since i don't believe i have ever updated the mobo's bios , should i do that? ( and which is the safest way to do it??)
and just out of curiosity , what is the fastest memory that this mobo can support at 8 gigs without any stability problems whatsoever ??

Your board and the chipset do support DDR3-1600. The memory you are mentioning is not on the support list.
    The board's support states Quote
Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 1.5 Volt DDR3 800/1066/1333/1600 DRAM, 8GB Max
Thus you need 2GB modules to get to 8GB if that is what you need/want.
See here for the supported memory modules http://eu.msi.com/file/test_report/TR10_1393.pdf
You will see that no DDR-1600 2gb module is even on that list. Only 1GB 1600 modules were tested.
If you want to use 2GB modules then get yourself 1333 modules. The performance difference is minimal and you should have good stability with these modules.
