Cosmos Touch will not power off

I connected my Cosmos Touch to my computer allowed it to update.  It is frozen on the "Downloading.... do not unplug" screen.   I have tried holding the power off button to attempt to force it off with no luck.
I have since unplugged it.  Any ideas besides letting it just die and hope for the best when it recharges?
Thanks for any help.

Hello ocean85,
I would like to make sure that you are able to get past the "downloading" screen and your device is now functioning as normal. Did you ever attempt to remove the battery directly? How were you alerted of the software update? I would like to troubleshoot further if necessary. Please PM me and I can investigate the concern in more detail. I look forward to hearing from you.

  • My ipod touch will not power off

After I updated the version of iTunes, I cannot power off the iPod touch (4th gen).  I manually reset it (through the settings/general/reset).  It will NOT allow me to reset by holding power and bottom button.  When I hold those two simultaneously, it turns on voice control.

    - Let the battery fully drain. After charging for at least an hour try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My 4th generation ipod touch will not power off and the volume buttons do not work, any suggestions?

My ipod's power off and volume buttons are not working. It's as if the volume down button is constantly being pressed. Both buttons "work" as far as I can press them in, but there is no response from the ipod. Any suggestions? I have updated the software, but that did not help.

please let me know if you have found a fix / soution
email me at [email protected] or just reply, any help would be great

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • When charged up I touch will not turn off with on off button

When charged up my I touch will not turn off using the on/off button, can use the home button but I touch stays on & drains the battery.

To turn the the iPod off you have to press and hold the On/Off button until the power off slider appears (about 5 seconds). Are you doing that?

    Hello Dennisom,
The troubleshooting detailed below can help get your iPod Touch to charge.
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
    Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge until your device turns on. This could take between 10 and 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue persists, please contact Apple Support.

  • My iphone will not power off

My Iphone 4s will not power off and the battery is draining with a couple of hours ? Help please

Try an iPhone reset first which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release. This is similar to a computer restart.
Try powering the iPhone off again after doing so.

  • IPhone Will Not Power Off or Go Into Silent Mode

Yesterday I discovered that I had my phone switch flipped to Silent Mode, and my phone was still making the General Sounds and Still Ringing. No matter what I do I can't get it to Vibrate instead of ring.
Also it will not power off, no matter how long I hold the button nothing happens, it wont even lock. I tried performing a hard rest by holding the Home Key & Power Button, but instead of reseting the Voice Control pops up and my iPod starts playing.
Any Help Is Greatly Appreciated ♥

    - Try another cable.
    - Try on another computer
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My iPhone will not power off. It automatically turns back on after trying to shut it off. Any Ideas?

My iPhone 5 will not power off. I hold the power button down and it lets me turn it off but then it automatically turns back on. It is as if I am just restarting it. Any ideas on how to fix it? I already had it exchanged and the replacement is now doing it.

I had this same problem about a year ago. It is most likely because debris has been caught in the cable connector. Get a cotton bud or something soft so that you don't cause any damage, and gently clean the inside of the dock connector of your phone. Do not use any liquids. Hope this helps.

  • HT1349 Phone will not power off or take picture

My iPhone will not power off.

Try to reset it: hold the on/off and home buttons until you see the Apple logo (ignoring the off slider that appears first), then release.  If it won't reset just let the battery run down until it turns off, then recharge it.

  • My iPad will not power off

I have a 32GB iPad 1st Gen. It sits with a pinwheel rotating, but will not power off. When I tried connecting it to iTunes, it says there is an unknown problem connecting this iPad. What Can I do?

I'm sure you've tried the hard reset using the home and power button?  If that won't work, next check your cables.  If you own a iPod, or iPhone and have mixed up the sync cables, that can sometimes cause an issue depending on how old they are.  If that doesn't work, I'd try a different computer with iTunes on it, if you have it, or a buddy to see if it recognized then.
Let us know how it goes.
