Cost center validity change and assign it to new company code

Hello
We are having 10 Cost centers  in 1000 Company code, And validity of these cost centers is .01.01.2001 to 31.12.9999.
Now business want to create one more company code 2000. and wants to extend these same cost centers to 2000 company code also. But as per SAP std Cost center extention is not possible , bcz cost center can use by only one company code.
Now Company is saying that..they wants the same number for new company code from 23.09.2010 to 31.12.9999..
system is not allow me to change validity period of these cost centers, bcz  these saying that the cost center is already defined for given period.
Beacuse new company code will start working from 24.09.2010. so i,e the reason , we want to make example "2561 cost center  validity 01.01.2001 to 22.09.2010 for company code 1000. then after words 23.09.2010 to 31.12.9999 the same cost center 2561 will for 2000 company code.
but system is not allowing me to change the validity
Regards
Mahesh

Hi Mangesh
What you wish is not possible.. You will have to create new cost center and assign to the new company code...
may be for simplicity sake, you can add a prefix or suffix to the existing cost center no i.e Cost Ctr 2356 can become N2356 in new comp code

    Hi Gurus,
We have few company codes created out them 2 company codes closing due to client req, So we have so many transaction in those two company codes, scenario is to transfer all balances to new company codes.
Please help me to how to proceed what is the right way of doing.
    Thanks,
    Sree

You can use the transaction F-04 to transfer the balance from one company code to another..
You can use LSMW for the t-code F-04 - Post with Clearing.
On the selection screen you have to give the new company code and at the time of choosing line item you have to give old company code..
After the all balances transferred, you can block the old company code..

  • Copying  new company code and G/L's-how to put in Quality server?

    Hi
We have existing system and we are creating new company code by copying from existing company code along with G/L accounts using --Copy/edit/delete company code action.
Once this is done in Development server how do we transport this in to Quality and production servers?
Is basis help required or as a functional consultant I can do if so how?
    regards

    Hello,
    Through STMS you can import.
However, there should clear segregation of duties. I would expect a basis consultant should do the imports into QA or production or a centralized team.

  • Change Cost center valid date

    Hi, Export,
Can we change the cost center valid date from 2007.10.01 to 2007.08.01? If it can change, Pls tell me how to change it.Thanks.
    best regards
    Park Han

Well, it's a little late to reply to the original question, but I found this thread while trying to figure out how to do the same thing myself and thought I would update it with the answer in case anyone else stumbles across this thread while searching as I did.
You can actually make a change in the valid from date by using a KS01 Create Cost Center transaction and referencing the original cost center to create the additional period you want to add.
In this case in KS01 you would fill out the fields in this manner:
Cost Center: Existing Cost Center to be changed, let's say 1000
    Valid From 2007.08.01
    Valid to: 2007.09.30
    Reference Cost Center: 1000
Controlling Area: Whatever the controlling area is
In effect, rather than changing the cost center, you are creating the extra time period from the new from date to the original from date and referencing it to the cost center.
The end result for us was that KS03 shows the cost center with the new from date and the old to date, which was the change we wanted.
Not quite as obvious as a change, but it worked for us.

  • Change Cost Center Valid To Date

    Hi,
I want to change cost center valid To date. Please let me know which t code I use for that. Thanks in advance.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Hemant Maurya

    Hi,
You can change cost cener validity by creating new cost center through t.code KS01 with reference to same cost center.
Ex. suppose you have created cost center 5009000000 from 01.07.2005 to 30.06.2006. Now you want the same cost center to be created from 01.07.2006 to 31.12.2009.
So, Go to KS01 and put this CC code and Valid From to To Date as 01.07.2006 to 31.12.2009. Also put same CC code with CO area in reference. The same CC will be created with all required information. Also If profit center is required field in your CC, then first of all you need to extend your profit center through KE52 t.code.
Pls get back for further query.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Change Cost Center Validity

    Hi evryone,
Please can u tell me is there any way out to change the cost center validity in such  a scenario
Cost center XXXXXXX is valid presently valid from  01.04.2011 to 31.03.2020
but it has to be changed to 01.04.2011  to 30.04.2011
    awaiting replies.

    Hi..
Try KS02 > Edit > Analysis period > Other Analysis period (Bottom Left) change the period.
One thing I overlooked that you want to change upto 30.04.11 which is a past date. I doubt whether it is possible or not. In the above procedure you just add some new word in basic name and save, You will get two line for same cost centre. In controll block all transaction for period which is not required and keep open the other period.

    Hi
Someone added same kind of stuff in the net
We have done the following to display GL account text in ME51N & ME21N
We registered the SAP Object: R3TR FUGR MEACCTVI for our SAP Release: 701.
    - In SE51, we added the field text_sakto to screen 1100 (Single Account Assignment) in program SAPLMEACCTVI.
    - Via SE80, we added the following code to the flow logic of screen 1100 under PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT: MODULE fill_text_sakto in the function group MEACCTVI.
    - Within the MODULE fill_text_sakto we added the following code:
    FORM FILL_TEXT_SAKTO .
    SELECT SINGLE txt20 INTO text_sakto

  • Cost Center in MIRO and MIGO

    Hi All,
    1) A PO is created with one line item on cost center 10010.
    2) Discount condition of 10% is used in CONDITIONS
    3) On doing MIGO, material is charged on 10010 while discount line item is charged on 10020 as defined in OKB9
    4) On doing MIRO, both material and discount line is charged on 10010
Is there's something missing in MIRO as discount line should be charged to 10020 rather on 10010?
Looking forward to resolve this issue.
    Warm Regards,
    Nayab

    Hi Raghavendra,
    Thanks for your response.
    As per the configuration,
I have a PO of Single Item.
In Item Details I have used Cost Element 900102 & Cost Center 10020 in Account Assignment Tab and
Condition of 10% discount is used in Conditions Tab.
When I do MIGO, I get the following entries
Expense Account   900102 agains cost center 10020
Discount Account   900106 against cose center 10055
    GR/IR Account 400203
Cost center 10055 is derived as cost element 900106 is assigned this cost center in KA03 as well as OKB9
When I do MIRO, following entries are the result
    Vendor Account 55252
    Gr/IR Account 400203
Discount Account 900106 against cost center 10020
This cost center should be same as in MIGO due to configuration in Master Data (Txn KS03)
or cost center in MIGO should be same as in MIRO (i.e. derived from the PO)
If I put no cost center in KS03 (master data) or OKB9 against 900106 cost element, it prompts to assign CO to this account while doing MIGO.
Looking foward for assistance in resolving this issue.
    Warm Regards,
    Nayab

  • Cost center validation while creating PO

    Hi,
How can we put a cost center validation in PO.
we are experiencing issues with PO's created for a different company code at the time of posting invoices.
how can we put a check while creating a PO to validate the cost center.
Can we put a check on User authorization to input only come cost centers at the time of PO creation?
Highly appreciate your thoughts as it is very important.
    Thanks
    Madhu

    Hey Madhu,
I believe certain error messages have been deactivated in you system, as the cost center master data wouldd have a company code in it and it is supposed to validate it.
go to OBA5 and enter application are KI and activate message 113 to an error
KI113 would not allow you to purchase across company codes

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the other ID.  When you delete the account it will prompt you about what to do with the iCloud data.  If you need to migrate it and merge it with the data in the new account choose Keep on My iDevice; then choose Merge to upload the data and merge it with the new account.  If your data is already in the other account and you don't need to migrate it to the other account, choose Delete from My iDevice.

  • The CO account assignment object belongs to company code PN10, not BN10

Hi All, Iu2019m getting the error u201CThe CO account assignment object belongs to company code PN10, not BN10" when trying to make a payment on an invoice that was created in company code BN10.
The error came about because, there was an exchange rate difference between the invoice value and the corresponding payment value (document currency is USD and the transaction I'm using to make payment is F-58).
Therefore when i try to make the payment, the SAP system detects the exchange rate difference and attempts to post it to the exchange rate difference account (421020050). In OKB9, the default cost center specified for G/L account (421020050) in BN10 is (B999010). Therefore when the payment is been done, the system posts the exchange rate difference to G/L account (421020050) and assigns the cost center (B999010).
However, upon trying to save the document, the system shows the message "Correct the marked line items" (the marked line item here is the exchange rate line item). Therefore, I double click the line item to drill down on it and see that everything seems fine. I then click the save button, on clicking it, the system shows the error "The CO account assignment object belongs to company code PN10, not BN10u201D.
When i double click the error to read a more comprehensive explanation of the error, its content are as displayed below:
The CO account assignment object belongs to company code PN10, not BN10
    Message no. KI100
    Diagnosis
You want to make a posting in company code BN10.
At the same time, a CO account assignment object was specified that is assigned to company code PN10.
This is account assignment object with object type CTR, and object key NIG1/A999010.
    System Response
Company code validation is active for company code BN10:
All account assignment objects in one posting row must be assigned to the same company code.
    Procedure
    You can
u2022     Make an assignment to company code PN10.
u2022     Enter an account assignment object assigned to company code BN10.
u2022     Change the assignment of object NIG1/A999010 to company code PN10. In this case, you should note the document and edit it further after changing the assignment.
If the posting is to a balance sheet account (category 90), you may also decide whether to allow CO account assignment objects from other company codes. If this is the case, deactivate the error message with the IMG step Change message control (message ID "KI", message number 100).
You can set the following message types:
    "-"   Message is not sent
"W"   Message is sent as a warning message
"E"   Message is sent as an error message
Posting to cost elements of another category always results in the message appearing as an error message, whether it has been deactivated or not.
    Execute "Change message control"
(NOTE: All cost centers that starts with u201CAu201D belong to company code PN10 and those that starts with u201CBu201D belong to company code BN10)
Kindly help with the resolution of this issue. Any resolution ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Moderator: I trust, SAP explanation is quite sufficient

    Hi Satvir
You have switched on Comp Code validation in OKKP... which means you can not post to CO objects of another company code...
Eg: If billing is from comp code A, the co object has to be from same comp code.... Try to use OKB9 and specify a default CO object for the GL account involved in the posting or specify a default Cost center in OVF3 pertainig to the other comp code

  • The CO account assignment object belongs to company code 2100, not 1100

    Hi All,
My system has all different company codes assigned to one cotrolling area as a result one can change org unit and position cost center from one company code to another.
I recently changed same position's cost center from co code 2000 to cost center in new  co code 1100 and created new personnel area to be linked to new Co code 1100. OM module doesn't moan however when I try and capture org-reassignment action to default same employee postion with new related cost center from new company code 1100 get the follwing error.
'The CO account assignment object belongs to company code 2100, not 1100'.
I see in IT0001 system defaults new personnel area linked to Co code 1100 however it still defaults old cost center linked to Co code 2000 instead of new cost center linked to Co code1100. How can I make the system default  new cost center?
NB relationship for new cost center  from Co code 1100 to postion has been changed effective 01.04.2012 . The same date is used for or-reassignment action.

Hi I had same problem can you explain me little bit more that how you will resolve this

  • "Account Assignment objects have differing company codes"

    Hi,
We have parked the document through T.Code : MIR7 & now we want to post the same using the correct GL A/c.
When we try to post the document we are getting error like "Account Assignment Objects have differing Company Codes"
    Can you please help me
    Thanks
    Ravi kumar

Please check in the document if it contains diferrent account assignments like both cost center and internal order. In this case both cost center and order must belong to same company code.
If you find the document fine, then solution is to change the error to warning using T Code OBA5 and application area KI (I assume). You should be seeing application area as part of your error message number which is usually first 2 characters.

  • How to get new company code and controlling area in SRM

    Hi SDN,
    we are on SRM 5.0.
Our finacial experts want to implement a new company code and controlling area.
In SRM I can set up a new company code easily in ppoma_bbp and import a new plant from backend for the new company code.
When testing in EBP I get the error: "company code xyz not available in controlling area zzz"
So I need to import the new backend controlling area, too. How can I get the second controlling area in SRM?
    Thanx for help,
    matthias

    Hi Muthuraman Govi  and Sanjeev,
in fact I can see in backend in transaction KS03 (show cost center) there in the F4s, which comp.code + controll area combinations are valid and have indeed cost centers assigned.
    So I have a new valid comp.code and a new valid cont.area.
The new comp.code belongs to the new contr. area.
In SRM I set the BUK attribute as described by Sanjeev (I had that already done). Still, if it is like you say, why do I get an error in EBP when trying to buy products from the new plant in the new company code...
Is there any more config.work necessary in backend or SRM?
    kind regards, matthias
