Cost element description now showing in Report painter

Hi,
I selected to display KEY and DESCRIPTION in the report layout settings for a report painter however the report is displaying only the cost element number and not the description in the rows.
In this case, how to display the cost element description in the report painter rows?

Hi,
ensure that KEY + DESCRIPTION is selected in the layout settings. Description will only appear if it is maintained in the logon-language (means if your logon language is EN but cost element texts are not maintained in EN no descripiton can be seen).

You can use SARP for display mode
Tree PCA1
In the first coloumn (number and description) instead of cost element description, cost element number appears again like this:
600000 006000000 (wrong)
600000 Sales Income (correct)
Choose report:
ZPCA0002 P&L A3 group and the choose Report Group P&L (ZPCA0003)
During execution of report ZPCA0003 (library -8A2, Report Group ZPC2), cost center description is not appearing instead same cost element number is appearing.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Hi,
ZPCA0002 is not a standard report.
When you report writer (painter) you can define what you see in the collumn
Offen it is possible to when you run the report and change by the menu path the settings from the report

GL Account and Cost Element Description

Does it make good sense that GL account description is 50 char while Cost element description is 40 char?

Yes SAP standard is set G/L Account Long Text length is 50 char and Cost element description is 40 char. Something like doesn't make a good sense but truely it's SAP standard. : )

when you plan with trx. 7KE5, activity will be PCAK.
Report group 8A80 should show the figures correctly. When I plan with 7KE5 and afterwards run the report, the activities PCAK and RKP4 are shown.
Maybe your report is not correct. You should import report group 8A80 from client 000 with trx. GR59. Afterwards you have regenerate the report group. Does the report afterwards show the figures?
Have you checked with trx. 2KEE or KE5Y if the values are shown there?
In case it is not shown in 2KEE and KE5Y - have you saved the planned values?

Hi, I have a problem with the report painter, because i am run the report but i realize that if the master data(Commitment item ) is not created for the next year example 2008 and I am running the report for the year 2007, when the report is generated the report does not show the description of the commitment item ...

Combination of cost center and GL account in Report painter report

Hi Guys,
Im creating a report for profit centers using library 0FL- which uses table FAGLFLEXT in the report painter GRR2.I need to enter cost center with gl accounts in the characteristics.as these cost centers
are assigned with cost elements.Can I do that ? cuz when I enter combination of gl a/c and cost center,I wobn't get nay data but only gl accounts shows the correct data.How to use combination of cost center and gl a/c, or I am good only with gl a/cs.Please suggest.

Just check the G/L account assigned in the PO against the cost center, The G/L account assigned may not be the correct one, Check out if any validation is there for the combination, contact your FI-CO guy as there are always restrictions unknown to a MM guy.

Mass update of cost element description - edit a table

Hi Folks,
i would like to know wich is the best way to update thousand of description of cost element!
this is due to the fact that i have 4 differents languages to manage....so every time it's necessary to enter them in 4 languages, but the problem was that nobody have done like this, so now i have discrepancy at description level and i want to update...quickly.
i was thinking about table editing in CSKA i know it's not the right way to procede but it's only description and i don't want to spent time in making catt....
In any case i would know wich is the command to edit a table, for my knowledge.

To edit a table type &sap_edit in the transaction window, while being in SE16N and entering the table. However, the right table for texts is CSKU and not CSKA.
Alternatively, you can do mass creation of cost elements 4 times while log-on in different table (OKB2 and OKB3 transactions).

No data found due to cost element adding leading values in report

Hi Experts,
I have an issue where when the run the analyser with some values in variable screen it is displaying the output correctly in analyser tool. I am filtering the cost element with a single value for ex 4545000 and I have kept that in rows . Still the report is working fine. But then when I go back to variable screen and change the input for ex instead of period 3 if I change it to 4 , output is null since the cost element is adding leading values to the existing value in the filter and displaying no result. for ex 4545000 is getting added with controlling area 0050 and its searching for 00500004545000 and since this is not the cost element value its not displaying output..
Any ideas how to rectify this or is it a analyser tool issue..

Excel export options now showing in report viewer

I'm workin on a project and I'm having some problems when exporting to excel using crytal reports server XI. When i try to export to excel, first the excel export options is not showing. Second, when I export to excel, the columns are correctly align. it's like exported all over the place. Please help

Excel export options are not shown when exporting from the viewer in .NET. You will need to set up the excel export options like you want them to be in the designer first under File|Export|Report Export Options.

Report Painter Report - Leading White Spaces in Cost Element

When calling up a report painter report, e.g. S_ALR_87013613, with cost element characteristic in Office integration/Microsoft Excel as output parameters, the cost element (row item) is indented with white spaces. The number of white spaces seems to be in relation with summation levels (sub-totals) visible in the left panel. For some cost centres that only have limited transactions, such as no posting to salary account group, there are less levels of summation, meaning less leading white space in cost elements. Is there any way to eliminate or have a fixed number of leading white spaces in cost elements?
We export the report to Excel worksheet for further processing. VLOOKUP function is used to read the cost element into another workbook. The inconsistent number of leading white spaces creates a problem for the formulas to work properly.
Any suggestion is appreciated.

There are different ways of downloading the report to excel. One option is
System ==> List ==> save (to local file)
Please try with other options.
If still not working, then the work around would be
You can put ctrl+H (replace all spaces)
Then text to columns

GR55 - report generates no data for some of the cost elements

When executing GR55 for Monthly cost center analysis (target currency), the report generated has values for all the cost elements in the report. However, few cost elements do not show amounts. The amount columns show a ××××.
Please suggest on why the system is not displaying the values only for few cost elements when running GR55 for report group CCPA (Cost center Actual vs Plan).

Dear Neeta,
Every customized report generated in Report painter will have a base as Form, were you do your customizing to get the report.
So might be in some places the value key figure would have not properly customized.
Check the report in T.Code GRR3 and see the places where you get XXXX.

i did all the things. its working fine also. now they r asking me to add some coloums
which are from COSP-KSTAR this is cost element.
i need to ristrict perticular cost element according to the company code and fiscal year.
i don't know how we can take the cost elements and how to pass them.

so , write a select query to table cosp in to it_cospt internal table .
where condition
WRTTP
VERSN
GJAHR .
the above should hard coded the data by asking the Function consultant like version & value type .,
then loop at your final internal table .
read table of it_cospt where gjahr = gjahr
IF final-KOSTL CA it_cospt-OBJNR . for Costcenter validate
because it stores the Costcenter only in the COSP-OBJNR , IF you check table data in BSEG and COSP , even AUFNR ( Internal order ) also to the same field . so that the cost center gets validated in the if condition , for your information if they ask you costelement then it include internal order also if you want ask question to you FI consultant about cost center and Internal order difference ***************
move all your fresh data to your new internal table your it_cospt-KSTAR data also.
append new internal table .
Elseif final-AUFNR CA it_cospt-OBJNR . for INTERNAL ORDER validate
b]move all your fresh data to your new internal table your it_cospt-KSTAR data also.
append new internal table .
ENDIF

so that your new internal table will have all data including cost element also .
now after this , loop you new internal table
