Why is it that all things Adobe cost so much more in Australia than in the US?, apart from the obvious - that we have no choice but to pay the extra since we can't purchase the much cheaper US alternative.

Sync with Online calendars

I use a number of online calendar applications.
Primarily Google Calendar, and Remember the Milk.
What I'd like to do, is synchronize with these services without having to go online (the online costs in Australia are insane).
Right now, when I put my phone (6500 slide) next to my PC, it syncs via Bluetooth to Vista (contacts and calendar). The Vista calendar also syncs to Google Calendar, and Remember the Milk.
However the Nokia PC Sync software does not let me select these calendars, is there a workaround for this? It only needs to sync from the PC to the Phone, I can update both of these services via SMS.

What version of BlackBerry Link are you currently using? Click on the gear wheel and it will appear on the left side.
I would suggest following the steps in this KB article to find out if a seperate calendar is set as default for synchronization (which can cause synchronization issues): www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB34535

U.S. IRS Form W-7 ITIN Application

I am an Australian Self Publisher www.nixonspublishing.id.au currently selling both ebook and printed books in the www.blurb.com bookstore. Like many others who have invested a lot of time and money in that magic application iBooks Author I wish to avail myself of publishing in the iBookstore. Even though Apple carry on business in Australia and deal in this market in value I am still required to have an ITIN in order to register for this service. My guess is that is because I might sell something to a US citizen [thats a novel ideal]. It should be noted there is no such requirement in dealing with blurb I guess that is because they to have an Australian presence and are carrying on business in this part of the World.
My application has just been rejected by the IRIS because I answered question 'a[x]' in the affirmative ' Nonresident alien required to get ITIN to claim tax treaty benefit' and failed to provide the correction information in relation to question h[ ] which requires me to state the 'Exception I am entitled to claim' and the 'treaty article number' that applies to that detail. Given that I did engross the treaty in the first place which just happened to be signed by Ronald Reagan for the US and John Howard for Australia I am not quite sure what the finer details of this Tax Treaty as applied by the IRS actually entail.
The detail for the inexperienced which on the face of it appears to be quite a trivial matter appears to be cloaked in a volume of documentation that you probably could not jump over. The finer points as to what is required are not known to the Australian Tax Office [who actually benefit from this treaty], The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs [who probably negiotated the treaty] and Trade the US Consulate [Canberra] or Business Services [Sydney] if fact I have been told that the closest IRA representative which conducts business and can answer questions in our time zone is in China. Unfortunately several phone calls at considerable expense have failed to make a connection or get a response I guess the IRS representative is to busy with the Chinese or perhaps is subject to rotation which apparently happens in US Government circles at this time of the year.
Now I could take the risk and submit again but that might mean another rejection which based on the last application was a waste of 6 weeks. Alternatively I could get up at 4am Australian time and actually ring the processor of my original application but unfortunately I am not an early riser.
My guess is that someone out there probably an Australia has already been put though the jump and hopefully prepared to share with me the magic associated with form W-7.
Oh and for our US cousins the cost in Australia to have a single page A4 document apostilised is $60.00 which actual pales in significance when compared to the cost to get to the Department duly authorised to perform these notary services. And more importantly I am not encouraged to commit an offense by sending them my origional Australian Drivers licence not unless I am not planning to drive for 6-10 weeks.

Not so. I'm in Australia, I'm registered with Apple with an EIN, and everything is just fine. The royalty payments are arriving on schedule.

I don't know where you got this info from, but I don't believe it is correct. As a publisher, I registered with Apple under my company name, and I got an EIN for my company in ten minutes over the phone, no problem.

Not really Badly Broken iPod Touch 5th Gen Pink 32GB

So i've got an iPod Touch 5th Gen Pink 32GB, No Warranty and it was damaged not really badly, It has a Dent backing near camera, Screen not working but it opened when it drops. So what should i do? does Apple will give you a refurbished one or something? and how much will it cost in Australia?

Accidential damage is not covered under warranty. Apple will still replace your iPod (with a refurbished one) but you will have to pay for it.

Iphone4 battery replacement

Does anybody know how much it costs in Australia? My iphone4 battery life which is probably my fault as I know I haven't recharged it like I should, but now am having major problems with life and I love my apple and rely on my phone.

How long have you had the phone? Usually a battery replacement will be covered under your original warranty and they will most often replace the whole unit.

Apple do not take trade-ins against new phones. Your iPhone 5 will cost whatever the retail price is in Australia. Contact Apple for pricing of a new back, or better (if you are within range) make an appointment with a genius at an Apple Store.

You can see the American retail prices on the Apple website. If you look at 3G, make sure not to get the Verizon model, as it won't work outside of the US.
Otherwise, sales taxes are different from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, so you'll have to Google to find out the local sales tax in Brea as well as the California state sales tax.

Cost of iPods in Australia

Can anyone tell me why there is such a large difference between the price of an iPod in the US and Australia. The Aust$ is close to parity with the US$ and yet the difference in price is quite substatial, what gives Apple?

Because prices are not determined by the immediate exchange rate. If that was so the price would change every day. When a company wants to sell a product in another country/currency they have to ensure the sale can still be profitable when the exchange rate changes. The company will include a margin in the price to do so.
As the value of the Australia dollar increases against the US dollar the price of goods in the USA become more attractive. If the exchange rate becomes stable for some time then prices will adjust. But right now we just have to live with it.
