Cost of Clusterware software

Hi,
I would like to know the cost of Clusterware software for windows and HP-UX both. and addtional softwares require. Better you can provide node wise price listing.
What would be cost of Oracle 10g Enterprise adition with all component required for cluster.
Thanks,
Naman Patel.

Check this out to see if this provides the information you are looking for http://www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/pricelists.html
As such, it will not be possible for anyone to provide licensing estimates other than the Oracle Sales, since the licensing costs and discounts vary depending on the volume and the company procuring it...

  • What is the cost of ASDM software???

Plz any one tell me the cost of ASDM software ,I need to install in ASA 5510 software

    Hi Bro
The ASDM software is free. You don't need a SMARTNET contract for this, as this involves cost. Just get the ASDM files either directly from the Cisco website (create your own guest account) or from the vendor that you bought the Cisco ASA FW from.

  • O/S clusterware software.

    Hi,
When we configure Oracle RAC on let say IBM AIX,
Is it necessary to install IBM HACMP or we can build cluster without installing this and directly install Oracle clusterware?
    Thanks.

There are many posts in this forum on the same question...here is an example:
Re: Is clusterware compulsory for RAC?
to answer your question....HACMP is not required to install oracle clusterware software. Third party vendor clusterware is completely optional.

One time fee... however realize it is a discontinued product that Cisco has abandoned.

  • Library software cost

    Greetings,
Seriously speaking, I am a beginner and I have made a library software frontend using the java language, I have only made the codes. Well, I wish to get it into a CD, so that I can sell it, containing all the datas required for the proper functioning.
Well, as I know that my java program needs the JAVA environment, and I have made a short cut and the .exe file using a program called Javaexe. So If I do that then I will have to include the JRE in the CD too.
Please let me know the standard way of how java softwares are made into the CD for sale.
    Thank you.

I also would like to know how much this software could cost, my library software has the features of
Searching the book name, content, author, it has modify options, its a general software, having database till 55 fields containg all minute details of the book, cd, magazine.... It shows statistics of the library, it's settings like library name, password, periods kept, picture officers in charge can be chenged.
It has password protection, a good interface thats easy to use, it also shows remarks of each item, you can also view the whole database as it is in a JTable. Well, it uses Microsoft Access as the backend database.
So what do you think a software of such features may cost?
    Thank you.

  • Can I give a software gift by using a firend's computer and paying with my AppleID?

I have a simple problem.  I want to log in to the App Store on my friend's computer with my AppleID, then purchase and download some software as a gift.  I don't want to download it for free, as it's not my computer.  How do I accomlish this?

It is a bad idea. Any software you download onto your friend's computer with your Apple ID is still your software, registered to your Apple ID, not a gift. Your software on your friend's computer would be pirated software, as the Licensed Copy End User License Agreement does not allow you to give your software to your friend. And you would have to authorize your friend's computer to use your software. If for any reason he had to reformat his Mac, he would use your authorization to use your pirated software on his Mac.
The best way to give him software is to physically buy him an iTunes Gift Card that covers the cost of the software and then he could redeem the gift card with his Apple ID, buy the software and it would be registered to his Apple ID. You can also go online with the iTunes app and do the same in the form of an electronic iTunes gift certificate. This way nothing is pirated.

  • UK pricing of Adobe Software a rip off compared to US... Why?

I'm an existing Adobe customer and own Lightroom 2 which I upgraded to Version 3 and Photoshop CS4 Extended which I want to update to CS5 Extended.
I was on Adobe.com (via the help button in Photoshop) and noticed on the right of the page upgrade to CS5 Extended from $199. So, I went through and selected from CS4 Extended to CS5 Extended and with the current offers go a final price + shipping of $285.15 which is £183.02.
I tried but, I couldn't complete the order, so I logged onto Adobe.com/uk and created the same order but the price is almost Double the US price (was £183.02) at £333.60. Why is the same product almost double the price in the UK vs US?
I totally understand that there maybe a slight currency translation adjustment and additional shipping cost (although the product is very light anyway).
I spoke to someone ad Adobe via the live chat and was told (text taken from the actual chat).
Although Adobe Europe and Adobe US are different parts of the same global company, European Marketing strategies and pricing are not directly related to those used for the US.
I truly understand your concern regarding the price being more in UK as compared to US conversion, however, there are many factors that decide pricing like 'the cost of doing business in each country' and the 'difference in the perceived value of the product'.
We want to make sure that we are giving our Customers the best products and at the right price.
We're sure that the Adobe products add value by helping you get the desired output at ease, efficiency and speed.
Come on, the US and UK product is 100% identical and why would charging almost double the price be 'the right price' for the consumer?
I'm very unhappy about this, and believe it's yet another classic case of overcharging the UK customer.

    Marian Driscoll wrote:
these types of discussions only demonstrate the desire for Adobe software. It only strengthens Adobe to realize that people passionately want Adobe software.
You may be right, but I don't think so
A much stronger message can be sent by ignoring Adobe. If we do not like the price. Do not pay it. The "classic case" is that a vendor will drop prices when it finds that nobody wants to pay so much.
This can (and might) happen simultaneously along with all the griping.  Many people may just decide to keep using their old versions, especially since they can't upgrade from versions older than CS5.  At least the griping will tell Adobe WHY they aren't buying.
To add to the reasons explained in post #3...
    3. There may be a greater cost to market in different countries
    4. There may be a greater cost legally defend software licenses/patents in different countries
As pointed out by many other people, not all software companies make such a large difference in what they charge their customers, though the challenges are the same.  I personally tend to believe the explanations given by the customer support representative regarding perceived value of the product (translation: charge the most that people are willing to pay) and the separate marketing strategies for the US and international.

  • How much does a logic board cost?

So apparently my logic board needs to be replaced. I have the apple protection care package, but was told that if I have any liquid spilt on my logic board that I would have to paid to get it fixed. I was just wondering how much one cost, and if my laptop has a blue tint on it would the damage have came from a drink being spilt on it? I read somewhere it tints the computer blue if the computer gets too hot.

Usually if you have to pay for a new logicboard, you might as well buy a new machine because basically the whole computer is the logicboard.
I've done some thinking about if it's worth it or not to get your machine fixed and have come ot this sort of rough forumla.
A Mac has a life expectancy of about 4 years
One needs to determine where along their life expancy their machine is.
Then divide the investment into the machine, including the cost of new software that won't work on the new OS, by the 4 years, then from that determine if it's worth it to spend the money to get the remaining life out of it or to sell it once fixed and come out ahead.
If a machine is just out of the 1 year warranty, no AppleCare, costs $4000 originally, then it might be cost feasible to pay another $700 to get the $3000 due on it. Sell it used for $3500 say and the burn is only $200 (4700-3500 - one year use $1000 = $200)
Usually third party software a mere year old the developer won't have a paid upgrade, but then again with Appel issuing new OS X versions left and right they may, depending upon how much you pay for third party software and what the upgrade price is also is a factor..

  • Clean Up Software For Mac.

Over a period of time I have added software to my Mac and deleted some.
Inevitably there are programmes on my computer which I never use and odd bits and bobs hanging in there which are parts of removed software which got left behind.
Is there a really easy to use programme out there which will trawl through my Mac and recommend the items which need to be removed?
    Preferably free or low cost!

    Uninstalling Software: The Basics
Most OS X applications are completely self-contained "packages" that can be uninstalled by simply dragging the application to the Trash. Most applications create preference files which are stored in the /Home/Library/Preferences/ folder. Although they do nothing once you delete the associated application, they do take up some disk space. If you want you can located them in the above location and delete them, too.
Some applications may install an uninstaller program that can be used to remove the application. In some cases the uninstaller may be part of the application's installer, and is invoked by clicking on a Customize button that will appear during the install process.
Some applications may install components in the /Home/Library/Applications Support/ folder. You can also check there to see if the application has created a folder. You can also delete the folder that's in the Applications Support folder. Again, they don't do anything but take up disk space once the application is trashed.
Some applications may install a startupitem or a Log In item. Startupitems are usually installed in the /Library/StartupItems/ folder and less often in the /Home/Library/StartupItems/ folder. Log In Items are set in the Accounts preferences. Open System Preferences, click on the Accounts icon, then click on the LogIn Items tab. Locate the item in the list for the application you want to remove and click on the "-" button to delete it from the list.
If an application installs any other files the best way to track them down is to do a Finder search using the application name or the developer name as the search term.
There are also several shareware utilities that can uninstall applications:
    AppZapper
    CleanApp
    Yank
    SuperPop
    Uninstaller
    Spring Cleaning
Look for them at www.versiontracker.com or www.mackupdate.com.

Is possible install 2 Clusterware Software on same host, but you can have one Clusterware configured/active a time.
Why you want 2 Cluster on same host? I've never seen a host configured with two cluster configured.
The cluster is a set of host working as single host, so the software cluster manage and control the hosts, if you have 2 cluster on same host the both software cluster will have concurrency disputing who manages the host and this must not occur.

  • Call Accounting Software for CUCM

    Hey,
Hey my company formerly used RSI Accounting solution with our CUCM Version 9 system, but we are looking to explore alternative third party solutions. The new call accounting software should be:
1)A Cisco Certified Developer Partner or Preferred Solution
    2) Compatible with all versions of CUCM( 7x-10x)
    3) Has ability to generate rich informative summary call cost reports
    4) We have multiple phone carriers and we need the software to be able to customize the call tariff rates to mirror as close as possible our local tariffs to be able to have accurate call costing
    5) The software provider must have good technical support in case of problems during installation or normal operation.
    6) send email alerts if any user is abusing company phone calls and be able to identify toll fraud events or prank calling
Can anyone suggest any Cisco Partner party who satisfies the above criteria. I would appreciate any feedback.Thanks.

    hi
by the way, i am following Part Number B14207-01. Oracle® Database Oracle Clusterware and Oracle Real
    Application Clusters Installation Guide
    10g Release 2 (10.2) for Microsoft Windows
i am upto section 4 Installing Oracle Clusterware on Windows-Based Systems.
this is where i did as stated, Using Oracle Universal Installer to Install Oracle Clusterware on Windows
then at step 9, When you click Finish, the OUI installs the OCFS and Oracle Clusterware software on the local node and
validates the installation again. The OUI will also create any required OCFS
file systems. After validating the installation, the OUI completes the Oracle
Clusterware software installation and configuration on the remote nodes.
this is where the configuration assistant fails, with the :
Output generated from configuration assistant "Virtual Private IP Configuration Assistant":
    Command = C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd /c call c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs/bin/vipca.bat
    -silent -nodelist "whdc-wms-srv-1,whdc-wms-srv-2" -nodevips
    "whdc-wms-srv-1/whdc-wms-srv-1-vip/255.255.255.0/public 180.120.1.126|public
    180.120.1.126,whdc-wms-srv-2/whdc-wms-srv-2-vip/255.255.255.0/public
    180.120.1.126|public 180.120.1.126"
Configuration assistant "Virtual Private IP Configuration Assistant" failed
, and then when you try to vipca.bat manually, you get :
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs\BIN>vipca
    Exception in thread "main"
    04-MAY-07 07:49:19 : CHANGES MADE VIA MetaLink
NOT YET FORWARDED TO OUR INTERNAL SYSTEMS :

    hi xxxxxx
also noted that even after the 1st attempt to install clusterware the path is as follows :
    PATH=C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem
not sure when there is no change to the path as a result of the oracle install, as there is a JRE and jlib folder under the oracle home : C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\crs\jlib

1st question is you have contradictory statements in your tar. 1) you say no vendor clusterware and the you say you have windows 2003 clusterware installed and configured.
    Why are you installing both?
Although I don;t think that is the problem here, I wonder why anyone would want to run 2 independent cluster software on same servers.
Now the output from the installer has whdc-wms-srv-2-vip output from cluvfy shows suitable interface as whdc-wms-srv-1 HEARTBEAT 10.10.10.11:10.10.10.10
    whdc-wms-srv-2 HEARTBEAT 10.10.10.11:10.10.10.11
whdc-wms-srv-2-vip what you entered to installer does not match what is available!

  • Got an e-mail from Apple Software Customer Seeding about testing software-is it for real?

I recently received an email about testing pre-release software from Apple Software Customer Seeding.
It's asking me to log in with my ID and accept a confidentiality agreement.  Is this a scam?

Actually, I was surprised to find this email in my inbox this morning, on a US holiday, sent from the Pacific Time Zone at 7 a.m.!
I don't even have Lion installed, so the only reason I can think they are interested in my opinion was due to my public criticism of Lion and the cost of upgrading software (over $5000 in my case, being in the print and design industry) just to take advantage of the iOS-flavored features.
Suspicious of its offer, I viewed the email in "Source" (yes, I still use the much-stable Office 2004 with Entourage) and was able to see "who" really sent the email (someone with ties with Apple, but based on her Facebook profile, I think she's an outsource ... Quiltmaking seems to be her thing!)....
Then I came to the Apple Discussions and saw not one, but two discussions about this possible spam/phishing letter.  So, yes, it turns out to be real, but again, my initial thought was this was Apple's way of silencing one of their critics.
Yes, conspiracy theories abound when the company you love and love to hate is so secretive (gosh, they can even get the SF Police to cooperate in searching someone's house!).
