Cost of prints and photobooks?

Hi, I am trying to find information about ordering prints and photos through Iphoto. I would like to know the cost before I go to the trouble of creating a book. I have used Mypublisher in the past and have been very happy with it. However now that I am using Iphoto I thought it might be easier to ordering directly through that but I want to know if the costs are reasonable.

Can I use Airport Express for printing and Ethernet printing at same time?

I've been trying to set up a couple of laser printers that were given to me recently. The printers are Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS and Samsung CLP-510. The reason I'd like to have both up and running is because the black toner for the Samsung costs twice as much as the toner for the LaserWriter. I have two questions that I am hoping someone will be able to answer.
1) The CLP prints a test page just fine. I was finally able to get the Samsung printing while directly connected to my PowerBook G4 via usb (I had to install a Xerox Phaser 6100 driver to do so!). Today I tried putting the usb into my Airport Express (which I use for my portable internet and airtunes) and now the printer does not respond. When I try to add the CLP as a bonjour printer, I get an error adding the printer and the printer does not respond. Can someone offer some advice as to how and if the CLP may work via the Airport Express?
2) The LaserWriter prints a test page just fine. I purchased a transceiver (albeit not an Apple transceiver - this one says Asante Friendlynet, the guy I bought it from said it would work though). The transceiver is connected to the Ethernet port on the printer - and I have a yellow ethernet cable (?) running from the transceiver to the ethernet port on my computer. I read somewhere on the internet that I need to turn on Appletalk in order to use the printer via ethernet but when I went into my network settings to do that, there was a warning that I could not turn on appletalk for ethernet without forsaking my airport. Can someone offer some advice as to how and if the 16/600 PS may work via ethernet without disrupting my (working) airport express? Also - I did not receive any software or drivers with this printer but I read that I may not need to (they come with Tiger - ?) Is anyone able to confirm this?

Hello Kappy! Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question.
I should update you at this point to say that I can add the 16/600 PS printer through a process that I found called 'Direct IP printing over ethernet'. (I think I've done this correctly - but I honestly have no idea about network stuff). Here's what I did:
-went into system prefs and looked at the network settings under built-in ethernet tab. Under TCP-IP I found the IP address of my network host.
-In the Printer Setup Utility I tried to manually add the 16/600 PS printer. In the Printer Browser window, I selected IP Printer.
-Under IP printer, I selected LPD Protocol. I inserted the IP address copied from my network settings (above) in the address bar. In the Queue bar I typed in the name of the printer 'Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS'.
-Again in the Printer Browser box I gave the printer a name and location. Finally, in the 'print using' box I selected Apple and then chose the model from the drop down list. 'Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS fax v.2014.016'
-I got a dialogue box that asked about other installable features - clicked ok.
-when I tried to print a Word document, the Apple LaserWriter driver opened up and appeared in my dock and then I got an immediate error saying "network host ---.---.--.--- is busy, down, or unreachable..."
-I tried to repair permissions, but it did not resolve my issue.
-I noticed that even after adding the 16/600, it did not show up as a bonjour printer, but remained visible as a printer in my list (although grayed out).
I did some troubleshooting and the best I could find as a close match for my problem was that perhaps I had entered the name incorrectly in the Queue box...? If anyone knows how to find the appropriate name to insert I would sure appreciate knowing.
Finally - you should probably know that I received this printer from someone else. I guess I'm wondering if I need to be resetting network settings on the printer somehow? The test page lists the following:
Ethernet (Address: 08:00:07:84:78:e9)
EtherTalk: PostScript
NetWare: AutoSelect
TCP/IP: AutoSelect
IP address: 0.0.0.0
And - now finally, to answer your questions (the best I can, that is)
I did connect the yellow network cable directly into my laptop (right side, 4th input, counting away from me). I have a portable internet modem that plugs into my wall (for power) and then has a cable (Ethernet?) that goes into my Airport Express (LAN port?). I have no other router and there are no other inputs or outputs on my modem. My Airport Express has only one input for the modem, one mini input for airtunes, and one usb input (in which I have a cable connecting to my other laser printer (now working wirelessly via Airport Express!!)
Should I have these cables hooked up differently?
What is a Phonenet adaptor? My internet is provided via a cable service (not DSL). It is wireless and portable - I can take it to any major city in Canada and it works as long as it is plugged into a power source and near a window.
I really appreciate any help you can offer. At this point I must have spent the better part of almost two weeks trying to get these older laser printers up and running.

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium 910n wireless operation freezes while printing (and not)

With a Linksys/Cisco E3000 wireless (encrypted) connection the HP OJ 8500A 919n will bluescreen (with a momentary error code) and crash (to a white screen with blinking lights) during printing and at random times. A (5 to 6 min) power off-on cycle is required for the printer to return to a normal state. After many hour with HP tech support, it was determined that the printer will operate correctly via UPS direct connection to the PC and operate correcly as a network printer via wired ethernet connection to E3000 router.
I recommend that users with this unit that experience problems with a wireless connection to the network immediately switch to wired operation to determine if that corrects the problem before calling HP tech support. This will save many hours of "standard scripted" troubleshooting over the phone with an HP tech. Each failed attempt to print that crashes the printer "costs" 5 to 6 minutes performing a "hard" reset and waiting for the printer to recover from a "dirty" (i.e. not a front panel switch induced) shutdown.

Can I print a photobook made with Adobe photoshop 7 with Shutterfly?

I earned a free 8 by 8 photobook with shutterfly. I tried making one on their website but I could not find any that I liked. I would like to professionally print my photobook I already made with adobe photoshop 7. I need step by step intructions how to put my photobook made with adobe onto shutterfly. I would also like to know some websites that will print pre-made adobe photoshop books for cheap in case shutterfly does not work. Thank you. It is a Valentines gift for my boyfriend, so please get back to me asap

I believe Shutterfly provide only standard prints e.g. 6 x 4 inches or enlargements from the PSE interface.
You could save your book as a PDF file and then upload to an alternative on-line print service that can print the pages such as Blurb.

How can I print and ship a photo book from another country?

I wish to print and ship a book from a different country (Hong Kong) but have it billed to my Canada credit card in order to avoid overseas shipping costs.. Does anyone know if this is possible? If I create a unique Apple ID on HK web site with a local HK shipping address it still won't allow me to use my Canada credit card which has a Canadian billing address.

Please help about Report Printer and PS tables-objects . ..

Hi everybody
I'm in trouble. I have a requirement in PS módule related with reports created by the Report Printer tool. I don't have any idea about these topics.
My requirement is to create a report (not with Report Printer) with the structure for projects, with all the structure Project-WBS-Network-Activity and with some values like Budget, Commit, Actual, Paid, etc.
The functional consultant only tells me about some reports created with Report Printer wich have the columns required, some report has the Budget, other one has the Commit, etc. For example, one report is the tcode S_ALR_87013532; i don't know if this transaction exists in all the SAP implementations or if it was created only for my company.
These reports only show two levels (Project-Network) so i i have to investigate:
1. How to get all the structure levels (project-WBS-network-activity)
2. How to 'translate' in code some value showed in a report created with Report Printer, i guess these values are created with formules and objects.
3. How to get the same values showed in these reports, but for the Networks and Activities.
I do not know anything about PS module and Report Printer and i really don't have any idea about how to make my development.
4. I think the functional consultant could be able to create the report himself with the Report Printer, but he tells me he does not manage this tool so good and he wants to send SAP mails with the reports, and he say the reports created with Report Printer can not send mails. Is this true ? and then, would be easier for me to learn Report Printer and create the report myself instead to develop it ?
Does somebody can help me ? Any idea ?
Please help !! I don't know even how to start with this.

Using PDF Printer and MS SharePoint

We love the new functionality with Acrobat and Sharepoint, however, we noticed there is a problem when using the Adobe PDF Printer to save to a Sharepoint Library.
None of the Sharepoint functionality works when you save to a Sharepoint library from the PDF Printer!!!
We have users that (in an effort to cut down on paper printing costs) screen-print a report from an external application using the Adobe PDF Printer. We would like for them to be able to immediately drop these into a Sharepoint library which has required metadata fields in it. The problem is that, while this functionality works when you already have a PDF open and try to save to this library, the user is never prompted to fill out the required metadata whenever they use the PDF printer.
Steps:
1.     User hits the print button and selects the Adobe PDF Printer
2.     User gets a Save-As dialog box where they select the sharepoint location (via a mapped drive)
3.     The screen-print then pulls up in Acrobat
***The problem is, the document somehow successfully saves to the library but stays checked out. The user can just close the document and is never prompted for the metadata.

However, seens SAP has already provided a PDF printer and which asked for email as parameter, It could be easy.
Is email ID as parameter is really not there is PRINT PARAMETER. ????

Help with Printing a Photobook

Hello,
I just purchased a new Mac and Photoshop Elements 6.0 about 2 months ago. I created a 48 page photobook as a christmas gift (ordered 3, in fact), and was very surprised that the only way I can print is through Kodak easyshare. I'm not happy with that, especially since I created a 12 x 12 photobook, and Kodak has already printed 10.25 x 9" photobooks. I called customer service, and I can return them if they are out of whack. I'm more concerned with the scale of the pictures than the actual size of the book.
I've read a few of the posts already concerning this issue, and I'm still unclear. I'm a recent Photoshop user, so I have to ask: What do I do if I want to use Snapfish or some other printing service? Do I save pages individually? Is there a different way to export the file? One of the recent posts suggested a B-export function, which I wasn't able to find.
Can someone assist?

Hi,
The availability of service providers to print your photobooks depends upon the location specified in Edit>Preferences>Adobe Partner Services in Organizer. In Photoshop Elements 6 the photobooks get created only in the sizes that are supported by Kodak EasyShare. So, if you have created the photobook with PSE6 and have been able to upload them successfully to Kodak Gallery, they should get printed just fine.

Controlling printing and printer

I am trying to control Adobe Pro (create OLE object of AcroExch) during the printing phase with a number of different options for a print shop. So far so good with a couple of exceptions:
a) If Adobe is up when we go to set the printer, I cannot, the print job comes out on the last printer used. Is there a way around this?
b) In most cases I am printing the same number of pages as before, i.e. splitting a 4000 page job into x-number of pages (in order to staple automatically at EOJ) - but the "sub-jobs" are not coming out in the spool in order for some reason.
c) The customer wants to save (to use later) and change certain settings, i.e. staple, fold, ... through my external application. These types of items are not usually in the printer DevMode, though occasionally some are. Is there a way to pass a DevMode or an extended DevMode through Acrobat object calls to reset/set different print options for a specific run?

Kind of a mis-quote on my behalf. I was refering to the Reader IKLA costs, but I could/should do this under Pro. So ignoring that point...
From AcrobatPro I still have the same questions:
a) I need to automate all the printing and splitting of a document. Can this all be automated where a specific plug-in runs on startup?
b) If Acrobat is running (via a user), can I manipulate the printer and it's settings for a new instance? This cannot be done under the OLE model, setting the pritner seems to be ignored.

I have a wireless HP printer, but it is not an E Printer and cannot print directly from my mobile device. I purchased an Epson all in one E Printer so that I could print from my tablet. THe printer cost me less than $90 at Walmart.

What printer and fax modem for leopard

Since updating to leopard I`m having a lot of trouble with my Canon MP 780. I have tried new drivers and everything else I can think of including reading these forms for a solution ever since leopard was released.It seems to me that apple forgot all about faxing and printing when they developed leopard. So my question is, is there a multifunction printer that works well with leopard. Seems nothing can save my MP 780. Also I need a fax modem but it seems they are far and few between that play nice with leopard. A few suggestions would be greatly appreciated.It seems as though leopard is apple`s Vista when it comes to printing and faxing. Sorry I`m just really tired of this.

I'm using a HP Officejet 7780 which works great, the bad news is it was recently replaced by the OfficeJet 8500 series AIO. HP make 3 versions:
1. Base model with ethernet & USB connections
2. OJPro 8500 Wi-Fi with touch screen, wi-fi (in additition to ethernet and USB connections) & duplexing
3. OJPro 8500 Premier with touch screen, wi-fi, duplexing, touch screen, dual paper trays and 2 complete sets of ink, legal size scanning etc.
The new OJ 8500 series also uses ink that is designed to be water resistant and offer a lower cost of printing than a similarly priced laser printers.

I am having trouble printing to an Epson XP600. It is a new printer and it has been replaced because we thought it was the printer. Basically, when I print from Excel, only color will print.
