Hi i have a NOKIA 5800 express music handset , it came with a 90 days walk/drive navigation license ,
i want to know , what is the cost of buying / using the GPS service after the expiry of this 90 day license?

Hi, just wanted some clarification.
Is using the in-built nokia maps FREE? As in do I need to pay anything?
Let's say I download ALL the maps on my PC and the transfer them to my phone. Do I still need to download anything while using the nokia maps GPS software?

1. Yes. Its free to use/download maps via your PC. Its free to browse map and get routed to your destination. How ever, if you want turn-by-turn navigation (voice guided) you have to pay for a licence.

Depending on your software version Nokia maps can be used as a GPS programme. With the latest Version 2.0633.65.01 Nokia maps is included as a standard menu item.
Your other option would be to buy a Garmin Mobile XT pack which includes maps and navigation. Depending on your gegion the price will vary.
The E65-1 does not have a built in GPS receiver therefore you will also need to purchase a one. Nokia's LD-3W works well and is not that costly.
Lastly Nokia maps will cost you as it needs to be activated for full navigation functions. Once again this will depend on your region.

Your question has been answered. Jailbreaking cannot be discussed here. If you buy a phone locked to a carrier, it would be down to them to unlock it, and that's very unlikely if you've only just got the phone. Locked phones are "cheap" for a reason - you're signing up for a contract and that subsidises the cost of the phone.

Using GPS overseas with 6710

Hi,
I have downloaded the maps I need for Europe using the Map Loader. Can i use the GPS function whilst overseas without incurring any data costs ? If I leave it in offline mode will it work ok? Has anyone used their 6710 in places like Spain, France, Croatia ? Does it function ok?

Remember that in addition to OVI Maps needing to be "Offline" you also need to only enable "Integrated GPS" in Positioning methods as per this resource:http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/6710-navigator/how-to/navigation/use-gps to obviate network download data cost, although there may be compromise in how readily device locks on to position without Assisted GPS feature working.
There should be no issues with car charger with 2mm connector pin.

Check with your carrier about roaming charges. They are usually prohibitive. Best to get a local SIM.

If your iPhone is locked to a wireless provider, only that wireless provider
can unlock it. Contact the wireless provider in Hong Kong to see if they
offer unlocking and if you qualify.
If your iPhone is locked to an AppleID that you do not know, return it for
a refund as it is useless. Only the person whose AppleID was used for
activation can remove the lock. There is no workaround for Activation Lock.
If neither of the above is what you are facing, provide more detail so someone
may offer a solution.

iPhones purchased in the UAE do not have FaceTime installed and FaceTime will not appear regardless of where the phone is taken.
Jailbreaking will void your warranty with Apple, may permanently render your phone unusuable, and will eliminate the possibility of getting help from Apple or its forums including this one.
If you want FaceTime on an iPhone, sell that phone and purchase one from one of the authorized iPhone dealers in India.

Home screen lock is different than carrier lock.
If the device is locked to a specific carrier for cell service you cannot use a sim from another provider without having the device unlocked. Only the carrier to which the device is locked will be able to unlock the device for service on another provider.

SQL Cost of using DECODE built-in

I'm trying to tune some SQL and wondering about the cost of using DECODE. I believe that by using this function, it prevents any index on the related column from being used.
Do any "Tuning Gurus" have opinions on the use of DECODE?

As a general rule, the Oracle built-in functions are pretty fast to execute. You will not really see any difference in performance between a sql statement using a built-in function in the SELECT clause, and one not using one.
However, a lot depends on where and how you use the DECODE.
SELECT col1,DECODE(col2,1,'YES',2,'NO',3,'MAYBE')
FROM table
will be no slower than
SELECT col1,col2
FROM table
If there is an index on col2, then
SELECT col1,DECODE(col2,1,'YES',2,'NO',3,'MAYBE')
FROM table
WHERE col2 BETWEEN 1 AND 3
will use it. However
SELECT col1,col2
FROM table
WHERE DECODE(col2,1,'YES',2,'NO',3,'MAYBE') IN ('YES','NO','MAYBE')
will not (unless you have a function based index). But,
SELECT col1,col3
FROM table
WHERE col2 BETWEEN 1 and 3 and
col3 = DECODE(col2,1,'YES',2,'NO',3,'MAYBE') IN ('YES','NO','MAYBE')
will.Note that "will" in the above really means can. it is up to the optimizer whether it actually is used or not.

What happens when you try to buy/download an app, do you get any error messages ?
If you are getting a 'not in this store' message then try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your iPhone and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select your country.
If it's a different problem ... ?

Using gps and phone at the same time

I am using the S6, great phone however I noticed today that I cannot use GPS (Waze app) and be on the phone at the same time.
Is this really the case or am I missing something? I previously had the Galaxy S3 and I did not have an issue with this.
Please tell me this is just a setting issue not an issue with the phone.

This is standard for iPhone 5S on Verizon or Sprint (CDMA) carriers. iPhone 6 can do simultaneous voice and data on Verizon, but not 5S.

If the phone is unlocked then you can use it in India.
If your phone is locked, then the only way to get the phone unlocked is to contact your phone company/carrier. The person that sold you the phone in Saudi should have told you whether it was locked or unlocked. Contact them to check and then contact the carrier to have it unlocked if it is locked.
Other than that there is not a lot that you can do - perhaps it was unwise to purchase a phone in Saudi - it won't have Facetime on it if you got it there.
