Costing enabled check in oracle inventory

Hi,
While defining inventory master item, in costing tab, Costing enabled and inventory asset value enabled tab cannot be saved when checked.
I m click enable and then try to save the master item it does not take any effect and ultimately I'm having to close the item without saving
Please suggest the problem and possible solution.
Regards,
Muhammad Nouman Shaikh

Hi,
Check if there is any "form personalization" applied to the item master form.
if yes, disable the same and try again.
Thanks

  • Patching 10gr2 RAC, Oracle inventory on a CFS

    I have 4-node HP-UX VCS5 Oracle10g RAC setup running in production environment. First time i am trying to apply latest patch bundle. I am trying to apply 10.2.0.4 patch set.
    I am getting the bellow error when i am applying the patch.
    "Central Invventory can't be shared, this is not supported"
    The ORACLE_BASE is on a cluster file system.
    To ignore this error and to proceed with patch installation, what steps we need to take ?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    Looks like you have run into an always documented restriction which has now been enforced with the OUI in the 10.2.0.4 patchset.
    The documentation which mentioned that Shared Central Inventories are not recommended / supported is available at :
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/em.102/b16227/oui6_cluster_environment.htm#BABGJAAF
    <Quote>
    The Oracle Inventory directory (oraInventory) stores an inventory of all software installed on the system. It is required by, and shared by, all Oracle software installations on a single system. The first time you install Oracle software on a system, Oracle Universal Installer prompts you to specify the path to this directory. If you are installing the software on a local file system, then Oracle recommends that you choose the following path:
    oracle_base/oraInventory
    If the Oracle base directory is on a cluster file system, or on an NFS file system on a NAS device, then you must specify a path for the Oracle Inventory directory on a local file system. The Oracle base directory must be on a local file system to enable all of the nodes to have separate inventories.
    Oracle Universal Installer creates the directory that you specify, and sets the correct owner, group, and permissions for it. You do not need to create it.
    <un-quote>
    What has changed with the 10.2.0.4 Installer is that Oracle now enforces this restriction. What I believe is that without this being enforced , there was a possibility of running into Central Inventory corruption issues when Clustered and Non-Clustered installs were being done on the same node.
    I also found this discussion on one of the Metalink threads which might be useful.
    Please contact Oracle Support prior to attempting these steps though.
    Quoting Oracle:
    It is not supported to have central inventory on a shared location. There was a bug.5009954 "OUI SHOULD ENFORCE SEPARATE CENTRAL INVENTORY LOCATIONS IN RAC" filled on this issue. This bug is fixed in 11.2. It is actually an OUI issue which doesn't perform a check to make sure that central inventory location is not on shared device.
    In order to fix the inventory, you can change the OH/oraInst.loc in the CRS home to point to a non-shared directory.
    Run <crs>/oui/bin/attachhome.sh -silent -local -cfs CRS=true -invPtrLoc <crs>/oraInst.loc on each of the nodes. Finally copy the oraInst.loc to the /etc/oraInst.loc.

  • Unable to find product oracle.swd.jre[1.4.1, 9.9.9.] in Oracle Inventory

    I am trying to install Oracle 10g on Solaris 10 (SPARC) using the OUI and receive the following error towards the beginning of the install.
    unable to find product oracle.swd.jre[1.4.1, 9.9.9.] in Oracle Inventory
    Please respond if you have encountered this error and what you did to resolve it.
    Thanks

    Of course, thoroughly. Ok. Like I said, it surprising how often people don't check that, so we always ask first.
    Have you run into this error,
    or a similar one, before? No. Have installed 9.2 on several Solaris boxes without a problem, so have not directly seen this one.
    Do you have an applicable
    troubleshooting tips? I searched MetaLink on "unable to find product oracle.swd.jre" and got three hits. None are exactly your situation, but they might lead you to something. See notes 468150.1, 315842.1, and 397745.1.
    And this may be one requireing an SR.
    I suspect that the JRE
    location is not set properly. I

    Is it because 10g installation is picking the same oracle inventory /oracle/inventory
    do i need to make different oracle inventory for different oracle homes???????plz confirm..is thats the reason i am getting this error??????
    Thanks inadvance

    I figure out you are trying to install 10gR2 on top of an existing 9iR2 Oracle Home. This is corrected at the Path definition window. Most probably you just click on the <Next> and by default the 9iR2 Oracle Home was selected. You must define a new oracle home for the 10gR2 install.

  • Query Related to Oracle Inventory

    I have to prepare a report in Oracle Inventory (R12) where I have to extract below fields
    1. Inventory Quantity Sold for previous days and weekly basis etc
    2. Quantity Physically on a shelf at a distribution center but commited to end customer
    3. Quantity transfeerd from one or more distribution center within distributor
    4. Quantity on order with manufacturer but not yet received
    5.Quantity Intransit (Intercompany Transfer to the location)
    But I am unable to derive those fields. Please help me to build the query to fetch those fields.

    should I remove those PGA configuration and make it manually for sort_area,hash_join and workarea policy?Well, it depends on your database.
    First, check statspack/awr and see if you are doing "disk sorts", and check your ratio of nested loop joins to hash joins:
    http://www.dba-oracle.com/t_viewing_cpu_ram_io_costs.htm
    Manual setting "alter session" commands, is, well, manual, and it would be best to let Oracle take care of it, IMHO.
    Hope this helps. . .

  • Corruption of Oracle Inventory by installing ADF runtime libraries?

    Hi,
    We are running OAS 10.1.2.2.0 on RedHat Enterprise Linux and I am deploying an ADF application from JDev 10.1.3.39.84.
    I downloaded the standalone installer for the adf runtime libraries installer from here:
    http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/jdeveloper/10132/extensions/adfinstaller.zip
    and installed it to our development server. I then deployed the ADF application and it seems to work just fine.
    Now I have requested that these libraries be installed to the production server but the Sys Admin has informed me that:
    "Your installation appears to have corrupted the 'Oracle Inventory' on the development server. This can affect upgrades, patching, etc."
    I have been asked to investigate if this is a known issue and what possible resolutions there might be for preserving/restoring the Oracle Inventory to enable continued maintenance of the servers.
    I have searched the forums and Metalink without success, so I am posting this query to see if anyone else can help me point me in the right direction.
    Thanks for any assistance.

    Hi,
    please file a service request with customer support. This way you have an analyst working with you to track down the issue. Because ADF libraries are copying jar files only and this is nothing you can re-do after wards, I would be surprised if it has anything to do with the Oracle inventory. However still it would be good to have customer support looking at this

  • Order checking via Oracle Wireless

    Dear all;
    I was wondering is it possible to perform order checking thru Oracle 9i Wireless Application. I am currently in a project trying to develop a mobile application that can directly integrate with Oracle 11i E-Business Suite, eg: for order checking, inventory status, credit limit, etc.
    Please help. Would appreciate if u can direct me to where i cane get more technical information regarding this possibilities.
    thank;

    Hi,
    Did you change the TNSNAMES.ORA file for DS? you have to add TNS entry to DS TNSNAMES.ORA file.
    Go to $DB_Default_Home$\netword\admin and open TNSNAMES.ORA file in notepad. Copy the tns entry from which you are connecting from SQL*plus.
    Go to $DS_Default_Home$\netword\admin and open TNSNAMES.ORA file in notepad. paste the tns entry you copied.
    Now try to connect from form builder.
    regards,

  • How do I check the oracle client version?

    Hi All,
         How do I check the oracle client version installed from the OS level. I do know my database version I need to check which client is being used. Is there a table where this information is stored.
    Thanks
    Shabna

    disp+work.exe -V will tell you which OCI version was used during compiling and linking.
    Oracle uses release independent DLL Names (Unix people would say Shared Libraries) and therefore the SAP Kernel will dynamically load any Oracle Client Version found in the standard DLL Load Path during startup.
    If you have more versions installed on your computer and you are not shure which one is loaded you can use Process Explorer (freeware, see www.sysinternals.com) to find out which one is loaded. If they belong to an Oracle_home (up to release 9.2) refere to Oracle Universal Installers Inventory information in order to find out which exact version is used.
    If an Oracle10 Instant Client is used, there is no corresponding Oracle_Home. In this case you can use Windows Explorer (right click on the  DLL -for example oci.dll), select properties, the Version Tab and File Version).
    But unfortunately Oracle is not updating the File Version every time they are patching something.
    An SAP ABAP Server Integrated Resource is the version information disp+work.exe -V is listing (evquivalent to SM51 - Release Information).
    <b>Datenbank Client Library : OCI_10201_SHARE (10.2.0.2.0)</b>
    OCI_10201_SHARE is telling us the compile/link environment, the number in brackets (only available starting with Oracle10) tells us the the result of an Oracle Client GetVersion call. Unfortunately this one does also not reflect the installed Minipatch version up to now.
    Here are some results on 10.2.0.2 Windows X86_64:
    SM51: Datenbank Client Library : OCI_10201_SHARE (10.2.0.2.0)
    Explorer (OCI.DLL located in the same directory as disp+work.exe):
       10.2.0.2.0 Patch2
    Explorer (oraociicus10.dll - the instant client implementation, this version is the one actual since mini patch 10.2.0.2.5 and it was definitely changed in 10.2.0.2.5):
       OraOCIICUS10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0
       oracore10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       oranls10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       orasnls10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       oraunls10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       oravsn10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       oracommon10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Patch1
       orageneric10.dll - 10.2.0.2.0 Patch2
       oraclient10.dll - 10.2.0.2.0 Patch2
       orapls10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Patch1
       orasql10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       oraxml10.dll - 10.1.0.2.0
       orahasgen10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       oraocrutl10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       oraocr10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       oraocrb10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       oranbeq10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
       orantcp10.dll - 10.2.0.1.0 Production
    oracommon10.dll from the rdbms server does report 10.2.0.2.0 Patch5 at the same time. compare it with the version information of oracommon10.dll included in oraociicus10.dll. Both patches are included in the same patchset (10.2.0.2.5).
    there are two possible conclusions about this:
    1. the version infomation is not very reliable.
    2. the Oracle Patch and Build environment is not very reliable

    Usually, the security policy of the application is bundled in the EAR file. When you deploy the application the security policy is automatically migrated (e.g. added) to domain's security policy repository (e.g. <tt>system-jazn-data.xml</tt> file, if neither LDAP or DB repository is used). Also when you undeploy an application its security policy is removed from domain's security policy repository.
    My practical experience says that both of these happen only if the application has been targetted to WLS domain's admin server (i.e. if the application is targetted only to managed servers but not to the admin server, then the security policy is neither migrated nor removed).
    The trick I apply is to do the following:
    (1) Target and deploy the application to the admin server (so the security policy is migrated into <tt>system-jazn-data.xml</tt>);
    (2) Copy the migrated application's policy section from <tt>system-jazn-data.xml</tt> to the clipboard;
    (3) Undeploy the application from the admin server (the security policy is removed from <tt>system-jazn-data.xml</tt> in result);
    (4) Paste the security section back into <tt>system-jazn-data.xml</tt> file and save it;
    (5) Deploy the application to managed servers;
    (6) Restart the servers.
    (It is not necessary to undeploy the application at step 3, it is enough to remove the admin server from application's targets).
    I am not sure that this is the right approach, but it works and I have not found anything in the documentation about this topic.
    One more thing - the automatic migration of the security policy that is included in the EAR is controlled by the following parameter in <tt>weblogic-application.xml</tt> file:
    <application-param>
        <param-name>jps.policystore.migration</param-name>
        <param-value>OVERWRITE</param-value>
    </application-param>The policy is not migrated if this parameter is not set.
    If you deploy the application from JDeveloper, it will not be necessary to set this parameter in <tt>weblogic-application.xml</tt> manually because JDeveloper will do it for you. Just open the Application Properties dialog in JDev, go to page "Deployment" and check the checkbox "Application Policies". Then JDeveloper will automatically add this parameter into <tt>weblogic-application.xml</tt> file within the EAR files generated from this time onwards (do not be confused that it will not be added to the file in the IDE).

  • Item import to oracle inventory from legacy system

    Hi,
    We have a requirement where we need to import a very large number of items (close to 500,000) from a legacy system to oracle inventory.
    We are using oracle open interface for this. We have designed a temp table for this purpose in order to validate data before moving it to the oracle interface tables. The data to be migrated is present in a separate data base and we need to move this data to Oracle temp table.
    Can we use DB link to migrate this kind of data(in terms of volume)? Also what are the best practices that need to be followed while importing data to Oracle inventory? Is there any other way that this can be done?
    Please share your thoughts and suggestions on this
    Thanks
    AM

    Hi,
    Some times DB link will fail, Please create custom package and try to interface with legacy system for periodically fetching the data into your tables. If the data is bulk please use API instead of Interface tables.
    Thanks.

  • Enabling SSL for Oracle Enterprise Manager 10.1.3.1 is Failing!!!

    Hi All,
    I have followed the steps described in
    http://download-uk.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01//core.1013/b28940/em_app.htm#BABCEEAH.
    However when I am trying to start the application server using 'opmnctl startall' the server is not starting and some timeout is getting generated in the log file.
    Is it that enabling SSL will only make the EM console secured? Then how to enable SSL for other soa components like - BPEL,ESB,OWSM? Are there any documentations available?
    Also please let me know how can I enable SSL for Oracle Application server console?
    Please any advice will be appreciated. I am in the middle of a project delivery.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Let me first highlight the installation that I have done. I have installed SOA components with 'basic installation' mode.
