Costing relevancy in prod order

Hi.
We have a production order with all the components fixed to relevancy for
costing. sometimes we need to change the component at prod order level,
If we change the component, indicator / tick for "relevancy of costing" is disappering at general data of order.
we have ETO , MTO & MTS scenario in our plant.
Above mention problem is only for ETO order tyes prod orders.
Is there any setting/config for order types to select costing relevancy tick.
Thanks in advance.
Jeevan

Thanks for the reply, but costing relevancy is activated at operation level,
normal prod orders are getting created correctly, but when we change the componentin CO02 then costing relevancy is getting disapper.
Waiting for your reply.

• Issue with update of BOM by Variant Config - Cost relevant indicator

Hi All VC Expert,
We are facing an issue with the update by reference characteristic of the field STPO-SANKA Cost relevancy indicator on the BOM.
We are on SAP ECC 6.0 release 700 on Oracle
Hot Package
- SAPKA70015 on ERP Cross Application componenent
- SAPKH60013 on SAP-APPL Logistics and accouting
We are using material variant
We are on the first level of configuration
Classically, we built a procedure to set X to this data base field as below :
$self.STPO_SANKA = 'X'
We assigned this procedure to the relevant items
Here is the result we have:
At the creation of the Plan Order, this is not working
At the creation of the Prod Order, this is not working
When we do a Reload PP master data, this is working very well
On CU50/VA02 when we check the trace, the procedure is executed.
Do somebody have an idea or already facing this and solve it ?
Thanks in advance for your appreciated help.

I still have issue with this object characteristics. I didn't find Oss note to correct the issue.
Do somebody is facing the same issue as me and find a solution ?

Hi Fabien,
I have series of questions to ask.
1. How are you creating the Planned order or Production Order. Is it created directly in PP module or through the requirement transfer from SD.
2. What do you mean by PP master data.
If you trigger the BOM for the planned order or production order from Sales order and some other reqmt trigger, what is your precondition for updating the cost relevancy indicator. If you some script some lines of your process, I can check if you should include the $PARENT clause somewhere. I think the problem lies somewhere in the origin of configuration.

• Issue with settlement of prod. order (KO88)

Hi Friends,
We are facing a issue while settlement of prod order using with tcode KO88.
In production Order, the distribution rule is created for account assignment category MAT (material) with settlement type PER (periodic settlement). We have added category CTR (cost center) with type PER to distribute percentages as 50% & 50%.
When we check the distribution rules in Production order system says its OK with-out error but when same is settled with KO88 system shows an error "Settlement type PER: Total percentage in distribution rules <> 100%".
Please help.

• Setting default costing relevancy on IW31

Hi all,
i have problems with the definition of the default value of the costing relevancy during the creation of an orden by the transaction IW31.
In particular i have to set that default value just for a specific order type.
is it possible doing it?
Thanks.

Hi,
To define your own logic you can use BAdI IWO1_ORDER_BADI with method CHANGE_COSTRELEVNCY to set 'relevant for costing flag'. See also some information in note [649743|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/649743].

• Cost center for Production Order

Hi all,
We are now not able to get a report of Material consumption cost, Cost center wise. It is Because cost center is not linked to Production order or not linked to material issued to production order. Can we get the cost of material cosumption for production order cost center wise. Please give us a solution.
With Regards,
R.Mahendiran.

Hi,
Prod order is linked with controlling, for the direct costs like material cost linked with accounting view, costing view and secondary costs are linked with costing tab in work center and inturn workcenter is assigned to cost center, and for the prod order controlling part you will be assigned to the costing variant in transaction OPL8, if you remove this you can't get any reports.
To understand the difference
201 - Goods issue against cost center. Means you create reservation through MB21 and do posting of cost directly at cost center.
261 - Goods issue to Production order. Means you create a reservation through Production order and do posting of cost to Production order. When cost settlement of production order is done cost from production order will get transfered to cost center mentioned in settlement rule of production order.
Hope this clarifies your doubt.

• Material in which Costing relevancy has not been maintained

Hi,
I want list of materials in which Costing relevancy has not been maintained. From where i can see it...in which table??
Thanks.

Dear,
Do Not Cost
Controls whether a cost estimate or a procurement alternative can be
created for a material.
Use
If you select this indicator, you cannot create any of the following for
this material:
o Material cost estimate (with or without quantity structure)
o Sales order cost estimate
o Procurement alternative
The material is excluded from selection and BOM explosion, so that no
cost component split will be created by the costing process. If the
material is included in another cost estimate as a component to be
valuated, the valuation price is determined through the valuation
variant if no cost estimate with the same key exists for the material.

• DLFL for Prod Orders - ATO Scenario

Hi Experts,
Basically im an Finance guy. I am facing difficulty in setting up DLFL status for order types of ATO scenario. We have the typical scenario of creation of sales order, triggiring planned order and converted to production order, and the goods are delivered to customer and the invoice is booked. All the costs relevant are settled to the production order and not to the sales order. At month end we run wip, variance and then settle the orders and close down the orders.
When i try to set DLFL through CO02, the deletion flag active indicator is greyed out, i tried other alternative of CO78, the orders are not picking at all. Im not sure how to handle this scenario.
When i spoke to PP consultant, they say for these order types when there is a link between sales order and production order, the DLFL cant be set in CO02 or CO78, meaning not in production order. It seems the flag as to be set in sales order where the production order is linked. But i dont see any provision in sales order of setting the DLFL flag. They also said, its because of the costs settled to production order.
Im not sure, is this the way SAP is desinged or is there any other alternative.
Has anybody come across this scenario, please help me out. How to handle in these scenarios?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Yes, as said by your PP Consultant, this is how the SAP is designed for ATO Scenario.

• Costing Relevancy indicator cannot be set as 50%

Hello,
I have a issues with costing relevancy indicator in production order item. It doesnot consider the % such as (25% or 50%) costing relevancy. Only 100% or " " is considered.
Kindly let me know the steps to achieve the 50% costing relevancy for order component.
Best Regards
Sameer

Hi UKSAPPP ,
I have checked transaction OS18 and found that the factors are maintained. Actually i am looking for the 50% cost of component in production order planned cost. Does this come under inventory coseting as per you reply?
Because the customer wants this in production order cost for that component where this relevancy to costing is maintained as 50%.

• Costing Log in production order creation

Dear All,
I’m having a material with a component which we do not cost. Component material has marked ‘do not cost’ tick box in costing 1 view in material master.
Costing for the header material is done using CK40N after attaching BOM and routing. However when I’m trying to save a production order for the header material it creates a costing log. See below screen shot.
I do not need to maintain a price for the component material since I’m getting it free of charge from a vendor. (Through a free purchase order) This scenario was running properly in AFS 5.0.
But it gives a costing log in AFS 6.5. In need to save the production order without any costing log. Please help me on this.
regards,
Jeewana

Hi Jeewana,
In BOM for the respective material under BOM Item data - Status/Lng text Costing Relevency indicator - Make it Blank. Do Read master data in order after the change, error will not come.

• Clubbing two Pl Order to one prod Order

Hi,
In MTO scenario we have two Sales orders from two different customers for the same FG and two pl orders are generated after MRP now we want to have a single prod Order for these two as production people does not bother about customers while producing and after conformation of this single Prod order we need to allocate to the customers according to their sales order qty.
How to map this in sap, as we want to use Individual u201C02u201D indicator in MRP views against availability check.
Please suggestu2026u2026u2026u2026u2026u2026..

Dear ,
As you have mentioned that two planned order generated from different sales order , it means finsihed good will be in two individual Sales Order Stock once the production gets complete and subsequently , invoice n delivery will be done .
Now , in that case why two planned Order should be clubbed in PO and how will you do the cost analysis in individual level as its MTO order .
I think you can achieve this if you follow MTS busniess process with Planning Stratgey 20 or Gross Requirement Palnnig -11(Mixed MRP) .In that case , you need to Sale the FG as traded item (TAN Item categoery ) and stok will be lying in Unrestricted stock .
Just analysis and revert us if you need farther help

• Material staging only for released prod order parts

Hi Experts,
Could any of You pls help me to set material staging only for components of released production orders?
There is a PP-WM integrated system, where we have mat.staging indicator 3 in control cycle, and run MF60 for WMreleased order parts. Here all CRTD and REL prod order components are listed. But I would like to change it: only REL prod order parts should be seen and replenished.
Could You pls let me know, how to do that?
Answers will be apprecited

Eshwer,
If a material has its own production order then it should be closed ,Closed in the sense you have to do theVariance Calculation,Order Settlement & finally Close the order
So irrespective of whether the material is of FERT or HALB type, each production order need to be closed
Closing the FERT order will not suffice ,It will not take care of the HALB order
Order Settlement
When a production order is settled, the actual costs incurred for the order are settled to one or more receiver cost-objects (for example, to the account for the material produced or to a sales order). Offsetting entries are generated automatically to credit the production order:
If the costs for the production order are settled to a material account, the order is credited each time material is delivered to stock. The material stock account is debited accordingly.
If the costs for the production order are settled to another receiver (for example to a sales order), the order is credited automatically at the time of settlement. The cost-objects are debited accordingly.
Closing a Production Order
The Closed (CLSD) status has been introduced in the production order. It has the following characteristics:
No more costs can be posted to the order, that is, confirmations and goods movements are no longer permitted for the orderThe order can no longer be changed. Exceptions to this are revoking the CLSD status and setting the deletion flag.
All actions relating to the status technically completed (TECO) are executed.
In a collective order, the CLSD status is also set for subordinate orders.
If the system comes across an order in the collective order that cannot be closed, the orders that come between this order and the leading order are also not closed. Other subtrees are closed if they only contain orders that can be closed.
So for the above reasons all the individual orders need to be closed
Hope the above is clear
Reward points if useful

• Costing relevancy in BOM "X" is not active.

Dear Experts
After MRP run, trying to convert Planned order to Proc. order the costing relevancy in BOM "X" is not active. But when i am trying to create process order with manually(cor1) costing relevancy in BOM "X" is active. Can i know y this is happening??
Note: In Goods receipt TAB of procees order Goods recept non valuated check box is active.
Regards
Ragesh

please note sales order creation date is not relevant...when the system is reading the BOM is relevant to copy the BOM...just check the date of BOM explosition...
As I know it is just because of master data.
In routing...is it relavent to costing or not?
