Hi, actually there is, but you have to inquire according to Apple.com/za website. Here is the statement:
    Student Discounts
Students, staff and academic institutions are eligible for ongoing discounts on Apple products and solutions. Call 011 535 9080 for further information.

  • Am I eligible for student discount South Africa?

    Hi,
    I'm enrolled at DigitalTutors.com
Its a month-to-month payment system. I may go on for 2 years. They sell year memberships as a whole but not 2 years afaik.
Anyways, the eligibility form states it is only for America and Canada.
I tried speaking to a local South African reseller, but they said all docs go to Adobe HQ in the States and thus far the lady I'm talking to is going by American and Canadian regulations.
What's the deal for South African educational discounts?
Furthermore, any idea when Creative Cloud is coming to South Africa? Renting the stuff seems cheaper.
BUT - I'd like to know whether my digitaltutors.com subscriptions would make me eligible for a most welcome student discount. I'm looking at the Production Premium package, for Photoshop, After Effects and Illustrator.
ALSO - I own original Photoshop CS3 with CS4 upgrade Mac. I'd like to take advantage of the existing CS customer offer for $29.00 / month for Creative Cloud but I can't yet because it isn't in South Africa yet aaargh,
    Many thanks,
    Mike

  • Eligibility Guide for students in South Africa (Adobe Flash)

Where do I find the eligibility guide to purchase Adobe Flash for South African students?

Unable to find anything for CS6. Perhaps an employee may know a link, but it looks like Adobe is not selling CS6 under the student plan anymore.
You may be able to buy it through ProDesignTools: http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs5-5-student-teacher-editions-education.html

  • Campaign Response tracking

    Hi All,
How can we track responses from an Email based survey campaign in CRM 7.0 campaing automation?
I am using Mail form to send a survey to an target group and would like to track the responce for all the BP's. We can do it using Response ID in mail form? If yes, what all setting / config we need to use response ID functionality?
    Thanks,
    Nitin

    Hi Nitin,
Following are thesteps to track response for mail sent through a campaign,
    1. Generate URL for Survey and insert the Survey URL in Mail form.
    2. While inserting the Survey URL system gives you 3 option to select
         a. track via target site (used for URLs generated in SAP CRM)
         b. track via intermediate site (used for external URLs )
        c.  Without tracking. (if no tracking is required)
    3. Choose Option a. via target site to insert the Survey URL in mail form
    4. Assign the mail form and target group to a Campaign and execute.
    5. On getting response to Survey we can get response details through two standard reports Marketing Cotact List and Marketing Contact Summary based on the campaign.

  • Connecting a Community Center in Cape Town, South Africa

    Hi,
I'm working with a team of students in parternship with the One Laptop Per Child initiative.
We will be traveling to Cape Town, South Africa to distribute ~100 laptops.
I am the "tech guy" of the group of three and am in charge of networking the community center.
What router would you suggest?  What else should I be thinking about?  I've only worked with routers in a home/small business environment.
Thanks for the help.  It's for a good cause.
    Cheers

    Kindly provide additional information...
Are you planning to provide Internet Connection for all the Laptops wirelessly ?
What range(in feet) are you expecting from a Wireless Router ?

  • Got an iPhone 3G, but can't use most of the features in South Africa-HELP!

    Hi there.
I got my iPhone about 4-5 months ago in South Africa. I love the hardware, I love the way it looks, what you can do with it, etc. But there's one thing I find really really annoying, and that is the fact that I can't use the phone features that users in other countries have access to.
No, I haven't run into any technical problems.
The problem is that we have hardly anything available in our iTunes store. I invite you to switch your iTunes browser to the South Africa store and check it out... Yup, that's right, we have no music, movies, TV shows, podcasts or audiobooks. So what do we have? Some apps... yep some, but from the looks of it a greatly reduced list. Many apps I've found links to on the net, which people recommended, are simply not in our store. Even free apps, for example Google Earth.
But the most glaring omission is the Games category... yep, not a single game available to South African users.
So, to get an iPhone here requires a 2 year contract and another $300 on top of that for the 8GB version, so it surely isn't cheap... and yet I can't even make a custom ringtone because only music downloaded from the iTunes store can be used... I could do that on my very first Nokia phone which was a dinosaur w.r.t. technology compared to the iPhone.
    I honestly don't understand it...
So, what help do I need?
I need to find out who I can contact at Apple to reason with regarding the content of our iTunes store. I find it unacceptable that people who hack their phones have a FAR better experience than people who do the right thing. So, if you work at Apple and read this or you know someone at Apple that could perhaps help me find the correct person/people to talk to about this, then please please send me a mail with the appropriate details. My email address is [email protected] (yes, I'll even post my email address on a public forum )
I don't think I am being unreasonable to expect a good level of service for a high end product, and at this point I am really unhappy with the service. Not the customer support etc, in fact the people I've had contact with are helpful, except that they cannot provide me with the information I need.
If you can help, then thank you very much.
    Take care.
    - Emile

    Hi there.
Thank you neuroanatomist for the info on creating a ringtone. I'll try it.
I should perhaps have mentioned that I have tried all the official channels, including contacting support and sending feedback over the last couple of months. The support people sympathise but can't really help me and I haven't received anything w.r.t. the feedback I have sent, more than once.
I'm now turning to the other users in the hope that someone can get me into contact with a person/people inside Apple that might be able to shed more light on this.
I've already contacted our local distributors and my mobile phone provider and they have told me that it is Apple and only Apple who decide what is available in the store.
W.r.t. licensing etc, I suspect that there may be some legalities involved here, however it's not like we are on a different planet - we get the same DVDs and movies and TV programs here as everywhere else - just not on the iTunes store... So once again everything points back to Apple and not to local laws. As far as I know our laws w.r.t. media are pretty standard and mostly based on UK law, but I am no legal expert.
I would even be happy to get a "we know it's not great, we're working on it", or a "it may take some time, but hang in there" ... but I haven't even been able to get that... which is extremely frustrating.
    Take care,
    Emile.

  • URGENT Vodafone "vodacom" blackberry service stopped Working in CDMA phones in WHOLE South africa

customers using CDMA devices like storm 9530,tour 9630 ....can not use blackberry service due to vodafone "vodacom" netWork issues !!!!!!
it looks like they  have removed CDMA device identifiers for their BB service books, so any time a CDMA device attempts to re-register with the network (such as after an update), they cannot do so. and they blame it on the cdma phones ...........
here is vodacom comment regarding the issue:
VODAFONE WANTS US TO BUY NEW PHONES....!!!!!!
On behalf of Vodacom, kindly accept our sincere apology for the manner in which your enquiry was dealt with and for any inconvenience caused.
The Blackberry device you are using is a Blackberry CDMA device.
Blackberry CDMA devices are brought to South Africa from foreign networks.
Blackberry CDMA devices are experiencing problems with the Blackberry service due to the incompatibly of these CDMA devices with our GPRS/3G Networks.

  • IPhone 4 purchased in South Africa, being used in Toronto Canada?

    Hey everybody,
I have an iPhone 4 that I bought in South Africa. It was an unlocked phone in South Africa and could be used with any carrier. I have moved to Toronto, Canada and the phone is locked here. I have contacted one of the network providers back home and they said it possibly could be that the frequency that Canada uses and the carriers use, are not supported with my South African iPhone 4. Is this correct or is there anything I could do (besides putting it on e bay or sending it back home) to use it here in Canada? I have been to numerous Apple stores here and in New York and they tell me the phone is locked and there is nothing they can do to assist. I don't want the phone to be used just for calling and texting, I want the phone to be able to function the way a normal iPhone should with all data and interent capabilities.
    Please help.
I would highly appreciate some good advice.
    Thank you.

Indeed, iphone sold in South Korea is locked to SHOW even when you purchase it, but they changed it, SHOW now offers official unlocking according to this: http://smartblog.show.co.kr/249
It is in Korean and I can read them and it clearly says, that they will unlock the iphone if and only if it's purchased in Korea, that it's active (in Korea they do allow temporary stop if you are on a vacation or what (but of course they can't unlock it if the line is inactive, you still keep the number and you just pay the minimal), where in U.S it's either use it or terminate it), you can still have them unlock for you even if you are still under contract. It can take up to 3 days. and you will receive an sms what to do.
    This took effect on 9/10/10.

  • What is the stores with IPhone battery replacement in South Africa?

Hi there, I sent my Apple phone in to have the battery replaced and was told I must buy a refurbished phone at the cost of R1695.00 as the battery cannot be replaced by anyone in South Africa.  Is this true?

    Battery Replacement Service
If your iPhone requires service due to the battery’s diminished ability to hold an electrical charge and it is not covered under Apple's warranty or statutory consumer rights, please contact your carrier.
