why we are Submiting "Launch Auto create Configuration Items" request?
As if we submit "Launch Auto create Final Assembly" request is enough we get the JOB# right.
3) Could you tell me which scenarios we use VMI( Vendor Managed Inventory)..

There appear to be two issues here:
1) Using a GPS application on N95 with your consent to provide "buddy beacon" for friends or others, which your original posting seemed to imply.
2) "Big Brother" tracking without your consent, by which emergency or internal security services can determine your position by reference to mobile cell tower location. An example would be dialing "911" in USA in which location of caller needs to be available.

We can make non-base table columns non-updateable. I've just tried it with 9i Forms and I'm pretty sure this was true in Forms 4.5.

Steps for SD Variant Configuration
Some light on Variant Configuration in Detail.
The procedure is as follows:
1. Create a Material - KMAT type with Item category (002)
2. Create Charateristics in CT04 - Zbike, where in values mention the Color of the bile like Red, Blue etc
3. Create another characteristics in CT04 - ZPrice, where directly go the additional data tab and maintain the table SDCOM and field VKOND (ABAP Dictionary it will ask for)
4. Assign these two characteristics to a Class in CL01 - ZBikeclass ( Type 300) in characteristics tab page.
5. Then go to CU41 Configuration profile select the material and enter the description click on the class assignment ie assign Zbikclass.
Now go back to CT04 - enter Zbike -go to values- select Red- go to extras - Other Dependencies - Select Procedure enter in front 10 write - $self.ZPrice='Red' and save
6. Now go back go to extras - Other Dependencies - assignments and assign relationship ( by default it will come just save)
7. Now select Blue- go to extras - Other Dependencies - Editor - Select Procedure enter in front of 10 write - $self.ZPrice='Blue' and save
8. Now go back go to extras - Other Dependencies - assignments and assign relationship ( by default it will come just save)
9. Now go to VK11 - Enter VA00 (Condition)(For Std RVA001 Pricing Procedure) - enter variant Red and Blue give the rates accordingly and create the sales order.

Doubt regarding Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) installation

p4 2.4 ghz
win xp pro sp2
I want to know if my pc will be able to run " Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) " standard edition on it.

I know i could run oracle XE, but can my pc also run the standard edition.

I suggest you not to doubt regarding Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0) installation.
It is not necessary. If you don't receive an answer within a reasonable amount of time you could edit your thread with whatever ( a period is enough) to raise it to the top once again.
It becomes difficult for us to track duplicated threads and unnecessarily duplicates efforts.

Can anyone tell me whether Oracle's Manufacturing Scheduling provides an effective way to schedule complex manufacturing operations and roughly what it costs?
Our company, PlanetTogether, provides multi-user, add-on production order constraint-based scheduling and we're wondering whether it would make sense to become an Oracle Partner or to look for other Oracle resellers who might be interested in selling our product as an add-on to Oracle.

The "Unable to connect.." message can be a result of the protocol you selected. As mentioned above, HP Jetdirect is often the best because this is the same protocol used by Windows - called Standard TCP/IP or RAW Port 9100.
If you use LPD then sometimes you need a specific queue name. And IPP often has the same condition.
The other thing to check that the IP address you have entered is the copier and not some other device, like a Windows print server.
As for the FTP, you can open the Terminal application and type;
sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist
Press Return and when prompted, enter your admin account password and press Return.
Now that you have the FTP service running on the Mac you can create an address book entry in the copier to a folder in the users Home folder. The format for the address book is;
Protocol: FTP
Host Name: IP address of the Mac
File Path: Desktop/Scans *1
User: John Doe *2
Password: The password for the user account entered
Notes:
The file path is entered from the point of the users Home folder. For the example above, the user John Doe has a folder called Scans that resides on his Desktop. If the Scans folder resided under his home folder, then the path would just be Scans. Also note that no slash is required for the beginning of the file path and the type of slash used to separate folders.
You can use the full name or short name.

Could not load file or assembly 'Oracle.ManagedDataAccessDTC'

I'm a little bit stuck... I've been trying to replace System.Data.OracleClient in my application for a while now, and was very encouraged to see a managed DLL option.
I have followed the quick start instructions in the readme file, but my site returns this error on every page:
Could not load file or assembly 'Oracle.ManagedDataAccessDTC' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format.
My development machine is 64 bit, and my server is 32 bit. I've tried to include either version into the /bin directory in my web application, but there is no change to the error message. I've also tried setting "promotable transaction=local" in my connection string to try and mitigate the need for this assembly, and that doesn't change the error.
Interestingly (to others... to me it's terrifying) my application will no longer run even if I remove all references to the managed DLL, remove all 'using' statements, and try to revert my site back to the way it was... I am still getting the same error on load for any page.
As you might expect, I am a complete, total noob with Oracle. I'm about as lost as can be.

As a followup to this - I deleted everything off the server and republished. Then, watching the video, I followed along step by step. Everything appeared to work fine for my test page.
I am a little bit lost however, trying to implement this in the rest of my application. The documentation doesn't have an example (that I can see, anyway) for how to reference the managed client in the <connectionStrings> section of my web.config file.
I am also not too clear, if I need to have the tnsnames.ora file in my /bin/debug folder, if I have defined a connection string like this.

what is BAPI?
BAPI stands for Business API(Application Program Interface).
A BAPI is remotely enabled function module ie it can be invoked from remote programs like standalone JAVA programs, web interface etc..
You can make your function module remotely enabled in attributes of Function module but
A BAPI are standard SAP function modules provided by SAP for remote access. Also they are part of Businees Objest Repository(BOR).
BAPI are RFC enabled function modules. the difference between RFc and BAPI are business objects. You create business objects and those are then registered in your BOR (Business Object Repository) which can be accessed outside the SAP system by using some other applications (Non-SAP) such as VB or JAVA. in this case u only specify the business object and its method from external system in BAPI there is no direct system call. while RFC are direct system call Some BAPIs provide basic functions and can be used for most SAP business object types. These BAPIs should be implemented the same for all business object types. Standardized BAPIs are easier to use and prevent users having to deal with a number of different BAPIs. Whenever possible, a standardized BAPI must be used in preference to an individual BAPI.
The following standardized BAPIs are provided:
Reading instances of SAP business objects
GetList ( ) With the BAPI GetList you can select a range of object key values, for example, company codes and material numbers.
The BAPI GetList() is a class method.
GetDetail() With the BAPI GetDetail() the details of an instance of a business object type are retrieved and returned to the calling program. The instance is identified via its key. The BAPI GetDetail() is an instance method. BAPIs that can create, change or delete instances of a business object type
The following BAPIs of the same object type have to be programmed so that they can be called several times within one transaction. Create( ) and CreateFromData! ( )
The BAPIs Create() and CreateFromData() create an instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. These BAPIs are class methods.
Change( )
The BAPI Change() changes an existing instance of an SAP business object type, for example, a purchase order. The BAPI Change () is an instance method.
Delete( ) and Undelete( ) The BAPI Delete() deletes an instance of an SAP business object type from the database or sets a deletion flag.

The steps to be followed are :
1. Find out the relevant BAPI (BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE for VA02).

Bapi to VB(Visual Basic)
Long back I had used the following flow structure to acheive the same.
Report -> SM59 RFC destination -> COM4ABAP -> VB.exe
my report uses the rfc destination to create a COM session with com4abap. com4abap calls the vb.exe and manages the flow of data between sap and vb exe.
You need to have com4abap.exe
If com4abap is installed you will find it in sapgui installatin directory , C:\Program Files\SAPpc\sapgui\RFCSDK\com4abap.
else refer OSS note 419822 for installation of com4abap
after making the settings in com4abap to point to the vb program and setting up rfc destination in sm59 to point to com4abap session , you can use the following function modules to call the vb code.

Has anyone tried the new MS Oracle DataProvider ?

Hi all.
Has anyone tried the Microsoft issued Oracle .Net data provider? I am not fond of switching horses in midstream (have been struggling with ODP for a few weeks). I do not like the ODP for these reasons...
1) Documentation is really non-existant/useless especially where hueristics and 'gotchas' are concerned
2) it is a HUGE install (why I have no idea)
3) some things simply do not work (like my recent rants on trying to return varchar2's from stored procs and functions).
Is the MS any better ?

Hi,
1) There is a pdf doc and integrated help which comes with the ODP.NET. There are a few gotchas which could cause some hair-pulling moments. Sometimes it helps to read the same doc several times to really know what to do.
But instead of wasting time reading the doc, the samples cover most of the typical cases. (i think it includes your varchar2 output bind case).
2) The huge install is due to Oracle Client 9. The provider needs several dlls beyond Oracle.DataAccess.dll and OraOps9.dll. There are some other oracle standard dependencies also. MS provider for oracle will have the same issue (I think they need oracle client install also).
There a few post where the `Instant client install` is going to solve that.
But the thin client (like JDBC thin driver for oracle) is still (IMHO) the best solution for the huge install problem.
3) See my reply in the other post. (try the sample also)
Finally, which some other posters have mentioned before: Good luck looking for help for MS's provider when you are stuck.

I have one requirement, if i excute a report am getting report output, from here if i clickes its enters the VD02 transaction, from there user can enter customer change option. Using vd02 user can change the customer details.
But in customer details i need only display format, for that basis person currently having a ZROLE.
I want to know how to include selected fields under this role?* This is a Basis activity or ABAP Activity.*
Basis team told that its a abap activity, create a z field group and give to us, we will add this zfield group into that particullar ZROLE.
Is its correct?

I believe your BASIS Team is right. They can only restrict upto the Txn Code Level from the BASIS Security feature.

Oracle 11i - Collection Plans (Discrete Manufacturing)

In Oracle Quality, Collection Elements can use SQL validation code to provide a LOV for data entry into a Collection Plan.
Collection Element values can also be determined using SQL code that includes using Token field values for data already entered into the current Collection Plan (e.g. JOB) as part of the query. However, the result of this query must be a unique value.
Can anyone tell me if its possible to use Token fields from Collection Elements already entered into a Collection Plan as part of the validation code to display a LOV?
I cannot see any way to do this.

Visit MacUpdate or CNET Downloads and search for browsers. However, I doubt you will find any contemporary browsers that work with Panther.
Have you considered upgrading your OS, if possible, or getting a newer computer?

AOL (like other Mail providers) occasionally has server problems (I use AOL mail and it happens to me once in awhile).
However, if it does not clear up after a bit, open Mail. Click on Window>connection doctor. There should be indications of what is wrong.

For Prefetch:
Disable Caching: 0
Cache Applications Only: 1
Cache Boot Files Only: 2
Cache Everything (default): 3
For SuperFetch:Disable Caching: 0
Cache Boot Processed Only: 1
Cache Applications Only: 2
Cache Everything (default): 3
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger\ReadyBoot\Start value means:
disable: 0
enable: 1
