Could App settings disable VisualVoicemail audio on some BT headsets?

My Discovery 925 was enabled for visual voicemail audio with the 2.0 firmware; audio was lost after the 2.01 firmware update. I am not certain about the exact timing, but noticed I could no longer listen to VVM after performing the update and that the "Audio" button on the upper right corner of the VVM screen had changed to "Speaker". After updating to 2.01 firmware, various problems with my handset forced me to perform a full restore to factory settings. After this restore, the VVM "Audio" button was restored to the upper right corner, and VVM audio was enabled for at least two message taking sessions.
In the meantime, I restored many Apps and Web Apps to my handset and proceeded to redo the settings for each App.
Could it be that certain Apps contaminate the environment and cause a disabling of audio on my 925?
If so what kind of App would be most likely to disable this particular feature?
Otherwise, the 925 gives me great, clear transmission and reception.

  • How to update the apps while disable Settings General Restrictions Installing Apps  ??

    Hi
I will give my old iPad to my mom and I would like to disable  "Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing Apps"  so that she or other famliy kids will not unintentionally install some bad/garbage apps.
But I found a problem, without Apps Store, the apps already there will not be updated any more !!  Am I right?
It seems that we need Apps Store for apps update, but disabling the "Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing Apps" will remove the Apps Store.
Does anybody know any way to work around? I mean the apps already there could be update while "Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing Apps" is disabled.
    Thanks a lot !!

You mean I need to unhidden the App Store everytime when I want to update the apps ?
And then re-hidden the App Store to enforce the restriction again?
It is reasonable, but sounds like ... not that handy ......
I just wonder could I use "icloud" to enforce the apps update??
Purchases, yes, but I don't think it works for updates.

  • In-App Purchasing disabled. Check your parental control settings and try again

I have played games for quite a while and have used the purchased many "lives" for games, etc. For about a week now, whenever I go to purchase some like this, I receive the following error message: "In-App purchasing disabled. Check your parental control settings and try again later."
I have read the threads about this and have done everything that was said to do. I go to settings > General > Restrictions. I ensured that "enable Restrictions" is turned off.
But I still receive the same error message. I have an ipad 2 with IOS 7.1.
ANy further ideas? Is there something in the iTunes store that needs to be checked?
I've about given up. Thanks for any help

I will try doing this, but I would like to add ... if I'm playing Candy Crush and want to buy additional lives, etc., I have no problem in purchasing them. Could it be the specific game that is not allowing me to buy anything? And I know this doesn't make much sense either, but I'm grasping at anything here because I've purchased them before.
You said to turn on in app purchases .. When I go into Settings > General, I'm ensuring that Restrictions are Disabled, correct? I can see the "in-App purchases" but I'm not able to do anything with it since my restrictions are disabled ... Is this correct? I'm a little confused here.

  • No Audio on some third party apps?

I just recently bought my iPad 2. I loaded most of my apps, music, movies onto the device as you would with any new toy. But now some third party apps do not have audio. I tried Angry Birds RIO HD, Angry Birds, etc. nothing. When I use Garageband and iMovie the speaker and headphones work fine. Any one have suggestions?

I solved the problem. I must have switched from Mute to Lock Rotation while playing an app so it freaked out the iPad, all I had to do was switch back turn it on and off and it worked!

  • How to disable the audio track in QT Pro Movie Recording

I have a device that allows me to record DVI video (1900x1200 uncompressed) into QuickTime Pro through the Movie Recording function. It all works very well except I am trying to record video only (it's the video output of a medical device, so there is no sound). In QT pro preferences, the choices for audio input are "automatic", built-in microphone", or "line-in". I need the choice of "none" (at these files sizes I need all of the CPU's resources working on the video to improve continuity and frame rate). Does anyone know of a script to disable the audio recording portion, or how I might write one? I have never written script before, but that won't stop me from trying to learn how (or rather, launching into a prolonged period of trial and error).
I am also going to approach this by nagging the video device manufacturer, but they are more Windows- centric (they do support Mac OS X and some Linux platform so all hope is not lost). However, it would be easier if I could have more control over my own destiny, and Mac folk seem to be much more helpful.
Thanks in advance to anyone who may be able to help.

First, thanks for the quick reply.
Setting the audio option to line-in with nothing plugged in yields the same results. The device (which is essentially a continuous frame grabber) doesn't have any audio feed at all, and I think that is what is confusing QuickTime. The file I record generates one video track and several sequential audio tracks that start at roughly every 4 seconds. The movie info say that these are Big Endian Stereo L&R tracks, and that have virtually no file size to speak of. Audibly there is nothing. However, the constant "start over" with the audio is causing 2-3 second skips in the video. When the video is recording contiguously, the frame rates are on the order of 15 to 20 fps, which at 1900x1200 is fantastic for what I am doing (software training video of a Linux-based medical device; nothing cool like Snapz available for this beast).
By the way, I have tried Hack TV Carbon, hTV 0.2 and QT Broadcaster, all which will recognize the device as an input source, but not choose it. These would let me deselect the audio input. As mentioned, I am prodding the device manufacturer for help, too, so maybe they will come up with something to address this.
The other thing is that this device creates a video stream that is transferred by USB2. If it was a Firewire device, I would be all over this with iMovie HD or a HD Video recorder, and just be done with it. Apple may have to come up with some universal driver to accept USB video in since they have dropped FW on some of the new models, but this frame grabber isn't on the list as of now.
No real solution I can find to convert USB to Firewire.
Anyway, I am hoping that somehow I could get into the QT script and just disable the audio recording, like the old "save as Un-editable" script would pullout the "save" function of the QuickTime action.
Of course, dumping the audio tracks after the fact doesn't fix the video; once it's chopped up coming in...
I suspect that the real answer to this issue lies with the frame grabber manufacturer. But, I am still hopeful that the QuickTime Script writers out there (or the Terminal folks) may have something up their sleeves.
    Thanks for noticin' me.

  • Disable all audio in OSX how?

I really need to disable all audio output from OS 10.4.8
Is there some terminal command I can use or maybe a utility.
Muting or lowering the volume is not an option, nor is removing the speaker.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

I haven't tried it myself, but you could try going to /System/Library/Components and removing or renaming CoreAudio.component, then reboot your computer.
Make sure you have a backup before you do this; I have no idea what sort of system instability it might cause, if any.

  • How do I delete the factory app settings on my iPod Touch?

How do I delete the factory app settings on my iPod Touch? For instance: I don't want the app "Stocks" to appear on my screen any more. Is there a way to delete/hide it?

The built in Apps can't be deleted, but they can be moved to an unused screen. You could create a folder of all unused Apps and move it.

  • Default app settings won't stay.

So none of my default app settings in Lion ever stick! They always reset back to the Apple defaults. And yes, I do the whole 'Get Info' thing, and tell it to apply the desired app to all files like that one. But once I restart, the settings revert. Is this a bug? Some weird permissions issue I need to fix? Yes, I repaired them. Still happens. Anyone? Oh, and I don't upgrade becuase my MacPro is too old. It can't!

  • Background app refresh disabled

    Hello all,
I love running, and therefore I've used Nike+ running for many years now. Currently I use an iPhone 5s, with iOs 8.1 When starting the app, the message "Background App Refresh Disabled, Open settings and enable Background App Refresh so that we can track your runs in the background". However, when I look this up in settings there is no Nike+ in that list to activate. So, At this moment, I'm no longer able to use this app.
What's wrong? How come that my girlfriend (iPhone 5C, iOs 8.1) doesn't have this problem?
    I've tried:
    - Reinstalling the app
    - Downloading the app on my phone with my girlfriends Apple ID
Anyone out there with a possible solution?
    Bye

Thought I'd reply to this seen as no one else has, I am also experiencing very similar problems with my 4s and by the looks of it is it's across all handsets. I've never had any battery issues with my iPhone even 7.0.6 was fine, but since updating to 7.1 the battery is ticking down very fast. I fully charged in the morning and left it in my locker all day at work when I got my hands on it it's gone down to 52% just on its own!!
I really hope they sort this out fast the irony is 7.1 was supposed to help battery life!

  • Change capture settings to 32k audio sample rate???

I have a DVCAM tape that my client recorded and the audio sample rate is 32k. I have noticed that the audio seems to get out of sync when I capture it using the 48k NTSC. I also get a warning saying that my source tape's audio sample rate doesn't match the capture settings and that audio could be out of sync. I looked at past posts and it does seem to be the 32k verses 48k.
My question is how do I change my capture settings to 32k? I see how you do it on the sequence settings, but I can't figure it out on the capture settings.
    Thanks,
    John Schenkel

    John,
I recently read a post where there were four likely answers to the problem, yet I was not sure which one was the best solution.
Why? Because even though the question was marked as answered the person posting the original question didn't mark which individual's answer was the solution.
Please help future users to find answers more quickly, who knows, you may find yourself in the same situation someday.

  • Override/disable a monitor for some machines

    Hi All,
Not sure where the best place for this question is!
I want to override an alert SCOM is generating. The alert is "
    Static MAC Address is Invalid"
Right clicking the alert displays an item in the context menu called "View or edit the settings of this monitor". What I'd like to do is disable this monitor for some computers. What would be the best way to do this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
In Authoring, Groups – create a group with the servers.
In “View or edit the settings of this monitor” – choose the Override Pane and override for a group

  • Problem with app settings/saves

    Hi guys,
First post so go easy : )
Anyway, I just got a new computer and I've used a portable HDD to transfer my library over from my laptop; everything is fine and I’ve authorized the computer to have access to my purchased music/ videos/ apps etc. However, I just connected my iphone to the computer and got a message asking to erase and sync the iphone to the new library. This was expected but I’ve just had a thought: if my apps get erased from the iphone then reinstalled will this delete my app settings / saved games. I’m worried because I had an incident a few months back when I decided to remove all my apps from the iphone to save space; I thought all the saved games etc. would be stored on my pc, since I never deleted the apps from library, but when I went to reinstall the apps I found all the data had been lost (my high scores!!!).
I had a thought that I could create a backup of my iphone on my old laptop (right click iphone and click backup). I could then sync my iphone with the new computer, transfer the backup across and right click the iphone to restore settings; however, I don’t know if this would work.
    Any help would be great.

    Thanks for the reply.
Firstly, I am on windows vista. Next, I mentioned that I’ve transferred my library across to my new computer with no problems; I’m also aware that after the 'erase and sync' process all my music, apps etc. will be put back on my iphone. The thing that concerns me is that removing an app from the phone seems to lose all its settings (even if you don’t remove it form iTunes library); is this case for you?
Hence, I would expect the ‘erase and sync’ process to remove my apps (losing the app settings) and then put the apps back on my phone with no previous associated data. If this is the case, is it possible to copy the backup ‘C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\...’ from my old laptop, then erase and sync my iphone to the library on my new computer before restoring settings from this backup (id have to manually paste it into the same folder on the new computer).

  • HT201840 Hi, Could i connect a JBL audio and here by the 2 ways, jbl and original sound of the mac, tks...

Hi, Could i connect a JBL audio and here by the 2 ways, jbl and original sound of the mac, tks...

JBL makes many different speakers.    And there are many different kinds of iMac PPC.     The G5 has mini-Toslink audio (supporting up to 5.1 DTS sound), and the G4 has a special digital audio port for which most speakers don't have an adapter.  Apple though did make some globe like speakers to put on either side of that iMac that connected via that digital audio port.
Otherwise you are left with line-level output through the headphone port of the iMac G4 or G3, which means you need amplified speakers and standard minijack RCA connector.
