Could I connect my PS3 to my Dell Flat-panel LED Monitor (s2309w)?

So I own a dell 23 widescreen flat-panel led monitor (s2309w), is there some type of chord that I could buy to connect it to my PS3? This is what I have:

Simple answer is, you're not gonna be able to get audio with only your PS3, and that monitor without a receiver of some sort, or a TV with audio input.

Greetings.
I am looking into purchasing a MacBook Pro, but as I am new to Mac, I was hoping I could get some help in terms of hooking it up to a second monitor for video editing. The Apple display is out of my price range, but I have access to some great Dell flat monitors - a 19 inch display and a 20.1 widescreen display.
Is it possible to hook these PC monitors up to a Macbook Pro? I've read that Apple displays hook up to the MacBook Pro via DVI. Is this possible to do with the Dell monitor? How would I connect it?

You'll be able to use it in three different modes:
"extended" which extends your desktop across to span across the monitors
"mirror" which creates the clone you were thinking of
Both of these are chosen in the displays pane of system prefs.
The third mode is where the MBP is closed, so your only desktop is on the external monitor. You get this by closing the lid, which puts your MBP to sleep, then clicking the mouse to wake it up on the external. Note that you have to have an external mouse and keyboard hooked up, and the MBP has to be plugged in, not running on battery.
Once you're in this mode, if you open the lid on your MBP you won't see anything there. Hit cmd-F2 and the mode will switch to extended.

I just bought this monitor, and now realize it doesn't have speakers in it. I don't see where I would add them. Can anyone help? Could you please tell me know kind of speakers would work, and how I would attach them? Kind of defeats the purpose if I can't listen to music or watch movies. Thank you!

You would need a display port to HDMI adapter. One of the newer features (which the 2012 iMac has) is that it can display this type of content like a DVD player to the iMac.

Use the above link to review that item. It also has a DVI adapter that you would not use. But the display port to HDMI is the correct item. Then you connect the PS3 to the hdmi on it. I don't think it would passthrough audio though so you would have to figure something out for sound.

I've rencently tried to download some tunes from the Music store but keep getting this error message:

The answer is probably "No".
An Ultra-2 only has SBUS and UPA slots (no PCI slots), and few of the qualified graphics boards had HD15 connectors. There was no integrated graphics. All system administration could be done via command-line through its serial port.
The default screen output of a Sun system is 1152x900 at a vertical refresh rate of 66Hz. The best you are likely to see on that PeeCee flat panel screen is a scrambled "something" that may eventually make your eyes hurt.
When you say "Sun Graphics adaptor HD15F" are you are simply stating there seems to be a familiar graphics shape on the system or are you asking about some sort of adapter cable? That doesn't tell us the actual card that is in the system.
Keep in mind that you are asking about hardware that is probably 15 years old.
It may have been cutting edge back then, but it has been very much passed since that time.
For a more precise answer, you will need to open the computer, remove the graphics board, and copy the part number from its barcode paper sticker. We would need the first seven digit (something such as 501-4790xxxx ).
You could have posted this hardware question to the [Hardware Forum|http://forums.sun.com/forum.jspa?forumID=828] you know, or even just search that forum for whatever you might need. This topic has been discussed over there many times in the past five or six years.

i like to connect my ps3 to my fatality soundcard and hear my ps3 sound in windows
i got an obtical cable and hooked it up both of em together but im not sure where to go fromt here becuase im a bit clueless what to do in windows and im not exactly sure what obtical settings i should use on my ps3 hehe. where should i go from here? thx

Hey! I already tried this and if you dont have a problem with 'just stereo sound', it will work.
Just connect your PS3 with the optical cable to the 'Digital (optical) In' port on your soundcard.
Then enable the Digital In - port in the 'Volume Mixer' of creatives soundconsole and set up you PS3 that it gives you the sound out of your digital (optical) cable. You can find this option in "Settings -> Audio Settings".
If this does not work, enable multi audio out (also in audio settings) of your PS3.
Now your soundcard should pass through the audio signal coming from your PS3.
I still do not know how to set up a 5. PS3. sound with your PC, but I think you have to buy a soundcard with an integrated DTS/ Dolby Digital DEcoder. Another option might be to software decode the signal, but I'm not sure, whether there is such a software.

"itunes could not connect..."

I keep getting the error message "itunes could not connect to the itunes store..." I can connect just fine to the internet and other computers on my LAN work just fine. I've reset all of IE's settings and have disable usage of any proxy servers. Here is what itunes network diagnostics tells me. I've had the same problem as frozenchipmunk re: "itunes could not connect to the itunes store. The network connection was refused." This problem had started about two weeks ago for no obvious reason. I have other PC & Mac computers connected via wireless to the same network without any itunes music store connection issues. I've performed the suggestions on this and other discussions without results. Interestingly, I can connect to the internet without a problem, but noticed I cannot connect using certain programs such as Google Earth (also a recent problem...related to the itunes issue?)
I'd love to also be able to download podcasts via itunes but that is also not possible! Any ideas out there?

Can anyone help with the error message, "iTunes could not connect to iTunes Store. An unknown error occurred (-3237).

I had a similar problem. We've had multiple iPods, an iPod and my wife's iPhone 4s that sync just fine with our PC. Unfortunately, I could not get my new iPhone 5 to sync with iTunes. I kept getting an error message similar to the one that you are getting.
I simply plugged the USB for the iPhone into different USB ports. I am certainly not a computer expert, but my understanding is that some of the PCs have different types of USB ports. Apparently, the USBs on the back of my Dell desktop won't allow me to sync the phone, but the USB port on the front works just fine.
I'm not sure if this is a fix for everyone, but it worked for me. Good luck!

ITunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection...

I was messing around with services and startup items a few days ago to try to get other software to work...I think I might have screwed up iTunes. I can't connect to the store anymore. I get the following error.

Obviously, my network is working since I'm able to do this, play Warcraft and all sorts of other things. iTunes is the only thing having a problem. I made sure that Bonjure was enabled, but I don't know what other services/startup items iTunes needs. Here's my diagnostic

My itunes is not working [itunes could not connect to itunes store]

My itunes has not been working for at least a month now. It keeps saying the same thing: Itunes could not connect to the itunes store. The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are correct your network connection is active, then try again." There is nothing wrong with my internet. What is the problem and how can I fix it?

I've been having the same problem tonight off and on. I've also been having issues with updating my podcast. Are these issues related and cause by problems with iTunes?
