Could I  upgrade my T135 to a processor i5 450M?
it would overheat?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

how could iI upgrade my OS from Mac OS 10.5.8 to the Latest version Mountain Lion

    Hello,
You need to get 10.6 & update to 10.6.8 first to be able to buy it from the App Store & download it.
    Snow Leopard/10.6.x Requirements...
    General requirements
       * Mac computer with an Intel processor
        * 1GB of memory (I say 4GB at least, more if you can afford it)
        * 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)
        * DVD drive for installation
        * Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.
        * Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.
Which apps work with Mac OS X 10.6?...
    http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/
It's been pulled from the online store, so you have to call Apple to buy it, last I heard, but quick, call before it's gone!
    Call Apple 1-800-MY-APPLE
You have to get 10.6.8 first to go even higher to 10.7 or 10.8

Could I upgrade the Graphic Card to 1GB? my current Graphic is 256.

You refer to an article about updating software. But the graphics card is hardware.
You can upgrade the graphics card on MacPros but on other Macs the graphics card is part of the processor, so it would be very costly. Also, not exactly a do-it-yourself job.

  • Could I upgrade my 2008 r2 Standard license to Enterprise ?

Could I upgrade my 2008 r2 Standard license to Enterprise ?
is there anything related to 2012 licenses ??

    Hi,
There are no possibility to upgrade your 2008 R2 Standard Edition to Enterprise Edition. It was possible only before the availability of the 2012 Version for customers with active Software assurance for Standard Edition in open value with the step UP license
    from Standard to Enterprise.
Actually, the only way to have the 2008 R2 enterprise Edition is to purchase the Standard Edition of Windows Server 2012 R2 Version than you may downgrade to the Enterprise Edition 2008 R2.
Note: for Enterprise Edition 2008 R2 you have one physical + 4 VMs. if you downgrade your Standard Edition 2012 R2 to Enterprise 2008 R2, you receive only 2 VMs for your Enterprise Edition. If you wants to have 4 VMs, than you need two Windows Server 2012
    R2 Standard Edition licenses.
    I hope is helpful
    thanks

  • Could not upgrade online and select in-store pickup

Could not upgrade online and select in-store pickup. I tried several times on my phone and on my computer. Just no option was on site to select for in-store pickup.
I finally used the chat now to get help. The person said they could help me with this. All this person did did was give me a toll free number to call. I could have just called the toll free number myself, without using the chat now.  When I called the toll free number, the person then passed me along to someone else.  The 3rd CS rep called a store to make sure they had the phones in stock that I was upgrading to. Did this CS rep set me up for in-store pickup? No,, again I was given another phone number and name of person to call and talk to. This was the sales clerk at the Verizon store that I use. The sales clerk could not and would not set up an appt. for today (Fri), due to IPhone6 release so have to wait til Sat.
Not one single CS even attempted to help get my online order placed and to use in-store pickup. I have used online help chat many times with other companies and they always got things set up for you. I hope the store clerk is more helpful than Verizon's customer service was (or lack of service).

Welcome to the forum, abc002, congratulations on your new home!
It can be fun to shop for cool fun things for a new place, so I’m sure you were excited to receive a 10% off coupon just by registering your new address with USPS.
As you may be aware of, there are many different versions of our Mover’s Coupon available, and it’s one reason why we must adhere to the terms and conditions stated on the coupon. If your individual coupon states it’s available in-store only, we’d be unable to apply it to an online order.

  • I have an early 2008 Macbook-- which components (hard drive/processor/ram?) could I upgrade myself?

And does anyone know models of especially hard drives or processors that would be compatible?  Thanks!

You can upgrade both the RAM and the hard drive yourself. Both are very easy to do. These are good online stores for Mac compatible RAM. The model 4,1 (Early 2008) can use 6gb of 200 pin 667mhz PC2-5300 RAM
OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/ - They offer Mac tested RAM at very good prices.
Crucial Memory http://www.crucial.com/ - good place to buy RAM from all over the world. They also have an excellent memory selector that allows you to choose memory based on your computer's model
Data Memory Systems http://www.datamemorysystems.com/apple-memory.asp - another good, cheap place to buying RAM if you live in the U.S.

To transfer your current hard drive I like the free application Carbon Copy Cloner. It makes a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive http://www.bombich.com/index.html You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.

  • Firefox worked fine until upgraded to Windows 7 - would processor speed be the problem - everything else is fine.

I have Firefox 28 which worked fine when I had Windows XP. Upgraded to WIndows 7 (updated all my drivers, etc). Now Firefox has times when it will not respond. Have tried most suggested fixes I could find on here and on-line. Nothing fixes it. It worked fine before the upgrade. This may sound like a dumb question to computer savy people, but would the older dual core processor be having a problem now that I am running Windows 7? Everything works great on the computer except for Firefox and Internet Explorer. I download Google Chrome and so far have not had an issue when using it. I don't care for it and would like to go back to Firefox, but the fixes don't fix it. I have uninstalled and re-installed and disabled plug-ins and removed and added and updated plug-ins, ran various virus/spyware scans, reset, downgraded to an older version, upgraded again, and a ton of other fixes. I wish I could figure out what changed from Windows XP to Windows 7 that would affect both browsers.

I doubt that the processor is the problem here. It might be that something went wrong with your browsing profile during the operating system upgrade.
One thing you can try is to reset your profile: in the "Help" menu, there is an entry "Troubleshooting Information". Clicking on that takes you to a page containing technical information about your machine and browser configuration. Additionally, it has a "Reset Firefox" button in the upper-right corner. Clicking on that starts a process that allows you to create a new, clean profile that contains your browsing history and bookmarks, but does away with potentially-problematic settings in your profile. (Don't worry, your original profile will be left untouched and you can return to it later.)
In many cases, this process solves issues people have with their browser misbehaving, so I hope it works for you, too.

  • Upgrading to intel core2 quad processor

    Hi
I am thinking of upgrading one our systems to use the Intel Core 2 Quad processor and with 8 to 16 gb of memeory ,And I was wondering if any one is runing Adobie Premiere CS3 and had any information or advise. We are heavy Affter Effects users.
    Thaks Ken

    32 bit OS = MAX 4GB
Under a 64 bit OS and 64 bit version of CS3 it could use up to 16 or 32GB I believe.
    EDIT: a 32bit version of CS3 under a 64bit OS = still 4GB Max RAM.

  • Upgrading of 3000 N100's processor

    Hi,
I have a 3000 N100 (076859G) laptop and don't want to buy a new laptop at the moment since I still really enjoy this one. I have allrerady upgraded the hard disk which is now a 7200t/m HDD, 250 G and which works just very fine and fast. I have allready upgraded the memory to 2G too. I'm running Win XP SP3 and I don't think to install Vista or 7.
    The questions are :
    - I would like to upgrade the processor now, but don't know wich one to choose for my mobo ?
    - Will this upgrade cause an overheat and force the processor's/system's fan(s) to run at max speed and thus become very noisy ?
    - Does it worth doing it in terms of performance ?
    - If I can upgrade to a processor with 64bits technology, will I be able to run some 64bits OS on my N100 ?
Here are some technical details about my system config :
    - Laptop product number : 076859G
    - Chipset : Intel i945PM
    - Processor :  Intel Core Duo T2400 @ 1833 MHz
    - Processor Socket/Slot : U2E1
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards

    Welcome Egg!
I upgraded with the T5600, no overheating, performance improved
over my original T2060. Worth it for me, as I got the cpu on eBay
for about $50 USD. You have a faster cpu to start with, so you may
see less of a speed boost.
64 bit can be used, but may be more problematic with drivers.
I don't see the advantage with only 2 GB ram, but you may have
    a reason.
Here is the cpu list from the Hardware and Maintenance Manual:
    CPUS:
    Intel Core Solo processor T1300(1.6GHz)
    Intel Celeron M 420(1.6GHz),
    Celeron M 430(1.73GHz)
    Intel Pentium dual-core processor T2060(1.6GHz)
    Intel Core Duo processor T2250(1.73GHz),
    T2350(1.86GHz),
     T2300(1.66GHz),
     2300E(1.66GHz),
    T2400(1.83GHz),
    T2500(2GHz)
Intel Core 2 Duo processor T5200(1.6GHz),
     T5500(1.66GHz),
    T5600(1.83GHz),
     T7200(2GHz)
As you can see, a T7200 is possible, and others on the forum
    have said it works good.

  • Opinions sought: could Yosemite upgrade affect hardware?

    Hi there,
I installed Yosemite on my late-2010 MacBook Pro last week and had a whole host of problems, including an erratic/unresponsive trackpad, which got worse the longer the computer was running.
Due to some poor decisions on my part [!] I ended up with a totally broken machine, so reinstalled Snow Leopard from DVD. Thought the trackpad would work normally again, but the problem persisted, albeit to a lesser degree. Mentioned it to a friend, saying it was odd as I'd not had dropped my laptop or had any spills and she told me that someone she knows at Apple had said that software upgrades could, in fact, affect the hardware.
Roll forward a week, I'm at the Genius Bar explaining my story and the Genius talks to his manager. Comes back and insists that because the trackpad issue happens on two operating systems, it must be a coincidence that it happened at the same time as I installed Yosemite, and as the machine is out of warranty I'll have to pay for a new trackpad to be installed. Seeing thousands of people here and on Reddit etc. with difficulties after upgrading makes me suspicious that we've all had coincidences like this, but maybe he was right... I notice in the work authorisation document, he didn't make any mention of installing Yosemite, which has annoyed me a bit.
I'm mostly curious what people think. I'm not too upset about having to pay for a £70 repair on a four-year-old machine, even though in my head I'm utterly convinced it was because of the Yosemite upgrade that it stopped working. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks for your time, knowledgeable Apple Support Communities users!

Was definitely worth leaving it to the professionals then!
I have it back now. They blamed a liquid spill... that happened so long ago (mid-August – when I said in my original post I'd not had any spills, I meant since I'd upgraded to Yosemite last week) that I didn't think it could possibly be that. So lesson learned, a liquid spill that doesn't cause a single problem for three months can suddenly cause your computer to become totally useless.
But they've also reinstalled Yosemite, so I feel like I've got a new computer for £70 or so, which is pretty sweet. And they said between 3-5 days, but I had it back within 24 hours.
