Could neither send nor receive emails

I could neither send nor receive emails even though I already sent the Service Books. I also contacted the network service provider and they then relayed to me that my Blackberry subscription is active.
Anybody could possibly help me out on the next steps? Thanks.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
I believe you have done a portion of this, but not the entire thing. Therefore, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Batt Pull Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS configuration for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you need to continue working with your service provider...they are responsible for delivering all service as well as formal support to you...right now, they seem to be delivering neither. Further, they have the power to escalate into BlackBerry cases that they cannot handle.
Good luck!

  • I frequently receive a "connection time out" message and can neither send nor receive email.

SOMETIMES exiting and reopening Thunderbird helps; SOMETIMES frequently checking for new mail and/or hitting the send button helps -- and sometimes nothing helps, not even rebooting. My internet connection via my browser works, and I am able to open links in older emails even when I cannot send or receive.
I am using 24.6.0 with Win 7 Ultimate.

Anti virus as you are probably aware operates on many different levels. The most obvious have been closed off. Lets try the second most obvious, real time scanning.
I have no idea what you use and they all use different terminology for basically the same things, so you will have to read between the lines a bit.
You have disabled the email scanning, now create an exception in the anti virus real time scanner for your [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb#w_where-is-my-profile-stored Thunderbird profile] folders.
Thunderbird uses a single file per folder to store mail and the anti virus can slow things to a crawl scanning those very large files every-time something is added or removed or a folder is changed. An exception means that does not happen and the folder is only scanned when a "full system" scan is done. This does not stop memory scanning or scanning of attachments when they are opened.

  • I cannot send nor receive emails. The message I get is that I need to type in my account password which I've done but still unable to send or receive. I get texts fine

My Iphone 4 is new, and I have been able to send and receive texts, but cannot send nor receive emails. I get the message that I need to input my password for my yahoo account which I've done many times. When I type messagefor outgoing it only allows me to save as a draft. Any ideas?

Are you positive you're typing the correct password in? You might want to try and reset your password, and try again.  You'll get texts because it isn't connected to your email account.

  • Cannot send nor receive email on new iMac; migrated settings from MacBook

I just recently bought a new aluminum iMac. I migrated files & settings, including Mail settings from my MacBook to the iMac. Despite the copied settings, I cannot send nor receive messages on the new iMac. I have always been able to send & receive e-mail on my MacBook, so I would think the same settings should work on the iMac.
I have tried Connection Doctor, and I am getting successful connections on both the POP Account and SMTP server.
I have compared settings between the MacBook & iMac, and they are the same. My MacBook uses Tiger and doesn't have the option of default & custom ports. It is set to port 25. I have tried custom ports of 25 & 587 on the new iMac as well as the default port option. None of those seem to work.
Is there something else that could be wrong or anything else I can try? Thanks ahead of time for any assistance.

    This might work:

I just installed the OS X Maverick 10.9.4 and Mail does not work at all. It looks like there was not internet connection. But there is. None of the accounts work (iCloud, Gmail, etc.) All of them work when using the web version. It is just Mail that does not work. What to do??? I can't use Mail at all.

  • Can't send/nor receive email

I have been unable to received/send emails for the past 6 hours. I called my ISP and we went over all the configurations and seemingly everything was up to snuff. I am able to receive/send emails if I log into the ISP website and get it from the server. This is not useful as I cannot copy my address book, nor can I use the icon in the dock. I am using version 3.6. The message I keep getting is 'the POP server “pophm.sympatico.ca” rejected the password for user .....(my email address)...'
I changed my password with the help of the technician. It seems the mail will not go from the server to my email software, and vice versa. Any suggestions anyone?

  • BBM - can neither send nor receive photos

After recently upgrading my bbm to 5.0.2.12 on my curve 8330 I can no longer send pics to messenger contacts, nor can I receive them.  When I click on and email "contact support" I get a canned email back telling me to click the "contact support" button  . . . . . this is driving me mad.

i don't need to, everyone of my contacts has it. Plus every new contact/friend i've made in the last year or two has had it. maybe the apple fanbois here don't like to hear that.
I'm happy that it works for you. It may not be an option for the OP. It certainly wouldn't work for me as I have a fair number of friends with basic phones. Again, Whatsapp is only viable as a replacement for SMS if everyone you want to message is willing to download and use it. If everyone the OP knows is not wiilling to do that, they may need to resolve their existing problem.

  • Could not send or receive emails using zimbra connector interface

I have installed Oracle beehive 1.4.0 and am trying to configure it for email services. After installing Oracle Database,Beehive, Beehive zimbra connector, Beekeeper what else do i need to do ? Is there any configuration that i need to update before i can use email service.
In the control panel it show email service is up and running.
If i try to send email i get this error:
    msg - system failure null
    code - service.FAILURE
    method - ZmCsfeCommand.prototype.invoke
    detail - soap:Receiver
    What does this mean ?
    -Rohit

I am not sure if record management service has anything to with this but thats the only service down on my system so i was wondering what is wrong there.
How do i get to know the email address of user ? I am assuming username@my_beehive_server will be its email address. (in my setup oracle, beehive, beekeeper, zimbra everything is on same testbox which has got 4 gb of memory). Is there anything else which i need to do to add email address for a user. I tried sending email to same user which also fails for same reason. Worst part is even save as draft fails. So i am not sure if this with smtp/imap settings.
I have not setup thunderbird or any other email client.
What all things i need to check to make sure my email service config is correct.

  • Can neither forward nor receive emails on my ipad since this morning?

Since this morning, when I try to forward an article from my iPad, instead of the usual format I am getting a screen offering me various mail options. When I click on Google and have filled out (again), the required information, I get a message that all this is already registered. But I still can´t forward the article!
In the meantime I cannot even get into my mail!
What has happened and how to solve problem?

If the above doesn't work, you'll have to force the iPad into Recovery Mode.
    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • Can no longer send or receive email from any account after Security Update

    Hello,
I have a problem with my email in Mail. I let software update install the latest security update (007) a few days ago. I have not been able to send or receive my email since the update. I have several accounts and use Mail as my client for all. This includes my mac.com account, 3 att.net accounts and my website email. All give me the same error which is an SSL thing and has something to do with the certificates. I am able to receive email if I turn SSL off on the ATT accounts but not the mac.com (and if I try to collect my email with SSL off I get an angry message from ATT warning me I am not allowed to do so) and I cannot send any at all from any account.
The error message reads "unable to connect- there may be a problem with the mail server or network.... The server error encountered was: Mail was unable to verify the identity of this server, which has a certificated issued to "mail.mac.com". The error was: An SSL error occured while trying to read data from the server. Verify this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct". It then states that the certificate could not be verified.
The certificate date on the mac.com account reads May, 29th , 2010.
I also have an iMac and a MacBook Pro which are also running Tiger. I have not and will not run the security update on these machines until I find out why it has messed up my email on the G5. I can still send and receive email with the exact same account settings on the MacBook so I know it is not the settings but something to do with the Security Update.
Has anyone else had trouble with this update? Any advice?

Hello and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...
I don't know if this is a corrupted preference file or not, but it sure can't hurt to try this.
If Mail is open, Quit Mail.
    /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
Drag that .plist file to the Desktop. Launch Mail and see if you can send or receive e-mail. If you can, that .plist file is corrupted. Drag it to the trash, empty the trash and reboot. Your Mac will create a new preference file for you the next time you launch Mail.
Also... run Disk Utility and Repair Disk Permissions. Disk Utility is in your Applications/Utilities folder. Launch DU, select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, click Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.

  • Thunderbird will not send or receive email in Windows 8.1 unless I re-install. The next time I open Thunderbird it is again broken.

Thunderbird will not send or receive email in Windows 8.1 unless I re-install it. The next time I open Thunderbird it is again broken. So, I have to repeat the un-install / re-install process. Currently I am using Version 31.0, but this was happening the the previous version as well.

That really sounds like anti virus scanning to me. Try rebooting your machine into safe mode with networking and see if it works correctly then.

  • Exchange 2007 - User's mailbox disappeared in EMC but they can still send and receive email

We have a user that was complaining about not being in the address book anymore.  After I did a little rooting around in management console I noticed that their mailbox was no longer listed under Recipient Configuration -> Mailbox, but what's weirder
is I can do a search and find her listed in the results - at which point I can right-click her name and do everything I normally can with no problem. Listing all of the mailboxes with PS shows her still there too.  As far as I know, she is the only user
    having this problem.
She can send and receive email just fine, but like I said, she is no longer in the global address list so other users have trouble sending her stuff.  At her computer, I tried repairing her email (under account settings) but the process would fail when
searching for her settings.  I don't know if this is a stupid thing to add, but I did run Clean-MailboxDatabase on our first storage group to see if her mailbox had been deleted or disconnected or whatnot but nothing is currently showing up in Recipient
    Configuration -> Disconnected Mailbox.
    Some info on our setup:
Exchange 2007 on Windows Server 2003r2
AD is on Windows Server 2008r2
Her computer is running Outlook 2010
I did restart our Exchange server 2 days ago to update VMWare tools, but no Windows updates were installed.  She couldn't tell me exactly when this problem started, but it was more-than-likely in the last couple of days as she was recently married and
I had to change her name in AD and Exchange - so everything was confirmed 100% functioning 2-3 weeks ago.
I'm at a lost for what the issue could be, but then again Exchange isn't exactly my forte, so any help would be much appreciated.

First things first - is her mailbox hidden from address lists?  Run
Get-Mailbox <alias> | Fl HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled to find out.  It probably isn't, but we need to clear this, just in case.
Now, assuming it is not hidden, have you searched for both her maiden and married names in your directory?  Often, when the name on a mailbox is changed, the display name is not - and vice versa.  Also, has her email address also changed?
If so, has a secondary proxy address been added to reflect her maiden name?  I'd do this, just to be sure things aren't lost that should be delivered to her.
I can't think of anything else obvious right now.  After you've checked these things, get back to us with their results.
