Could not complete request because of program error
Got that message today, trying to open a jpg in CS4 from Bridge. Its a file I had open all yesterday, did not make any changes, just closed it at end of day. It is correctly named with .jpg file extension. I can see all the data in Bridge. It is one that I created by opening an original file in CS4, duplicating, and saved as jpg.
I can open at all the other jpgs in that folder.
Managed to open it in raw, and saved as psd, and that file opens fine, phew.
Am on a just purchased early 08 MPB, 10.5.5, 2.4 GHz 4GB memory, and newly upgraded to CS4.
/ The few times I had this issue on my old PB G4, I was able to open recalcitrant files in Graphic Converter. Don't have that program on this laptop.
What could have caused this? I tried a quick search of FAQs etc.

Sounds like this may be a duplicate activated or a corrupted font.
There are also new FontAgent Pro plug-ins available for CS4 versions of Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator (as well as QuarkXPress 8 ).

I had this exact same problem, and my photo had also been previously worked on and saved as a jpg in CS4.
I saved it as a psd and then opened it back up in CS4, where it saved as a jpg with no problems.
So, it seems to be a problem with the different versions of photoshop. If you have access to CS4, that could solve your problem. Otherwise, have anyone sending you files from later versions save down to your version, and that might help. -

How do I fix my Camera Raw in Photoshop CS6? I tried to view an NEF file in CS6, but it said I had to update my Camera Raw to 7.3 (I had 7.0). I went online and the only thing I could find was to download 8.6 so I started with that, and installed something and it didn't work, and then it told me I couldn't download 8.6 because my OS X is not 10.7 ( I have 10.6.8). Now when I go back into photoshop it gives me this error "Could not complete request because the file was not found" and I cant open any jpegs in photoshop. I have tried shutting down my computer, deleting caches, and uninstalling photoshop and reinstalling it. Still no luck. Any idea how I can fix this?

When I try to open a file in photoshop CS, Elements or Lightroom I get the message "Could not complete request because it is not the right kind of document" This just started happening today. The only thing I have done differently is change my file handling to raw + jpeg on my Nikon 7100.
I downloaded camera raw 8.7 and I am now able to open my raw and jpeg files. Thanks

I am trying to open a .tiff file in photoshop by using bridge and it opens it as a photo in windows. If I go to file<open it says could not complete request because it is not the right type of document. It is a file from a lesson folder from school. Can anyone help me?

The D810 requires Camera Raw 8.6 or later - the latest version that is compatible with Photoshop Elements 12 is Camera Raw 8.5 as far as I can see.
You need to either buy a new version of Photoshop Elements or use the free Adobe DNG converter.

I have recently been having an error message pop up every now and then in photoshop CC. It usually happens after editing every other photo. It goes away if I close out of photoshop and load it back up. But then it comes back after another couple photo edits. Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks!Nobody can tell you anything without proper system info or other technical details like the actual crash logs. From your description it simply sounds like your graphics hardware is acting up, so update the graphics driver. Likewise, you may simply run out of disk space for the PS scratch file, so check that, too.

I am constantly getting the aforementioned message when I try to import video frame to layers and open video files on Photoshop CS6. I'm running on OSX 10.10.2 I've gone thru all the discussion boards on adobe communities as well as the instructional videos in an attempt to solve this problem and still nothing. Moreover, I uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times are there any other that will effectively address my problem out there?

We were using the spring multipart for the purpose of uploading a file into our application running on Oracle Weblogic Server 10.3.2 using spring framework.
It was working fine until we upgraded our server to the version 10.3.6

We are using "ActionMapping" to call the action method in our controller from the JSP form.

I could not find an answer to my problem so I'm posting this messages for help. I have Squirrelmail working to the extent that I can login to webmail, set preferences, recieve messages and send messages. However, after a message is sent or I try deleting a message I run into errors of they type below:

Query: COPY 10 "Deleted Messages"
Reason Given: Permission denied
---errors given after sending and email------------
ERROR: Could not append message to Sent Messages.
Server responded: Permission denied
ERROR: Bad or malformed request.
Server responded: Unrecognized command
I recieve the message at the destination address - no problem there. Anyone experienceed and fixed similar issues? BTW, this is a server install and am doing the test with one user so far.
Thanks in advance!Problem fixed! Thanks to all who viewed this question. I went to the Squirrelmail discussion list at SourceForge.net and got a clue to my problem. Turned out had nothing to do with Squirrelmail. It was my Cyrus configuration file.
Poking around I had earlier changed the admin username from cyrusimap to soemthing else. That was the mistake. I looked at the default config file and changed it back, restated the mail service and have no problems deleting mail or having messages saved in the sent folder.
Turns out Squirrelmail is a web-based imap mail client. So be careful. Don't arbitrarly change ports or admin users in config files.

An error message keeps appearing when I have I tunes open, saying could not complete request. Any similar problems or ideas to resolve?
Also I now can`t access any of my itunes library and am concerned that if I remove it from my computer I will lose everything as I have no option of accessing and therefore backing anything up. Any ideas?

Illustrator CC 2014 won't open "could not complete requested operation"
I can not get my Illustrator CC 2014 to open any longer. Lately when I try to open the program I get the following error; "Could not complete requested operation". My other Creative Cloud applications, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat are all working. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have jobs starting to pile up.

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Install Xcode: We could not complete your purchase. Unknown Error.
After I upgrade the system to Mavericks, I remove the Xcode.
Then when I use the terminal, the system prompt saying whether to Get Xcode or Get Command Line Tools or something like that. (because I am using git)
Now I want to install the new version of Xcode, but MAS says: "We could not complete your purchase. Unknown Error."
I've tried all solutions out there can be found, like:
1. sign out/back the account
2. remove app store cookies
3. delete the app store cache
4. delete the /var/folders
Nothing works.
I doubt it has something to do with the already working Command Line Tools. But I cannot find this can uninstall it since it is installed alone without Xcode.
